      Overthinking when becoming lucid

Lately im having a problem over thinking when becoming lucid and i lose my lucidity because of it.
For instance:I just became lucid and i start thinking about doing my dream intention but then i think what if i think of something scary, one thing leads to another and i lose my lucidity...
      Any tips please? :/

It sounds like your overthinking things. Just go with the dream once you got aware of it. Start to explore things instead of start to thinking of what you should do, or what will happen. Then when you start to explore things, then you will automatically start to try things you feel like doing. Good luck next time.

I had the same thing happen to me in my last LD.
Do like what DreamyBear said, and also you can set specific goals to do in your next LD. Memorize them and visualize yourself doing them, so even if your next LD was like those "automatically do stuff" ones, then you wouldn't worry, since you set the autopilot on your goals

Next time you become lucid, sit down and touch the furniture/ground/floor that you are sitting on. Feel its texture. Slowly look around you, enjoying the lucidity, and simply being in a dream.

Last night i had a LD where i became naturally lucid and i asked some DC to take me to my dream guide, they told me where he is and i followed them to him.
I looked around myself and was amazed of how vivid dreams can be, i did some stabilization just in case then for some reason i closed one of my eyes and looked around but then everything got dark and my LD ended.
So why do you think this happened?

Well to me it sounds like you are to worried that you will lose your LD. So I think that since you take the approach to do some stabilization just in case. That might in it self be what cause the dream to end since you seems to do the stabilization even if everything was going well? Try to just enjoy your LD next time, so you dont effect your mind with worries that just turn into reality. Well good luck next time.

WakingNomad's advice is great! I do that as well. What also helps a lot is to make a little plan of things you want to do - it gets your mind in the right mindset so you don't have to overthink what you are going to do and how you will do it... Just get your thoughts all sorted before going to sleep. That usually helps a lot

      Good advice here!

Been a while since being lucid myself, unfortunately - but I have a nagging suspicion that doing "stabilization-stuff" indeed implies subconsciously expecting instability - and that can then self-fulfill.
Sure not for everybody - many report how great it works - but I have my doubts - next time, I will also start with just taking in the scenery that is there already - and not distract myself from a complete scenery by fussing with RCs, while I know it anyway - and by searching for input from my senses etc..
Rather make myself intellectually aware, that I am in another world - my body lies sleeping - and that it's a full other reality at hand.
If there is something missing with this senses-check - and I try to get it online - I think, I loose optic realism and esp. the "feeling" of a complete reality.
It somehow gets artificial from that.
But again - these are my theories - not wisdom gained from experimentation.

Wow, I somehow like this thought and I have never thought about it that way! But it definitely sounds reasonable to me. If you want to change something just by looking at it you indeed need to expect the object's instability... That's probably why some people choose to fly to places instead of just making them appear in front of their eyes or by turning around! Maybe they cling to the laws of reality a little and rather choose to get somewhere logically - and hence don't quite see the instability of everything in the dream realm and the countless ways of changing things. Or maybe they just prefer flying hahaha!

Make a schema that stabilization is an hd switch, nothing more. I do that, and it extremely helps, even when I do the spinning tech. I can get excited and not wake up even. Schemas are the best way to solve expectations. This is an approach, not a new tech
