A good way for gamers to re-locate yourself in dreams

So, this is a quite good idea i got, and it's VERY effective if you are a gamer.

Portal - rings any bells?, well - it should if it doesn't

Anyway, the concept is simple, by playing a game the gamer gets to know the weapons/items very well, and remembers their whole effects/looks - thus it is VERY easy to imagine them aswell.

Now, the idea is this: once in a dream, imagine spawning the portal gun, take the gun, aim at a wall, and think about the location that it is connected to. And simply go through!.

Because the mind knows the effects of the gun after playing a few hours VERY well, it should NOT be hard to achieve the desired effect.

I will try this tonight, to finish some business...

      Thumbs up

Hey, thats great idea, ill try that, played the game but it was too short though :<
I don't have problems with changing location (i'm doing the door technique )
but it looks interesting, maybe it will be good for summoning certain dream characters ? (i have sometimes problem with that)

I do that in my LDs sort of unintentionally. I just realized that I could use my body as a game controller (like for the playstation).

Once I was fighting a vampire, and right before he hit me I would start glowing. I realized this was like off of a Spiderman game that my brother borrowed from our neighbor, so I tapped my right middle finger to dodge. (In the game, you have to press the circle button to dodge, so I said that my finger was the circle button.)

Later, I was still fighting the vampire, but I had no weapon. So I used one of my eyebrows as an arrow key (from the game Shadow of the Collossus) and pulled out a bow and arrow. I used it to kill the vampire.

I dreamt of being on Mars and I used a portal to get back to Earth. Right after I beat Portal.

I think the game 'Portal' should be a mandatory game for dreamers. It clearly gives spatial creativity a new dimension.

      PS. Don't forget the gravity-gun.

When i read this post i did a few reality checks to make sure i wasn't dreaming because in several of my latest lds i used the portals to teleport like a second nature.
But watch out i lost lucidity in 2 of them by making the portal on the floor because i got stuck bouncing from one portal to the other, like in the game when you make two portals on the floor.

What we see is but an illusion.

Yeah that game looks sweet, I haven't made a purchase of the Orange Box yet but I will make sure and check it out soon...would be a great way to teleport indeed!

I've yet to try, but I'm sure this would work, as games are probably the best way to learn dream control out there. I can pretty much attribute my ability to use telekinesis perfectly on the first try almost entirely to having played Bioshock far too much.

Oh yes! I've gotten so much better at telekinesis since I've been playing that game! I also remember moving a bunch of clouds to reveal the sun. The realistic feeling of temperature changing was a surprise too.

What about using portals to create an infinite loop (of yourself going through portals) in your lucid? Would probably kill your dream.

Dude, I love you, the fact that I play Portal, too.
