      A dream guide is a certain person within your dreams that can help you out. A dream guide is basically an aid. Though, to the question, yes you can do it that way. Though, It's very hard to summon them. What helped me find my dream guide was spiritofthewolf's thread.

      Dream guides tend to be more spiritual. They might not actually exist. Perhaps they are just a part of your unconscious mind appearing in a form of an animal or person.
