I just starting lucid dreaming, and I don't have frequency or recall yet (at all) since I am just starting, but once I get frequent I want to get to extend time since that could let me dream on and on. FUN. |

i heard that if you spin around when you are about to wake up (when the area around is fading away) you will continue to dream, i tried it but i woke my self up. |

Ive heard other peoplee say that this will actually wake you up but in my cases its resulted in staying lucid longer. I touch something and just take in how real it feels, I think its kind of like the hands thing, really focousing on the detail but in this case it focusing on feel.Anyways try it, if it doesnt work then dont pay attention to this post.lol. |

thanks for the ideas, i'll try them when I get lucid, but what I am asking is if anyone knows how to extend time in the sense of sleeping for one night, but making the dream seem like it was, for example, a month long. |
|
there is a way to control it considering it is happening inside your own mind, in theory it should be as long as you want it to be, i also heard that lucid dreams get longer the more you have them, so maybe the skill of changing dream time comes with lucid experience and it might not be a seperrate skill to learn |

Try imagining slowing down a clock so it moves very slow |

focusing on your hands seems to make a massive difference. To me it certainly does. I find the more detail I am trying to take in when I am dreaming the harder it is to stay. I then start rubbing my hands together, it works very well. Looking at your hands and concentrating on them works extremely well too. |

There was a thread about this a while back .. I recommend searching for it. |

if you're talking about time distortion, as in slowing down the perception of time within the dream so it seems like you are in the dream longer, i have been experimenting with this. basically my idea was that i would wake up before my alarm went off and think to myself "darn, i have 20 minutes left until i have to get up? i wish it were HOURS" and then fall back to sleep with the intention of distorting time to make it seem like i was getting in a lot more sleep. i was definitely possible, in small doses, but i'm not sure how i did it other than to just TRY. i will try this again soon and report back my findings |

I once fell asleep at 1am and woke up, i thought it was about 6am (waking time) because it felt like i had a whole nights sleep but when i looked at my watch it was only 2am |
|
It's all a pretending manner inside the dream... Like if you want somebody to appear in a room you'll have to "think" that this very person is waiting for you around the corner... |
|
Maybe next time I LD (hopefully soon) I'll try slowing down a clock then, and not stress out. I seems like the most recommended thing to try. Thanks for the great ideas, and more are always welcome. |

Keep doin RC and focus on something. If you feel it about to fade just stare at a wall for a few sec. and absorb the details. It lengthens the dream almost always for me. |

I had a technique for this back then, but it's a bit silly. I just imagine an alarm clock that will extend the length of your dreams for a certain amount of time. Each time I do it, the clock will always pop into my hand and reset it's time by itself. Somehow, the dream lasted longer. I've done this a few times, but I don't know if it'll work for others. Worth a try though. |
