      Aww the Freaking Colors

Ok for the last week now I've been Dreaming of nothing but Flashes of colors. Its like I'm in a tunnel of colors with a black background. I'm not doing anything different than I would normally do. But no matter what I do I cant seem to LD from it. Does anyone know what to do???

okay well it seems as if your focus is not there, and that is causing the confusion also what do you normaly do???
I would try some focus techniques, such as using a simle object in your room and focusing on it, and perhaps picturing all the details in the minds eye..
also try focusing your thoughts on your inner consciousness, perhaps a mediation that enables you to just feel and follow your feelings rather than thoughts too many times in lucid dreams our subconscious interrupts with its garbage, which by all means is not all garbage, but some of it is, and it is those distractions that we need to get rid of, I would also keep doing dream work, also I know that this is for obes but reciting before sleep "I wll remain aware as I fall asleep" will induce lucid dreams and out of body experiences, but ultimatly it helps with your higher awareness, the key to lucidity is acknowledging your higher awareness, and this can be achieved in waking life, by direction our focus on our feelings and pushing our daily thoughts aside, we can began to transform our subconscious worlds , since after all, we can program our own minds...
good luck with this let me know how this go's also if this is reaccuring, you may want to do some tests and ask your dreams what the signifigance of these themes are....keep going the answers will arrive, they always do...in a matter of time.

      Dear Shadows,

Are you still able to simply fall asleep? Instead of lying stiff and straight on your back ready for Dream Battle, just curl up like a baby and forget it all and go to sleep.

I think your Higher Mind has put you in The Box, to get you to chill out somewhat. You need to back off and give your Dreams some space. We need to ask ourselves what our dreams are for? The answer, on this page, is commonly "so we can control the living crap out of them, and turn all the mystery and wonder of the Dream World into a bunch of cheap tawdry parlor tricks we can brag about on line". Before Lucid Dreaming became the rage, along with that philosophy above mentioned, Dreams were appreciated for their messages and for the opportunities they presented for us to grow within quasi-real situations. But through over-control people simply obliterate these Dream Scenarios, that a lot of creative effort had gone into developing. Imagine the Dream Mind's Frustration when a well written dream is simply tossed out by somebody who want to pull dream rabbits out of dream hats all night long.

Get a few good nights sleep and maybe the Higher Mind will let you out of The Box.

well what do the colors mean to you, is the next question??? they have some significance to you ...???
all answers come in time, sometimes I don't ponder over dreams too long, since it is true that your growing internaly (inner self) more rapidly than your outer self, and since this is the case, sometimes its best to let your higer self guide you untill the time is ripe to reap the harvest/answers..
oh ya know what perhap this is your psychic self as well, which I beleive is a few layers within consciousness, the dream world, maybe your beganing to come into connection with that layer of consciousness, since vivid colors almost always represent psychic abilites, in fact it could be that your psychic self is even guided you there..???
im serious, the more we work with our dreams the more we break down walls and barriers of our thoughts and what they have created for us, even with the subconscious we began to actually connect with it in such a way, we just seem to know when we are lucid or when we are having a clarvoyant dream...
at least that is how it works myself

In this case the Colors are holding him prisoner. They may be significant of Psychic Powers but they are not his Psychic Powers, at least not at the egoic jivac level.

As I said, I think his Higher Self has put him into the box for a little bit of cooldown time.

he'll get out, but only after he comes to some kind of an arrangement with his Dream Mind. I suspect that his Dream Mind has finally had enough of the infinite amount of control he had been asserting over his dreams -- not allowing the Dream Mind to pass on the least little Message anymore. This must be frustrating for the Dream Mind. I once had a dream in which I saw a represenation of that Creative Process in the DreamMind. It was shown to be like an old News Room for a New Paper Publisher with about 30 to 50 writers and clerks running about -- some typing away and other with feet up on their desks thinking, and others just gabbing away with each other -- but it was all a very much alive Creative Process. And then we have Lucid Dreamers that would just reject everything they put out. It must be frustrating, after all the work it takes to make a good dream, for somebody to just 'control' it into the big dream rubbish can for no other purpose than to practice dream parlour tricks.

Maybe you have permanently short circuited your brain! It could be bad, prepare for the worst!

No really though synesthasia happens alot to people who take hallucinogens, I think that is why Paperdoll was so terse (aside from the fact that he is generally terse).

You close your eyes and see colors,..the visual cortex is being overly stimulated. Layoff for a while. Might help, find something in the real world to take your mind off the dream world and then come back to it later.

Try writing with your eyes closed and focus on the movement of your hand, but not on images, motor skills, not visual imagery. Play basketball, go fishing, make love, whatever you can do to thoroughly emmerse yourself in doing things in the real world.

I am no doctor, but unless there is something really wrong I think you do that and come back in a month or two or three and your journey continues.

      Regards,

      EJ

      Oh.

Then I think my entire premise is wrong in your case... if you are not over-controlling your dreams, then there would be no reason to isolate you. But perhaps you are being given an opportunity. so much of dreaming involves refining our social interactions and seems aimed at making us the quintessentially civilized beings fit for a collective society. But your Dream of Colors has none of this, as you are left entirely alone. Perhaps you should consider this as an invitation to meditate, to get into yourself a bit more.

Do you know any Mantras? Or you can try an easy Power Meditation -- simply count up from 1 to 24 for each of your spinal column bones, moving your concentration up the spine as you count. Your Kundalini Energy, your Chi, will follow up during the count. Now, such power meditations are a hundred times more impressive during a Dream than while awake, making them always an interesting experience when you can remember to do them while dreaming.
