    1. From work, to Halloween, to the eighteenth century...

      I'm at a table at work, making a sign for the employees, something about encouragement. Char, one of my co-workers is annoying me, but I never remember why. I'm trying to find space on this poster board for what my manager, Brian wants. I think I ask Arayna, the day baker, if making a checklist for the employee's achievements is okay to conserve space.

      Then it's Halloween and I'm putting on makeup. I don't remember the details, but my mom is there and we are in my old kitchen in the trailer I grew up in. I'm dressed in white, but the costume details are fuzzy. I'm waiting for my friend, Mark to come. I think he'll be impressed by my makeup job. I grab my orange pumpkin pail and head out.

      Cut to a woman's house. It's down a dirt road, in the country. I remember white siding and a screened porch. I'm still dressed for Halloween and I think Mark is still with me. The woman gives me these old books instead of candy. They look like picture books from the 50's. I look over to her pile and see two art books on dragons. I ask if I can have one. She gives me one, but then I know the other has more techniques on "how" to draw the pictures inside. Mine just has the pictures. I ask for the other, but she refuses, says it's not for sale. She'll let me look though. This isn't enough and I wonder if I should steal it. The art inside is by Luis Royo, a Spanish (and my favorite) artist. I do remember some of the pictures, most of them had females, blond hair. (There's that blond hair again).

      Then Mark is gone, and I'm inside this old mansion. I think I'm babysitting this boy, dark haired and around 12 years old. His mother is sleeping. Another fragment invades this dream and I'm unsure if it's context or where it truly fits. I'm outside in a red snowsuit, covered from head to toe, sitting in the snow. I'm warm and I'm burying myself inside the snow drift. it's sunny outside and I'm right outside my parent's window at their house.

      Back to the babysitting, the boy runs away and I have to find him. Joey (friend from work) is there and opens one of those books the Halloween lady gave me. It's newer this time, looks like a travel book. He says the boy might have went to a place inside the book. I have to hurry before the mother wakes and realizes her son is gone. I go outside, cobblestone road under my feet, and there's all these alleys I pass, "hallways" from inside the house. Their walls were wooden, but the floor was the road. One at the end had a cabinet filled with glass tubes and bottles, like a lab. Others had storage cubbies and doors. I see a woman poking around, she has reddish hair and dressed in eighteenth century garb. I wonder what she's up to, but don't investigate at this time.

      I go outside and into a marketplace. It's something out of the renaissance, but with goth people dressed in black instead of the renaissance clothing. I look down and realize, I'm dressed in a black dress myself, out of the eighteenth century, but my feet have gray socks, no shoes. I seemed unconcerned, even proud of this for some reason as I walk down the road.

      I wander around and forget about the boy. Jewelry stands are everywhere, glittering with every type of jewelry I love. I reach for my purse, but have none. I wonder where Jenny and Adam are, my best friend and her husband. I know they are there, somewhere. I go back to get some money from the mansion, and realize the woman poking around earlier has my money. I see her dart between the hall/alleys and chase her down. I push her around a little, angry and she doesn't fight back. Hugh Jackman, dressed in the same style clothing I have gives me a sickle and says "You know what to do." I ask should I cut the woman's head off, and he laughs, says the sickle isn't sharp enough. So I angle it and slit her throat. She doesn't struggle the entire time, and I feel nothing when I do this.

      Once dead, Hugh searches her body and gives me three pouches, one maroon, and two dark green. There's money inside, but I'm not sure how much. I know she robbed the mother while she slept, and apparently someone else besides me. I keep all three purses.


      Interpretation:

      The last dream was one I had right before waking, therefore, all the details were still quite vivid. No lucid. Which is, again, annoying, but I'm starting to notice a few themes I haven't before. The blonds are now looking dubious to me. Why the hell am I dreaming about blonds? Every night so far has had blond females. The art books are kinda self-explanatory as I wish to get back into drawing again, but I'm not sure of my skill level. Halloween is my favorite holiday...and Mark in RL is a makeup artist, among other things so yes, I would be interested to see what he thought of my makeup. Snow and the snowsuit...have no clue. A memory invading? I never owned a red snowsuit though. The jewelry and the whole renaissance bit is also simple. I love those type of necklaces and Ren fest is coming up this month. I'm afraid I won't have the money to buy anything. Not sure on my clothing or lack of shoes. Not sure about the boy and the sleeping mother, or what was going on with killing the thief. As for the work part of the first dream, not sure either. Maybe because things have been tense with the managers and district manager lately.
    2. Money & DNA- 8-1-10

      this one starts out on a bus, not my usual bus, theres people on it that i don't know. as we pull into my old middle school, i remember that i had tons of money in my back pack, so i zip it up quickly. then i see this girl in the seat in front of me, sitting at the window. she was talking to me and my friend. i think she goes to my school, i dont know, she was really pretty. then, after a small memory gap, im standing outside of the bus, and i walk towards what was supposed to be the entrance to the school, it now was some lab tables, and a few scientists. i walked over and asked what they were doing. they were doing research on DNA, they were telling me all this technical stuff, while inserting this white liquid into a clear liquid. when the white stuff hit the clear liquid, it broke up into tiny pieces. im thinking to myself "woah, i had biology last year, what?" one of the scientists, a female (actually i think they were all females) said to me "what didn't you take biology?" and i say "yea, it was last year, i could probably brush up in a few seconds..." (lol apparently i was cocky in my dream ). i think thats all i remember of that one.

      This is a dream added from a few months earlier.

      I've never picked through garbage before like some homeless people do. But last night, I was doing precisely that.

      It was probably the middle of the day, because the sky was light and blue. I was outside a bank building made from slightly worn red bricks; the sign of whatever was inside the building was navy blue but the name and logo of the company was skewed, so I couldn't remember what it was like. There was an alley in between this building and another one, and I was looking for stuff. I wasn't homeless, but I guess I was just randomly searching for trinkets. I walked towards a rectangular green dumpster in the alley and opened it up.

      There wasn't anything garbage-like about the items inside. There were brand new articles of clothing, neatly wrapped up in plastic bags, and new toys still in the box. I remember seeing a yellow remote-control race car and something that looked like a Barbie doll. I dug around a bit more and saw some sort of silver coin, around the size of a nickel, sitting on one of the other plastic bags. I held it out and showed my sister, who happened to magically appear while I was looking in the garbage. "Look, I found a coin!" I told her.

      "It's just a coin," she told me, rolling her eyes and turning away.

      "I know, but these are worth a million dollars nowadays!" I told her, trying to persuade her that I wasn't crazy or something.

      I'm sad I never went back to fill in this entry. I remember a little bit about it, but I don't know how I became lucid. I know I sometimes find money in my dreams and pick it up and put it in my pocket. I think I was finding money everywhere, and then I was selling magazines in a neighborhood. I really wish I could remember.

      Interesting Encounters at Work:
      I was working at TH. It seems that my shift just finished and I was ready to sign out and get my coat to leave. My wife's boss, K is also there. For some reason, I have a bad feeling and I notice that she is looking for something. She had some vertical trays which had some files in them spread out across the bench near the sheet. I decided to help her out and asked her what she is looking for. She looked at me with those eyes and asked why I'm still here. I guess I took it as a message of "I don't need the help", because, the dream skips and I'm walking through the store to the front door. It looked pretty similar to my actual work from what I recall. After exiting the store, I plan to make a run for my bus since I see it coming around a curve. The parking lot and location of the store is totally different. The atmosphere was pretty dark. After taking a right turn from the traffic light, one must go straight to reach a curve. After passing through the curve, one has the option of turning left to either find a parking spot or turning left and continuing straight to reach the drive-thru. They could also continue straight from the curve and take a right turn which would bring them to a bus stop but nothing more. I saw the bus near the curve behind two cars and sprinted around the store. I bent down under the white poles that are in place to prevent cars from coming into the drive-thru without ordering and continued running until I reached the other side and turned left to reach the stop. It would have been much easier to just walk to my right after exiting the store to get to the stop. I ended up getting to the stop just as the bus was able to get there. Along the way near the bus stop, I saw some cans of diet coke in a small box, similar to the one the 24 pack come in and I picked it up and brought it along. As I entered the bus, the driver was supposed to charge me $10 but when he used my card, he ended up charging $100 and swiping it through. I was pretty furious and felt that he did it on purpose because he added the last 0 just as he was about to swipe, since, he already had it at $10. I pointed out his mistake and he printed a receipt that showed that I paid only $0.72 which took me by surprise and I felt as if a trick was being played here.

      Car:
      I think I dreamt about a car that I was in and was told that I could pass the middle white line.

      Thoughts: Well, I thought the first dream was pretty good. Was nice and long with a great atmosphere. As for the second one, it was just a fragment There was also a third which I couldn't remember anything about, but, I knew that it was long as well. Pretty nice to have a long dream in comparison to my previous couple of nights

      I was watching a rich man give a woman a check for 1 million dollars. It was dark and the backdrop was a carnival I think. The man was in a cowboyish outfit and he was sitting in a convertible sports car.

      The woman gave the check back and said something like "oh no. I couldn't". Although she was hoping that the man would say something like "I insist".

      The man said "oh okay." and took the 1 mil. check back and then gave her a $375 check instead

      Location: My home town/a supermarket

      The dream started off in a supermarket in my home town. I could see the frozen food section with several meats, as well as the checkout counter which I was currently standing next to. The counter happened to be in the produce seciton where my sister was buying fruits (Later that day, my sister and I bought strawberries and blueberries for my grandmother. I love precognitive dreams)and was looking at some sort of berries. I couldn't tell what they were but they were something like purple. (I'm colorblind )I got bored to I walked outside. I was instantly walking with some of my classmates and randomly looked at my hands. My right hand was normal but my left hand had six fingers, and the thumb was on the wrong side.

      I became lucid. I walked over to my friend Zach who was just walking slowly around looking at the ground. "Hey Zach," I said to him.
      "'Sup?"
      "Not much. Hey, you know this is a dream right? It's not real so you can do whatever you want."
      "Really? It looks just like real life. I thought it would be more... dreamy, I guess." At this point, I was wondering if this was a shared dream and I was talking to the real Zach, or if he was just a rather intelligent DC. "Make sure you remember this when you wake up. I'll ask you about it to see if it's what's considered a shared dream. So... what do you want to do? As long as you believe that it'll happen, you can do anything!"
      "I don't know."
      "C'mon Zach. You have to do something. Maybe you want..." I reach into my back pocket "a million bucks?" I said as I pulled out a stack of money. There were 3 stacks of thousand dollar bills. My mind has good taste!
      "No," he replies calmly.
      "I'm starting to wonder if your just a DC."
      "A what?"
      "A DC, or dream character, just a figment of my imagination."
      "No, I'm the real Zach." Okay, now I'm confused. We continue to talk about lucid dreaming as I try to convince him to try it when he wakes up, but I don't think I got the message through. We came to a bakery and as we walked through the doors, I noticed another one of my friends sitting in line with a loaf of bread. "Hey, do you consider yourself as an aware person?" Completely forgetting it was a dream and hinking it was real life for a secon, I thought he was a real person but I doubt I would have a three-way shared dream.
      "No," he replies
      "Then you'll have a hard time doing this." Which was when I
      woke up.

      I talked to my friend today and he said that he does remember me giving him a million dollars and then walking to a bakery together as we were talking about something. I think this constitutes as a shared dream but I'm not sure.

    9. #40. Witch Trials

      I hop on a bus with a duffel bag and a backpack, headed out to Halifax. I arrive at the hostel. There's a book sale in one of the rooms. I gravitate toward the back corner and recognize the cover for a Sherlock Holmes collection. I open it up, pleasantly surprised to find the book full of illustrations. I head over to another corner by the windows and flip through a few children's books for reference. The illustrations in every book are watercolour and ink or acrylic and ink. They have a grainy, spooky tone to them and some of the watercolour scenes are brilliant. I pick out a few and head to cash.

      "You've got two books there?"

      I glance down at the pile in my arms. "More than that," I say.

      She rolls her eyes. "I'm charging you for five, then. Your total is $4.25."

      I hand her a five dollar bill and get three quarters back. Looking at the pile again, I realize that there's actually six books, but one is only a few torn out pages. Fair enough, I decide. I head back to my room to pack.

      I'm looking at a shelf full of food and wondering when I found the time to buy all of this. I pack it away (bread goes squish) along with the books. It's a perfect fit, but I'm going to be annoyed travelling with all this luggage.

      Chel, a girl who was a grade above me in high school, arrives as I'm leaving. We have an excited conversation involving the odds of meeting up on the other side of the country.

      I decide to stop in Quickton before heading to Vancouver. For a break in a long goddamn bus ride, if nothing else. The bus station by the Westin is suddenly a part of Ixburg.

      In Quickton, grocery shopping. Sprained left leg, hobbling along, wondering where my crutches went. I limp along on my left ankle after I get tired of hopping. It hurts, but it could be worse. I talk to my late grandma.

      Still in Quickton, I'm on trial as a witch. The woman accusing me is a made up character who, apparently, went to high school with me. I spend most of the trial resisting the urge to burn her alive via dream-powers. Apparently that wouldn't help my case much.

      I'm defending myself; no lawyers allowed. I catch the woman in the middle of a lie and ruthlessly pounce on it, drawing out answers that prove she wasn't where she said she was. Something about flowers that are yellow and in a pot. Daisies, probably.

      I'm not sure if my argument's had any effect on the jury yet, so when the Judge asks me about the green lightsaber they have in custody, I immediately reply, "My lightsabers aren't green." I consider summoning my dual sabers to the courtroom, but again, supernatural powers are not what anyone needs to see right now.

      I go into a tangent, wondering what my colour actually is. Purple is tempting, and I've always been partial to red and blue, but orange is pretty close and I'm not genuinely Sith-like (far too dogmatic for me). I don't really like orange much, though. I swing a couple orange sabers around in the hallway just to try them out.

      I'm sitting back in my box with my arch-nemesis a couple places down, wondering if the trial can adjourn for the day. It's almost five and I'm bored.

      We all go home for the night. I've been released into the custody of my parents, so I'm walking into a bigger version of their house, kicking off my shoes as I go. I'm picking up a piece of paper that might be an assassination contract a la Assassin's Creed. Unfortunately, without some serious creativity, I won't be able to collect on it. I'm supposed to stay here, after all...

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID






      I was somewhere in the USA in a little kind of shoppingmall. I walked into a shop with gigantic and halfways unsorted shelves. I found a big shelf with "AVATAR"-DVDs and blu rays. I looked at them. There where two differten DVD versions. One cost 16 $ and on 18 $. I choosed the 16 $-Version, because the cover looked better (There wasn't just one half of a Na'vi face on it, like the real 'AVATAR'-posters; instead there was pictures from the movie on it.). I even rembered, that I got a 20 €-bill from my grandmother yesterday
      (In real life). At this point I even remembered to my mother, who can't speak English but also wants to see the movie again. (Again a memory from the RL)
      While I stood there at the shelf and looked at the DVD's, I heard how a guy near me got supported by an employee. They talked about Predator-comics and at one point the custome said something like: "Hehe, with this version I can say < My predator is shorter >."
      (Jump in time)
      Now I stand in front of the shop, with the DVD in my hand. All of a sudden my buddy Patrick appeared, layed his arm around my shoulders and wanted to go with me somewhere. I noticed, that he weared one of my shirts
      (I weared exactly this shirt in RL as I dreamed this dream. O.o). It was a white shirt, with two chinese dragons on it and some asian writing.
      Well, I asked him all the time why he was wearing my shirt and how he came here in all of a sudden. The only thing I remember he said, was something like: "I looked on Googlemaps."

      Here my dream ended. I bet, my brain waked me up on purpose, because I realized all the unlogic things. I think, it's a very interesting experience.
      In addition to that, I also could remember something, that happened to me in real-life before. That's also good.

    11. Findind money at parent's house

      I dreamed I was sleeping in my parent's bedroom in the middle of the day and was awoken by the sound of someone sipping from a soda can somewhere in the hall. I roll over and see it is my dad and I quickly get up because I am supposed to be cleaning the house, not sleeping. As I get out of the bed piles of clothing and empty boxes appear on it and it looks like someone is in the middle of packing or something. I walk around the bed to the large brown dresser on the other side of the room and open the sock drawer. On the inside is an old radio that is playing electronic music and I turn it off. My dad gets angry that I am going into his dresser and I walk out of the room without responding.

      I go into the backyard and look over the green chainlink fence that overlooks the forest behind the house. Just out of my reach and laying in a pile of sticks and leaves, is an envelope filled with american currency. I do not know how much is there but I figure it is a lot because the wad of cash is quite thick. Suddenly two of my neighbours appear, one to my left and one approaching from the other side of the fence and coming straight towards me. I try to not draw attention to the money (hoping I can pick it up once the unwelcome guests leave) but the person on the other side of the fence beelines for the envelope, picks it up, and throws it into a deep hole that has appeared nearby. I am upset that the money is gone and stare after it into the hole, but it is so deep I cannot see the bottom. I angrily ignore the neighbours, even when they try to talk to me.


      The dream ends there.
