My Main Obstacle
Okay. This is my main obstacle in dream control: DC's! They are ALWAYS getting in the way and getting me distracted (note: I have ADD...) from my dream control tasks. I have yet to find my dream guide or meet my characters (I am a writer and that would be the coolest thing EVER). I tried using my "Expectation Technique" by facing away from the aggressive/annoying DC and saying out loud, "When I turn around, this person will be gone," and afterwards turning back around. The problem is, this never works because I can still HEAR them behind me, meaning they still exist to me. Maybe I should somehow make them mute first? I haven't tried that. Anybody have any suggestions? This is extremely frustrating. One time, a vicious blue dog appeared in my lucid dream and attacked me... Another time, a dentist started stabbing/cutting me with his tools when I was trying to fool him into thinking I cancelled the "appointment-" (I certainly did NOT want to spend my lucid dream having dental surgery...). As you can see, my attempts at regaining control over my dreams are futile. Help!

Ok, all i can say from being a dream control expert is, the number 1 control you need to use is with DC's! You need to keep training with your DC's and see what really works, when it doesn't then you will know next time what to do. From my own experience of DC's being annoying, it means there is something they don't like is in your dream and they are telling you to listen to your dream more by annoying and attacking you. If it is recurring then you need to start writing journals and putting the pieces together.
I had my moments in dreams that i have stalkers, and it's not DC's, i really had to trick these stalkers so they can go away, it's all in my DJs here, some people have different ways of dealing with this in their dreams, you need to find your own tricks and use them against negative DC's so that they won't mess with you anymore. It's usually a test to see if you can defend yourself in dreams, looks like you need lots of fighting or trickery training. :)

You're still paying them attention, so ignore them for real and don't worry about them being there when you turn around. Just focus on something else. Or you could try to work with them instead, act as a therapist and ask them why they're being annoying.

Maybe by expecting your DCs to do something (such as disappear) you are keeping them in your dream. There's an awesome guide by The Cusp where he explains the attention principle in detail. Here ya go - http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/nature...control-57283/

I love that thread! I read it years ago and still refer back to it. Thanks for all of the replies people! I'll keep you updated on how this obstacle progresses.

When you turn around, put your hands over your ears and make some noise. While also expecting them to be gone, and forgetting about them.

Thanks! I'll have to try that.
