Image Fades Away While Trying To Focus On It

Hi,
I have some minor experience with lucid dreams. But still I've got one unresolved problem. When I find out I'm lucid, I usually try to focus on enhancing the image quality and be aware of my surroundings. This somehow works, but at the moment when I stop focusing (or at least that is what I think), the image fades away into black and I lose my body. Spinning, rubbing, etc., doesn't work since I've no body to do it with.

Any suggestions?

no body? thats interesting... well possibly u might just be concentrating too hard... waking yourself up. u need to stop working against your subconcious and go with it... lose your load, leave your mind behind. just chill bones and bask in the wonder of your lucid dreams. as for the "no body" part how do you have no body... how are you becoming lucid when you have no dreambody? are you just an observer... like a floating camera?
