Possible way of prolonging your dream

Ok, so I kinda thought of a cool idea on how to "prolong" your dreams, but I haven't tested it out yet myself so I'm not sure exactly how it works or even if it will work at all.

Do you know when you're deeply thinking about something in waking life? You get into it so deep that you just ignore the world around you and somehow you lose the sense of time. And after some time when you've stopped thinking about it you look at the time and say: "What? It's been only 2 minutes???".
What I'm trying to say here is: when you're concentrated on something so deeply in your mind, you somehow think faster than usual. Since, as I have stated before, you have lost your sense of time, to you it seems you have been thinking for some time now but in reality its only been a few minutes. Thats what I've been thinking to use in your dreams.
Since dreams are themselves taking place deep within your mind you could make yourself somehow lose the sense of time, and then simultaneously accelerate the general time in your dream thus making you think that the dream lasted for about 1 hour or even longer, when actually in reality, a significant smaller amount of time has passed.

Thats how I came to the conclusion on how some people had dreams that lasted for about 2 or 3 days and even longer. Because they just lost their sense of time. Considering that I believe in what they've said

Tell me what you guys and gals think about it and if you find it possible to achieve it would be great to try. I would try this myself too, but since I'm a beginner I really doubt I'd be able to do such a thing, not to mention if I even HAVE a LD anytime soon

Yeah I think that might work. I've often wondered about this myself. Although I tend to think that the time you spend dreaming in real life, is the same as the time spent in the dream. So if you dream for an hour, then that is the time spent in the dream. There's ways to actually prolong waking up which prolongs the dreams.

Taking sleeping pills to help with sleeping for a long time, sleeping in a quiet place with no noise, I know rubbing your hands in a dream to keep from waking up works well and I would recommend it. But I'm not so sure about the whole 'day in dream land' with 8 hours sleep. If people can get this to work, it really opens up endless possibilities. I'd love to be able to do it!

Maybe you could use some sort of time machine abilities to make it seam like there is more time inside the dream? Stopping time, accelerating time, who knows? Good luck with it man.

But lucidity is a delicate thing. If you lose sense of time, surely you are likely to lose lucidity as well?
