      The big Flying Thread

As I look around this page I don't see any Flying related dreaming topics around, I know your going to give me the how do YOU fly thread, but in this thread I'm not possificly asking you how you guys fly, all though I would like to know, I would rether, learn why I can't fly, yep its true never could fly, I have tried and tried, here are some of my ways to fly (after reading some of these you will think I'm lying about not flying, but these methods hardly got me off the ground)

Balloon trick: this worked well I realy couldn't get 5 feet off the ground though

zooming: I beleive this is seekers old method, an exlent one I realy havn't tried yet, that much anyway

wind: this one has to work the best for me, although it never worked good, it got me around

slow motion jump: this helpes create that feeling, of swimming through the air, I tried this once, fell and almost had a heart attack

pencil jump: this was named after a dive I used to do in school, called the pencil dive, because I used to jump with my arms and legs pined to my sides, like a rocket.

hopfuly you can patch these methods up.

I just jump off superman style, believe in my abilities and take off.
The first time I tried it ... I imagined shooting straight into the sky like a beam of energy. It worked immediately.

LDG, it took me quite a while to learn how to fly. At first, I could float a little off the ground, but go no further. I then learner how to fly a little, but found that I was limited to how high I could fly. I am still limited in that area. I can fly fine, but it seems Icannot break the 10,000 foot level

Now, I like to zoom, as you said, I also like to hover a few inches off the ground, this saves wear and tear on my feet!

Keep practiving! At first, I had to work so hard to fly, now it is second nature and my preferred method of travel. I know you will learn, just keep practicing and believe in yourself! I believe in you!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

How about imagining that the air around you is water? So you could swim in the air. I've heard this trick from someone, but I've never tried it since I never had problems with flying. Anyway, I had problems with summoning things and I practiced it and now I can summon simple things. I guess it's just about practice.

I'm sure you will some day (or night) fly like you never had any problems with it

I shall try to increase my self confidence like seeker said, because I heard that you can't fly inless you believe, I'm going to start floating too, not jumping, I always fall on my face, it sort of fallows a quote I came up with, in RL seeing is believing, in a dream believing is seeing.

Well, I can fly pretty much whenever I feel like it (see my inside a dream sage's dream movie on my w.page!). In a sci-fi, I can only fly & float & can never walk or swim! Sometimes I even morph into flying creatures, which is alot funner!

I'm pretty damn good at flying if I do say so myself

The way I usually get off the ground is just willing myself to float upwards.

Once I flew up and up and out of the atmosphere and into space, and to another solar system, with 2 stars orbiting round a planet in more than 3 dimensions. I was lucid, but everything after I artificially cleared away the clouds to reveal black inky space felt pretty fake, like I was almost just daydreaming :/
To contrast, my best flying experience was flying round a futuristic cityscape at night. It felt so awesome, when I flew downwards I could feel my belly go all wobbly, like the lovely sickening feeling when going down a steep fast bit on a rollercoaster.
I conclude (with the help of many assumptions) that flying is more fun when there is land and fixed landmarks under you.

If you're just starting out learning how, one good trick is to visualize yourself on a high cliff, on the top of a building or other precipice where you can then jump off... this may not work well if you have a fear of heights, yet it may also help you overcome such fears. I love imagining I'm at the top of half-dome overlooking Yosemite Valley, or at the top of a huge cliff, then jumping off and gliding. I've also imagined I was light like a feather and let myself be carried by the wind. Flying at will is easier once you've had practice.

Sometimes I cant fly that well,

But I believe the most important part is

      FAITH!

Believe you can fly. Run real fast, jump, and beleive that you are going to take off. The worst thing that has happened to me is that i crash, but i fly for a little bit so it gives me confidence.

I can usually fly, not too well but I CAN. Unfortunately it seems that in the last score of dreams I cannot fly at all, or can barely lift off the ground. I hope this is temporary
