    1. Sitting in on a class

      I'm in a classroom, sitting next to ... someone I know. Chris maybe? It's not my class; I'm on break just like I am now. The professor - a woman - has drawn a map on the blackboard, unlabeled. It's a test of some sort. Somehow, the map relates to a book they were supposed to read. I happen to guess one right, based purely on geography as opposed to knowledge of this book. For the most part, the students aren't doing so well and the teacher seems a little frustrated. Eventually, the required parts of the map are filled in.

      More students arrive, another class... one of them is Michael Rayome. My history with him in the dream is the same as real life. The first class leaves. Actually, everyone leaves except Chris and I (not 100% sure it was Chris - it's definitely Chris at the END, but it might have started out as someone else). The prof does some odd skit I can't fully explain. I thought, at the time, that it was part of the class, but when it was done the prof said it wasn't. I felt kind of foolish. Also, everyone had left because the class was over, which I also didnt realize. I thought they were coming back, so again I feel foolish - I had been waiting there for nothing. I see Chris walking up the stairs.
    2. early morning with dad; grocery store girl; grandma and another state

      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

      I was in a house all by myself. The house was one story. The living room was huge, but it was extremely cluttered, as if laundry and blankets were strewn everywhere. It was early morning and dark.

      My mother and the rest of the family had left the house some time ago. They had probably left for at least a few days. I had the house all to myself. I didn't live here with my family, but I was "in town" for a few days.

      I walked into a bedroom which was just off from the living room and right next to the front door of the house. The room was really small, maybe twice as big as the small bed inside it. It was also extremely cluttered.

      I may have heard a car arriving outside. I knew it was my father. I think my mom and the rest of my family had left because they knew my dad was coming for a visit and they wanted to avoid him.

      I walked out into the living room through some kind of thin sheet that was now hanging over the doorway to the bedroom. My dad was already in the house. I was wearing a red and white trucker cap. My dad may have been wearing one as well.

      My dad may have asked me why I was up so early. I said, "I always get up this early. This is when I go to work. In fact, I'm heading to work right now."

      My dad and I were looking toward a huge sliding glass door to the backyard. But our view to the backyard was blocked by a thin, yellow curtain and possibly also a white dry-erase board.

      My dad asked if I always go to work this early. I told him I did, and that I tried to work pretty late as well. My dad said, "Well, my habit has always been to do Fridays only from nine to five. I thought you might do the same thing. At least on Fridays."

      Dream #2

      I was in a grocery store, getting checked out. The front of the store had big windows running along the wall, looking out on a bright, sunny parking lot. I felt like something, almost like a big piece of machinery, was behind me, making it very uncomfortable for me to stand in the checkout line.

      A thin, Latina girl just a bit shorter than I was bagging my groceries. She asked me at some point about my work. I was away from work and I needed to get back. I may actually have been picking up supplies for some kind of work party. The girl may have asked me if my work was really strict with how long I was away.

      I told the girl about my hours and what I did at work. She had bagged my stuff and was now walking out of the store with me, helping me take my bags to the car.

      I was out in the parking lot. I may have been by myself. A few kids whom I may have thought of as a group of kids I'd taken out on volunteer projects came walking up. I was a little shy, but I called out to them. We kept talking, but for some reason I kept heading to my car, which was a few aisles away.

      I now saw that my sister was among the kids. I couldn't see my sister or the kids anymore, but I was "talking" with my sister. She told me she would try to be back at home for whatever party I was throwing. But she wasn't sure she could make it. But if she didn't make it I shouldn't be upset. Because she -----

      Dream #3

      I was in a hotel lobby. The interior was small, but furnished with nice wood and chairs. But the light was a terribly drab fluorescent. I sat at some couch.

      I got a call from my grandmother. She said she had prepared some form for me so I could stay at this hotel for a kind of long period of time. I now had the "form" in my right hand. It was on an iPad. The form was black with white lettering. The blanks, when not written in, were an orange-fadey color.

      My grandma said she'd filled in a lot of the form. I noticed she had filled in my social security number. I was kind of surprised by that. But my grandma said, "Yeah, of course I have your social security number. I can get that if I want. I can even have them give me your social security card if I want. It comes with being your grandmother."

      I felt slightly inconvenienced at having to be at this hotel, but I figured I'd stay here anyway, since my grandma had done so much to secure a place for me.

      But either I or my grandma pointed out that the forms would not be finalized for a while. I told my grandma, "If thats's the case, I need to go somewhere else until the forms are finalized. These people don't like having me here in the first place. And having me here without my permanent forms finalized is just an excuse for them to give me a bad time."

      I spoke with my grandma about where I should go while I wait. My view was now of a map. It was apparently a map of Colorado, where I grew up. I kept travelling south on a red road on the map, through a number of towns notated by circles. The color of the map changed from pale lime green to yellow.

      I kept telling my grandma I couldn't stay in any of the towns my vision passed through, as the people in those towns all hated "people like me." I eventually went south of Colorado's border, which was much more jagged and rounded than it is IWL. There were three towns just south of the border. I may have figured one of those towns would be safe for me to stay in.
    3. Tickets here! Anyone?, Fable

      10-19-10, non-lucid, multiple dreams

      My sister Emily, My foreign exchange student Liang and I somehow all got chosen to sell tickets and this sort of weird... aquarium. This was the type of place that parents lovved to take their kids to as a fun weekend thing. We all had to sell the tickets outside of the building and once the tickets were bought the customers were allowed inside. We didn't have any cashregisters or phanny packs to put the money in so we had to use our own money to give change to the customers. Their was a huge line and all of us were very busy. One very rude lady started distracting me and trying to have a conversation. In my peripheral vision I noticed a man and his son sneaking into the aquarium! Immediately I knew this woman was the mans wife and they were trying to sneak into the building for free. After persistent begging and trying to sneak in they finally gave up. ( if this was real life I would have easily let them in! ) At the end of the day Emily gave up 200 dollars in change and I only gave up 40 somehow.

      The next thing I know Liang and I are in my car in my old church parking lot. Except...he is driving? I'm very scared because in China I know he isn't old enough to drive and I'm sure he has no experience. After maybe five minutes of driving we ended up passing my dad who is just exiting a coffee shop. Somehow my dad doesn't see us and I somehow regain control of my car. After that the song Surfing USA came on the radio and as we driving we passed a bunch of beach boy scenery. As we parked and started to walk into My house Liangs cell phone went off in the car! I rushed back to the car like it was some sort of huge emergency and answered it. His parents were speaking chinese to me and I had no idea what was happening. Finally after plenty of gibberish and confusing I heard " talk to you tomorrow" and then they hung up.
      As the phone call ended so did my dream.

      Fable

      I walked into my basement to find a bunch of black men playing poker and smoking cigars. I decided to ignore them and walk to my room. As i'm passing them one of them says, "Quit wasting your life!" I don't know why but this really got to me. I went back and confronted this man. After a very good conversation I figured out he was 25 years old and we both loved video games. Eventually he apologized for telling me I was wasting my life which was my main goal. I started to talk him about how my life was like the video game fable. He didn't understand so I took the little piece of paper in the video game case that explains the controls out. But instead of being that piece of paper it was a deceivingly big map. I rolled it open and it probably ended up about being 2 or 3 feet in length. It had very intricate detail about the fable world and how complex it was. How every area has it owns science to it. Some how the whole entire world had something in common. It also had a hidden design that brought the map together. After showing him this map we parted ways and I could tell that me and this 25 year old black man would be friends for life.

    4. Lost at Sea

      Forgot to remember my dreams again.
      I was with a few people looking at a map, when they pointed to a spot and I was suddenly in a boat in the ocean where the person pointed. I was like "Okay guys, this is good" then it got really REALLY cold and I could see icebergs in the moonlight and they said "You're going into the Arctic Circle!"
      "NOOOO!!!!"

    5. Maps and the Lucid Dreaming Craze

      I was in the art room of my school. It was a large rectangular room with white brick walls, solid light gray flooring, and large windows paneling along one of the long walls. There were very long desks going from one long side of the room to the other. On one end of the room against the shorter wall, there were plastic tubs and black racks with students' artwork, scrap paper, scissors, and possibly anything else you could imagine. In real life, our art teacher isn't that organized, and this reflected somewhat in the dream.

      There were many students sitting in chairs at the desks; some I recognized and others I didn't. We were making feather cutouts out of paper at first. I was at a desk too; one of my friends was sitting across from me. I had to get some more tan paper though, because I had accidentally cut mine too much with a pair of scissors. I went to the back of the room where the artwork and scraps were, and I saw one of my friends cutting a certain size of paper with the paper cutter. I needed to use it, so I stood and waited for her to finish.

      She turned around and handed me one of two pieces she cut, smiling a bit but not saying anything. "Thanks," I told her and started to head back to my spot.

      I must have gone down the wrong row, because my friend was two desks away from me. She waved and mouthed something like "over here". I pointed underneath the desk and rolled my eyes, popping down underneath it, and then ground-hogging back up on the other side. I did this twice and I was back at my spot; half the class was laughing. When I was underneath the second desk, there was a sudden, random flash of the Game Boy Color logo.


      Once I got back to my desk, I began to hear people talking about lucid dreaming. They were discussing induction techniques as I colored in the edges of the sheet of paper with brown to make the edges of a map.

    6. Hiking into the wild.

      I was hiking in the forest like Into The Wild. I was scared that I wasn't going to find anything to eat and would probably die out here. But then I stumbled across these people camping. They had these weird circular bed things that they slept in. They were pretty cool actually and looked pretty comfortable.
      There was one girl and a few guys, and they were sitting around in a circle. The girl was a blonde Australian. One of the guys had a Swedish accent. And then they did something weird lol, that I won't say here [...]

      I had a map, and to the north was either a river or a road, I can't remember what. To the south was some kind of border. Maybe it was the ocean.

      There was another part where I was having my identification checked but I was using my mum's passport for some reason. And in her photo she had glasses on, so I couldn't pass as her.

      I've forgotten most of the rest of the dream.

    7. Seeking to Recognize and Know the Dream

      Morning of January 1, 2002. Tuesday.

      Dream #: 12,797-05. Reading time: 48 sec.



      I am in the northeast corner of the Cubitis living room listening to records on a gramophone of surreal appearance. The scene does not trigger any sense of wrongness. I see it as “mine.”

      I am later looking at a map of the Aleutian Islands, though I am unsure of what I am doing. I know what I am looking at has significance. The region is incorrectly above the northwest area of Australia, though I do not see it as incorrect. The world does not have much land. Most of the eastern hemisphere seems mainly small islands. (The scenario has occurred in other dreams.)

      While outside, I see an unusual light in the sky. It is eventually clearer. It is a piece of the moon, shaped like a jigsaw puzzle piece. It is returning to the moon like a “spaceship.” I see cracks on the moon’s surface that define the shapes of standard jigsaw puzzle pieces. There is a sense of both peace and puzzlement.



      The main dream state indicator was “The Aleutian Islands,” “Aleutian” sounding somewhat like “illusion” (as a dream state reference). Jigsaw puzzle patterns occur when a dream causes puzzlement in ambiguous liminal space between dreaming and waking.

    8. Delta Butterfly

      Morning of December 14, 1979. Friday.



      I perceive myself as being someone else; an unknown male of about forty. I seem to be planning where soldiers will go by using a large map that covers a table, and I point out locations as other males stand around watching. The country that the war is against is unknown, but is possibly China (though it may also be somewhere in Africa, though that seems illogical in conscious afterthought).

      Over time, it becomes obvious that I have made a mistake, in that a large yellow butterfly has landed on the map, by which I am then incorrectly designating features of the butterfly’s wings as being rivers, rivulets, and locations of possible villages. The people observing and listening to my instructions do not seem that concerned or amused, but I notice a few walking away.

      The butterfly has landed so that its head is over a delta and its superimposition also creates the illusion that its bottom half is over the ocean or other body of water. At one point, I am trying to work out where the perimeter of the butterfly ends and the map details begin.

      When I look up, many people have gone to a different table, where at least three unfamiliar males, possibly astronauts in blue coveralls, are looking at a larger map on a table, one male pointing at it with a pointing stick. (This scene was directly influenced by a View-Master “Project Apollo” frame, which I gazed at many times as a boy.)

      I am somewhat puzzled. The butterfly has made my presentation problematic but now I am vaguely unsure if the meeting was about going to war, or returning to Earth. Somehow, “returning to Earth” does not seem quite right as it would entail that we are not on Earth presently (though this is not certain either).

      Explanation:

      Over twenty percent of my dreams since early childhood have rendered return-to-consciousness symbolism as related to flight, though always unique, with positive, negative, or neutral imagery which often seems unrelated to waking life (though is sometimes validated as prescience). This is obviously based on subliminally anticipated hypnopompic effects, mainly including the feeling of falling (which is spontaneous and biological, without the pretense of “interpretation”).

      The concept of war in this case is related to the “struggle” of the fictional dream self, the transient identity and neural patterns changing via the dynamics of emergent consciousness and beginning wakefulness, which is sometimes represented by the color yellow (though red when I have been sleeping too long). It is also seen as a “journey”. In this case, it is even more obvious by the questioning of whether we are on Earth. Technically, we are not, as it is the dream state and I am not walking around on the real Earth.

      There are some curious layers here including “delta” as an association with sleep as well as ocean waves, a play on “delta waves” (relating to deeper sleep rather than REM). It is also associated with the song “Delta Dawn” (sunrise). Water is my most common association with being in the dream state (and its sound has been used in virtually endless commercial relaxation recordings to bring about sleep). The butterfly creates an illusion of “returning to land”, which is akin to returning to the real world from the dream state (as thousands of my dreams have been proven to contain this same type of waking symbolism, though always unique).


    9. Atlas Confused

      I am at some sort of business possibly on the second floor, in a large room, which seems like some sort of larger composite that includes my Cubitis bedroom. The orientation seems to be that I am looking south throughout my dream, associating it with my classroom as well (to a lesser extent).

      Behind an unknown older male in a darker blue business suit who is standing near a large desk (about four times bigger than office desks I have seen in television shows and at school) is a very large wall-spanning map of the world. It looks a bit different at different times. There is also a large globe on the left that reminds me of a recent one I received as a combined birthday and Christmas (December 20th and 25th) package in the mail from my sister Carol.

      The concept of whatever is going on is not very coherent. It is something to do with the “real” Atlas - the giant man that supposedly holds the planet Earth on his shoulders. I am not sure this is literal or some sort of metaphorical model but what I do know is that there is some sort of potential problem regarding the business (due to not operating twenty-four hours a day or some such) and something related to how the countries are to be displayed. This seems to be in regard to some sort of rental payment required to be displayed or acknowledged on the globe. At one point, the globe seems to be mostly only wire-framed and missing most of the surface detail due to the business doors being closed for Christmas vacation. I am not directly involved in anything.

      There is a sense of misdirected wariness that this business may be making Atlas irritated so that some countries or regions may experience problems such as earthquakes or floods or that Atlas may become annoyed at having to observe long business meetings from wherever he actually is. Again, I am not sure how literal this association with the “real” Atlas is. However, the main theme seems to be that Atlas was doing fine until certain people “invaded” his day to day duty and turned it into a profiteering venture. There is even a lesser idea that a “rotational tax” has to be paid by everyone to keep the world turning on its axis, since they are the ones that claim they are keeping the world rotating (this seems to be in conflict with the static image of Atlas holding up the world - as such, how would it rotate?).
