    1. Glorified Car Wash

      by , 05-03-2016 at 02:09 AM
I didn't log my first dream because I'm still sick but I did end up taking a nap after listening to some LD stuff on YouTube... So my dream was started by going into what looked like a car wash but it was actually some cleaver entrance (became lucid right here) into a place w/ booths that looked liked dressing rooms but actually was where you could pick out themes for kids birthday parties. In real life my husband came home from work in the middle of all of this but I didn't open my eyes & instead just let myself stay in my dream because I was now lucid.... I kept walking around inside this place & was looking for something to use to help me trigger the TOTY but I was still stuck in where I was because I could hear my husband taking a shower & my cat meowing so the real world wouldn't let me create a place outside of where I was.

I'm sure the birthday thing is because I will be at my son's Bachelor's degree graduation & I'm conflicted about it because my I'll be gone for my grandson's 5th birthday & his dad was just sentenced to 20 yrs in prison. I know I have to go to the graduation but it's important that we help our daughter w/ her kids as role models even more than usual because of this situation.

    2. Dreamsigns

      by , 12-05-2014 at 03:54 PM
I have never had much luck with recognizing dreamsigns, even after noting them and consciously resolving to do so. Most of my few lucids seem to spontaneously arise or occur after some random thing triggers a suspicious state of mind. However, I thought that perhaps there might be some profit to putting the effort into writing down a list. Perhaps the extra effort involved in writing them down might trigger recognition in the dream state.

The following are reliable dreamsigns, that is, barring extremely unlikely situations they would only appear in dreams, or would be impossible in waking life.

      _High school girlfriend
      _High school home (the farm)
      _Impossible skateboarding tricks
      _Extreme Acrobatics
      _Haunted house

The following could appear either in the dream state or waking life.I try to to a state test whenever I encounter them. This has yet to transfer into the dream state.

_Bodies of water (lakes, rivers and especially the ocean)
      _City streets
      _Tibetan Lamas
      _traveling
      _forests
      _mountaintops

May we all reliably recognize the dream state and use it to train in virtue!
    3. Really weird?

      by , 04-06-2013 at 02:30 PM
So I've wanted to experience a lucid dream for quiet some time and read a wiki how about ways to improve your chances of becoming lucid in your dreams, and one of the steps said to look at your hands and say "this is not a dream". I've been doing that often enough, but last night I kind of became aware I was dreaming. I was running away from a collapsing building and I suddenly saw my hands and thought "this is not a dream" and I found myself in my living room? I realised that I could control my dream and a great sense of power came over me, I tried to move things without touching them and this worked with small items but nothing large like the sofa, so I tried to materialise things and that didn't work either. I then went out into my kitchen where my brother and his friend were and I tried to show them why I could do but it took ages for me to move anything and when I did it was only a coin, them they left and two of my friends showed up, and then lots of other people and I forgot about the lucid dream? It's hard to explain really, I know I wasn't lucid, but can someone explain what happened? And if you have any tips on how to become lucid easier or more effective than the hand thing, I would appreciate them!
    4. Success with supplements

      by , 01-30-2012 at 06:27 PM
I've tried to lucid dream without supplements, but it just doesn't happen. I noticed that the Benzodiazepine medication I took for occasional insomnia had the interesting side effect of vivid and / or lucid dreams, but not reliably. And sometimes the dreams would occur the night after the medication.

I tried Yuschak's recommendations from his book, but the galantamine is so stimulating I couldn't fall asleep again after taking it. But the following has worked several times now.

This morning (1/30/2012) at 2:00 am: 500 mg Choline, 600 mg Alpha-GPC and 8 mg Galantamine. I lay in bed and meditated. The combination has the effect for me of promoting very deep states of meditative adsorption, which is interesting in itself. around 3:30 I took 1/4 mg Xanax (generic Alprazolam.)

Eventually I did fall asleep and managed to stay asleep after attaining lucidity. I was active, making decisions, talking to dream characters and making requests. It was great!
