Dear Dreamtamer,
It is perhaps the hardest lesson to learn in Dreaming and some people will go on making the same mistake year after year after year, but DON'T EVER try to go back in a Dream, DON'T try to find anything. Just move one. You see, what the Dream is trying to teach is Non-Attachment to Karma. It involves our Mortality. You see, sooner or later we will all die, and then we have to be able to let go and walk away. But if we are still in that mood where we need to go back for things we have left behind, we will be stuck. Your dream tried to tell you that -- that was with all the times you were accidentally killed while running around looking for your car.
Why just last night I had a dream in which I inadvertantly left my luggage on a bus. At first I thought of tracking the bus to its station, or waiting for it to repeat its round, but then, after years of practicing, it finally paid off... I thought to myself, "It is a dream. Screw the stupid luggage... I'm not really out anything".
This will be a recurrent dream for you until you learn your lesson. With every time you waste a complete dream looking for something you have lost, which you will never find, you need to make it a Morning, Noon, and Night exercise telling yourself that you will never again go back in a dream to look for lost crap... that it simply does not matter... what is gone is gone.
Once you sort of get the message, your Dreams will give you little rewards... little consolations. A while ago I was lost in a dream.. I could not find an Office Building where I had an appointment. So my conditioning kicked in and I said to myself "Screw it. I can find other places to go. I can find other people to see." Then this nice young lady walked up to me and said, "Mr. Volont, it is so nice to see you again". I recognized her... she was the Secretary from the place where I had the appointment, and so I asked her if she could remind me where her Office was. It was diagonally just across the street. So, you see, we do not actually lose anything in a Dream. We don't actually get Lost in a Dream. what we are meant to have will stay with us, or come to us. Where we are meant to go, we will go. But it is not up to us. We need to understand that the Ultimate Control resides with the Higher Dream Mind.
