'Confidence Building' - Speaking Aloud to Perform Actions

Control is always a problem in lucid dreaming - there's always some sort of problem when you try to do something.

One of the things that's helped me out big time is building confidence in myself when trying to do something - that is, saying aloud that I can and I will. This worked for me just last night - I wanted to run very fast, but nothing was working. I told myself "I can run fast and I will run fast", and took off. Speaking aloud has always helped me big time, and I think this might be a big help to those that are having trouble doing things.

Curious as I am, I wonder if anybody else uses a method like this, and if so, would mind sharing their results with it.

I absolutely agree. In my first LD I attempted to fly and just couldn't get it under control. Then I said out loud, "This is my dream and I can fly!" And just like that I was flying fine...superman style. I have used this same practice many times in other dreams and it works well.

Yes, very good technique. It really helps plus it feels really cool, it's like performing magic or something.

When I stabilize I rub my hands and then yell ,"Anchor Into Lucidity Now!" it clears up and anchors the rest of what rubbing hands didn't.
Also if I yell a second command like ,"100% Clarity Now." That does the rest if the other command doesn't fully work and vice versa.

In an attempt to fly I ran, jumped, and yelled FLY! lol the DC's behind also yelled it and boom I was in flight.
I tried previously ,but I only jumped really high. Also in waking life I thought of a long time ago I tried flying and it didn't work, so that could
of help the cause of not being able to.

I really think for me atleast verbal commands help greatly. Even if it's not for lucid dreaming, you may hear/look at a situation differently
when you say it out loud. Another thing I would like to point out is RC. I had a thought of even though I know it's a dream ,maybe somewhere tucked
away is a thought that not all things is possible/ lacking dream control. So I thought what if I increase dream logic with finger through hand because
seeing/feeling it seems more dramatic than nose pinch. I remember to RC before flying even though I did the nose pinch with success.

So perhaps confirm 100% it's a dream with a test that is dramatic.
Then also use verbal commands. Then once you're able to experience them, you may get use to the feeling and won't have to use verbal commands.

Yes this is what works for me! Even before I knew what LD was I somehow knew that having unshakable confidence and using the power of words would help me attain what I wanted.
