This subject is VERY contraversile on here. Some think it is, some don't. Maybe u should ask on beyond lucid dreaming? Or eve browse though that forum and ur probaly find something on it.

There is no scientific data to support Dream Sharing.

Except for the research of Carl Jung. He has a lot of documented cases of dream sharing between family members. He's the only scientist who ever did research like this. Also, I've had multiple personal experiences with it, so I'm convinced it's possible.

There's no way to scientifically proof a subjective experience, all you can do is take their word for it.

Scientifically this is as impossible as any psychic phenomenon, however an effect similar to the one you're looking for could be obtained by talking deeply with the person shortly before you both sleep, building a rapport with the person, and discussing how you would like to 'interact' together in a dream. As long as you both satisfactorily believe that the two of you will share a dream on a prearranged subject, it is quite possible that you will 'share' a dream, whether this comes through coincidence or a subconscious determination. It is however unlikely that you would be able to recall any part of your friend's dream. An actual psychic event, like the one you have described, would almost certainly be a coincidence.

I rather not believe this and keep thining that shared dreams are true but you might be true... However, Controlled LD itself is thought impossible by other people so... We never know...

True... Still, if fortune tellers are not fake, than there are chances of this existing and my godmother is a fortune teller. She is really good actually. She told my mom "In one month you'll be living with a guy and you will have three boys" (not in one month, in her life) and my mom didn't believe her because she never dated anyone and she wanted more than three kids but what my godmother came true and I was born followed by my two brothers. Now they can't have more children 'cause you know what...! But anyways, she's good and she couldn't cheat. It's her job to be a fortune teller and no one has ever said that what she said didn't happen which is scientiflicly impossible

"no one has ever said that what she said didn't happen": well, no-one goes around telling anecdotes in which something a psychic said didn't happen, it goes against the reason of an anecdote. If you believe in mysticism then you're clearly not going to be persuaded but this is all scientifically accountable, and I would direct you to Derren Brown's book Tricks of the Mind if you were interested in the logical side to perceived psychic phenomena.

I don't think dream sharing is possible, since dreams take place within your own brain.

If there's a scientific proof making fortune tellers scientificly true, then why not shared dreams.

Shared dreams could be created by a telephatic transmition or something...

I just don't see how, if it's possible, they couldn't do experiments by telling one person a secret word or phrase, keep the two from communicating, and then after letting them sleep have the other person provide the secret term. Same with APing, and that is why I do not believe in either. If it is so easy that even your artsy highschool loser can learn to AP in their free time (between piercing their nose and reading Twilight), why hasn't this been done yet?

However, there isn't proof that fortune telling is scientifically true, let alone proof that isn't balanced out by knowledge of probability or of the other studies that have taken place. Derren Brown, perhaps the greatest psychic illusionist alive, can 'read minds' with fantastic proficiency, and yet he does not believe a word of psychic or pseudo-scientific mysticism; indeed, he's firmly against psychics and fortune-tellers who employ cold reading and other psychic techniques to make money off of other people's naivety and vulnerability. Instead, he knows the psychology of it and uses this knowledge in an entertaining way, but a way in which it is made explicit that his techniques are anything but psychic.

I agree with Shift's proposal. Until it is proven that psychic phenomena can exist, we can only assume that such phenomena are delusional products of our minds.

Correct from a point of view. The event of dream sharing would undoubtably be a phenomenon (or anomoly). In experiments using the scientific method, no matter how perfect it is performed and no matter how many times the calculations are done and re-done, there are anomolies.

Think about applying the science of thought process and dreaming to the situation. Two brains acting like radios. Brain waves can obviously be detected using scientific instruments and aside for intercommunication in the brain, I'm sure that the frequencies emmitted travel outside the brain. Certain animals are very receptive to brain imbalances reflecting as sometimes extreme human emotion (ex. anger, depression). Humans can be receptive as well.

Long rant short: I'm sure that if 2 people were in a close enough proximity were resonating very similar brain frequencies, that both parties would be able to recieve, decode, and transmit back and forth. By definition, you now have a network. I'm sure that all of our wireless technologies would render this whole process very difficult to say the least.

Well, forget the scientific proof. i just mean that if someone can read people's mind, then I'm sure we can share dream. As Force of Green said, it could be some kind of network
