      Trouble visualizing a certain person

Hi, I am new to this forum, also to forums in general but I just couldn't find an answer anywhere. Sorry if that question has been answered in the past.
I manage to have lucid dreams from time to time and I am able to control it to a pretty good extent I think, but there is a person I always try to visualize, and it never works. This is a person I knew in real life and haven't seen since 5 yeats ago (but I do remember how he looks). I can make other stuff appear but when I try to summon this person either nothing happens, or something random appears or even I lose some control.
What are some tricks I can try, both in daytime reality and in my lucid dreams, to make it happen?
      Thanks a lot!

The truth is that the dream world, whether you're lucid or not, is still your subconscious brain's playground. Many, many people have trouble with this, and often people can't get a dream character to look exactly as they would prefer. Why? Because the subconscious brain--Subby--has a different agenda altogether. If you've ever attempted to have sex during a LD, then you may have been surprised to find that the DC was totally disinterested in you, or that he (or she) was unattractive; if you have tried to travel back in time to see a childhood friend when they were younger, you may have found that they looked like they did when they were twenty-three instead of ten.

It just happens. And, to be honest with you, I'm not sure that there's anything you can do about it except for testing your patience. Personally, I suggest for you to try and ask--politely--to see the guy that you're trying to see exactly as how you remember him. Keep asking this, and maybe Subby will comply.

Perhaps someone else has a better answer. :3

Do you have a photo of him that you could look at before you go to sleep to reinforce your desire that you want to see him? Also in addition to trying to ask politely, try calling him and listening expecting his voice to answer, or instead of summoning him to just appear out of thin air go up to a closed door for example, expect to find him on the other side, and then open the door or something like that. Also if he is far away, try traveling to that place first, and only then calling him. Sometimes when the straightforward approach does not seem to work, our mind may be more willing to comply when approached in a different way, using some tricks that make the expectation more "likely".
You may say I'm a dreamer.

So far the best method that worked for me was being stubborn. Simply stop somewhere, and say that you won't do anything as long as the specific character shows up. The character may not be that happy, but he / she will show up
