but then there's always the possibility of losing lucidity once you transition over to the next dream...and then there's the blackless void.... |

Curiosity killed the cat but at least it didnt die an ignorant bastard
I agree. It might be personal ... and I may be wrong to promise anything ... in spite of believing it's all to force and dream-attention... |

I once closed my dream eyes and when I tried to open them I opened my real eyes, so I'm not doing it again. |

This means only that you haven't got enough control on your dream body... |

Last night I had an LD, and I remembered this thread right after becoming lucid. I was starting to wake up and the image was fading, so I closed my eyes and shouted something about regaining control. I opened my eyes, and voila! It worked! |

Stopping to think is one of the best advices you can give. You can never completely shut down your brain so that makes it very tricky to stay conscious while falling asleep... And i think that in most cases the "losing lucidity" and the "start waking up" bits are actually an illusion your brain makes for itself. There have been numerous times where i was confident i had just waken up only to find out that it was a dream 10 minutes later when i really wake up. |

I bet if you focus on your other senses as well, you can close your dream eyes without too much problems (focus your hearing, smelling, and touch (wind on arms, etc,)). |
|
Don't you know nothing about double and mirror LD? Dreaming by dreambody? "Opening" of eyes is just a word - we're talking of one and the same experience... using different words, I'm sure. :] |

Yes, I agree with Kramari, that closing Dream Eyes wakes you up just as surely as Closing Waking Eyes puts you to sleep. |
