How to control scary characters

Hey all!

So I have been away from lucid dreaming for quite some time. I came back just last night when I tried ADA and then went to bed. I became aware when I was in some bathroom-like area with Amnesia servant grunts. I was teasing them (they were crying in the stalls) until a demented amnesia grunt version of myself came out of the corridor toward me. Frightened, I covered my eyes and the dream was over.

I was wondering how exactly to control these monsters. There seems to be a chance that they will not listen to me, and the initial scare is fantastic. If anyone could lend a hand, that would be great, thanks!

You just have to force yourself to understand that you ARE in a dream and it's your world. Stand up to them, with confidence. They can't hurt you unless you let them.

What TheSpiderSilva said is true, when you understand that you are in a dream, you can easily stand up to them, change everything etc. In the few nightmares I had since starting to become a better lucid dreamer, I just used to change my emotions from being scared or having fear, too being calm with the knowledge that this was my world and sending out love/peace towards the creatures. It may sound silly, but it works for me.
