Only some small fragments. Didn't make notes on getting up and the DJ wasn't the first priority after getting up.

      Dream Fragment:

I was helping or teaching a small boy. He was from a village called Fargoth? It was South-East from wherever I was, somewhere in the North of England. I remember seeing it on a map, a mix of an online map and a city-building game map. I remember we looked at maps together too, he talked about Spain for some reason and I remember zooming in on the deserts and seeing farmland.

      Dream Fragment:

I was helping a North American general, he wanted to take me and a group to battle somewhere specific. In the dream I had already been in battle at that place before. The general must have been in his fifties but had white hair for the most part. I remember he had a typical US soldier's helmet from decades past, not a modern one.

We went to the place and we were under fire from pretty much all directions. I remember it was dark and atmospheric, the sky was a certain mix of red and black and smoke. The general wanted to go after a certain Zen-Chi and so I lead him up a hill where I knew he was firing from or something. This entire location had small houses and maybe was a small fort or old castle? I remember a little market thing, in ruins.

At the top of this climb, mostly stone steps, there was a wooden shed. There were loads of woodworking tools on the outside, and other sharp implements that had nothing to do with woodworking.

The general wanted to go head in, I stopped him physically. I told him he couldn't, that was exactly how I'd lost a friend to Zen-Chi myself and so I decided we'd taunt him a little first. We shouted at him from outside to try and unsettle him; then we opened the creaky wooden door. It was brighter inside, there were some tungsten bulbs lighting the place. There were physical separations or curtains all over the inside, but before I went in, from the tool rack, I grabbed a long and heavy metal rod that had a perfect point at one end. It was like a cast aluminium javelin, it was odd.

Despite it's length I managed to manoeuvre inside with it. I motioned for the general to stay back and I crouched, seeing under the separators inside the shed. I could see Zen-Chi's feet. I approached slowly and heard him taunt back at us now, I can't remember what he said.

Then, when I was close enough, I struck his foot with the sharp point of the javelin, quickly pulling it back and then I think I got up and opened the barrier, which was a curtain after all, and struck Zen-Chi in the head with the sharp point, then his chest.

In that moment it was somewhat unsettling to strike him on the head, which made me feel as though I'd hesitated, but I wanted to be sure he'd die, hence the second strike on the chest.

      Notes:
      - The hesitation and unsettling feeling of striking someone in the head so brutally like I did against this dream character reflects well how I feel about certain situations in fighting. I feel it's somewhat foul to destroy someone's face and head, not to mention it paints a very gruesome picture in my imagination.

      - The plot of that dream was pretty generic, as I have no special reason to have been on either side of the dream's conflict.

      - In waking life, H pointed out that Zen-Chi seems like a pretty generic name, which may even not be a name at all, since it's just two oriental words relating to the spiritual and meditative worlds.

      - When Zen-Chi was dying, he had an expression of surprise on his face. I'm remembering now that one of the taunts that me or the general shouted at him was that we'd take all his woodworking tools once we were done with him.

      - The dream where I was helping the boy was much longer, but because I didn't make any notes and had it very early on in the morning, very few details were retained through sleeping again and having the second dream.

      - The red, black and smoke of the second dream reminded me of Stratholme in World of Warcraft. It sort of seemed to imply that the atmosphere itself was practically on fire, but during that dream I remember seeing tracer bullets and shells flying above us, very similar to a tank game I've played recently.

    2. Short fragment

I was a general, leading an army consisting of cavalry and bowmen. We were moving uphill. We could see enemy forces down the hill, in a huge valley. After placing bowmen on the hill, with cavalry we charged the enemies.
    3. Fortune Cookie and Putting on Shoes

by , 09-02-2014 at 07:59 AM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
I'm standing in a strange room, not really sure where, and realize I'm dreaming. I feel a bit mentally tired for some reason, so I decide to mostly just go with the flow of the dream rather than change it a lot. There is an army general looking guy in front of me, like the Russian guy from November Man. At least that's the role he's playing in my dream. Since I'm dreaming, I hit him across the face a few times to teach him not to be so evil. He just sits there and doesn't do anything, then gets up and motions for me to follow him. He walks over to a door, and opens it to a black void and steps through, disappearing out of the room.

I tell him to, "wait, I just need to find a fortune cookie" as I remember one of the Tasks. I reach into my right pocket expectantly, but its empty. I try my left pocket - empty. I reach into my back pockets, and they are empty too. I notice a shelf on the wall, full of bags of chips. "There's always fortune cookies stashed away on the back of shelves like this" I tell myself as I reach far back. I have to stand on my tip toes to reach back to the end, and I push all the chips over to the right as I feel around back there. Then I feel it - "A'ha!" I'm excited to see what it has to say. Before I open it, I wish that whatever wisdom I receive from this cookie, that it is beneficial for everyone and helps me as well in profound ways. I unwrap it, break it open, and scarf down half of it as I pull the tiny paper out. I notice that it tastes just like a regular fortune cookie.

I look at the fortune, and everything starts to get really blurry and the room starts to spin, everything starts fading as well. It seems like I'm about to wake up. I tell myself that, "I'm in control here, I can do what I want!" and remind myself that I'm dreaming, I have a dream body, and I'm standing in this dream room, about to read a fortune cookie. I'm holding the fortune upside down, so I rotate it right side up. As I do so, the lettering all changes to become very cryptic. I remember from looking at it upside down that it said something to the effect of, "It's godly to have no delusions, but look in your garden" I want to get a more accurate impression of the punctuation, spelling and so forth, but the more I look at the fortune, the more cryptic it becomes until it's just dots and commas, maybe a y and a j on there, but the message has completely changed. I look away and look back, but it is still losing clarity - mark by mark on the tiny paper.

I decide that I've milked that task for all I can so far, and remember the shoe task. I sit down at the table in the same room, and put a shoe on each foot. They just spontaneously appeared in front of me as I sat down, and my feet were just wearing socks, so it was really smooth. They even fit! Just regular running shoes. The room spins a little, and I'm now standing in a hallway, walking through a dorm building to my room. I really have to go to the bathroom, but I again remind myself that I'm dreaming, focus on my body, and my environment, and some sort of plan. That's it, a plan! What was I doing? I remember the shoes task again, but am not really sure I ever tied my shoes.

I walk into my room, the middle of which is a shower, surrounded by bunk beds. I don't see anyone else in the room. The lighting is rather dim, and I'm dressed like I'm about to take a shower (well, not dressed at all it turns out). The water turns on by itself, and the whole room seems to have become a shower. As the water pours down on me, I enjoy how warm and relaxing it feels. Now for the shoes. I normally wouldn't put shoes on in this situation, but I'm not satisfied with how it went earlier. Bending over, shoes again appear next to my feet. Some sort of running shoes again. I put them on, and tie a granny knot on each shoe - now soaked through and through from the shower.

Having to go pee really bad, I question just going in the dream, but don't want to wet myself IRL, so I hold it. Holy crap it burns I have to go so bad though. I remember drinking a 1/2 gallon of water just before bed, so it's probably an accurate signal.

I lose lucidity, and find myself on a boat, being excommunicated from my town, sent south along a river to Mexico or somewhere. Basically anywhere but where I was. It is a nice day, and I enjoy the sun as my room mates and I are floating down stream. I ask where they think we're going, and they don't know. Then my room mate RZ grabs onto a rope, and opens a sail, then jumps off our boat onto a raft. Pulling at the rope, he builds up some tension, then leaps off the raft and flies through the air, leaving us all behind to watch him fly away.

Then I wake up, having to pee, but not that bad.
    4. In some random bot-war

      In some random bot-war (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I boarded some sort of train, as I planned to go to some place that I cannot recall. As I was about to get to the place, I was given an assault gun that was exactly like the plastic ones they use against Magneto in one of the movies. But not as toy like:

I was wondering what was going on and why in heavens I would need a gun. I realized that we were going to some sort of war and I was dressed like a military.

I got out of the train and there were some war-bots wandering around, so I destroyed a couple of them. One of them, had a cable hanging on its butt, so I pulled it and destroyed the bot. Some other bot said, "Pull his cable then" and they pulled out something from my back and I lost focus for a few moments.

From here, I went to some sort of war court, as apparently, I did a war crime for some reason. There were a lot of generals who appeared pissed, but I had no idea why was I in so much trouble. But I saw a friendly face, one of the judges that was surprised to see me there.

He told me to speak with him, just the both of us. We entered some sort of mobile building. In the office, there was a calendar with a schedule that said:

      Monday - Kill
      Tuesday - Kill
      Wednesday - Murder
      Thursday - Murder
      Friday - Murder
      Saturday - Kill
      Sunday - Kil

I started to worry, I did not want to fight any war and my gun did not work well, sometimes, it would shot by itself.

I shared with the general that my gun was not working and that I got there by accident and I wanted to go home. I told him I am a Psychic Medium and not a Soldier and that I could not do anything being there at war.

He appeared to understand me and he gave the order to ship me home. I was relieved.

    5. NONLUCID Quest to Save the World

      by , 05-06-2014 at 05:38 PM
Supp: Melatonin, B6, REM rebound (ganja)

A friend and I procured a large bag of sausage links and scurried off to an industrial plant, skateboarding on our bellies and jumping over obstacles, where a myriad of school buses were parked. No one else was there. We went in, he vanished, replaced by a brooding hero who was to join me on my quest. He offered me my weapon, a very large stone, along with a choice of a few pieces of enchanted jewelry. I donned an amulet and a headpiece, and we entered in. The first sight to greet my eyes was a couple of dwarves, which my manager from work had just warned me about. The room they were in was tilting, and they were flying up against the wall wildly. I walked past them and started clobbering the heads of whoever I would meet. They didn't strike me as violent at all, but they were enemies, I suppose.. at one point near the end, a defeated enemy took my stone from and hit the head of one of his friends so hard I'm surprised he just looked dazed and not dead. I took the stone from him. I exited to a center column of a tower, where I found nature mixed in with the mechanization. A group of important people were there, I walked across a bridge that zipped over the empty space and verbally assaulted the general in charge, as he didn't understand the magnitude and significance of what I had just done (neither do I, hahah). He wore five hats, and took them off, put them on again. A co-worker told me we had saved the world. Not bad for acting like cavemen.
    6. Nov 29, 20 Dream Journal: Pu Pu Platter of Dreams

These are all coming from memory, so they are just remnants of what I can recall:

      Nov. 29 pt. 1
I'm at the top of a very thin mesa in the desert, and I'm looking for an ancient city/treasure. I also happen to be friends with a small pack of desert wolves (awesome!). I descend via rope through an opening to enter the mesa, while the wolves remain up top as guards. There is a path/tunnel on my landing spot, and I follow it with my torch.

Dream ends when my alarm went off.

      Nov. 29 pt. 2
Not very clear, but I know that I'm in my "general" persona again in one of my dreams. I see a world map, and the faction I'm in is based on an island off the northeast section of the world. I'm tasked with spreading our territory, but the entire coastline is blocked off by a faction that's at least 20 times bigger than us.

In another, I was supposed to be playing a concert. Only I'm in no way, shape, or form nearly good enough to be playing in stadium, so I'm real nervous about dick-fingering it up on the stage.

There were a couple more, but they were muddled at best.

      Nov. 30
I vaguely recall I was in a game show? I say this because I remember a very gaudy, lit background with a backdrop, so that is probably a stage. The "host" is a man in a green pin-striped suit, and he also sports an over-the-top blond pompadour. He has an exaggerated speaking-style, kind of like a hype man, and I'm speaking to him face to face.

In another dream, I was playing with a golden retriever in the city. I was throwing a Frisbee, but I keep throwing wide, and the dog is starting to get pissed off at me for my horrible tosses.

I think I was also a cop in another dream, but that's a guess at best.
    7. Oct 27, 28 Dream Journal: *Glove Slap* I challenge you to a duel!

      by , 10-27-2013 at 10:13 PM
Well, I had a pretty elaborate dream.

I dreamed I was in an ancient Chinese setting as a general again. I'm currently in the market place of a major city, and the view is isometric style like a DOS RPG game, and I'm going around point-and-click style, solving side quests; only in this case, each and every side quest is basically challenging some right bastard to a duel, in which my vision shifts to a combat screen (the view is still isometric, and the combat screen's background recycles the same "market" image). It reminds me a lot of Koei's Sangokushi V's duel screens, and I was able to check my combat rating via Dream Knowledge stat screen; I'm a 95 -- sweet! Also, I'm such a nerd.

So ANYWAYS, Dream Knowledge tells me I'm already pretty immersed in side-questin', and the first combat that I "participated" in was against some thugs terrorizing the market place. I won pretty handily, and I also like the blue/red/white outfit I'm in. Also, in "world map" view, I walk around on foot, but the second I'm in combat, I'm riding around on a white horse. Also, combat is very pixelated. Again, such a nerd.

My second side-quest duel has me fighting a rival general serving some other warlord. I open up the stat screen again and saw that his combat rating is about 73 (or something along those lines). So of course I kick his ass.

My third side-quest has me fighting a scholarly-looking guy who challenged me. I pull up my handy Dream Knowledge Stat Screen, and his combat stat is 97. Dammit, it's a trap! Also, my health hasn't recovered fully from my previous two fights before. So I pause my fight against him, grind on random encounters (my dream is a fan of old-school JRPG's, apparently) until one of the rare-drops a special sword that boosts my combat rating, and THEN continue my fight against the scholar guy. But wait, I forgot to refill my HP! Fortunately, I catch a break when I get a lucky roll (also, my brain is a D&D nerd now) of the dice, except the dice are Dominoes tiles; I "roll" a six (the max value) and my opponent rolls a one. That allows me to perform some crazy super move to beat the guy, which allows me to level-up, refill my HP, AND improve my base combat rating to 97 (not including the bonus from my drop). Sweet!

I fight the Boss Thug next, which isn't nearly as tough. His special thing is that he's running around with a pack of dogs and terrorizing the people in the market. In the fight, I just whistle really sharply, which scares away five of his dogs each time. Three rounds of whistling later, all his dogs are gone. He surrenders.

My last side quest triggered when I noticed a new NPC hanging out near a stand. She's a lady wearing a widow's outfit, and when I talk to her, I get a single text bubble that explains she is forced to marry someone, and will I help her? Yes/No.

I choose Yes, and suddenly, her fiancee appears. Turns out he's a court adviser and powerful sorcerer who, upon entering the combat screen, transforms into the form of a dragon made out of goddamned lava; the upper-half of his human form is visible in the dragon's aura, and is able to cast spells. Oh, poop.

Luckily, this lava dragon sorcerer guy had one unfortunate fatal flaw: he has an overly elaborate attack animation, and I just "jab" at him so that I keep interrupting his attack while I chip his HP away. Yes, again, giant nerd. After winning, the sorcerer guy is temporarily stunned, and I escape with the lady on horseback to the country side. Apparently, the country of this world is made entirely of candy, and at one point in our flight from the city, we passed by Yoda's hut and the Witch's candy house from Hansel and Gretel. That was pretty sweet (heh heh).

It's also at this time I had a costume change, and it's pretty cool according to my brain. It's a mixture of medieval Europe white/silver plate armor, but with early Chinese terracotta styling. It also features use of fur that matches the scheme, and some sort of cape/scarf. Sadly, when I tried to sketch it while I was awake, I realize that my dream keeps creating contradicting details (i.e. the shoulders would shift between having a fur trim to plate armor to robed covers).

ANYWAYS, Dream Knowledge reveals that the lady was forced into a political marriage to form an alliance, and my meddling has already caused an uproar. The bright side is, the two nations ally anyways over their mutual desire to see me captured, so... glad to be of help? The wedding dowry was also apparently 40 tanks, and I'm suddenly in an infomercial-esque screen while the lady describes how powerful these modern tanks are. Because yes, I'm sure fucking tank shells are pretty handy against spearmen. I also know that Miracle Pans from Mr. Show are up next in the infomercial. Nicely done, subconscious!

I somehow end up chasing after a tank on horseback, Indy in Last Crusade style. I leap on the tank and grab on like I'm climbing around in Shadows of the Colossus, complete with looking for a weak point to stab. But sadly, I wake up from this dream before I could find the glowing sigil.

      Oct 28
Can't remember what happened in my dream, but whatever it was woke me up at 4:30
    8. Oct 14 Dream Journal: Leading an Army

      by , 10-14-2013 at 07:26 PM
I'm in a court of some sort, and I am arguing with what must be the judge (or some sort of authority figure of the law). It was a heated or acrimonious argument, nor do I think I was in any sort of legal trouble (I think. I vaguely remember I wasn't. I think I felt like irritation more so than confrontation in the argument, but, no, fuck that guy).

The scene changes, and now the judge is a warlord from an ancient Chinese setting, and I was one of his generals. Eventually, I deduced that I was the general Zhao Yun, a historical person who has more impact as a literary figure than actual. Either way, it's kinda great, since he's kind of the guy I read most as a kid and grew up wanting to (and still aiming to) be like. The judge/warlord and I aren't fighting now, but I suppose the lingering animosity from before made it uncomfortable now that I'm a subordinate. So, no, fuck him again.

I don't know when I got an army, but all of a sudden I'm leading an army. We land on a beach, and the setting is like a watercolor illustration of a mystical, divine realm. The setting reminded me of pictures in a storybook, and suddenly, I realized that not only am I a character IN a storybook, I also have Dream Knowledge that I come out winning at the end of this story. So I set off on my journey (my army disappeared now, by the way. Way to ditch me, guys) towards my inevitable destiny(?), but after a long build-up preparing to set off, I wake up and the story ends. I assume this is what the first Hobbit movie was like.

Now that I have time to think about it, I'm not sure if, when I was a general, I am leading an army to conquer a peaceful land of mystical creatures (like Avatar), or am I providing reinforcements to said mystical creatures (like Avatar after all pretension that a story exists is over).
