Think I'm comfortable sharing this dream from a few days ago.

Vaguely recall being in a vast training facility, complete with living quarters, for work.

Dream 1 - Mystic Scavenger Hunt
The visuals were a bit dim. I was in a small, darkened theater, a raised stage in the center. My brother, Joaquin, was also with me.

On stage was a slender, middle aged Asiatic woman in a purple robe. Golden jewelry clinked between her wrists and neck. More distinctly, she had elf-like ears. Soon, the lone performer begins an act. Stoic in expression, she gracefully, and slowly, spins with hands cupped together. With a flourish, spars flew out from splayed arms. She then points her palm at a brass candelabrum, and it begins to move. At this point, I suspect this was all a wire trick. I also get suspicious of the dream. So, I try moving the object telekinetally myself, but nothing happened.

Anyway, the performer magically retrieves said candelabrum. With a flick of her fingers, she lights it up. Just then, a starry, moonlit night sky appears above us. What's more, the theater's walls give way. Now, we see a series of vast series of excessively steep, grassy hills. Rail-less log bridges, spanning out for up to several miles long, connected each land form. Individual hill had distinct features, whether a series of garden plots, grain fields, an observatory, or other characteristics. It was a sight to behold...

The sorceress turns to the audience. A half a minute of silence follows. Then, she speaks briefly, offering merely that the viewers wander the sites at their own leisure. With that, the crowd go their own way.

I'm one of the last to actually wander out. I try to find Joaquin, but it seems he was way ahead of me. Oh well. I too go off in a random direction.

Eventually, I stumble into a picnic area, its furnishings of carved stone. An entire banquet was prepared here. A number of people were already serving themselves of the items available. From chatter, I overhear that elephant meat was on the menu. Finding that out left me feeling ambivalent (elephant meat is one of the few things I'd refuse to eat from a moral standpoint). In the end, I opted not to sample anything there.

After passing several more bridges, I made it to a hill lined with hedges. People were sifting through the foliage. Among them, I spotted Joaquin. I asked what everyone was doing there. During our exchange, he tells me this was part of a scavenger hunt, a piece if tidbit I (supposedly) missed out on earlier.

So, I join in this hunt. I pull at the roots of some plants, when I find a strange trinket: a spiral band of a kind made of gray earthenware. That, Jonathan tells me, is one of the many like objects we needed to find. He then explains that whomever finds the most wins a grand prize.

Enthusiastic, I continue the search at the other end of the hedge. look the other end of the hedge. There, I find yet another of those trinkets. I then look at another hedge, where I spot a bunch of energy bars, of all things, buried beneath. There were at least 30 pounds of the stuff, and a good variety too. I notified Jonathan, where he told me that there were a lot of consolation prizes scattered about as well.

Although I wanted to keep those bars, there was no way I could carry all of that. So, I muttered to Jonathan that I would go off and find a sack to allow such. To get to that end, I said I'd "cheat" by floating back to the site's entrance.

But before I left, I also noticed a metal rod sticking out from under a hedge. At first, it seemed to be an auto-sprinkler. But, upon handling it, I found that it was a dial. I slowly turned it, when, to my surprise, the moon above was altered. The moon slowly cycled between it's phases, before vanishing entirely. I'd the thought of messing around with it some more, just to play a joke on the sorceress. But, in the end, I just returned the dial back to how it started.

Anyway, I continued my way back out. Turning at a wide chasm, I made a mighty leap, then began gliding all the way across. Sure enough, I made it back to the theater.

Things got unclear from that point. I don't remember how the dream ended.
    2. Fragments Again

by , 08-26-2012 at 11:42 PM (Fennecgirl's Collection of Dreams)
I had a dream last night that involved collecting pieces of candy (Smarties - the American kind - to be specific) and making note of which ones we found on a chart. The candy was all hidden in my living room, and the chart was on the dining room table (we have a combined living room/dining room/kitchen area, all as one big room).

In the next dream, I was watching some weird TV show, in which a school nurse went crazy and killed one of the kids.

I woke up after that but soon went back to sleep and had a dream that I was checking Facebook and saw that one of my friends had spoiled the ending to The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (ironically, he's never played Skyward Sword IWL). I can't remember what he'd said, but I kind of wish I could remember, so I could see how close it compares with the actual ending when I finish the game IWL.

The next dream... I don't even know where to start with this one. I remember it. I can't recall anything I can really put into words. I can hardly even recall any images. I can barely even remember anything that happened. Yet I know that I can just... remember it - this feeling of acknowledgement of having dreamt it, I suppose.

I guess I'll try to write what I can remember and put into words. It was kind of dark. It was also a video game - and a rather frustrating one at that. I remember the mini-map in the corner. There were four dots on that map - two red and two yellow. The red ones were me, and the yellow ones were the enemy. I can't remember who/what I was, though, just that I was represented on the mini-map as two red dots.
    3. Cute Terrors

First Dream I'm in a baseball stadium, sitting high up in the nosebleeds. I'm not watching the game and I'm not even aware if there's anything going on in the arena. My attention is on the rowdy fans around me. Some are yelling and arguing. Eventually, fights start to break out. I've had enough of the pushy natures and left.

Second Dream I feel like I'm outside of the parking lot of the baseball stadium. But it's nightfall whereas the first dream took place during the day. There is a man, presumably my manager. There are other coworkers around me and our manager is busting a vein, completely chewing us out and telling us that we're worthless and threatens to fire us (for whatever job, I don't know). One woman in particular is an anime character, Celty from Durarara. He's picking on her the most. She begins to cry and I won’t stand for that.

I take her by the hand and lead her away from the scene. She's still very upset, so I suggest that we should drive off someplace where we can gather ourselves and feel better. We do. I'm riding on a motorcycle opposite to hers, and she texts me "Thank you, that was very nice of you." (she communicates via text) I laugh and tell her with my thoughts that it was okay. She's surprised and amazed by this. Celty asks how I can communicate with her through our thoughts, I reply that I'm lucid dreaming and I can do anything. When I think this, I ride faster and faster until I cannot see her beside me.

Third Dream I'm revisiting a haunted house I used to work at. The owners greeted me and showed me to the entrance so I could have a peek at this year’s new look. I'm appalled to see that the price of entry was $26! I refused to pay and the new workers are offended by this. The owners kindly show me in anyway without me spending a dime and I'm suddenly with an old friend that I used to have romantic feelings for. She's scared and clings to me, holding my hand while walking through the maze. One actor wearing a wolf mask greets me from behind and presses the muzzle of the snout against the back of my neck. It wasn’t a scary gesture at all. I shivered so violently and pleasantly that it almost wakes me. I shake that feeling of waking off and continue to walk with my friend.

There is a fork in the road of the maze. We chose the left side and it becomes a scavenger hunt. We have to find a ruby in each room we enter. It isn't very scary. The rooms are relatively normal and even cute. But my friend is more frightened than ever and that made me nervous. We were careful in the first two rooms, checking to see if there were monsters or anything of the sort that would hurt us, but there weren't any. I was relieved when we reached the last room. It looked like a fifteen year old girl's bedroom. It was painted red and white and pink. There were stuffed animals and heart plush toys everywhere.

My friend found the last ruby beneath the bed in the room and she silenced a scream when she looked back in the last room we came from. Inside there was a sleeping giant. It was so enormous I could only see its legs. When I told her that we had to creep out quietly, I felt a very sharp bristly gnawing sensation cuffed around my left ankle. Beneath the bed where my friend took the ruby, something was trying to pull me under with it. We both screamed and I woke.

Thoughts and Stuff When I woke up, I realized that my left ankle was scratching against the edge of my bed. It really freaked me out. It felt like the dream was still happening. And as calm as I was at first in the last dream, it really felt nightmarish. I'm not sure why. If you would like to share some insight, feel free.
    4. Failed Vision Quest

by , 06-20-2010 at 10:58 PM (Visions in the Dark)
I am young than I look now and wearing a grey and red poncho. I am in some sort of museum or cultural center focusing on North American Aborigonal Societies. I am there to participate in a vision quest and arrive late in the afternoon to recieve instruction on what to do. I am told by some Elders that this vision quest is more like a savenger hunt because I have to obtain seven various items from safes that are hidden around the facility. The safes are locked with complex systems that require finding the right item to open them, and not all of the items are plain keys, which are also hidden from plain view.

I see that there are several other young people in the meeting room, some I know in real life and some I know in the dream. They have already completed their vision quests and are just visiting the facility. One of the coditions of the vision quest is that I must find and do everything alone and cannot ask for help from anyone. I go over and say hello to some of the people I know but many of them outright ignore me or are reluctant to talk to me.

Evening comes and many people leave but I want to stay as late as I can and get as much of my vision quest done as I can. I walk through the facility and looks along all the walls and corners for hidden safes. I find one but it is locked and I do not yet have the key to open it. At first I am closely observed by some Elders who follow me around and take notes on my progress and discuss it amoungst themselves, but I lose track of them at some point and left to explore on my own.

I find by self on the second floor of the building and come to an area that is open to the floors below and is crisscrossed with wooded suspention bridges. The only way to the other side is across the bridges and as I start to cross I notice two Tolkien inspired elves standing in the middle of one, observing my movements and loudly discussing me. One elf looks like Peter Jackson's version of Elrond and the other is a dark haired elf with a stern look on his face.

I cross the bridge and explore some of the rooms that have many indegenous artifacts on display and see two of my friends who are First Nations peoples. One of them I know completed their vision quest years before and the other says that he is just starting his, which confuses me because I thought I was the only one. It dawn on me that this is now a race because if he obstains the items before I do than I will obviously be unable to collect those items. I do not tell him that I am also on my vision quest. They move on and I continue searching the display cases until I find a gold token, which I hope can be used to open a safe.

Finding nothing more of unterest in the remaining rooms of that area I head back towards the wooden suspension bridges where the two elves are there and still watching me. They are having an argument about something and as I cross the bridge and walk past them, the Elrond looking elf grabs my arm, leans in and tells me tells me where to find the next safe and how to open it. I pull away, plug my ears and run because I am not supposed to recieve help from others and I don't want to get in trouble.

Back on the ground floor though I go straight to the safe he told me about but it will not open. Nearby in a potted plant I find another gold token. I wander around some more and find an arts and crafts room that has a safe sitting on a table. Down the hall from this room is a women's bathroom and another safe. The safe on the table contains a coin operated locking system but which I put my two gold coins in, they are immediately spit out. Ayoung boy working on a craft in the room tells me that I need three tokens to open that safe and the the item and key inside will open the safe down the hall.

Just then my friend who is also doing his vision quest walks in the room and inserts his three gold tokens into the safe which pops open and reveals a green jadestone medallion and another key. He then uses that key to open the safe down the hall and loudly declares that he has completed his vision quest. Several Elders and other people enter the room and congradulate him and they all walk out to celebrate somewhere. Just then the public announcment system plays a message that the facility is closing. I watch everyone in the building leave via the main exit, but I am crushed by my failure of the vision quest and I hide in a women's washroom that contains a lounge and cry.

I suddenly have a backpack with me and I open it and find several key chains with lots of keys on it, some stones and shells, a picture of my first cat and various other random crap that seems pointless and meaningless to me because they would not have helped me on my quest anyway. Many hours pass and a cleaning man discovers me sleeping in the bathroom and alerts security. A friendly brown haired security man wakes me up and offers to drive me home. We hop into is light blue 1956 Ford pickup and drive through the country. I don't talk to him because I am very despondant and depressed. We approach some train tracks and despite the warning lights that a train is coming the security man just keeps on driving. I fear that we will be hit by the train but cross just before it does and it misses the truck by just a few feet.
