Told about my death by the ghost of a stranger
Hi, anyone that can help me interpret this strange dream I would be very greatful too. Thanks!
To start off, let me say that the great majority of my dreams are lucid dreams. The one I need help interpreting was not, I had no idea I was dreaming at the time it was happening. Even when I woke up it felt more like a memory of something that actually occured and it took me a few seconds to realize the thoughts running through my head had been a dream. Here it is:
My sister and I were at my parents's house by ourselves and strange things began happening that were freaking us out. Things were moving and we were hearing noises and such so we began to think the house was haunted. (In reality we've never thought that about our parents' home, we've never had any strange occurrences there or anything). In the dream we began calling whatever it was out and saying "if someone is hear, please just show yourself", but in a nice tone, not being demanding or anything.
Most of the movement and noises were coming from where we keep some musical instruments, and when I took out an instrument and laid it there to see if something happened, someone began playing it. I can't remeber what instrument it was exactly (my parents have various ones), I just remember somthing invisible began playing it. Then we again asked it nicely to show itself and it did. We stood directly in front of her.
It was an older lady (maybe late 50's to early 60's) with ashen (black & gray) long hair pulled back in a half-ponytail and fair wrinkled skin. I didn't recognize her, I've never seen anyone that looks like her either. My sister began asking her questions, which she answered. She told us that in life her name was Margaret or something like that, but that they called her Maggie. She also told us that she was a musician. My sister asked her other questions like "how did you die?" and such, and she answered them but I don't remember what the answers were. Then in the middle of answering my sister's questions, she turned to me and said, "If I were you I wouldn't worry so much about the past and worry more about the future." In that instant in the dream, I understood exactly what she was telling me - she was telling me I was going to die soon.
I asked her, "Am I going to die?". She said, "Yes." I asked, "Is someone going to kill me or is it going to be an accident or something?" (In the dream my inclination was that someone was going to kill me). She said, "You're going to run over a little girl," without giving any further explanation and I began to cry. In the dream I asked myself in my head "Does that mean I'm going to die in a car accident?" but then I said allowed without thinking about it, "I would never be able to live with the guilt" at which point I thought to myself that maybe I would kill myself from the depression of having done something like that. I asked her, "When?" and immediately thought to myself "She's not going to tell you that." She just stared at me, and without saying anything or making any gestures, I knew she was telling me to get closer to her, which I did. As I approached her I started feeling scared that she would scare or harm me in some way, but she didn't even move until my head was directly next to hers. As soon as I was, she calmly turned her head and whispered into my ear, "January or February." It made me sad when I realized in the dream that we were already in January, but then the crying got worse when I began to think about my three children and what would happen with them. I kept telling myself in the dream that I shouldn't be sad because I had always said that I would prefer knowing when it was going to happen so I could make the most of my last days (which is true in reality also), but I couldn't stop crying.
The lady dissappeared from sight, and as I was crying I started feeling bad that I didn't give her thanks for telling me, so I started saying out loud, "Thank you Maggie for telling me. I did want to know, so thank you." Nothing was happening and I kept feeling worse because I wanted her to know that even though the news was depressing, I was grateful for knowing, so I said crying really hard now, "Please move something or show me a sign that you hear me saying 'thank you' for letting me know." At that point she moved something on the dinning room table or something, and I knew she heard my thanks. I woke up immediately after that.
