2013-05-27 Woke several times before alarm; never remembered any dreams until morning. Almost everything seems like a big blur. Fragment 1: I was at my grandparents' house, though it was very different. We were all having Thanksgiving dinner and I managed to make some crazy stuff happen, which I fixed by adjusting all of the light switches to certain positions. Eventually, this turned into a sort of ship with all kinds of doors and passage ways and we got a big problem that was interesting and involved a lot of fighting to solve. Fragment 2: There was a city that sort of reminds me of those first Sonic games. There were multiple ways through and one aspect was seeing how fast you could go. Occasionally, a thing would pop up. I could never get past two of them. There was a giant elevator in the centre of the city that I was eventually meant to take, but I don't remember what was up there. Fragment 3: The first thing I remember was being in the van on the way to a restaurant and wanting to bring an empty water bottle in, which I drank while running to the door of the restaurant. We went to that restaurant twice: once for Mothers' Day and once for Fathers' Day. After those, I was at my dad's house and I kept needing something to drink, but I could never find a cup. Fragment 4: I was at the school, looking for hidden openings behind parts of the walls and found that as a Rhydon, I could easily climb all over the wall and break through. I started following instructions given by some evil person, kept finding all sorts of powerup things, and eventually ended up in a computer lab with a class in it and I had a dragon. It downloaded all of the information and blew fire around all of the room, though nothing really happened from the fire. The teacher and I talked while the dragon finished downloading everything. Then, the class left the room. Fragment 5: I was at my mom's, having battles against my sister. She once threw a couch down the stairs at me and started saying how "Java has no multithreading". Eventually, we were breeding Pokemon to get new types and I was following a pretty good guide with my brother and ended up with a pretty good result, but had far fewer in total than my sister. I eventually ended up in a room on the other side of the bathroom from my sister and eventually, we were in her bedroom, battling, even though I was planning to get another of the really good type. I won and I realized I was playing a new Pokemon game. The ending credits had a part where it was panning along a street near my house. I could even read a street sign, though it was blurred, and thought that was weird for a Pokemon game.
The second of two LDs from the morning of 05/18/2013. This was a big, big dream, and this dream and I did not always get along. This was my first serious attempt at meeting NewArtemis for a dream sharing attempt. I also got into a big fight with a powerful DC that escalated into a me against the world situation. I could have handled this a lot better. My self-control wasn't what it should be... but it was still kinda awesome. Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid Lucid #96: Clash at the Alamo I'm Marty McFly from Back to the Future, driving my DeLorean on a set of rails that stand hundreds of feet over a bay. The DeLorean starts to shake as it picks up speed and before I can make a time jump, the rails end and the car goes plummeting toward the sparkling water. I brace for impact and the DeLorean flies to pieces as it strikes the bay. Miraculously, I'm unharmed, and I thrash about for something to hold on to so that I can get my bearings and figure out what to do. One long, fin-like piece of metal from the car bobs to the surface and I grab onto it. The moment that I do, an unseen engine roars to life and takes off like a jet ski. As I'm racing across the bay, I realize that this has to be a dream. After riding for a moment, I'm perhaps a hundred feet from shore. I leap off the impromptu "jet ski" and fly the remaining distance, landing in a stone plaza that stands at the water's edge. I remember that I'm planning to meet NewArtemis at the Alamo for a shared dreaming experiment. I turn toward the water, raise my hands up in the air, and make an announcement to all of the DCs. Most of the passerby stop and turn to look at me. "The Alamo is right behind me! That's right -- Alamo right behind me!" I imagine it in detail, rebuilding my mental map, forgetting and scrubbing out the buildings that were there before and replacing it with my image of everything that I remember about the Alamo. I continue this until I can think of nothing of what's behind me except for this image of the Alamo. I turn around, expecting to see the Alamo... and there it is! The stone's a little darker and the construction looks a little too new to be quite right, but it's more than close enough of a lookalike for me. I walk around past the front entrance to a courtyard. The geography is different in this dream from that of the real Alamo, and I come to a stone wall with a little alcove and a bench. There's a woman sitting on the bench and we look at each other immediately. She gets up and approaches me right away. She doesn't look like NewArtemis' DC has in the past, but I'm not sure of anything yet. She speaks first: "I'm here to meet someone. How about you?" "So am I," I say, studying her. She's roughly the same height as Art's DC but her skin is paler, her hair curlier, her build heavier, and her face is different -- broader, different nose, different shape... just different. "But you're not her, are you? I don't think you're [NewArtemis]." She smiles noncommitally, but I continue. "That's okay," I continue. "Let's still do the passphrases and gestures." I speak my chosen word to the DC and perform my chosen gesture. She doesn't bother speaking a passphrase in return but she does perform a gesture. (These have been reported to a 3rd party who is not NewArtemis just in case she's able to guess them.) "Well, I need to go!" the woman says. She walks out of the alcove and passes me. As she goes, she becomes a much older lady, blonde, mid-50s. She grows to an enormous height, probably close to 8 feet tall. She's wearing shorts and I see that her legs are covered with a crisscrossing patchwork of scars. I contemplate following, but I'm distracted by a man who's sitting at the top of a stone wall nearby, staring at me with a malicious grin on his face. He's in his late 30s with close-cropped reddish-blonde hair. The guy keeps staring at me with that joyless grin and I know that he's looking for trouble with me. I want no part of it, so I turn and walk away. He hops down from the wall and grips my right forearm with his right hand, twisting my arm around so that my hand is near my head. I try to pull my arm out of his grip but when I yank, it doesn't budge. He laughs, shaking his head as if he can't believe that I would bother trying to defy him. "You're never leaving here," he says. "I mean it. You are never leaving here." I yank my arm again but I feel as weak as a kitten. I know I have to turn this around fast. I grab him by the back of the head with my left hand and begin to imagine my adversary as frail and lethargic. "You're so weak and tired," I tell him, trying to sound compassionate, even though I'm boiling with rage. "There's just no strength left in you at all." And I gently move to lay him down on a nearby table. I think of him as totally weak and barely able to move. His grip slips from my arm and he flops backward onto the table. "And small," I say, pressing on his head with one hand and his feet with the other. He begins to shrink. His hair has turned jet black now, and his eyes close. I squeeze him together, thinking of him as so tiny, and soon he shrinks to the size of a child, then to the size of a baby, then disappears into his clothes entirely. My self-control cracks and I ball up his clothes, throw the bundle on the ground, and give it a vicious stomp. I wonder for a moment whether I've gone too far and hope for a moment that the bundle was empty. I walk through a nearby archway, not sticking around to find out more. I emerge in a cafeteria. A table of 6 or 7 teenagers immediately looks up from their meals at me. "It's him," one of them says, and they all get to their feet and come after me. I fly through a nearby doorway and emerge in a large, empty room with a skylight. I fly up to the skylight, intending to phase through it, but something seems to restrain me from getting high enough. I run through a doorway into a drugstore that dead-ends in a frosted glass window. I vault toward it, phasing through onto a street scene. There are police everywhere on the street. I know that they're looking for me. There are strange little ball-shaped hoverbots scanning the streets with cameras, also trying to track me down. I sprint up to one and kick it against a nearby wall. With a pop, it breaks into two smoking, fizzling halves. Everything seems to be happening too fast for me to control. I run down the street, looking for some way out of this fear. I want to buy time to calm down, so I phase through the door of a nearby house. Cops are turning the place over while the family, a husband and wife and their little girl of about 8 are glued to the TV. One cop notices me as I walk in, but I swoop in on him, grab him from behind, and choke him unconscious. The other two cops don't seem to notice any of this, and the little family stares obliviously into their TV sets. I watch the TV for a moment. It's some sort of political propaganda which claims that the moral code of their "great society" is built upon a foundation of classic arcade games like Centipede, Pac-Man, and Donkey Kong. I'm torn -- on one hand, I find top-down, statist morality codes repugnant. On the other hand, I sure do love classic arcade games. I phase out through the back of the house into the yard. The cops yell at me as I pass and I hear them calling for backup. The back yard is peaceful for a moment before the wail of what sounds like an air raid siren fills the air. I look up at the sky, feeling helpless, trying to find peace for a moment. But all I can think is They're coming for me. The dream ends...

2 dreams this time. 1. Playing intramural volleyball at NCU. Didn't really want to, but for whatever reason it was the way out of the situation. Fit in with usual feelings of not being where I belong. Really small court in a corner of a massive recreational center. Court was so small I got down on my knees and was able to play in my space. Each side had about 9 people in it, so we were tight. Other player who was actually a friend screwed up and missed a ball and I was mean and said 'Oh, come on!" for which I felt bad. 2. Dark umber/brown land, orange/brown sky. Everything is a burnt coloration in a desert. There is a town in the distance along a road, and a house on the road outside of town. Several rough cowboyish characters are attacking me, I defend against them and they run away. Another ruffian comes up, not attacking me. He attacks them and chases them off. He's got a big bowie knife and a rough face. As we walk through this house there's blood everywhere; smeared on the walls, floors, etc. He tells each story of each bloodsmear. "This one was from when they cut off Jim's head", etc. We walk back outside and a lady is walking by. She hears the stories and sees some of the blood. "These bloodstains are so horrible!" she says. "I hope no one has to paint any more of them," the rough guy says.
Dreamed that I was in a room about the size of the racketball courts at the gym that had one door in the front to get in or out. Me and two friends (I don't remember who) had to fight and kill the other people to escape. This particular set of foes was led by a woman who was known for putting booby traps in an area and around the exit. She and her cronies came in, and we started testing each other as one or two of her group would come over and try to attack. I had a rather flimsy but razor sharp ribbon of metal/sword thing and I don't remember what my partners had. One of the bad guys came over, and he was older and told us that he was with the FBI and was trying to shut this place down and arrest those involved, but that we would be arrested too if we didn't lay down our weapons. I angrily told him that I didn't see anyone arresting anyone yet but that I didn't know if he was for real or not so I told him to get away from me. If he was right, I'd defend myself in court. Otherwise, he could be tricking us.
I was in my kitchen making some food downstairs and I saw some strange looking man outside, he had black slicked back hair and a ragged shirt. I went outside to confront him and he had a friend, they were coming towards me slowly and I put my guard up. I started to get really angry that these men were on my property and wouldn't explain themselves so I told them I had a crow-bar inside the door and if they tried anything I'd knock them out. Then my friend Zak came out from my house and joined me, (Zak's like as buff as a freaking lion just FYI) so then I knew we could take them easily, I punched the left one in the jaw and he got knocked out cold, Zak started to fight the other. I can't remember the rest of the fragment.
One of two lucids last night, the other one was way less interesting. Lucidity: 9/10 Control: 7/10 Vivacity: 8/10 I'm in an amusement park, with my sister and my brother. They drag me in a deadly attraction. The rules are simple : you gotta pass several deadly traps. Only three persons can survive. If over three persons do, one' s gotta sacrifice himself and some people will come and kill him. We pass through all the trap; I specifically remember one where there was loads of (very) dangerous spiders. We pass through those, and we all survive. Oh, ok then. My mum comes and wants to do it with us. I' m all like " WTF ?! we' re four, one of us' s gotta die anyways ! " But they don' t listen to me, and once again they drag me into this shit. We pass all the traps, they all have some trouble passing through the spiders ... Here. We' re four. Every one panics, and my brother decides to sacrifice himself. He gives me a letter in which he says that i' m a good sword fighter and that he' s got a key that opens some important things (I' ll have to find that important thing in another lucid). I become lucid. I think about dreamwalking but I feel an epic battle coming; I would miss that for nothing in the whole world - not even a shared dream. A wave of excitement hits me. I see a shadow in the nearby forest (under us, we' re at the sixth floor of a building). It' s fast. I look for a weapon. I want a weapon. I get to a carpet full of swords ... no shurikens. I wanted a shuriken to try my technique "duplication" out, but I' ll have to do without it. Dammit I get a sword, it' s got sharp teeth like butcher knives do. I come back in the room and I look through the wide window. Heck yeah. A tsunami of enemies is running to us. They won' t get us. I lock the door, break the window and jump in the scrimmage. I punch and cut everywhere, people are flying everywhere, that' s terrible. After some time fight I get that the only way to win the battle is to kill the leader. I jump back in the building and look for the most powerful guy. There you are. I fly to the cave in which he fight a guy; I throw my sword, hoping to use my technique ... I forgot the name. I try to duplicate the sword just by thinking of it ... but as I feared, it does nothing. The sword hits a ... Susano' o https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/i...JVwHw2ScQKH3MQ Dammit. I land on the floor, hard. The guy looks at me, he was fighting another guy before, not anymore. Somehow I get pretty strong (really), and we start fighting ... but I wake up before beating him up - or get beaten up.

I was out on a date with M. I had on a suit, I want to say she was wearing a black dress. We boarded a sky ride with seats that were shaped like they were built for roller coasters. We weren't traveling high, but through a building which let out into a street. I remember putting my arm around her, and we were cracking jokes at the random people we saw. Ahhhhh people watching. I'm fighting people down a set of stairs. They're armed with bows, and I'm using a katana one handed. Most of them are dead, and two beautiful girls are left. I grabbed her hand, and elbow and turned the bow towards her stomach. She told me to kill her. I felt her grip loosen, and she let go. She said no one could do it any better. I said "You want me, Auron, the master of swords, to kill you with a bow", and woke up. First dream, was completely related to my old friend M...I went to sleep thinking what would happen if we would have ever become more than friends. I have no idea about the second dream...not even sure why I referred to myself as Auron.
Although the lucid portion was shorter than I'd have liked there were two awesome things about this dream: 1) I finally broke my dry spell. 2) I played the part of a bulked-up, ghost-hunting Stephen LaBerge. Who could ask for anything more? Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid Lucid #85: Stephen LaBerge, Ghost Hunter I am Stephen LaBerge, and I've been hired to investigate an apparently haunted cruise ship. The vessel's owners aren't sure whether the ship is haunted or whether this is all a dream. Therefore they've invited me, Stephen LaBerge, to investigate. I'm standing outside the ship, waiting to board. The crew shuffles past me on the gangway, leaving the ship empty for me to investigate. I board the ship, and quickly become lost in a maze of hallways. Creepy, whispering voices and strange groans echo through the halls. I feel wimpy, vulnerable, and way out of my depth. Looking for a place to hide, I duck into one of the ship's bathrooms. Suddenly it occurs to me that I should prove to myself that this isn't all just a dream. I quickly realize that I am dreaming after all. The moment that I become lucid, my confidence comes flooding back. I check my look in the mirror, and find that even though I'm still Stephen LaBerge, I'm now enormously, cartoonishly muscular. I'm wearing a dress shirt that looks like it was torn to ribbons when I did my Incredible Hulk transformation. I hit a double biceps pose in the bathroom mirror and smile at the sight of Stephen LaBerge's head on this freaky, bulky body. Suddenly, one of the stall doors in the bathroom slams shut. I'm still sort of stuck in ghost hunting mode, so this frightens me a bit. I hang onto lucidity, though, muttering to myself that "I'm having a really stable lucid dream..." I walk up to the stall door that slammed shut and kick it right at the latch. It swings wide open and I'm relieved to see that there's nobody in there. I walk to the next stall in the bathroom and for reasons that I can't remember, I stick my head into this stall to see if there's anything interesting in there. This time, the door slams shut right on my face, striking me in the nose. It doesn't hurt very much but it scares me and makes me stagger back. Just then, a hand caresses the back of my neck and I absolutely freak, losing lucidity and running out of the bathroom into the halls. There's a bit of a memory gap here, but I spent a lot of time running lost through the halls and looking out of portholes. I can see the ocean through these portholes but I've lost sight of the docks or any kind of land. During this time, ghosts definitely keep touching me and it definitely keeps wigging me out. Ultimately I make my way deeper into the ship. I end up in a hot, dark boiler room, engaged in a fistfight with some kind of green-hued stone man that I think is a demon. (He sort of reminds me of Frank Fontaine from the final battle in Bioshock.) We're punching, shouting, and cursing one another. I think of how odd it is that I am Stephen LaBerge fighting a green demon in the boiler room of a cruise ship and briefly become lucid before the dream ends.
I'm at a bar, or a party and some random guy comes up to me and starts talking about a time when I smeared french onion dip in his face and he beat my ass for it.I couldn't remember that moment for the life of me, and had no idea what he was talking about. I figured maybe he was drunk so I went along with it. Then he goes and retells the story to some random dc with his arm around me... I took his arm away and said "I'm pretty sure I was drunk if it happened, and you wouldn't stand a chance it happened now. He kept talking crap, and a fight ensued. I was punching him with everything, and eventually I grabbed the pool table, and broke his legs with it. There is more to this dream...I remember hanging out with some women or something, but I can't piece it together. I'm driving down the main street in our town, and there are all types of theme park rides set up at the car dealerships. I mean these things look like something I wouldn't even get on. One was a big ball of seats that sling slung hundreds of feet in the air. It was moving, but there weren't any people in it. I get to this rural area that I don't recognize, and talk to a few DCs. Two of the girls came with me in the van, and I told them I was on a mission. I told one of them to drive, and we get to a huge factory. They don't believe that we're going to find anything, but just when one of them says that, We come across a crack plant. It was really weird. They had huge bags of cocaine wrapped in aluminum foil. All of them went inside and came out with guns. They started shooting, but nothing was happening. I ran back and searched through my backpack for my guns (told myself they'd be in there from the beginning but they weren't). Another dc told me they were in another bag, and I searched it....no guns. woke up.
I remember fighting someone, and having issues with my teeth. I rubbed my tongue along them and realized they felt different. Like they were more concave than usual.
It started a little bit different this time. I'm inside a cafeteria just under a multiple story home and I'm not sure how but, I became lucid when I was facing a set of drinking machines. It's creepy how some of the mantras worked before early this morning. I was laid on my bed, under the sheets and just to give it a try, I whispered to myself, "I'm going to have a lucid dream" a couple of times. I used to never believe they'd work. Now that I was lucid, I tried to maintain my cool. I didn't want to lose lucidity so fast, so I relaxed and tried not to do anything big at the second. At the time I also thought about being in a actual dream and how amazing it felt knowing my body was still in reality. I escaped the real world to take a break from it and explore a whole new world filled with all of my wishes. After calming down for a bit I started to try and destroy the world around me. I tend to use my magical powers to destroy things in dreams. It's not really one of my goals to use in dreaming. There was nothing much in this small cafeteria to destroy so I moved up to the higher levels using EcoCityCraft's compass powers. I decided I wanted to do something in the dream, like steal. I walked down the hall of a nice, cozy suburban home. The rooms were silent. I walked in to a room that was almost empty. To my left was a closet room. I walked towards that area, open the door, and found something to steal. Maybe not so much steal but breaking too. I saw a lot of candy bags on top of the closet shelf. I started grabbing some of them but couldn't tell whether I should rob them or rip the bags apart. It sort of gave me a feeling of excitement. There was a door behind this area I first walked in to. I made sure it was closed so no one else would walk in. But as soon as that happened, I noticed someone coming. I didn't get a chance to do much, but to fight with baseball bats. Neither of us got hurt, but that's how the dream ended.
So here' s a really cool lucid dream; I find it interesting as it is the first time I try to summon a monster . ___________________________ Lucidity : 8/10 Control : 8/10 Vivacity : 6/10 No idea of how I became lucid or what happened before, but I do become lucid without any reality check that I can remember. I am in a cave, its walls look like they are made of ice, it is pretty spacious with some rocks here and there. I didn't have a lot of time to look around because I noticed someone standing on a big, icy rock full of icicles : it' s Tobi, from Naruto. This guy' s got a mask and a long, black coat with red clouds on it. I take a step back and remember what I told myself this whole week "I' ll summon a monster" . I was supposed to summon a monster that I drew (it' s a buffalo - like giant monster, with some kind of ape' s arms and a powerful tail with a mass at its end) but I could not remember his name (I have trouble with it even in real life). I need the monster' s name to summon him in order to get exactly what I want, so after a second I screamed : " Summoning justsu, Kyuubi ! " and put my hand on the ground ( lol I am really a big fan of Naruto ). I see writings appearing on the ground, it forms a circle with 3 lines crossing it. I'd say it has a diameter of around one meter. Problem : I feel the dream fading away, becoming little by little a simple thought; I press hard on the ground so that I can finish summon Kyuubi and at the same time stabilize the dream. It won' t be enough. I wake up. I sit down on my bed and turn the light on. After a second I decide to try and DEILD anyways. I get back in the dream, I am apparently done summoning Kyuubi. In fact, I summoned him and exchanged our minds . I am Kyubi, a giant daemon fox with nine powerful tails. I remember running to the ennemy ... but unfortunately I forgot what happened next ... [...] I am now in the same cave, but with another ennemy ( I don' t know who that was ). I try some telekinesis and it works pretty well, and for some reason Tobi decides to help me with this ( apparently my previous attack was not that effective ). I get the guy to fall back and smash a wall, but when Tobi and I unite our powers, the guy flies away on my left. I don' t remember anything else, I probably lost my lucidity. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I continued on with some other dreams I don' t remember, that' s probably why I forgot part of this LD.

I don't know what was going on, but my SGTs were made at me about something. I ended up getting my ass handed to me. I was wearing glasses, and they broke them. The next day they took mem to get some more. I was pissed off and sad at the same time. Just felt horrible.
#1 - Don't recall the dream much, but recall thinking, "If I were lucid, this would be more vivid." d'oh! That's close, though... my near-lucids usually indicate I'll have a dream-induced lucid dream within the next night. #2 - I dream I work in a store. We are selling $20,000.00 coffee cups, and a whole row of them got broken (not my fault). I get into an argument with my boss, who treats all people with disabilities as if they are stupid, which infuriates me. I call my friend M__ and complain about it because I know she'll understand. #3 - I am going up a river bank with a bunch of other people. I don't recall why, I think it was a picnic or social gathering or something. It's getting close to dusk. I suddenly hear gunfire and see the muzzle flash of automatic weapons. Naturally, everybody panics. We weren't doing anything violent and obviously didn't expect to be shot at. There's nowhere to run - we can go backwards, away from the river, for some reason (I don't remember why). Now we are being shelled as we scramble along the river bank. There's smoke everywhere and everybody is panicking. Up ahead, through the smoke, I see a bunch of soldiers. From their uniforms, they're friendly toward us. They're returning fire across the river and indicating for us to move toward them so they can get between us and our attackers, but there's a whole stretch of bank to cross and it's under fire. In addition, the bank is very crowded and it's difficult to get everybody to move in a specific direction instead of running in random directions and flipping out. #4 - I am renting a room in an apartment. The room is very small and I'm putting my furniture together and thinking about how to arrange it. My friend Z__ wants to meet up since he heard I moved back to town. I am thinking about how much money I need to make before I can rent my own apartment. I'm putting trash in a trash basket, but it's made of plastic mesh and all of the trash keeps falling through the spaces in it.
I dreamed several dreams, and woke between each. *side notes *gaining lucidity *lucid #1 - I was having difficulty doing something. That's all I remember. Dream fragment. Woke. Did Reality Check. Attempted WILD; failed, fell asleep. #2 - I am in a house. I'm looking for a bathroom. There's no bathroom, because I didn't have enough in-game gold to buy an expansion. I discover that some of the red and white scented candles I've been buying were made by my cousin. He's been lying about having a regular desk job. Woke, used bathroom. Reality Check. Attempted WILD; failed, fell asleep. #3 - A wife and husband are fighting over their finances. The husband is unemployed or doesn't make much money, and the wife is burnt out and tired of working overtime to completely support them. The wife decides to make adult videos, and her best friend offers to help her. Her husband finds out and is extremely upset. Woke. Rolled over and fell asleep. #4: I dream that I am riding a bus through a sweeping countryside. It appears that I am somewhere in New Zealand. The landscape is mountainous and verdant. It has just rained, the sky is full of gorgeous, radiant clouds, and it's is very beautiful (note: sweeping landscapes after a storm are actually one of my dreamsigns) It begins to storm violently, and I'm up in the mountains. I am both riding and driving the bus. It's storming like crazy, and the mountain road is winding and dangerous. I'm high up in the mountains now, going over a narrow bridge. The choppy water has risen to the very bottom of the bridge, and it churns dangerously. The bus hydroplanes, loses control, veers off the bridge. The bus is now an old cadillac. The bus now disappears from around me as I enter the water. Frigid water envelopes me as I sink, and places immense pressure on my body; I debate fighting it, or merely letting myself sink. I allow myself to be pulled under and away with the current. I wake up on a bus. I don't wake up on a bus; I am driving a car. I'm going to pick up a friend's dad. My friend is a chubby blond teenager wearing a Hulk Hogan shirt. We pick up his dad at a fast food restaurant that looks like McDonald's. He jokes about us being a software development team. He is actually a developer, himself. He looks really tired, and I ask him if he's been pulling long hours. He says, "Yes, and driving is a challenge. I'm practically cross-eyed." He decides to check his voicemail and starts swearing; apparently, his boss/team lead is asking for a whole bunch of ridiculous stuff that he can't possibly do on such a short deadline. I wake up on a bus. I have stretched out across the seats, and a little girl is commenting to her mother that I'm taking up too much space. I try to pull myself up into a fetal position to free up more seats. My friend and his dad are also on the bus. The landscape is the one as described before; the sweeping New Zealand landscape. I wake up and feel a bit irritated that my prior attempts at WILD have failed. I see light seeping in through my bedroom window and am a bit upset that it appears to be so close to morning. I'm also irritated that I didn't pick up on my most obvious dream sign. I fail to do a Reality Check. In retrospect, my bedroom window was INCORRECT. The curtain wasn't there. I shrug it off, telling myself that it's just another chance to try to WILD again. I settle down in bed (note: I am fairly certain this was a FA and I am actually trying to WILD from my FA, which is kind of hilarious because it actually works) #5 (?) - I begin to see something forming in front of me, very blurry - it is a field of large, smooth pebbles. I decide that it looks somewhat like a beach, or is close enough to make into one. I try to make it solidify, but it fights me. I try to imagine it as part of a landscape, but it remains a flat plane - almost like a pattern. It is supposed to be the ground, I understand, but it takes up my entire field of vision. I can feel it there - the dream is blurry, but it's forming. I don't want to lose it or lose consciousness, so I start actively trying to make it stabilize. I focus on the pebbles; they sharpen a bit, and then go all fuzzy again. I run my hands through the pebbles, then dive to the ground and shove my face into the pebbles. They're still fuzzy and immaterial, although I feel the ghosts of sensations from them. I enthusiastically rub my face back and forth in the pebbles. I feel like they're fading away and get upset, so in a moment of desperation, I lick the pebbles. They don't become any more material; they taste like grit and sawdust. I roll around on the ground like an idiot, grabbing handfuls of the ground and rubbing it into my face. I feel and smell dead leaves. Suddenly, there are dead leaves mixed into the pebbles. I look up. There's more landscape forming! I see fuzzy green. I feel like this is like the edge of a lake or swimming hole. I stumble to my feet and pick leaves out of my hair. The world suddenly solidifies, as my lucids often do - everything goes from a blurry mess to absolute perfect clarity. I am now on the edge of a small lake or swimming hole, on an artificial beach. I'm at a cook out! There are tons of people milling around. The dad from my prior dream is grilling food, and there are a bunch of fat guys in tank tops drinking beer out of a cooler. There is a little girl in a purple swim suit playing with the sand. She has a toy shovel and those little plastic sand castle molds, and she's making a castle. She has white-blonde hair that curls in little ringlets around her ears, and blue eyes. She looks like she's maybe 3 or 4, and she's adorable. There is also a black and white Border Collie lying on a red and white checkered blanket next to a guy in a t-shirt and his kids. The dog is panting, because it's hot outside. The swimming hole has a tall, metal slide where you can slide into the water. The sky above, unlike 99% of my lucids, is vivid blue and brilliantly clear - this is a hot summer day, probably July or even August. I clap my hands together and yell out loud "YES! Finally!" I immediately run up to the dog and pet her. Her fur is thick and somewhat coarse. I scratch between her ears. She's very friendly, and enjoys the attention. As I scratch her behind the ears, I recall my lucid task. "I need to destroy something right away!" I tell the dog. I had decided on Simple Task I, which was to destroy an object by any means. I look around. One of the first things I see is the little girl's sand castle mold, but even thought she's a dream character I feel kind of bad about that. I see a plastic drinking cup with Vash the Stampede on the side of it (I haven't watched anime since the 90s, I don't know where that came from) but decide it's too solid/not interesting. There's an array of picnic stuff - plates, cookware, food, etc. I settle on the one thing that I feel is out of place: an empty carton of half & half. I point at it and try to make it explode. Nothing happens. I get angry and pick it up and throw it, yelling, "This is MY dream!" It still does not explode. I chase after it, scoop it up, and tear it into several pieces. I begin to throw the pieces at the two fat guys who are sitting in plastic lawn chairs and drinking beer. They think this is hilarious. I hear the little girl calling to me from behind me. She is running toward me, waving a huge syringe. One of those big, scary-looking ones they use to inject things into your rump. It's almost as big as she is (and for some reason, empty). I laugh and launch myself into the air, hovering above her. She runs around below me, waving the syringe. I rise higher into the air, using swimming motions, and taunt her. She begins to climb the ladder to the slide, which has now somehow gotten higher and scarier-looking and is turning into a bridge. The dream fades, and I wake up. It is 3 a.m., which means that it couldn't have possibly been light outside last time I woke up.
