my mind wont let me dream

hey guys, i haven't been online or really trying to lucid dream the last couple of months, but have been having a very annoying problem every single time i do manage to become lucid.

ok, so every time i suddenly realise, 'hey im lucid!!' i only manage to spend about 10 seconds in the dream, because as soon as i think, even remotely, about waking up, i do.
i get sucked out of the dream, and into something else that i ALWAYS think is reality. ive even been rcing every time i wake up for about 2 weeks now, and it still keeps happening. it feels like my mind is trying to stop me from consciously dreaming...

can anyone help??

Firstly, don't get overexcited when you become lucid.

And secondly, ALWAYS do reality checks. Always.

since your worried that your dream will break apart it will, expect something to happen and it will happen. when you "enter" a lucid dream you need to think that it wont break down and it wont, the only laws in a LD are the ones you make if you think everytime you are going to lose your LD it will, you just made a new law. when in a dream know that you will stay in it and you will.
the only law in lucid dreaming is that they dont last forever.

i think some background information is in order though...

i've been lucid dreaming for about 9 months consciously (about 2 or 3 times a week when trying), and alot longer unconsciously, so its not inexperience thats the problem,

i was thinking about this yesterday and started thinking, does anyone know of any excersises that can help with will power? i've recently started to meditate, and found that its helping alot, but any techniques, or really any other comments are helpful, thanks.
