      nightmare in Philadelphia

After a week of being dry (no dream recall) I have a nightmare this morning like I have quit often and it goes like this. I park my car in a city that I think is like Philadelphia and I can’t remember where it’s parked or how I’ll ever get home. I am desperate to find my car as if that will solve all my fears and insecurities. I keep running into people that want to pick a fight with me instead of telling me where to find my car and I’m trying to avoid them wile looking for my car. Then as I’m walking down the street looking I keep coming in danger of death. A large truck with big bails of hay or something would fall off and try to crush me. Things like that keep repeating. I remember counting 5 times the traffic almost crushed me in one way or another. I go to some woman’s door to ask for help. She lets me in and I offer her 20 dollars to help. At first she agrees to take me to my car but then changes her mind and stamps some paper and tells me I can take a bus home with this. All the wile I still am begging her to please take me because I don’t even know where to catch the bus. I pull out my wallet to show her that I’ll pay her to take me and show her over 300 dollars. But still she insists on me taking a Bus. When I pull out my wallet there are a few knives I forgot about and I tell her that I am not intending on hurting anyone and that one of the knives is a collector’s item. I normally don’t carry a knife. I wake up very depressed for hours after that.

My interpretation: You want to just get in your car and go home. The lady insists that you just take the bus home. The wanting to go to your car and get home s you ust want to take the easy way to get what you want. The lady is insisting that you take a harder way that may make you uncomfortable. She doesn't care how much money you give her she still wants you to take a different path than the one you are used to. The fighting shows that you will have some enemies on this other path. These enemies want to get rid of you. Not neccissarily kill you, but they don't care what you want and want to make you feel worse for their own satisfaction. The cars show that some people may not know that they are hurting you. They may think you are doing good when you are actually holding on to the last part of life as you know it. The knives show that you feel the need to reassure people about what you want to do. You feel the need that when you think you make a mistake you need a small excuse to back it up.

      That is just my interpretation.

      Dear Dreamtamer,

It is perhaps the hardest lesson to learn in Dreaming and some people will go on making the same mistake year after year after year, but DON'T EVER try to go back in a Dream, DON'T try to find anything. Just move one. You see, what the Dream is trying to teach is Non-Attachment to Karma. It involves our Mortality. You see, sooner or later we will all die, and then we have to be able to let go and walk away. But if we are still in that mood where we need to go back for things we have left behind, we will be stuck. Your dream tried to tell you that -- that was with all the times you were accidentally killed while running around looking for your car.

Why just last night I had a dream in which I inadvertantly left my luggage on a bus. At first I thought of tracking the bus to its station, or waiting for it to repeat its round, but then, after years of practicing, it finally paid off... I thought to myself, "It is a dream. Screw the stupid luggage... I'm not really out anything".

This will be a recurrent dream for you until you learn your lesson. With every time you waste a complete dream looking for something you have lost, which you will never find, you need to make it a Morning, Noon, and Night exercise telling yourself that you will never again go back in a dream to look for lost crap... that it simply does not matter... what is gone is gone.

Once you sort of get the message, your Dreams will give you little rewards... little consolations. A while ago I was lost in a dream.. I could not find an Office Building where I had an appointment. So my conditioning kicked in and I said to myself "Screw it. I can find other places to go. I can find other people to see." Then this nice young lady walked up to me and said, "Mr. Volont, it is so nice to see you again". I recognized her... she was the Secretary from the place where I had the appointment, and so I asked her if she could remind me where her Office was. It was diagonally just across the street. So, you see, we do not actually lose anything in a Dream. We don't actually get Lost in a Dream. what we are meant to have will stay with us, or come to us. Where we are meant to go, we will go. But it is not up to us. We need to understand that the Ultimate Control resides with the Higher Dream Mind.
