Ninja world

This is the first page and start of a hopefully amazing adventure.

Getting lucid and staying lucid is a rather tricky thing to do. You remind yourself that you're dreaming constantly when you perform tasks that are impossible in waking life. To counter this, people have come up with an idea that I will try out.

The idea is to follow the rules of the world you end up in, and try to live in the moment. You don't think about lucid dreaming more than you can while being lucid, other than stabilizing the dream and making sure you don't lose lucidity, you just follow the rules.

When you get confident enough to fly or do any kind of superpower without thinking much about it, when it all feels natural, then you can do it without risking to end the dream prematurely. This can be quite hard for some people, and creating a world where this is possible will make the dream less "forced".

If you're in a world where superpowers are possible, I believe that you will be able to stay lucid and remain in the dream for a very long time even though you do things that should be impossible in real life.

The idea

What I intend to do, is to create a world similar the world that of Naruto. It's a ninja world with different countries. Each country has a speciality based on the elements of nature. I will not create the Naruto world itself, but a similar place. I have no idea how the land looks, how it's run, who will be there and what my own powers are. I will be a ninja like the rest, and I will work my way up through the ranks, or down.

To do:

1. Use a portal to go there, look around and fly as high as possible to get a clear view of the landscape. Look at the details, and wake myself up immediately after to make a large map of the place. This is the only time flying will be permited (until learned if possible).

2. Find out what my powers are. This is done in Naruto by holding a special card and focusing a bit of chakra into it. The card will tell you your primary nature allignment.
The different nature allignments are: Fire, Earth, Wind, Water and Lightning.

3. Interact with people and let the adventure begin!
As I go and find out more and more about the world, I will add things to my map. What countries there are (if any), different people, items I find and so on. Having a huge map drawn and gradually expanded will make it easier to get a clear picture of the place and keep me motivated.

Rules

Not everything will be possible. I guess doing other powers than that of your primary allignment will be possible, only you will be the strongest with that particular element. You won't be able to do much at first. Practice makes perfect!

The world is built up so that people have a Chakra Energy System. You use chakra to do different things and you gradually get more and more the more you use it. When you're out of chakra, you will be exhausted.

The rest is up to you!

The conclusion is: Draw a big map of a world, explore and live in that world with an alter ego. Fill in the map with details and information about the world.

There's much talk about whether Shared Dreaming is real or not, but I do know one thing. The experience itself is real in the dream, and if people are up for it, I would gladly "share" this world with you. How about I start it all off by finding out how the world looks and what it is called and we can take it from there?

If you have any thoughts or suggestions at all, feel free to post. I just wrote up what was on my mind. I'm sure I have forgotten alot and there are probably things that needs changing, I want to make sure everything's perfect before I do this.

This is what the map should look like, although I will draw it in real life and put it up on my wall. It will be alot bigger and alot more detailed and nicely done ofcourse.

Yes I got the idea from different people's threads. Mostly from the elite of Shared Dreaming, KingYoshi and the "Dreamscaping" thread. I guess it will be like the "Serial Dream RPG" only with more set rules and in a different kind of world.

*EDIT* Having a subforum about this might be something worth looking into. If enough people are interested and intend to do this fully, they will have their own threads with their pictures posted, and it will be like a story.

Looks nice, and I'd definitely join it even thought I haven't had my first LD yet I'm sure I'll experience it soon.

That sounds really cool! If I could LD more often, then I would try this too! Also please post a picture of the real map once you make one! I'm really looking forward to your experiences in this "world"! I used to watch Naruto quite a bit, but then I stopped.

What element do you hope you get? Cause if you get wind, would you be able to fly? If shared dreaming was real, then this would be so fun, you could fight with other people and train your skills.

EDIT: When you draw the map, it could possibly change cause it's a dream though. So what would happen if the landscape all totally changed to something different?

Yes, Wind can definitely be manipulated into lifting you up, granting you the ability to fly, although I wouldn't say it's something easy to do. In any kind of anime flying is rather rare

Also, even if Shared Dreaming isn't real. Meeting up with people who do this will be possible. You know what kind of powers they have, what they look like etc. I don't care if it's "real" or not. The experience will still be amazing

Oh, hmmm. I don't intend to fly high up more than the first time. If anything would be different when I'm on the ground then I will edit it on there yes. If you study the map and really imprint it in your mind, any changes that has been made has a logical explanation. Your mind will find excuses, ask a DC about why the lake isn't there anymore and he will answer the best he can. Perhaps there's a mystical creature swallowing up big parts of the land, then you have to find it and banish that bastard.

Adventures like this will pop up, and things that shouldn't work will work. But aslong as you try and know the rules all you can do is to focus on them. Try to stick to the rules that are set and learn how they work. This will ensure you always have a good time.

You may enjoy reading a book entitled "Far Journeys". It is about the adventures of Robert Monroe (the man who invented the term "out of body experience") and specifically his encounters with astral dimensions created and maintained by groups of people.

Oh, cool idea. I wonder what people will come up with, and even if it will stay on a single planet? I was currently going at the power-freak planet (random planet on my dreams), but had to teleport out of there due to some technical problems <.<

I'm sure other continents will play a part in it all sooner or later. I intend to explore the main one first and just let my mind create whatever it can think of. I will ask what the place is called and talk to DC's. Make friends and find items which I will then describe and try to draw. Everything I do will be written down and the map will be updated each time there's something new to add.

To make the whole thing more "real", I'm thinking I should play the amnesia card. You don't just suddenly pop up there, you must have been there from the start, and if I just claim I have amnesia, who knows what I have done in that world? I might be a famous rogue, a hero who recieved a mortal wound or something like that.

I thought of a cool idea of how to use the chakra system. What if when the dream is about to end and the quality is getting sucky, you rub your hands or do any kind of stabilization technique. This can represent low on chakra or something like that and you replenish it by rubbing your hands.

The first things I will do is to train myself in regular fighting. Enhance my muscles and become great at hand to hand combat. I think I will find out my nature allignment later on.

So, anyone got more ideas?

Hey, I was thining about this last night and I had a dream about a Naruto commercial! It was like: " Naruto is back with more power than ever!" And it went through a bunch of fighting scenes plus this huge guy on a throne with a sword backwards on his head, smashing things coming at him with it.

hm... not many people fly in naruto except for the people that train using that meteor thing. wind isnt really flying, its cutting. this sounds like a great idea, i was going to do this on my own once i got better, but i keep feeling like i would make myself extremely OP and make the fights kinda boring

If being overpowered is a problem, make rules so that you have to train to earn powers, that should solve that problem. Either that or make the enemies freaky strong.

rasenshuriken is better, wonder what it would do vs. susanoo... personally i like genjutsu better... but it might be boring in dreams to just make people fall down in a coma or something, so i think ill start off with taijutsu and just kicking ass

I think there should be even more threads and ideas like this. I like to read how dreamers do these tasks, it's so exciting. I wish I could stop only being onlooker though and actually participate. Maybe I will, my lucid dreaming abilities seem to be on the rise now

I also intend to use only taijutsu to start out with. I'll move onto powers once I'm familiar with the world and that might aswell take months. Like Hukif said, I intend to start from scratch. I will try to really force myself into believing it's a new place with new rules. I will not be OP but rather weak to start out with, and all the ninjutsu stuff will have to be learned from another person or something similar. That way, I will appreciate what I learn alot more.

Next time I get lucid I will try to make a portal. I haven't used portals yet so who knows what will happen. I might not be ready for this yet, but I sure as hell intend to do it one day!

I'm also doing something similar to this but I have the same world as in naruto and I'll sure join you when this "project" is ready (I believe in shared dreaming ).
In my ld's I have techniques similar to Neji and I already figured out how to use Kaiten (Rotation in the English Naruto). The chakra network system works great in dreams, as long as you believe in it.
There is a thread, which you may have already seen, here on DV which is called "The infinite universes of lucid dreaming" or something like that. It sure helps with your project. I made a naruto universe with this trick and with a set of specific rules (like no OP abilities and such stuff)

well sometimes you need to be overpowered lol, like if your fighting an akutsuki or kage lvl person, but i dont think id be able to do that stuff with my level of dream control anyway, so working up from the bottom is best either way.

First try was a failure. I was going to "teleport" there with some kind of machine, inducing another dream for me. But I ended up on a bus, being a girl, in some kind of manga world called Soccom. Anyone else has any luck?

Idea: You do raids with your friends that you know irl. You have 2 fates like in Fable. If your good you can do a raid on the dragon dungeon. If bad you can raid a town and fight all the chiefs.
Also have a pet that can do scouting missions for you.

I haven't been lucid since last time I tried. Been having a lousy week of dreaming. I think I will try to go there Sunday morning though, I'll let you know what happens

The ATM looking machine will get me there for sure.
