Question Dream questions, am I missing the message?

Hi, I am new here and was hoping for some maybe advice or just general thoughts on a message that maybe I'm missing in my dreams. I'm going to give a little back ground info first, so if you don't care about that then you can skip it.

I have always be very interested in Wiccan/paganism/"new age" religions. Over the years I've done much reading on many of those subjects. Tonight a read something about patron God and Goddess, and it just kinda triggered my memory on my readings. For all I have read I haven't ever really been able to settle down and focus, and the bit about the patron God and Goddess got me thinking on these dreams I had a few months ago and if maybe something was tryin to tell me something and I was missing the message...or if I'm just nuts

Ok...so the dreams I'm going to go into happened over a few different nights...and this was a while ago so details are fuzzy but the main point is really what I'm interested in...

In these dreams I am a wolf....not a werewolf or a shapeshifter...just a wolf. Like I woke up one morning and bam, I have four legs and fur. I knew I had been human at some point? But I was not bothered by the fact that I was now a wolf. Also I thought along the lines of a human(though I can't say how wolves think, but I was thinking as I do normally). Being a wolf felt completely normal to me. I dont remember having any different sense of smell or sight, those things seemed normal, but what I do remember is like feeling the dirt between my paws, the movement of my fur, my muscles as I ran. Through out the dreams I would either be alone or with a pack, which I did belong(felt that way at least). I would be in the woods, running a lot, I really remember the running...because of the speed, the speed felt amazing and the jumping over things....the running on four legs(reminded me of my childhood, I used to run around like Mogly from the jungle book). I even remember feeling the rush of adrenaline from the running, the joy I felt at the freedom and the speed. In one certain dream I came out of the woods on the edge of a large park there were a lot of humans, and I feel like maybe i recognized someone there. We(my pack/wolf friends?) lurked along e edge of the forest before I and a couple others started creeping down this hill towards the humans to investigate. We were spotted which started a panic...humans running or throwing things and yelling at us. We turn to flee...but....as we move to leave the person I recongize(either I never know who it was or have forgotten) calls to me by name. I turn and we watch each other for a moment before I turn and return to the forest.

So that is the over all important things of the dreams, other then the type of wolf I was. In my mind I knew what I looked like, which was a large grey wolf, the kind you always see in the nature show of yellowstone national park. So I guess what I want to know is....where these dreams a message from a God or Goddess? Was this some sort of message and I just don't know how to understand it? Or was it just a really cool dream and I'm just reading to much into it? Keep in mind these dreams happened over multiple nights and not back to back.

Any advice or comments or thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

From some of the paganism material I have read, this sounds more like a "power animal" dream. The god and goddess in paganism simply represent the two opposing forces in nature. They manifest in passive and active forms.

Try breaking the dream down into story elements.

      For example:

      Characters
      Setting
      Sequence/Progression

Here is a cool quote I just found!

It is about creating a unifying depth within your story, character by character, action by action, sequence by sequence, layer upon layer. The surprise is that once you discover what your story is about on a profound level, there are an infinite number of insights and details you can infuse into the material through character behavior, actions, and images. The challenge is to discover this unifying idea or principle that synthesizes what the story is about in simple terms. The genius is to be able to create characters as ideas that morph into character behavior, revealing what the story is about in every frame of the picture.
The hard part about dreams is that they are stories already made. That last line about the genius is exactly what dreams do. The key is to be about to deconstruct, then rebuild the entire dream piece by piece. Its like reverse engineering the dream.

To me this dreams says a couple of things...

      1. Freedom in Nature: The animal is the expression of that freedom. Ive had dreams about being an Eagle, probably because flying is like freedom to me.

      2. Safety in the Forest: You have a pack of your own kind, yet someone knows you by name. You have a connection there and you choose to go back to the forest. This doesn't have to be a bad thing, it just shows what is happening.

      Sounds like a fun dream
