has anyone ever gone to sleep in a dream?

      maybe a stupid question
I mean when you are lucid, and you can control your dream, it should be possible to go to bed and try to sleep, no?
I was wondering what effect this would have... double sleep or something...

I have went to bed, yes. I did it in an attempt to have a new dream scene once and the other time I tried to gain a higher level of lucidity.
The one time I truely awoke and the second time I had a false awakening.
I think the trick is to have a preconcieved notion of what you want as clear as possible in your head before going to sleep...again.

I have, but not during a lucid dream. It was strange, in my original non lucid dream I went to sleep. In THAT dream, I was lucid, but I thought my first dream was real life.

Once, I went to sleep and while in my dream I fell asleep on a deck (patio thingy) and then had a dream in my dream! Then I awoke from that dream and was still in my dream and then awoke from the whole dream.

I was not lucid. I have never been lucid for more than 1 second without awakening.

I've done this a lot, it can be very interesting. Usually, it just feels like very deep meditation.

I don't think I've ever had a separate dream inside a dream, but I've had false awakenings before. Once I had a dream I spilled something on me. I woke up and went to the bathroom to clean myself up. I was even thinking "wait a tic, how is this possible. it was a dream. Am I dreaming now? [did reality check] nope" then I woke up for real and was pissed.

Also I had a dream I woke up and got ready for school and everything like a normal day. Then I really woke up.

I've done this a few times. For me, it either results in a false awakening or a true awakening.

On thing this is good for is for when your lucid dream starts to fade. Sometimes it is more effective to close your "eyes" and hope for a false awakening rather than to figh it and end up truly awake.

A few nights ago, I had a lucid dream where I went to sleep and it felt really peaceful, like everything was perfect, you know? Eh. I dont know. But it was really calming. It was a really....thick? feeling. Like pudding. I don't know how to explain it. >_<

I tried this, it spawned another "dream me" which i had control of from a 3rd person point of view. Very weird. I think it's because it's hard to understand exactly what you are trying to do in the dream to make yourself "secondarily lucid". Who knows.

I've fallen asleep a couple of times in a dream because i was tired or something an relized it was because the dream didn't feel real and i woke myself up.Duh!!!But those ones werent lucid.
And the other time it was cool because i feel asleep and woke up where i started my lucid dream. Actully i did it twice when i thought i was going to wake up or lose lucity.

i've had a dream within a dream, but when i went to sleep from one dream, i 'woke up' into another dream, and that was just horrible.
i still remember every detail to this day...

I had a dream last night where I was very sleepy and was struggling to stay awake. That was kinda strange.
