The good thing about DILDs is that you can become lucid wherever you are in your normal dreams which I assume are not always in your room.

As far as vibrations go, every time I've attempted a WILD or DEILD, I get vibrations 100% of the time before entering the dream. In fact, once I reach the vibrations, it's pretty much a guarantee that a dream follows.
Perfect, so as soon as the vibrations start you can try visualizing the scene you want to arrive in. Sometimes you will only get something similar to what you imagined. You can also use any other sounds or sensations that you can imagine tying into the scene. I have heard static that sounded like a waterfall and I arrive at a waterfall...spinning sensation that I thought to myself during that moment felt like a roller coaster and there I was...jet engine like sounds that propelled me into the air and so on.

I sometimes use a mantra that I will notice the vibrations before I do the SSILD cycles since it seems to ramp up awareness before falling to sleep and I suspect they are always there upon dream entry if I am only aware enough to notice them. Occasionally I have trouble falling asleep as well but it often leads to an LD so I try not to "worry" about falling asleep (which helps you to get to sleep).

Do you fly? When you end up in your room, instead of phasing through the wall have you tried to walk out the front door? You mentioned dream control difficulties...are there any that you have had some success with that you can build from?
