When you're trying to make stuff appear it helps if you don't try to make it appear in front of your EYES. Like, say I wanted a hamburger. If I were in a room with a table, out loud I would say, "When I turn around there is going to be a delicious hamburger on that table." It should work. Also for people, if you're outside, a good thing to say is "When I go around that corner ______ will be there." As for making your dream longer, there isn't much you can do (I think). When you leave a dream you're probably exitting a REM stage. But if you feel yourself getting unstable, like you KNOW you're about to wake up, then spin (don't close your eyes&#33 around in circles. It might help to rub your hands together and say something, too.

Hehe, turning around to get something sounds illogical, but I see how it might work - after all, you don't know how something would just appear - maybe it's too complicated to think about.. It's like the guy who just posted in Newbies - he thought up a man in the back seat of a car when he was facing forwards, and he was there when he turned around. But then he tried turning him into a woman when he was looking - with not much success

Something I have learned lately is to try something simple that does not require a lot of immagination. However, I was able to make a simple object (mirror) appear once. I closed my dream eyes and wished for it to be there. It was there when I opened my eyes. Funny, I heard a tinkerbell chime when I this. LOL!

Sounds to me like you plain old dont have enough control in your Lucid Dreams. It isnt uncommon from what i've heard to not be able to fully control your dreams until you've had sufficient practice, and experience with them; I for one cannot fully control my dreams as you say, but i CAN make *certain* women appear, but nothing else.

(I've had 4 LD's, 3 of which were WILD's with FA's)

well i found if i wanted somthing to happen and it wouldnt, to say 3,2,1. as example: a "hamburger will be on the table in 3...2...1." or "the night will change to day in 3...2...1" after 1 things usually happen. Or there was somewhere on here that said to use a magic wand. Just pull it out of your pocket, (it will be there already) and put your trust in the wand, instead of your control of the dream.

I believe that it is possible to make your dreams last longer. I just had my first lucid dream last night and it was incredibly long, I even remember asking myself "When is this going to end, its been so long?". I was able to freeze time, and then make it go backwards, which greatly extended the length of my dream. For me it is easy to freeze time just using my hand and casting a spell thinking that people would just freeze. As for making the time go backwards I looked at the clock and made it move backwards. When the dream was starting to fade I rubbed my hands together very quickly and that worked as well.

I think there's no actual predetermined limit in a lucid dream. I think you can make the lucid dream as long as you want. Eventually it will get harder and harder to stay in the dream, though. But if you practice enough, you'll be able to prolong the dream like three times as long as before?
Sure, why not?

I can only agree with that. Only last night, I have been able to make my dreams last longer only by asking with determination more light as soon as the dream started to get darker. It really helps to have a brightful scene around in order to have longer lucid dreams.

To do cool stuff in dreams, and having control is built by expectations. By expecting something to happen without doubt.

So, build up expectations, try to think that " this would happen since it is a dream." THink stuff like, _IF_ I put my hand down my pocket I'll get a gun in my hand, or.. If i hold my hands in this position a fireball will start chargin till I let go.

So basically you build up expectations and, if you don't have any doubts, you can do ANything.
With diffrent techniques that you can come up with yourself built on expectations, you'll be there in no-time

You need to be sure that what your saying will happen, you know, have confidence and, if you're going to say it out loud (thinking it is easier for me, even when I've lost lucidity and am having a vivid dream, I have enough control to get certain things that I want) state it as a fact, it really does work, and if it's not in front of your eyes you can believe it easier instead of doubt that food will materialize in front of your face (I think that you'd need a good bit of dream control or confidence for it to happen), I guess you could say it's like expecting the unexpected?
