WBTB with MILD
that means, when i wake up (little earlier) and dont have to work etc, stay awake for 15mins to 1 hour.
then rush back in bed, use MILD (mantra if you like to keep your self reminded) or just sleep and wait sleep paralysis to hit, so after it im sure i can enter to lucid world.
i also listen with headphones calming/relaxing music to sleep, but do it only if you are ready to LD, or else you will fall asleep and sleep like a baby =d
other than that, you have to find your self what works for you !
Techniques do not matter, Andrelis.
Develop your fundamentals, and techniques will become nothing more than a convenience, based on your current needs, and certainly not the path to lucidity. In other words, if your plans or sleep requirements call for DILD, then you might choose to do a MILD technique, but if you are planning on sleeping in the next morning, you might choose a technique that assists in a WILD, like WBTB.
When you have your mind in the right place for lucidity, techniques are secondary considerations; handy tools. Try to make lucidity, and not techniques, your priority... and certainly choose which techniques you use based on your own needs, and not on what people tell you works for them!
As long as I'm here: Keep in mind also that DILD and WILD/DEILD are not techniques, but names given to the actual transition from wakefulness to your LD. DILD indicates that your transition took place after you fell asleep and lost consciousness, with your "wake-up" to self-awareness (aka, lucidity) occurring during a dream that began non-lucidly; WILD/DEILD means that you went from wake to sleep to dream without losing your waking-life self awareness. The techniques, like MILD and WBTB, are what you use to make DILD's and WILD/DEILD's happen.
Oh, and welcome to Dreamviews!
I guess as a newcomer you can become overwhelmed by the amount of 'choice' on offer and eager to get a technique going. To echo what Sageous said, first work out how your current lifestyle can 'accommodate' a technique for lucidity. I am also a newcomer and have gone through the mill a bit but come out the other side with some lucid adventures. Id say, for me, the most effective and more importantly, convenient 'technique' that I have used (and still use) is SSILD (Google cosmic.iron ssild)
It may be best to at first avoid direct 'techniques' such as WILD and start with something more 'light' such as MILD. As time goes on you can introduce more advanced stuff
BUT ... Before you start anything, i would highly recommend reading some of Sageous methods and advice as he has a real handle on this with many years of experience.
none - the perks of being a natural.
DILD - MILD and WBTB
I'm a chicken and too afraid of trying WILD. I know it's all about the mindset and there's nothing to be afraid of but it can be hard to change your mindset sometimes! Definitely want to give it a go once i'm more experienced with lucid dreaming though!
I wake up during the night one main alarm and several periodic alarms in order to fit in plenty of chances to WILD. I've succeeded once with my most recent way of doing it, so eventually I hope to consistently repeat that.
This, kinda. I have a sleep disorder and a fun side effect is getting sleep paralysis multiple times a night. Once you're used to it, it stops becoming scary and becomes awesome. I use them as a jumping off point to enter lucid dreams, which works about half of the time.
FILD is so easy and it works like dayum
I've had only 5 LD's and my third/forth were in 2 days by the FILD technique. I had my fifth using FILD too.
