    1. 4 August - 1st time flying and TotM

      by , 08-05-2021 at 08:03 PM
      comment non-lucid (shortened) lucid

I was sitting at a table with a guy I liked and I asked him something (in Czech). I realized that I was in an international group and that he wouldn't understand me, but that if it was a dream he would understand me. He asks me some follow-up question, which makes it unclear if he didn't understand or misheard. I answer it in English. He answers in Slovak, which satisfies me - it makes sense that he understood my Czech. I continue talking to him in a mix of Czech and English.

I used to have some language-induced LDs. These days, similar situations usually end as only semi-lucid (I know that people in my dreams understand everything). This was almost there…

In another dream, I'm running errands in Prague, walking down a street in the centre, I want to catch a tram. I think about the previous dream - I set an intention for the next night so I don't make the same mistake again. Anyway, it's a pity that I haven't managed to fall asleep again after that dream, otherwise, I would have had a good chance...
...How do I know this isn't a dream? It doesn't seem likely to me that it is. But thinking about it, I don't really have any reason to be here...
      RC confirms. Nice.

I'm in the mood for a different experience today than yesterday. I recall Sageous's thread and the memory exercise. I know I'm not in Prague, and I know I'm sleeping. I recall my birth year. Then the exact date of birth. Easy. Highly lucid, I think, ready for anything
(not as much as I thought at the time, but it wasn't bad).
Goals? TotY, TotM, and teleportation training. I tell myself that TotM - asking a DC which part of my subconscious they represent - is easy and a good place to start.

I turn the corner and approach a woman. I excuse myself and ask her, "Which part of my subconscious do you represent?"
She looks confused and scared and doesn't know what to answer. She tries to talk her way out of it, so I let her go.

The city around here isn't much like Prague anymore. It has a vibe somewhere between the multicultural neighborhoods of Western European cities and third-world countries. There are more women around with headscarves. I don't want to ask them in case I scare them. I also notice there are a lot fewer people around than there were at the beginning. I want to go back to the center.

I tell myself that an experienced LDer would fly, but I still can't fly. Just taking off probably won't work, it's never worked for me. I decide to try high jumping.
1st jump - I jump higher than I would in reality and the man who passes me looks at me in surprise.
I bounce again, and I'm even higher, about 2-3m, which still isn't enough, but gravity already has a weird feel.
I bounce once more, this time bending my legs a lot to bounce, and gravity is already completely broken, like it was in the Defying Gravity dream. I do a half backflip and float in the middle of nothingness, seeing only solid grey above me. As I realize there's no reason for me to land backwards on my hands, I flip forward again and the street reappears in my field of vision. I use swimming motions to orient myself and dive into the air in front of me. I'm flying!
Occasionally, I'll add a swimming stroke, but my clothes restrict my full range of motion. I'm losing altitude a little, but very slowly. I started at roughly streetlamp level and flew about 200m before I landed on the ground again. Cool!

I want to give the TotM a second try. There's a small market in a side alley. I approach a group of people, same question as before. They look confused and I notice they're really young, young teenagers. So I explain it to them in more detail.
"There's a theory," I say, "that all the people in the dreamworld, except for me..." a girl interrupts me: "Why except you?", but someone shushes her.
"All the people in the dreamworld, except me," I repeat, and continue, "represent a tiny part of my subconscious. And I have an assignment that my mother gave me" (this seems like an ok lie) "to ask some people what part of my subconscious they represent. So what part do you represent?"
The children seem attentive and understanding. One boy starts to say something but stops after two words and it doesn't make sense. Someone says they don't know. Someone else says something evasive. So I thank them and say ok. It doesn't get any better than that. Done.

Teleportation. There are lots of doors and lots of walls around, lots of opportunities for different techniques. There's even a box that has doors on 4 sides! But I want to go somewhere farther.

My lucidity has gone downhill from here. I want to fly more, but I'm carrying strange silver plates. I want to tie them to my waist with a towel so I can fly, and a woman is helping me, but it's not really holding. Then I think about leaving them in this locked chest I have with me, but I find it's full of silver coins with wolf images on them.
A merchant shows up and offers to trade me silver for gold so I can have a smaller volume of stuff. He's got these dodgy coins, pale greenish-yellow, don't look like high purity. He wants to know if my Witcher coins are genuine, and he wants me to prove myself to him with a Witcher pen. I remember that I lost the pen in the previous dream. The deal is off.

      I wake up.
    2. TOTM Success, and LD Meditation

      by , 06-25-2020 at 04:35 PM
I typed this up in great detail, and then the page reloaded and didn't save any of it. SO here's the much shorter run down.
MCT oil, raw honey, melotonin, and tincture blend (African dream root, bobinsana root, blue lotus, calea z, mugwort, lemon balm, damiana) around 10:45, asleep by 11. Multiple dreams and multiple Lucids, woke up several times but the dreams continued each time, so here's the important stuff I remember.

Theres a party in my apartment, lots of people are hanging out. Someone does a hit of coke in my kitchen, causing me to question the situation. I look at my hands. Tooooo many fingers. I tell someone else to look at her hands, she agrees with me, this is a dream.
I go to my room to go to bed, the apartment is empty now, my roommate says something to me. I look at my hands again, yes this is still a dream. I grab some pillows off my bed, sit on the floor to meditate. Several Om Mani Padme Hums later, I open my eyes. My room is no longer my bedroom, but a concrete industrial type room with floor to ceiling windows on the two outward facing walls. This is sharper, more in focus than any lucid dream I've had in a long time, the meditation was well worth it. I decide to seek the McDouble I've been after in several of my last lucids. I turn toward the windows, expecting to break one and jump out, but to my surprise theres a window that opens easily, and a staircase leading to the ground. I walk down, and think of the task of the month. A breeze starts up, cooler and fresher than it has any right to be.
As I walk through this city scape, I look at the DCs and am aware they are simply projections of my subconcious. I lock eyes with one, he knows what I am thinking.
Strawberries grow like weeds against a building. I pick some, a nearby tree whacks me with its branches, these are not my strawberries.
I see my families old tan van, I climb in, find Mcdonalds bags (clearly full of trash). I search one anyways, hoping to find a McDouble. My mother is in the drivers seat, says she'll take me to a McDonalds. She drives, and as she is on a collision course with a wall, I close my eyes. I open them, and now we're at McDonalds. We're so close, my McDouble dreams are coming true. I place my order, get my burger, take several bites so big I finish nearly half the sandwhich at once. No ketchup. I wander the store, find a ketchup bottle on a shelf, douse my burger, take some more bites. Perfect.
I sit at a long table, my mother to my right, the people from the party filling the other seats. Soon we are all eating chocolate covered strawberries, which are much tastier than the burger. My mother and I fight about my unhealthy eating habits, but I tell her this is a dream and I can eat whatever I like. She leaves.

I wake up for the final time.
During one of the times I woke up, I had my usual false awakening during which I thought I was writing in my DJ, only to wake up and find out that never happened. This occurs at least once every night.
    3. TOMTM- Basic I -feel the wind blowing- succeeded!

      by , 06-24-2020 at 04:04 PM
I'm venturing on an unknown street, can't remember where I was coming from.., it's night time. I passed a sign on the right side of the street, I take a quick look, it's sort of educational, but wait I saw a middle finger picture on it?!. At this moment I'm looking 360 *, like if I have eyes on the back of my head, about 3 feet away, letters are mixed hallway letters and the rest pictures. I Walk back, to take a closer look. All lettering and pictures keep changing, I say: yes! is a dream!, I look in the dark sky, with a bright moon semi-covered w/clouds.., "thank God" I start rubbing my hands together, (for the first time in a while!) about 3 sec. dream time.
Now I keep walking in the opposite direction. I say on my head: "Now let's feel the wind!! ". A comforting cool breeze arrives, fresher than normal WL temperature, I could feel it on face and arms..It's pitch black
..Did I close my dream eyes??
Then dream shifts, I Appear inside one of those huge dinosaurs, inflatable suits. My perception shifts outwards, I'm looking at a cropped view of it, the neck, I know I'm inside... now what?? I started waking up around 3. I hear the dream clue from my phone right afterwards...

    4. Totm - fail

      by , 05-13-2018 at 09:10 AM
Finally got lucid after several failed DEILDs with nested FA (kept waking up in the non-lucid dream, then trying to sleep and get lucid in the dream, failing, waking up again in the non-lucid dream and telling friends how I was attempting to lucid dream but had failed. This happened several times.)

At last, woke in in RL, did not move, did a brief SSILD, and started to transition in to the dream. It was here where I made a concentrated effort to hold on to awareness, it was like a fight, a struggle to keep the awareness but I made it into the dream in some house. I yelled in joy that I finally got lucid, that I was dreaming. I crawled on the floor, ran through the hallways, saw somebody and told them they were not real, just a character in my dream, ended up in the kitchen and remembered a TOTM about chocolate cake. Looked around, nothing....said to myself I will open the fridge and there will be chocolate cake. I opened the fridge, nothing, no cake.

    5. Task of the Month for May 2015

      by , 05-26-2015 at 02:20 PM
Was having a nld it was around 5 am I woke up and realised I must put my mind more into LD mode so started imagining myself coming Lucid by looking at my hand s and then saying I am dreaming - then I wanted to remember where my body was in bed and say my name out loud and some other names I have that friends call me coz I have been reading the great thread started by Sageouse about memory ( which I really like and am still reading as there is sooo much more to LDreaming as everyone keeps saying on that thread!)

Anyway this time I forgot all that and remembered I wanted to try for the task of the month when Ny told me about it in last message. So I wanted to smell and taste a lovely ripe pear - so I did !

I was going along in my NL and feeling quite perky I started to engage with some of the DC around me, flirting, so I started getting the feeling of Lucidity in that way I think ... So I came to the end of a row of DC and I saw a deep dark pool of water - just from one second to the next I knew I had to dive into the water to get Lucid/ so I jumped - it was very dark and deep so didn't feel that great but suddenly I knew this was a dream and remembered my goal. I imagined a pear floating towards me and took hold of it and smelt it- yes it smelt like a pear - I bit into it - yes it tasted yummy like a pear - I woke up soon after this as the water was not that enjoyable ; dark, murky etc.

Lucidity was not vast - I noticed my dreaming space was quite small - I could not see far around me - it will be great to see far and wide one of these Lucid Dream day/Nights

So I think that means I have done a totm!? If so its my first

    6. A ToTM? Jogging

      by , 04-08-2015 at 04:12 PM (GDreamer's spaghetti)
I'm halfly lucid . I don't know that its not a dream but I know that I can do anything.
I'm in another city , Near my friends house, I SENSED.
Even though I didnt know where I was , I knew I'm halfway to the city where my friends house is
      around 5km away.
I start to run in the suburban, Soonly I start to get really fast.
And then I feel energy in my legs and now I start to get veeery veery fast.
I'm dashing through the air I take steps like jumping , I run of course, but every step is around 30m long.
I'm fast as hell and I'm really happy about that.
Everything is vivid as I going through this suburban , The houses, the gardens , a school ,and then houses again.
I jump over a car passing by , then an old woman, its hilarious how fast I am.
I sense when the way changes direction and I just going through streets like water, very swiftly .
I arrive at my friends house, with my other friends, and we plan to drink something , then everything falls apart
and now the house is a void place , the ladders are floating in the nothing, even the other parts of the room,
Some weird things happen, we go up and down , then we get high.
After the party is ended I tell them I go home.
Its night , I start to run again fast As f***.
Awesome speed, the night sky is clear, stars are shining, and I'm going with godspeed.
As this way I go home and arrive in my city in 10-15 minutes.
Before I achieved home the dream ends.

    7. Turn Down for What?

by , 07-13-2014 at 11:12 AM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Standing in a rather plain room. Empty walls, beige carpet. I begin hearing the intro music for "Turn Down for What" and start acting like the character from the intro to the music video. Before any lyrics start, I realize I'm dreaming, and want to combine it with the TOTM. The first one I think of is to get naked. I think about how I'm going to do both, and wake up before doing either.

// I was thinking rather introspectively, to the exclusion of everything I was doing. Maybe that woke me up?

      >> Next time: Try thinking while still interacting with the dream.
    8. Ending a dry spell, and ToTM in the nick of time.

      by , 03-26-2014 at 11:10 PM
My lucid dream starting like many of my dreams lately, with me standing up with some effort. I thought I was dreaming, but I also thought I might be actually standing up IRL (which ~has~ happened to me before!), but I quickly realized I was dreaming. I walked around to find somewhere. No one else was around. At one point I turned a few corners and ended up at like a dead end. I stared at the wall and just stared, and that made me feel like it was going to make me lose lucidity, so then I walked away and relaxed my focus and that seemed to help. At one point I meandered into a room where there was a bed (I had been seeking) and it looked like there was a naked man in it, but the scene did not last long enough to be specific.

Later and lucid I completed a DreamViews Task of the Month. In my dream, I saw this lady walking at a distance and I shouted over to her, "WHAT IS YOUR MIDDLE NAME", but we were too far to hear each other, but as she drew closer (we were kinda going parallel but converging), I asked again, and she said Judith. Then, a couple other dream characters showed up and it seemed like I was gonna get a line of DCs all wanting to tell me their middle names! but I wasn't actually even told another one.

Later, and less lucid but still aware of the context, I remembered feeling like I was in a cramped space with rowdy people, and so I didn't feel exactly safe or at ease, kinda like a tailed animal around a lot of feet and legs.
    9. [DILD] Hunted Soldiers/Shifting Room

      by , 12-14-2013 at 11:39 PM
      Date: 12-15-13
      Time: 9:21 P.M. - 6:58 A.M.
      Technique(s) Used: SSILD
      ____________________
I wake to the start of multiple cries, and realize I'm in a group. Apparently, soldiers have taken our homes, and used them as refuges for a long time. We were ready to be rid of them, and their tyrrany.

I was the leader, and asked the people if they had any ideas. One said that they all went into a store at a certain time of the day - right now, in fact. I ask around, asking what we should do.

One of the people spoke up, saying we should lay a trap. We all comply with this, and begin to set it.

We used C6, a highly explosive substance, as the killer. We set it, and are ready to go, until the one that set it mentioned that one should stay behind. I volunteered, and told everyone to leave. I bring up a rifle, and position myself near the door, a safe distance away.

Three of them walked out, and were instantly consumed by blazing heat and cold stones. One runs out, trying to go left, but I take him out easily.

One dives for cover, which prompted me to draw him out. I went around, and he makes a dash for a long tunnel in the middle of the area. I steady myself, breath deeply, and prepare for his arrival.

The soldier suddenly pops out, like a gopher, right into my red dot sight. Two clicks of the trigger, and he is dead.

A little HUD piece popped up in my vision, telling me I'd only gotten five out of the seven that had come here. I dropped the rifle and begna to search around for the other two.

I was taken to a dog daycare, which was one of the houses with a large fence around it. I walk in, and sign my name on the in/out sheet. I'd been here before - my signature was there from two days ago.

I give the woman $5 as she rattles on about her navy experiences to her friends. I was going to go inside her house, but the door led me into darkness.
      ____________________
I am in bed, but not my usual bed. Next to me was another bed, housing my brother and a dog. The TV was on, playing some cartoon.

I wondered why the dog never slept with me, and instantly the dog jumped to my bed. I was too big, the bed too small, which left no room for the dog to sleep. It (For I didn't know its gender) hopped back to my brothers bed, and rested.

In the blink of an eye, the room shifts. I'm close to the door now, still in bed, but now my dad is in the room, smiling.

The dog jumps at him, and jumped into him, as if he were a portal. I did a reality check, and realized that I was dreaming.

My brother said, "Cooooool, we're dreaming!" right after.

I was about to get up and leave, but my dad said "Wait, I want to show you something." Interest piqued, I sat down.

He handed me a red plastic cup, and tol me it was cookies and creme. I tilt it in my mouth, but nothing comes out. Suddenly, a burst of flavor fills my mouth and throat. I had to shut my eyes in ecstacy.

Right then, I remembered Basic Task II. I slowly counted to 10 with my fingers, still drinking from the air in the cup. When my eyes opened, the room had shifted yet again.

I was in the far corner, the room darker now. A light hum and a gentle glow permeated my senes, prompting me to go investigate. It was a computer hooked up to a toaster.

I type in coffee, and out pops a thin and tall pop-tart. I take it, and take a bite, surprised to have it taste flaky, instead of hard. The coffee taste was sweet, with an underlying tone of bitterness
(Usually, I put a bunch of creamer in coffee - I dislike it most of the time).

I go outside the door, and are taken into a schoolroom. There was a mansion model on one of the desks, and it must've been for me, for my last name was on it. I investigate the model, only to soon awaken.
