Maybe you were having a thunder-storm in real-life. I've had dreams where it was thundering only to eventually actually wake up to one.

I'm getting angry
I used to be better than you at it too

Good job Manderz!!

just for you

Do you know exactly why a thunderstorm appeared in my dream after I made it brighter?
It's like the opposite.
Your subconscious must have been thinking
"Ah man the last thing I want is a thunderstorm . ."
:okbyenow:
Exactly. I used to do this all the time when I was a kid. In my nightmares, I'd become lucid, then freak out and hope that, say, Freddy Kruger wouldn't show up again. Well, duh, that's the first thing that would happen! :DQuote:

Here's what I would do - try and clear your mind with some math problems or something, get that analytical part of your brain working. Then, raise your hand to the sky, and as you say "light" visualize the light. See it in your mind's eye exactly as you want it to look. For me, the visual and the command at once have never failed to illicit some sort of response in the general direction of my intention.
Good luck, and good dreaming.

I think you where just starting to lose your control over the dream..
the dream went his own way...and you probably expected it to storm..
you know, subconcious..what JACK D said

When it got dark, did you move to another dream or wake up?
Or did you stay in that darkened state for a while?
Or did you stay in the same dream?
I take it you saw something like lightning or a flash of electricity in the darkness. Were you holding something when the dream went dark?
(These are not idle questions. I have good reasons for asking them.)
