    1. clxxxvi. Racey driving, T helps me fight rogues, Death, old level, insane "mom"

      by , 11-01-2020 at 06:57 PM
      31st October 2020

      Dream:

I'm driving, something like an Opel Insignia or some kind of BMW; an estate or car of that sort, at any rate. It had an automatic transmission but the throttle was under the left thumb on the steering wheel, not on the pedals. Effectively it only had a braking pedal. I remember driving up to a junction which would lead out into a motorway and it had four or five lanes. But the lanes were on the wrong side for where I live now. I was going too fast at first but I find I have to brake suddenly, as someone had spun out of control or was already going in the wrong direction anyway.

I try to pick up the pace again and find that it's a lot less busy on the road now. I hope that H is following behind me soon. I get into a bit of a race of some kind with two other dream characters, each in their own cars.

Control of the car felt OK for the most part but a bit wild at times and the road, for a motorway, was surprisingly hilly.

      Fragment:

I'm the oldest version of my rogue from WoW, a dwarf rogue. T is with my on his human paladin and there are several rogues from the Horde skulking about. They try to kill me, opening with a stun but T heals me and they're a bit dumb and don't think to change targets so we just end up killing these two rogues without much bother. Then I spot another single rogue in stealth and I open on him and kill him too.

All of us rogues had the same tier two helmet look-alike that was very common sometime after the middle of TBC.

      (Recall gap.)

I'm Death from Darksiders II and I'm in one of the early-game areas, the town I think. I remember walking outside and there's a beautiful sunlight. This is the very tail end of what was quite a long dream of adventure and typical RPG themes.

      1st November 2020

7:20; dreams from later on were not made note of and recall was lost.

      Fragment:

Midway through a dream, JC was apparently talking to me via steam or something and we get talking about TF2 maps and I tell him about my old CTF map based on the UT "Face" map. This was a map I was making for TF2 that included a helicopter from regular HL2.

But in the dream it's very different very quickly. At first it looks like my vague memory of the map when I last touched it, but then it becomes very realistic. I walk along a Red Base area which is this vividly realistic Egyptian themed area and there's an open courtyard, slightly raised above everything else, with a square-ish mini garden thing at its centre and the floor here is made up of limestone mosaic tiles of some kind, no bigger than one cm or half inch.

I walk down some steps further toward the base, making note of a great pyramid centred to this courtyard area and see dunes further beyond in the distance.

I then turn around and see the opposite Blue Base. It looks like Washington DC's capitol building and has vast gardens and water features and creates an interesting contrast to the Egyptian area I'm in.

Taking out my phone, I start to try and take a panoramic shot of the bases to show JC but the sun starts to set beyond the Washington Base and it gets extremely dark very quickly and so I fail to take the shot, no less because I also stumbled on a step backwards as I was trying to get the angle.

      Fragment:

Some bit in a warehouse-like place? Like an old 20s industrial building, not sure. Reminds me of old power plant buildings. It seems semi-abandoned but not. There's a character very much like Mom from Futurama and she's talking to a lackey of sorts, a woman in a dress; both of them were in large renaissance style dresses. But then the "Mom" stabs the lackey woman with a scalpel and I'm climbing up along a window's pillar at this time.

There's something off about it all vs the context and I remark to the character that it seems like a continuity error (also see notes for last DJ entry) but she doesn't care, making some comment stating so. I become concerned she may want to stab me and we are both outside the building now on a semi-grassy area. The area resembled KF2's prison map now. She seems more insane than she perhaps should seem but I somehow trick her into giving me the scalpel while she busies herself disposing of the lackey's body or something, so I simply end up walking away.

      Notes:

      - In waking life, I spoke to HW the day before this dream and he said he'd hoped I'd return to WoW should there be a revival of TBC too.

      - Unfortunately, for most of these dreams I only made some very small notes and so didn't retain certain details I would have liked to have retained, but lately I feel far too tired in the morning to be able to write enough.

      - In the dream with the bases, it's interesting that the sun did set beyond the capitol building, as this would appear West to me (and so should the sun set there) and Egypt would appear to be Near East to me. Although I have had many dreams of sunsets and the like, I can't really recall any other instance where the sun did set so quickly and where everything turned darker than night.

      - The mosaic floor was particularly beautiful and may have come from having recently seen an interesting mosaic mural near where I live, which is unusual for this area, but the rest of the Egyptian theme came from something else; I'm not certain what prompted the capitol building's appearance but either way, both sides seemed to represent West and East in some sense.
    2. Aegean Geography

by , 05-24-2019 at 02:41 AM (Night Vision)
The dream begins in large building of indefinite function—mostly a large, open space with various rooms branching off, somewhat like a mall, although it doesn’t have the feel of one. At one point, I enter one of these rooms. It’s filled with plush toys of various kinds. On top of one cabinet is a series of small narwhals. One of them is gray and fuzzy, with a string going around it. On it are a few metal beads with letters on them spelling out a name. It’s exactly like one my friend Nina made for me when we were children, and it occurs to me that seeing it here can only mean one thing: I’m dreaming.

I walk back out into the larger room, where I take a look around. The floor is made up of black and white tiles in a checkerboard pattern. I could have some fun with that. In response to my intention, the black tiles glow red, blue, a whole series of bright colors in succession. Then I decide to change things more dramatically. I simply intend for the floor to change, not specifying how, and in response, it shifts into an abstract pattern, tendrils of color curved across a white background, made out of smaller tiles than before—like a mosaic. They’re predominantly salmon pink with subdued green, as well as tiles in darker colors, which give the patterns depth and contrast.

Looking across the large room, I see a wall of glass windows. Beyond it, the sky is visible, and a bit of the landscape below, as if this place is located somewhere high up. Some people are gathered out on a landing on the other side. I decide I’ll go over there next. But the floor is changing again: this time, into blues, greens, yellows, touches of orange. It’s a map now—specifically, a topographical map. I didn’t do that.

Rather than heading over to the windows, I examine the new floor. There are words written over locations, like they would be on an actual map, but there seems to be more written here than just names. However, the language is an unfamiliar one—possibly Spanish. But, I think, that shouldn’t be a problem for the place names since those tend to stay much the same between languages.

I am standing over the part showing the Aegean Sea. The island directly in front of me is labeled 'Mykonos'—and memory tells me (and Google confirms once I’ve awakened) that it does indeed have that island’s distinctive shape. I look over near the Turkish coast, but the islands there don’t match up nearly as well. They don't even seem to be the same islands at all. I look around various areas of the map until I wake up.

    3. The Menthol Arcade

      by , 02-09-2013 at 04:31 PM
This was a short but pleasant lucid after drinking a 3-bag brew of peppermint tea during my WBTB. I woke up for the WBTB on the late side (4:45 or so), so I didn't stay awake for very long. Probably because of this, my waking life memories were a little tough to access.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #64: The Menthol Arcade

I'm in a dark arcade playing Street Fighter II with my friend SC. We're talking smack and he says, "I bet you can't win a sumo wrestling match." I say something really brilliant like, "Bring it!" and the game starts.

I'm on the righthand side and both of us are playing as E. Honda. I look down at the game's controls and I'm disappointed to see that it has no joystick and each side has only 3 buttons instead of the usual 6. The weirdness of this sticks in my mind and after thinking it over,
      I realize that I'm dreaming.

The game starts and neither of us moves at first. I jam on the buttons a bit and my player starts E. Honda's signature "Hundred Hand Slap". I will him to start drifting to the left and he slides along for a few seconds.

Before I can land a shot, the screen goes black. I look over to my left and SC has vanished. I'm completely alone and all of the machines are off now. I turn away and start to explore the rest of the arcade.

The arcade's divided into two sides, and the side that I'm on is arranged around an enormous air hockey table that's at least 4-5 times larger than a normal one. I wonder what someone would do if the puck got stuck in the middle of that huge thing. On the opposite side of the room I see an emergency exit. I think about exploring the other side of the arcade but it occurs to me that I probably have goals I want to work on, and outside seems like a better bet.

I keep verbally reminding myself that this is a dream until I reach the exit. I push on the crash bar, the door swings open, and I'm staring out into a milky gray void. I'm nervous about walking out there but I feel like there's no going back now.

There's a bit of a drop as I step into the void, but my feet land on something solid a couple of feet down. I feel like I'm wearing my work shoes. The scene goes totally dark, but I'm ready to DEILD. I start swinging my arm around, imagining that I have a gladius. Nothing happens for a few seconds, but I still feel relaxed. I start swinging harder, throwing in a few man-grunts for emphasis.

Some sort of wind sweeps up from below and picks me up off of my feet. The wind starts to swirl and soon turns into a cyclone. I can feel myself spinning and spinning, and I think that this is great -- LaBerge suggests spinning as a way to change scenes. I'm confident it will work, and sure enough I see a colorful, spinning scene start to emerge.

The wind dies down, the spinning slows, and I'm gently set down on a vast, jeweled mosaic that stretches in every direction as far as I can see. There's a slightly reddish glow on the horizon and what looks like a set of distant mountains. I'm awestruck by what I see, but it's just a few seconds
      before the dream ends.

      1st Dream
I start off with a false awakening. My brother (who I do not live with) is in my room shaking me. At first I can't understand what he is saying. My parents burst into the room and start yelling at him for not doing his homework. Typical. I start to go through my old routine and actually wake up.

      2nd Dream
I am in a garage and I become lucid. I decide I would really like to drive some sort of really fast car. I open the garage door and there is some crazy looking sports car sitting in the driveway. I get in and start to drive. When I get up a little bit of speed I think to myself, "there's no way you are gonna make that turn at this speed" and I didn't. Crash and burn. Damn self conscious

      3rd Dream
I am at my grandparents house in their front yard and I am already lucid when the dream begins. I decide to try some summoning but cant manage to reach into my own pockets and pull out a pistol as I had hoped. I don't know why I always try to summon weapons. I guess summoning a lollipop or something seems a little underwhelming. Anyway I can't do it, but there is a girl DC that has been standing in the yard with me the whole time. She smiles at me and hands me a pistol. I shoot at mailboxes and then a deer. The deer turns to look at me, has the head of a girl, hisses, and runs away down the street. Fuckin weird. Next we go inside and my grandparents have a litter of puppies. I start petting them and naming them. They felt so real with heartbeats and all. Very vivid lucid. I wake up.

      4th Dream
I am at SAMs club following a girl DC who is leading me through the aisles. She loses me and I decide to fly up to the ceiling to look for her. For some reason I can't do it and the dream starts to fade. I kneel down and touch the floor to try to maintain the dream. The floor changes into this fancy mosaic tile with amazing texture. I float off the floor and I am no longer in SAMs. I have no idea where I was anymore. The entire ground as far as the eye could see was covered in these multicolored mosaic tile pictures. I just floated along looking at them and it was incredible.

      5th Dream
      Short Lucid
I become lucid in a strange building, kinda like a furniture store or something. I decide to try to walk up walls again to see if I can get better at it. I walk up the wall easily this time, but my perception of gravity changes to where the wall has become the source of gravity and everything in the store, including people, crashes to the wall I am standing on, which becomes the new floor. I awake right after that. Kinda cool though.

    6. The search for the artifact + the gay marriage debate

by , 08-14-2011 at 06:32 AM (The journey of JussiKala)
#1: So I was in this large old medieval castle. We were walking around with the tour leader, apparently I was in some sort of tourist group (again, lol). The layout of the old castle was the same as the internals of the house, now that I think about it after waking up. Everything was just a bit bigger. So at one point, the tourist guide was telling us about how there was this old magical artifact from the 1582 that belonged to some dude that had the power to control a lot of things. She said that multiple tries to find the artifact from the castle had failed. It has been lost. I didn't think it had been, and I went off. I arrived at what is actually the main store-room of my house, and looked a round. I knew, KNEW, the thing was here. So I looked around, not finding anything since the room was filled with stuff. I saw the bigger picture howerver, and knew that I had to summon it, so I went into this meditation like state, and hummed until it appeared to me. It was a ring with two stones attached to it. I put it in my hand and I heard hissing. Then I heard the wind, and saw how the ghost of the dude the tourist guide told me about flew threw me with an angry face. I laughed like an insane man and ran outside. I messed around with the ring but I do not remember how, since my recall ends here.

#2: I was at my old elementary school yeeeaaars back and there was this lesson about what homosexuality is. After the class, both the teacher and one of the students started arguing about if gay marriage should be allowed. I listen to their debate outside the door for a while and decide that they're both complete idiots that dont' know how to argue, and I tell them that. They get mad but tell me to make better arguments than the ones they have made, and I spend an hour in the library on a computer typing up this argument. I come back with a 17 page thing and I hand it out to them. They are "mmmmkay" and I leave. Later when I come back, there is this group effort to build a mosaic on the unused floor space of one of the hallways. I participate. One of the people who made most of the effort realized she did it wrong and had to start again after disassembling what she had made.
