I’m about to leave from work for home. Mom calls me to say it’s going to take an extra hour. She doesn’t specify, but I become exasperated, knowing it’s traffic. I just want to be home. I head out now, on a bike, and it looks like I’m downtown. I think I see some patches of snow, but there really isn’t any traffic. On the ride, I discover that the bike’s seat is too high for me, causing some awkwardness. I arrive home now, which is a large, empty feeling house. Mom and Makayla are here. Mom has bought me a bunch of NA beer, a kind I’ve never seen before. I try one and it’s not great.

I’m in the kitchen of some house (it feels similar to Mom’s). Looking through the window above the sink, the view is of a partially sunlit hill. It is tall and steep, slightly rocky, yet lushly green. The illuminated portions (it seems like a sun that’s close to setting) are vibrant and awe-inspiring. Maggie and Stella are out in the yard (which just seems like open space) and I think about calling them in.

    2. The Rain Dog

      by , 09-11-2018 at 05:37 PM (Bridger's Oneironautic Expeditions)
I'm in my car with someone else driving it. I'm somewhat worried about the noise my car is making as it's moving as it sounds like the suspension is creaking. We are headed downtown to go to some kind of bar, but there is a lot of traffic. We squeeze through the tight street and weaving through the pedestrians crossing before finally getting to our destination and parking in a parking garage. We enter the building and make our way downstairs. There are checkpoints along the way that we're supposed to stop at and have barriers blocking the way, but we just hurdle them and keep going. Once we're downstairs, It feels more like a Biolife donation center than anything else. We are all waiting for a seat to be available, when people start bringing around drinks. Apparently, it's a sample of wine and it's brought out in a large chilled mug but very thick, so that the diameter of the actual volume to hold the wine is only an inch or so wide. It tastes really good though and I feel like having more. We leave the building soon after this, taking the same route back out. Later, I'm outside my house in the rain when I see a dog limping. It's soaked from the rain and looking for shelter. I run back home telling it to follow me so that I can grab a towel. I run to the garage to find an old towel and run back to find the dog sitting patiently at the front door. I let it in and start drying it off.

    3. 1/19/17 (L) WILD, Layer 3 Minor | Traffic, Lost Green Rock

by , 01-19-2017 at 08:50 PM (Fantastical Adventures)
-1-A sister of mine was driving us west to a grandparent’s house to do some work and play D&D. On the way, I had a decent view of a forested, snow-capped mountain. This was viewed from a low bridge over a large, but calm river.

-2(L)-I entered the dream spawning at my old house at night. I jumped through the ”window” (that didn’t care to exist) and landed on the patio. Next, I performed one half of my routine, solidifying a Layer 3 for the time being. The second half would have really helped keep me lucid for longer. I first decided to teleport across the street.
      *Snap*
With a snap of the fingers, I was there. I preferred the other side, however, so I walked back to the side I was on previously. Next, I summoned 2 cars from the right. “Pause,” I said, with my hands in front me. Time then paused. I edited the vehicles’ speed, rewound time, and started it again. Then I summoned the rest of the traffic from both directions. Everyone had bright blue lights all over their vehicles, except for the SUV in front. I walked up to it and said,
      “This here’s a truck!”
      A DC said,
      “No it isn’t.”
I then slapped the SUV with both hands, instantly turning it into a truck. After that, I commanded the truck to move and it did. A couple DCs were like,
      “Ah, what the f***?”

All the remaining traffic slowly dispersed. Next, a story arc started.

      [Lost Lucidity Here]
The driver of the SUV-turned-truck had a large rock collection. (still near my old house, but it’s daytime now) There was a large box of them. Later, we had moved the box over to a grassy part of my yard. I was eating a green rock, which tasted like bad chocolate. There were 2 Spocks to my left—one in a blue uniform, the other in a white robe. I asked the robed one, “Do you think it’ll become a story arc?” (referring to the lost green rock, but not the one I ate) He said something I don’t remember, but he ended with a nod after I replied.

    4. 151115: Driving in a Truck that Becomes a Fallout Shelter

by , 11-15-2015 at 02:41 PM (The Dream Journal)
I'm driving a down a road, there is forest on either side, a grey day. I see a man on the right with his dog. He's stopped but I'm afraid that the dog might just jump in front of the car. It doesn't and I drive by. A see another man stopped by the shoulder of the road with his motorcycle, I see a lake he's looking towards. He's smoking a cigarette and the smoke get in the cabin of the truck as a drive, smells irritating.

Suddenly I see that the asphalt is new, there is road construction. Cars are coming right at me, another truck comes right at me on my side of the lane. I narrowly miss it, but with all the traffic coming at me, I'm afraid that this is a one-way road. I drive all the way to the side of the road in a panic. I go down a small side track, it leads to a downhill path. The truck dives down into the ground, burrowing into the earth. As I go down I see I'm in a fallout shelter, but looking back I see the light of the outside world getting dimmer and dimmer. I try to turn back but can't, the walls of the tunnel will cave in. I'm safe now in the shelter but trapped, like being buried alive.

by , 08-26-2015 at 03:50 PM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
Prev night: stole a combine with my mom and tried to harvest someone else’s field? Attempted to escape on motorbikes and was cornered in a shop/garage of some kind.

      ---

My in-laws come to pick up me and my brother at my old apartment building to drive us to school. It’s a five-minute walk, but it’s nice of them to offer. When we get to the school, traffic is being redirected away from the parking lot out into the county. We drive a few minutes before getting to another school where their kids go, and we have to… walk back into town? Maybe there’s a shuttle?

      ---

I’m at my old apartment building talking to S. She’s apparently using the laundry at this building because it’s a nicer laundry facility than any other place in the city. I’m trying to work the laundry machine, but I’m having trouble sorting out delicates from the other stuff, especially because as I’m sorting them, the basket/machine is filling with water, soaking the clothes. I start finding monopoly money that looks really similar to real money, and I joke with S that it’s just like that fake million dollar bill. Apparently she’s brought a monopoly set so that people can play it while they’re waiting for their laundry.

      ---

I wake up lying in the street. I’m obviously not in the city I thought I was in. I hear fabric flapping, and I see that I’m in a valley of some kind. Near the top of a nearby mountain, there are a series of flags flapping in the breeze. I remember that I want to attempt to teleport, but I don’t remember where I want to teleport to, so I decide to just go with a previous dream, because it’s fresh in my memory. I aim for the apartment building.

Things are hazy, but I close my eyes and picture it. I open my eyes a couple of times and have wound up in the wrong place, but I try again until I reach the apartment building.
Now that I know where I am, I continue with my road trip.
    6. The Feast, Nanna Wanders Into Traffic (19.8.15)

      by , 08-21-2015 at 11:50 PM (CHiLLEN's Dream Journal)
      The Feast
I was at a girls house and she kept making me food. I was sitting on the couch eating it. Her family grabbed some food off the plate also. The brother took a cake which had pink icing around it. I was left with a pie which was awesome. The pastry was nice and crunchy. I kept eating and eating like an endless pit.

I walk into the bathroom and have a wank to get myself ready for a some action later.

      Nanna Walks Into Traffic
My Nanna with old timers is driving a smallish car. She's confused on what to do. I get out of car and get here out and getting her to go into the back seat. There's traffic near us and I have to push the car back into a correct position. I struggle at first, but get it done. I get into the drivers seat and drive away. Nanna gets out and walks straight into traffic. I ask whoever was in car to go and get Nanna. I make a u-turn which takes me longer then usual to compete the rotation. I park car in a safe area. I walk over to see how Nanna was. I ask the guy that got out and saved her, what she said. He said she asked him what's going on tomorrow. I wake up laughing at casual question after almost walking straight into traffic.
    7. Satan vs the Pew Pew Laser-Cat

by , 05-28-2015 at 06:21 AM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
In a crowded section of New York City, flames erupt from the sewers as Satan himself rises from hell and bursts through the pavement of the road ahead of me, sending cars flying through the air and people running and screaming in all directions. He has a gang of demons around him, all made of flames, forming a painful looking perimeter of death and destruction around the Devil.

I am holding a dark gray cat, almost black, with white on its face and some of its paws I don't remember picking it up, but it seems to like being held. I cradle it on its back like a baby in my left arm, against my side, and hold its tail out in front of me like a cannon. I aim it at the Devil and make my best "Pew Pew!" noises. Almost like a "pshhyeeeoo!!!" As I make my very best laser noises, bright blue laser beams shoot out of the cats tail. They move through the air at about the speed of a jogger, so Satan easily dodges them.

I run toward Satan, aiming the cat's tail a few paces ahead of him and with "Pew Pew Pew Pew!" shoot four slow moving lasers out of the cat's tail into Satan's path. I almost got him this time! With great enthusiasm I go wild with my best "Pew Pew!" noises, filling the streets and alleys with blue lasers. 'If I shoot lasers everywhere, I can't miss.' I tell myself.

Satan dives behind a sky scraper and out of sight. I pre-fire a few laser blasts from the cat's tail down the next street in case he tries to run for it, and then run down the alley to cut him off before he can get away. He gave me the slip somehow, and I haven't got a clue where to find him now. I find myself at a busy intersection, looking every which way as traffic flows through. Next to me is a fire fighter and a cop. They look at me, then at the cat I'm cradling in my arm, and then at how I'm holding the cat's tail out in front of me with my other hand, and then look back to me.
"Check this out" I tell them as I aim the cat's tail in a harmless direction and say "Pew Pew Pew!" sending three bright blue laser beams slowly through the air.
"That's pretty cool" they tell me.
      "I know, right?!"
"Aren't you going to film it or take a picture or something?" The firefighter asks me.
"No, I don't think anyone really needs to know about this. Plus I've gotta get Satan"
They both give me an understanding nod, and I start walking away as I think about where to look.

    8. Snowboarding

by , 03-09-2015 at 09:19 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Snowboarding down a huge mountain, I find a lot of snowboarder / skier traffic, and can't go where I want to very easily. I bomb it down a hill, and turn to my right to go over a small hill to another part of the mountain, but while avoiding the other people, I lose too much speed. I have to dance side to side and walk the board up the rest of the way. Then it's fairly clear, not many people, and I hit a few jumps sticking out of the deep powder. I slow down in one turn, and find out that the powder is up to my neck! I lean into the mountain, and pick up some more speed to stay on top of the powder, and make some easy turns the rest of the run down the mountain. It's so peaceful and beautiful here.

Another quick recap...gotta keep up with my DJ with Sensei's competition starting tomorrow night (for my time zone). I can move whole cars to get around traffic jam (like imaginings IWL)! Aha. then fly around cityscape! Void or DEILD without sense of body IWL...felt different from normal void and a little uncomfortable making me wonder if slight sense of REM atonia but not return to bed feeling present normal dream exits. Scene reforms at a parking garage try to fly, odd back to ground to slither. Awnry old ladies...prank them a bit. Homeless guy-think of past LD punches on DC's but no interest. Float around fun. Find a petite 20's Jennifer Aniston longer hair in a nice silky short dress. Undress multiple sexy layers. Touch. Super petite...wow. Sex.

    10. Car Crash (minor)

by , 01-08-2015 at 02:09 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
I'm driving my mom's car for the first time in a while, and am having a grand old time doing 360s on the snowy road, while avoiding crashing into the other traffic on the road. I turn up a hill to my right and the back end of the car whips around half way, I turn the wheel the other direction, slam it in reverse and put the pedal to the floor, causing the car to do 2 complete spins. I'm heading toward a big snow bank, so I turn the wheel the other way and keep the pedal to the floor. The car starts going back down the hill toward the road. It's really slippery, so I start turning about a hundred feet before the road. Sliding sideways pretty fast now, I keep my foot on the gas and power slide out into the main road. Another car is coming the opposite direction. I do some fancy maneuvering with the steering wheel to get out of the power slide and just barely avoid the oncoming car. Close call there. Now on the main road, I'm just driving normally. Another car comes, but it is really straddling the center line. I move over to avoid it, but it's too far on my side. I spin my car sideways to avoid a head on collision, and just tap the front headlight of the other car with the rear bumper of mine. I pull over into the nearby store to see if the other car is damaged or not. She has already pulled in, and the store owner and her are looking at the car. I get out, turn the car off, and walk up, seeing a bunch of fluid pouring out of the other car. It looks like radiator fluid. At least it's coming out of the radiator, it really looks just like water. The store owner says, "You might want to add some oil or antifreeze to it." The other driver looks at her, gets a really upset look on her face and yells back, "Really?!? Obviously I'll have to add more coolant to it! How could I not?" I notice a pipe has come completely loose. If that pipe could just be welded back on, she'd be good to go. I think about possible repair costs and mechanic labor. Looking at the pipe again, a new pipe might not be that expensive, it's a straight tube going between two fittings. So one pipe, one fitting, and an hour tops to weld it, can't be much more than $200. I'm relieved that it won't be very expensive because I'm broke. Although it's really ironic that I didn't crash at all while messing around, but only when I started to drive safely that something happened...
    11. Contrasts

by , 11-21-2014 at 01:09 PM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
Night. I was on the second floor. I dropped a yellow-and-black boomerang on the roof below, and then it fell on the ground. A guy passed by. I asked him to throw it up, but he missed twice. I told him it's okay, I'll just pick it up later. I think I thought of making a move on him. A name: Maranao, a local tribe ("People of the Lake (Lanao)"). (I don't think I've thought of the name for years).

Day. We were dancing along the street. We were practicing. I recognize Kris.

Night. Traffic in a rather woody area. I was in a building. I imagined EDSA (highway), with all the night lights of its tall buildings and cars.

Day. I was in a desert. I was a creature or a monster of sorts. Lizard-like. Nearby, there are people/buildings. Blood samples from a frozen plant.

Night. I was going up the third floor. Saw someone there, someone I like. I forgot the name/face.
    12. Prince and the River

by , 11-16-2014 at 05:39 PM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
I was in a field. There are many people. It's really crowded. There was a young prince we're supposed to protect/attack. A child? There's a decoy.

The "prince" was on a runaway horse, and it went directly to traffic/the highway. I chased after it (not sure how; skateboard?). I was able to get rescue him and avoid dangerous cars. We kept going.

The prince is a puppy (or some sort of small animal). I was in a forest-like area. People are making offerings there for safety and wishes. I wished that the pet/prince have a peaceful life in a farm. Something about organic.

I was talking with a small group of people. One is the scientist Reina. We were in an area close to the Pasig river. We were talking of making river "buses" to go throughout Manila. Reina said this isn't viable.
    13. Do you like my teddy bear now?

      by , 11-20-2013 at 06:24 PM
After my Japanese Dragons dream I went back to sleep using WILD. I was lucid from when I first entered the dream. I was a little girl sitting in a black room with a giant teddy bear. There was a corridor I went down there carrying my teddy bear and there was a door. I remember that if there is a door it can lead to wherever you want it to. I tried to go to Japan. Sure enough when I opened the door there was Japan! I walked through the door there were lots of light and people and busy traffic. I walked up to a random Japanese DC and asked if he liked my teddy bear. He said "no". I turned into Charizard and used my flamethrower on him. I said "Do you like my teddy bear now?" He was now laying on the floor looking all burnt. He replied "If I say no you are just going to use your flamethrower again wont you?" I knew myself that if he were to say no I would of used my flamethrower again on him so I woke up laughing. That was the funnest dream that I have had in a long time!

    14. Bellhop Spider Monkeys and Jar of Venomous Spiders

      by , 06-06-2013 at 12:06 PM
Morning of June 6, 2013. Thursday.

The main scenario in one dream features me being younger (possibly around thirty years of age) and apparently with my own bed lined up from a north wall to the south in a fairly large unfamiliar room. To my right on the west side of this room is a smaller end table with a large vase-like yellowish and greenish lamp with a floral design and with a beige gingham lampshade. Also on the table is a large squarish jar which contains a few dangerously venomous spiders. The jar and the lamp take up most of the tabletop. Three smaller spider monkeys dressed as bellhops in black, red, and shiny gold come in now and then. Because they are “bellhops” I might be inclined to think I am in a small hotel room.

There is a concern that the monkeys had been near the jar and let some of the potentially dangerous spiders out, so at one point I yell at them to leave everything alone, but then I see that the only spiders outside the jar are smaller harmless ones with light brown and white stripes. They are making small webs between the lamp, table, and wall. The ones in the jar are larger and black and look like miniature tarantulas. I puzzle over why I have decided to keep venomous spiders in a jar near my bed but then an old saying is clear in my mind - “Keep your friends close but your enemies closer”. There is no fear or substantial concern when I view the dangerous spiders through the glass jar.

“My” monkeys seem well-behaved and devoted to their tasks and are mostly only around to serve me in cleaning and taking care of potential impositions (such as annoying visitors, by pretending to take them to my room while actually ushering them straight out into busy traffic).
    15. After the Storm

      by , 02-07-2013 at 04:27 PM
This was a nice, very vivid LD where I was reunited with a long-gone childhood pet. It was more difficult than usual to connect to my tasks and goals. In fact, I could remember very little from waking life. I'm wondering whether this is because it was galantamine night, which required me to use an extremely short WBTB.

And my ever-reliable nose pinch RC let me down!

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #63: After the Storm

I'm walking with my 3-year-old E in the back yard of what I think is our family home. The yard is vast, wild, and overgrown. As we walk, a Golden Retriever comes up to us and starts sniffing my hand. He looks almost exactly like the dog that I had when I was a kid, but I dismiss this as coincidence.

I wonder how this dog got into our yard. E, the dog, and I walk to to edge of the property and I see that the entire fence is destroyed. Nothing but a couple of snapped fenceposts remain. Looking further out, I see that our next door neighbor's house has been utterly destroyed.
I think that this must be a dream. I perform the nose pinch reality check and can't breathe. I try it again and still can't breathe. "Oh shit," I think. "This is really happening."

The three of us walk further through town. Everywhere we look, houses are toppled and people sift dispiritedly through the rubble. I tell my son, "E, I think there's been a big tornado. Daddy's going to figure this out."

We walk across an empty four-lane road. Some of the shops on this road are open, which strikes me as odd. I RC again, pushing my finger into my palm.
My left hand stretches like stiff taffy and I know that this is a dream.

I look down at the Golden Retriever and realize that he really is the same dog that I had when I was a boy! He's been gone almost fifteen years but now he's somehow standing right in front of me. I scratch him behind the ears. He just looks off into the distance with that big, goofy doggy grin. Even though I know that this is all a dream, it feels like a reunion.

E pets the Golden and starts fiddling with his ears. The dog pants and stares contentedly up at the sky. I decide that now is the right time for me to break off on my own.

I walk further along the road. I know that I had lots of plans for this lucid dream but I can't remember any of them. As I'm pondering this, a steady flow of traffic starts on the road and in a few seconds, cars are whizzing by in both directions. I remember a conversation with Xanous and Alyzarin about how they like to play in traffic during lucid dreams.

I start walking across the road. I'm halfway across when I suddenly realize that the cars are driving on the left side of the road (like in Great Britain or New Zealand.) The next thing I know, a small, strange, open-topped car is barreling toward me. Suddenly I'm scared that this car is going to flatten me and I try to force-push it to the side. The little car swerves to the left and its brakes squeal. I float up into the air, drifting slightly away.

The car has stopped and its driver, a woman of about 30, is leaned forward toward the steering wheel. Her eyes are squeezed shut as if she's in pain. I run or fly to the side of her little open-topped car, freaked that I've hurt her somehow when I did that force-push. "Are you okay? Are you okay?"

She doesn't respond, but she's clutching at her stomach. There's something horribly wrong with her. Her stomach is badly distended, stretching all the way down so that it rests on the floorboard of her car. I pick up her enormous, stretched stomach off of the floor and start feeding it back into her body. It takes some effort, but in the end it spools smoothly back into her torso as if nothing had ever happened.

She looks at me and smiles. I notice for the first time that she's incredibly attractive and I kiss her.
(Guess I got over the stomach thing!) I pull away before I get myself totally distracted and she drives off, waving as she goes.

Again I try to remember my goals and again they won't come. I finish crossing the road and leap about twelve feet into the air, perching on a crumbling arbor by the side of the road. I look out over the ruined city and see that the destruction stretches for miles. I can't even seem to find my house anymore. Is the destruction getting worse? What's happening to this place?

I consider where to explore next but
      the dream soon ends.
