It's quite difficult to answer because dream control varies from person to person, it also depends what you want to do.
I will try my best to explain:
If you want to control the length of your dream there are several methods. Sensory stimulation in the dream, such as rubbing your hands together or spinning around help maintain an active participation within the dream and prevent pre-mature awakenings.
Spinning can also help when trying to change the dream scene, while spinning think about where you want to end up, vizualize this location in your mind and remember to RC wherever you find yourself, even if you 'wake up' it could be a FA.
Rubbing your hands or shaking your head also help to stabalize the dream and make them more vivid. Another good method is to simply shout "I want more clarity!"
If you are having trouble flying, give yourself a reason why you are able to fly, e.g. Take a couple of flying pills out of your pocket and swallow them. Pick up a pair of wing's from the road side and put them on. You could even use a magic carpet. these all help explain why you are able to fly, helping to convince yourself that it is possible.
If you want to meet a certain person, expect them to be in the next room and meet them, or turn around and say to yourself "when I turn around 'so&so' will be there etc.
As I said at the start, it all depends on what you want to achieve, there are no 'right and wrong' answers when it comes to Dream Control, it's whatever works best for you.
One final and important note. Dream control has a lot to do with your expectation. Simply believing it will happen is the best dream contol there is. If you have any doubt in your mind that the action you are trying to perform will fail, then it probably will.
These are just a few ways to control your dreams, there are many more techniques available.
If you need more details on anything i've mentioned or have specific control issues feel free to PM me.
Hope this helps :)
Couldn't have said it better myself. ^^^
I kind of new myself, but I can have a lucid dream 8 of 10 trys.
The main thing is to keep at it. To me all this stuff sounded hard, but it easy if you keep focus.
Other things to remember are to be tired, listen to bream, and the ablity to know when you'r having SP.
Striaght forward tips?
KEEP TRYING, you'll get there in the end
I found the problem with choosing to remain in a dream is that when you wake up, you may forget what went on earlier.
I'd also add to focus on one particular thing you want to do on a given night (or a series of similar things). Try too much at once like I did on my first try, and you'll wake up out of confusion.
For dream control I think the most important thing is to be 100% sure you're dreaming, through reality checks. And make sure you understand you are in control of it all. If you aren't certain about it you won't be able to do anything.
Ubik covered it for me - changing your expectation and making use of 'shortcuts' (the magic pills/flying carpet trick)
That should give you a boost in the dream control department.
Good luck ;)
