    1. Getting Drunk with Gods, TOTY attempt

by , 10-13-2015 at 04:07 PM (The Nomad Chronicles)
I am sitting at a wedding feast of the gods, which I apparently rejoined after leaving with Eris. Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena are alternately fuming at me, and ignoring me. I chuckle to myself.
I stand up and walk around. The setting on Mount Olympus is amazing. Wildflowers and majestic tall trees are everywhere.
I see Hercules drunkenly tossing boulders over a cliff, whooping it up. I join him at his side, tossing boulders over. He stops.
"No, Mr. Nothing, this game is called Drunken Boulder Toss. Every time you miss, you have to take a drink."
      "Miss what?"
See that mountain? That's out target."
I toss a boulder at a mountain peak which is about two miles away. I make it about 15 or 20 yards out from the cliff.
Hercules laughs and pours wine out of a large barrel into a golden flask for me to drink. I drink deeply. It's amazing. Sweet, fruity, and delicious.
Zeus joins us. He tosses a boulder. It goes sailing into the sky until it's out of sight.
"You have missed, father!" Hercules laughs uproariously. Zeus joins in, and pours himself a drink.
I pick up a boulder and toss it straight up. It lands on my head, bounces off, then rolls off the edge of the cliff. Hercules falls over laughing, and Zeus hands me another drink of godly wine.
Pan walks over to us. He tosses a boulder to Hercules, who catches it. "I missed the mountain," he grins. And puts his face under the wine barrel spigot and pours it into his mouth he drinks the whole barrel.
"Okay... beetchez... firszt, I'mz going to toss one of theses bitchees..."
He picks up a boulder, and tosses it at the mountain. It sails through air, and hits it, making a huge cloud dust and a muffled boom. We all clap and laugh drunkenly.
"Hmm... let me try! That wine works well."
I pour an entire barrel into my mouth also.
I pick up a boulder and lift it above my head, and accidentally toss it backwards. It lands behind me on a steep slope, and rolls down to me. I turn, and the boulder crashes right into me. I get stuck to it, and roll with it down the cliff. It feels like a fun ride. The boulder and I, roll to the bottom, then I fly up and rejoin the other gods on the plateau above. They are laughing uproariously.
      "Did I win?"
      They laugh harder.
Zeus shouts, "NO!" with a thunder clap, and tosses a boulder at me, which I narrowly dodge.

    2. Ghosty catacombs on a lake of frozen ice

by , 02-02-2011 at 06:41 AM (Brainy Vapours)
Dream set in some very ancient looking catacombs.

I had to travel over a lake of frozen ice to get there, but the ice was so thin that it was cracking. I had to run faster and faster as the cracks appeared under my feet, trying to avoid plunging into the water.

I am with some woman called Evelyn, and she looks like a cross between Morena Baccarin and Katherine Heigl. She seems to have lost her husband to some disease and is looking for his tomb. When she finds it, she lays down in it, and his ghost comes to her. He is real enough to be touched and heard. He keeps telling her to shush, like he is nervous to be discovered. Evelyn is overly emotional though and making too much noise, drawing her current boyfriend to the scene. He is dressed (or rather un-dressed) like the God Pan, which is rather strange, but no one comments on it. He is the caretaker of the catacomb, and he's not pleased that the ghosts are active.

    3. Troubled hearts map deserts, and they rarely do come back

by , 09-13-2010 at 03:21 PM (Amen, the thunderbolt in the dark void....)
So, before I start rambling about whatever dreams I may have had last night I'd like to say that... It's very strange. I dreamt of getting a kitten the other night, and yesterday I got two kittens Yay! Dreams=real.
      ---
      Enough of that.

So, dream. Yes. Ahem. Er. Anyway....

It all started out with me in the woods somewhere. There was a house I was supposed to find and I was just kind of wandering around this very sparse neighborhood surrounded by trees. It resembled Felton, that's in California... in Santa Cruz county. Possibly Ben Lomand. Like that. Anyhow, here I am wandering around looking for a house that to my knowledge may or may not exist, and I go finding it. Fancy that. So I find it, stand around outside it for a while, go inside and it's empty. I'm not quite sure if I'm supposed to live there or wait for someone, so I simply wait. And since when you expect that something is going to happen in a dream, it generally happens. D stopped by and we went somewhere.

Next thing I know I'm in a very odd store with D. I say it is odd because they're mostly selling gigantic pans and ice cream cakes. I marvel at their perfect mint chocolate ice cream cake and compare it to the one I made a few weeks ago, wondering how they got the ice cream so perfectly level.

D is admiring a very large pan for fitting a whole chicken in. I note that you could probably fit 50 tofurkey logs inside of it. A boy of about 18 or 19 comes up and they start talking very animatedly about the pan and its many uses. I'm rather bored. I like cooking things in pans, but I don't generally like standing around speculating on pans themselves.

I walk outside and there is a woman in a sleek black car waiting for me. She tells me to get in, so I do.

I vaguely remember someone, possibly while in the car, asking me which route it is that they should take on their journey around the country. I take the map and begin mapping out the route that D and I took last summer. I start it around San Francisco, moving down to Arizona and New Mexico, up to Colorado and all through the states until it swerves around up and down 'til New York. I make a note to stress stopping in Toledo, Ohio. The map seemed to be made of clay and I was simply molding the way there.

So, I'm in the car with the woman. She says she's going to drive me back in Santa Cruz because there are people who would like very much to see me. I look down and realize I'm wearing some cut off shorts that would be perfect for jumping in the ocean.

Driving there doesn't take long at all, and I can see the huge wide ocean approaching swiftly. We're driving on the beach and I press my hands against the glass window, longingly wishing I could jump out and into the water. The woman snaps at me and tells me I can do that on my own time and not when I'm going to get covered in sand and get it all over her nice fancy car. I scoff at this and sit angrily, wanting to jump in the ocean. I never got to. I was bitter.
