    1. Wait... what the hell are my lines?!?

by , 04-21-2011 at 10:12 AM (Brainy Vapours)
I am in some school play production type of thing, which is also an assignment worth quite a bit of credit. My character is this tough street kind of girl who looks out for and protects her friends. There are three or four other groups who are performing their routines now. I know that we are the last group to perform.

I am getting more and more tense, feeling like I can't remember my lines at all. Not even one line! It's time to change into my stage costume, which is some oversized overall kind of things. I leave the auditorium and go searching around the school for a place to change. I can't find one and end up spending ages of valuable time searching. I eventually find a kind of shower nook, there is a small girl in there, which I shoo out. As I am digging through my bag trying to get things out that I need, I also search for my cue cards that have my lines on them. I can't find them. I wrote the script for this play so I don't understand how I could forget all of my lines! After someone helps me with getting my clothes on, my mobile rings. It's one of the girls from the play. She's all excited to announce to me that I will be performing a solo song at the end of the performance. I freak out, starting to cry, asking her why she thought this was a good idea, who approved the idea, and what the hell I am supposed to sing?!? She seems shocked into silence and I hang up on her.

Bolting back to the auditorium I find that the last group is finishing up there performance. Dream skip and I am up on the stage behind the closed curtain, in my place ready to start the play, but I still don't know my lines!
    2. Catching a Train

I was standing on the platform on a train station. It resembled, or at least in my mind it was a train station i know from real life.
But it wasn't the way it usually was, this time it was curved, and there was a staircase that lead down into a tunnel to my left. The staircase was in the right spot, and there was a platform on the other side of the rails, just like in real life. Difference was that the staircase lead downards, instead of up.
The train arrives. Me and a pair and perhaps a few others realize that we're on the wrong platform. I started running, down the tunnel to get there. I think I notice some people in the tunnel, but I don't remember what was different about them. I think it might have been a litle girl and some man talking on a phone.

When I get up on the right platform, I see on a sign that the right train arrives in 1 minute, and then realize that it's actually already here, and not only that, but it's already started moving. For some reason, it stops and lets me get in. There are 6 seats in every row, with still quite a lot of space to walk in. Looks more like the interior of a plane than a train, it has seperate seats with seat belts.
I'm stressed out from being in such a hurry, so I'm not thinking clearly, so I just quickly scan the room and sit down on the seat that's farthest away from the window and closest to the space where people walk past. I realize that there's a little girl sitting in the seat by the window, which makes me uncomfortable and anxious. Somehow we end up in a tickle fight, and another little girl joins in. No idea where she came from... [/COLOR]

    3. Adventures in a cluttered bathroom

by , 02-27-2011 at 11:28 AM (Brainy Vapours)
My friend Marianne and I are in a tiny bathroom trying to get ready to go out. The bathroom is very crowded and steamy, cramped with all kinds of products crowding all the surfaces, and clothes hanging all over the place. Marianne has come into the bathroom rather suddenly, which makes me sort of panic because I was in the process of stealing her shampoo to use on my hair, as I have countless times before, hoping she wouldn't notice. I fake that I was "just looking at it" and look at the other products. She helps me chose one from the other products that best suits my hair type, from the products in the cabinet mirror. After I put the shampoo in my wet hair, she gives me a tight hug from behind, and I notice she smells my hair. I think this is sweet, but a bit strange.

We are just about ready to go when she disappears for a second to call down to the pub to see what the drink and dinner specials are, she comes back and seems pleased with what she found out. She tells me to hurry and finish up so we can beat the crowd. I hurriedly climb back into the shower with my robe on, and the water is running, so my robe gets soaked. It's heavy and cumbersome so I struggle with it to get it off. I start dancing around in the shower, singing to myself, then Marianne comes back in again and is talking to me. She's talking about gas explosions and how scary they are while she tries to free the toilet area of its clutter. There are stacks of magazines under it and stuff all around it. She says that when the heater starts to shoot steam it's your warning to run like hell, because the gas explosion is imminent at that point. While she is de-cluttering she accidently rips the toilet off the wall. I notice that it's olive green, 70's style. We both watch in horror as she notices she's ended up putting her hands in the nasty part of the toilet, under the rim.
    4. Devon Sawa and SUVs - dreams I suddenly remember from 2000-01 and 2007

      by , 10-19-2010 at 07:49 PM (Journal #86)
10/19: I'm not sure why I'm thinking about something I dreamed about in 2001 and 2007, but like dreams I've had of James Lafferty before in 2007, it's left me cautious or unable to get a grasp on life the next day.

The last thing I remember before getting this dream the first time around in fall 2000 or spring 2001 was hearing this song being sung in a Jamaican accent at the end of a Steven Seagal film from 1990, Marked for Death. Then in this dream I see this country road with this fake board game on the floor that's based on the film Scream. I suddenly hear a young man screaming and wonder if it's someone in the van or is it the electronic game board. I wake up the next day (a Sunday), wondering who that was making that screaming sound.

The same dream happened around six years later after having an epic fail of a day in college (someone crying because someone wanted to do something and she wanted to do something else the day before, getting handed a loss in a game in class and the other team went nuts because my team lost, getting an unexpected friend request and group invitation on Facebook all in that order), my mind when I went to bed on February 15, 2007 wanted to make my bad day even worse. This time the screaming sound was different and sounded like the loudest scream heard in the Cruis'n games (the '90s arcade game series - USA, World and Exotica) from a male/female driver in traffic or a stalled computer-controlled opponent when you crash into them that sounds like a child (and the car you hit suddenly flips over or goes flying halfway across the screen if you went too fast). The dream made no sense a few scenes later and acted like the dream as explained above, except this time everything quieted down and I was in the passenger seat of what looked like a GMT800 (GMC Yukon), going for a ride down the country road again, and this time the driver resembled a young man in his 20s. I wake up at 5:30 am the next day, and all I could think of was someone I knew in high school and unable to get a leg up on life, and the next day in the computer lab, I go to Wikipedia and manage to put a name on the dream character, resembling Devon Sawa from films such as Casper and Final Destination (the first one). Maybe it was trying to tell me to get away from stressful situations?

I couldn't remember a hell of a lot from this dream when I woke up and it hasn't got any better in the days since but what I do remember is very strange. This is the first dream I ever recorded.

I have written down that a 'weird old man' gave me advice. I don't really remember this part well at all but I think it took place in a small hut on legs with a ramp leading up to it, kind of like something in World of Warcraft, which I haven't played in months.

The next bit is the thing I remember clearest from my dream but it's not vivid at all really. I remember taking the elevator up and looking out towards the ground, it was very high and I remember feeling kind of nauseous, which was kind of strange considering how much I have overcome my fear of heights. When we got to the top (there were a few other people with me) I saw very strange people, all wearing suits and sitting around in a circle. Me and the other people were forced to perform an activity together but I don't remember what it was, though something leads me to believe it was sex. The men in suits were judging us during the activity, I found the whole situation very uncomfortable. There was a reason we had to perform well and it caused me a bit of stress.

I then remember the activity being over and the people involved traveling somewhere else. It was very quiet and I don't remember much.

The dream seems to end there, looking back I am surprised I didn't realise I was dreaming, but I had only just started caring about Lucid Dreaming then.
