Night of 10/8/12 I am lucid, though it seems to be a very low level. I have accidentally awakened an evil Goddess, who is sending horrific atrocities to torment me. A large, disturbing deity has risen up from the ground, among other horrors. Narration claims there are Holy Books at my disposal to get rid of everything, but I cannot see the books. I flee and somehow end up with a talking sheep as a companion. We enter a building and are given a riddle that has something to do with a certain "Flor." I'm assuming that it's some sort of Earth Goddess reference. Somehow it ends up being a demented Silent Hill version of my friend Amanda who crawls from a stained glass window toward me. All sorts of creepy people whose eyes and mouths are stapled shut appear. They start shooting needles at me, which hurt A LOT. I try to escape, but they swarm me and drag me to the ground. Even though I know it is a dream, it is still very freaky. I am considering whether or not to classify the dream as a nightmare while the creatures proceed to pile on top of me. I force myself into a false awakening.

Wow, one of the most detailed dreams I’ve had in a while… It’s one of those dreams where it’s like, I’m kind of watching it but I’m sort of a part of it also. I don’t know, it’s confusing. So, I’m supposedly watching a Harry Potter movie or something. There’s some part where Harry Potter is standing on this big stone wall and looking around, and he’s talking with this guy in a yellow raincoat. But that seems to be the only part that’s actually about Harry Potter. Then it switches to some subplot about some love triangle thing. Like, there’s this goddess lady and her husband is cheating on her with this other lady. So like, the three of them are in a bunk bed. The goddess is sitting on the bottom bunk, while her husband is making out with his girlfriend on the top bunk. So, the goddess lady gets super pissed and catches the house on fire with her mind powers. And her husband is all like, “Oh no! My beautiful mansion!” And she’s like, “I’m going to burn this whole house down unless you come down here right now and make sweet love to me!” And he’s like, “Uh … no.” Then he and his girlfriend jump out of the top bunk and run away. The goddess lady is very angry about this and jumps out of her bed, too, and starts chasing them. I’m chasing after them, I guess, but I’m not really a part of the story. The goddess also has a younger sister apparently, and she starts running around with all of them, too. She has this magical glowing purple dress, and it’s the only way they can all find their way around in the dark. So, I’m going after them but then I lose track of them and go into some random room, where I run into Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. And somehow I know that the house is full of “Alice in Wonderland” characters, and that they were supposed to be kept in captivity but now the goddess lady has freed them all. So, it’s absolute mayhem and whatnot. I run out of the room and across the hall to this other room, and go inside. At this point the dream seems to change plots or something. Basically, there are all these people in the room throwing toys at each other. The whole floor is absolutely covered in toys. And somehow, I know I’m supposed to join in. So, I go to one side of the room and start throwing toys at the people on the opposite side of the room. I’m standing behind this dollhouse for protection, but it falls down. Then I find this plastic Pegasus toy, which I used to have when I was younger. Just like in real life, its wings are always falling off. Only the dream version of the toy is much more complicated and the wings have like, multiple parts. And I can’t find all the parts to put it back together again. Maybe another dream? Or just another part? I’m at this My Little Pony fan club, and I have this miniature figure of Sweetie Belle that I’m playing with. I’m sitting at a table with some other girls and we’re all talking about the ponies and which ones are our favorites, etc. We get into a conversation about some robot pony that doesn’t actually exist on the real show… (I knew it was only a matter of time before I started having My Little Pony dreams.) Another part, or another dream maybe … I go into my grandparents’ house while they’re on vacation. I go upstairs and open the attic door. I notice that the stairs are suddenly different; they’ve been replaced with this blue, spiraling staircase. And I’m like, “Huh, that’s new.” Well, then I call upstairs for their cat, because I know she likes to hang out up there. I hear her meowing and she comes running eagerly down the stairs. I pick her up and start petting her, and I take her downstairs to the first floor. When I get downstairs, I find that my grandparents have gotten back from their vacation and are sitting in the living room. My uncle is with them. He starts this conversation with me about all these stupid books he’s been reading. But I haven’t read any of them so I’m just like, “Uh huh…” Then I have to go, so I go outside. I step right onto my college campus. I realize I have to go pick up a package, so I head towards the mail room. But, then I realize I don’t have my wallet, which has my I.D. card and other such important things in it. And I figure I must have left it in my grandparents’ house, so I try to go back there. And, that’s all I can remember.
I am some a future version of our world where severe economic recessions and war have devastated most countries and much of the human civilization has reverted to Mideieval era technology and feudalism. There are pockets of technological advanced socities still in existence, but they have isolated themselves from the rest of the world with cities surrounded by walls and drones to kill people trying to break in. Many countries have become lawless and chaotic because religious zealots and warlords and their tribes fight for land and resources, including most of North America, and at the beginning of the dream I am fleeing my home and I end up on a ship headed to India. I though India would be just as chaotic and poor yet fortunately there is religious tolerace and peace, and unlike most other countries, there is often running water and electricity availble in some cities. I end up living with a friend who fled North America years ago and she shares a cramped apartment with several other families above a rare bookstore which went out of business the day before I arrived. The first floor then becomes a communty meeting hall for the small village and the local Imam (who is also the head man of the town) gathers people every night to talk about relevent issues and to bring his television in so everyone can see the little bit of international news that is broadcast every now and then. One night the broadcast is interupted and highjacked by a powerful and rouge warlord in Iran who claims to have a Doomsday Machine, which will obliterate all other countries in the world except his and he is going to set it off on the next full moon, a few days from now. To prove the effectiveness of his machine, he turns it on the Australasia continent and literally wipes it off the map. The remains of the continent are smoldering boulders and much of it falls into the sea or is completely unlivable because it is desicated wasteland. The crazy warlord gives no ultimatim and so later news reports tell of how many places become even more chaotic, mass suicides occur, or alternatively some places that were so violent and dangerous before suddenly become peaceful as people resign themselves to their fate. Some how I meet a man who has just come into our village who claims to have worked on the Doomsday Machine and fled Iran when he learned what its true purpose was. He has made copies of the three electonic keys needed to gain access to the machine and shut it down, but unfortunately lost one in Pakistan while he was fleeing. He gives me the other two keys and a map of the place where he lost the other key and sends me on my way. I easily cross the border into Pakistan because there are so many people heading towards Iran, trying to get in, that no one really notices me. The small village where the lost key supposedly is lays in the ruins of what once looked like a very industrialized and technologically advanced city. I search many abandoned and decrepid old office buildings and come across a gathering of people sitting in what used to be a cafeteria or something. The floor is tiles and the roof is high, and there are rusted counters and sinks all along the walls. There are no tables and chairs any more and everyone is sitting in a circle around a few men and one woman. The men are talking about making peace with yourselves before you die and the woman sits silently admist them and yet seems to emit waves of warmth and compassion that penetrate the heart of everyone in attendence. She is filled with great love for us all, but also with a great sadness and a feeling of helplessness. She is ancient and beyond any human entity in the world and I think that she is a Goddess of some kind. She is weaving black hairbands and wristbands with scraps of yarn and passing them out to everyone in attendance. I recieve one and instantly the location of the lost electronic key appears in my mind, as if the information is being chanelled directly to me from the goddess -like woman. I head up to a higher level and find it hidden in a desk in what looks like used to be some rich CEO's office. When I go back downstairs to the cafeteria, everyone is gone and the place is dimly lit and covered in dust, like no one had been there for hundreds of years. I still have my hairband though so I know the experience was real. I follow the throngs of refugees headed for the Iranian border, but it is extremely dangerous as criminals and other unsavory characters prey on the desperate people. Many people are robbed of the few belongings they have, and many more or killed or tortured for fun. No one is safe from being kidnapped or raped and almost all who make it to the Iranian border are immediately turned away and have to go back and face the human monsters waiting for them outside of the border crossing. Those who make it into Iran do so because they bribe the guards with everything they have. I have nothing to offer so I have no idea how I am going to get in. One of the border guards asks me for my hairband and as I pull it out of my hair I see that it has turned to gold. I am let into the country and finding the Doomsday Machine isn't hard because it is being advertised on fliers and billboards in every street corner and I head to the capital (in my dream it was called Karachi, which is not the capital city of Iran but a port town in Pakistan). The dream becomes fuzzy and I cannot remember much more. I do end up shutting down the machine, but there is no big confrontation with the warlord or anything heroic like that and I thought this dream ended kind of anti-climatically.
Dream; Semi-Lucid; Lucid; Memorable; 1-4 My Recollection; 4; Justine is fighting in a kind of caged area that looks like a park... Took 100mg of B6 before I went to bed last night, then another 100mg during WBTB. I also decided to do my self-hypnosis technique, but that didn't work out very well when my cat kept stepping on me every five minutes. 1- Dreamviews of the Future ((Note: this was a very abstract dream and most of it is really difficult to put into words.)) Dreamviews is a physical place; I am exploring all of their new "features." I walk past a long line of people carrying musical instruments, whom I discover are all trying out for the new Dreamviews Marching Band. Next, I am looking at some dream journals. Each journal is it's respective member's private home, or inner sanctuary. I visit at mine first and am somewhat disturbed to find a long and very explicit dream written out for all the world to see. Why would I post that in such detail? I think of where I want to go next. I have been talking to Alice (from Resident Evil), and we have grown to be pretty close friends. So I decide to see what her journal is like. I should have known; entrance to her journal is painful and treacherous, as it is guarded by an imposing mound of thorns. Her "inner sanctuary" is more like an internal Hell, imprisoning her within her own dark thoughts. Poor Alice... I want to comfort her, but she resides in the very core of this prison. The dream ends as I am working my way towards her. 2- Saved by the Goddess My getaway will be simple. Ditch these clothes, change into the ones left over by those imbeciles, and escape through the window. I have thought of everything; except, however, drawing the shades. One of the Emperor's cronies has spied me from the open window and has called for backup. My means of escape has quickly become my downfall. I leap out the window anyway, and break into a run. There is still a chance I can get away, though now it will be far more difficult. I make it as far as the road, a dry stretch of unpaved dirt, before I am surrounded. The Emperor and his men have me covered on three sides; the Dark Forest, brimming with werewolves and other man-eating atrocities, stands imposingly to my remaining side. They do not expect me to risk such a fate. An Elven girl a few years my elder, one who I used to call Sister, grabs my arm and secures a handcuff around one wrist. "Come quietly, Princess. There is no way out." Before she can cuff my other wrist, I kick her roughly away, dodge around the Emperor's men, and take off into the forest. They dare not follow, but they don't need to. Almost immediately I am faced with a Hunter; a soul-sucking once human that reeks of fear and decay. One of the Emperor's favorite pets. He actually sent the Hunters after me? I don't know whether to be hurt or flattered. Rather than have my soul taken, I quickly dart back to the edge of the forest where the trees are less dense. Hunters, along with all the other forms of Demon-spawn, would burn in this light. However, it also means that I am once more vulnerable to the soldiers... To my amazement, a voice in by head booms, "Stay behind me!" Suddenly a large brown creature is running in front of me, which I recognize instantly as one of the envoys of the gods. I follow him without hesitation as he guides me through the treacherous forest. The sound of the soldiers' bewilderment from the forest's edge makes me smirk. One out of the forest, I am met with one of my comrades at the outskirts of an old town. It is nighttime now, and avoiding the Demon-spawn will be more difficult. The envoy wishes me luck and is gone. As soon as he disappears, we are attacked by a small shadow creature. A church is nearby, emitting light from it's stained glass windows. I throw the creature into the light, but it merely cackles. "That won't work on meeee!" it screeches. "I am not a mere shade! HE gave birth to me from his very flesh!" The creature flies directly at my face. I hold it back as my companion opens a vortex in the ground, which makes quick work of the enemy. "We need to get inside," I instruct. But as soon as we enter the church, we are met by something potentially more dangerous than shadow creatures: crazed religious fanatics. "Witches!" the ladies cry. "Burn them! Kill the witches!" "Wait!" I protest. "We just want shelter here, same as you." The ladies continue with their cries of death and burning until the oldest of them calls them to silence. She looks at my friend and I knowingly and points to the wall. "What does it say?" she asks me. A single, three letter word is etched into the wall. Her. I repeat the word with some amusement. This church was once a temple to the Goddess. How ironic. The lady details a story in which Merinia, an earth Goddess, was kidnapped and taken prisoner by the Demon King. Her power could easily have defeated the demons, if only she'd had her staff. The sacred object, however, had been stolen from her and lost somewhere in the world. I stare at the lady in shock as she hands me a beautiful, intricately carved staff. "Is this...?" She nods. "Save her," she tells me. I exit the temple/church. Demon-spawn emerge from the ground almost instantly, but the incredibly power of Merinia's staff kills them all with a single blow. I am in awe. Time passes. I have rescued the Goddess (though, it's more like She rescued me), and am now celebrating with my friends. ((Note: I don't think the name in the dream was given as Merinia. I know it started with an M, but I couldn't find an actual earth based goddess with a similar name, and since I couldn't remember it I had to make one up.))
I can't remember much of the beginning of the dream but it included a mixture of characters from Final Fantasy 7 and people I used to know in grade and high school, as well as many random dream characters. The setting takes place on a beach by an ocean and there is a huge temple by the waterfront. The building is open concept because it consists of gigantic stone pillars holding up a triangular roof and most of the floor is just made up of the sand from the beach. At one end of the temple there is a raised circular section which sits in front of a large altar upon which a scupted stone statue of a Goddess stands. The Goddess is attired in a toga and there are rollerblades on her feat. Her arms are outstreached and pours water from her hands onto the circular platform below when she wants to bless someone. The main dream character is Rosso the Crimson and she comes to the beach with the other FF7 characters. People are rollerblading in the circular altar below the Goddess statue and Rosso really wants to join in but she doesn't have any rollerblades of her own on top of not knowing how to skate. She talks to a few people and finds someone willing to lend her some blades (the person Rosso borrows from looks like my dream character Kalima) and tries to skate at the circular altar. Because she doesn't know how Rosso stumbles about and falls many times and the other people rollerblading get angry and throw her out of the circle, saying that the Goddess will bless only those who know how to skate and to try an enter the circular altar not knowing how is blasphemy. Rosso is saddened but determined to learn and she goes off to a parking lot outside of the beach to practice. Night falls and the beach and temple empty, but Rosso stays up all night learning how to keep her balance and eventually how to spin on her toes. When the morning comes and the beach and temple again fill with people, Rosso returns to the circular altar and shows off what she has learned. Most people ignore her until Rosso starts spinning around and around on her toe wheel and the Goddess statue starts pouring water from her outstretched hands onto Rosso below.
Morning of March 4, 2007. Sunday. Dream #: 14,685-02. Reading time (optimized): 2 min. I am with my youngest son at a grocery store, which seems like the store closest to where we live, to the north, but perpendicular to how it is in real life. It is possible that the rest of my family is there and shopping in another part of the store. There is an unknown woman whom I think works there. She is pretty and about thirty. It first seems as if she may be Italian, but she has a South American appearance as well. Her skin is slightly dark, and she seems to have an elaborate headpiece with bells or little silver balls on it. Later, I am unsure if she is a worker or someone who came into the store to talk to us. She reminds me slightly of a gypsy and also of my wife. She thinks my son is either carrying or is in contact with the spirit of her grandfather in addition to another. She wants to ask my son a question. She whispers it in his left ear (something that I would never agree to in real life and it even feels wrong in my dream at first). She seems to be performing a ritual, mostly only a chant-like acknowledgment of my son’s “powers.” I feel a bit uneasy and unsure of what is going on. It almost seems I am only there to take my son back home so that he will not get lost. I bow to have my son speak a name in my left ear rather loudly and clearly, but still somewhat like a whisper, but also seemingly meant to reassure me. The name is “Akna.” (Is that the mysterious woman’s name?) “Akna” does not sound familiar. A few thoughts go through my head. Acne? What is the word? Akna. Why Akna? Is it the last name of an unknown family member? I wake up, somewhat annoyed, as my dream did not seem to make sense regardless of how vivid it became. In Inuit mythology, Akna (“mother”) is a goddess of fertility and childbirth. Akna is also the name of a goddess of motherhood and birthing in Maya mythology. My wife had a baby recently and needed to have a C-Section. I certainly do not remember reading or hearing about “Akna,” though. Zsuzsanna told me our son had been doing some unusual songlike chanting before going to sleep, with a lot of m, n, and k sounds. My dream date matches the date circled in my her journal (though I had not seen it) about when she thought she would have our new baby (though it was earlier by C-section). Zsuzsanna has a theory that my dream is a result of her regret over not having her baby at the “right” time, but I have no regret and am glad she got through it. At this point, I also am wondering if it was our baby son implied as older in my dream, or our next-youngest son, although I think it was our next-youngest.
