    1. A lot of short lucids

      by , 02-02-2015 at 08:46 AM
      Saturday Night:

I became lucid at the end of a nightmare and tried to change what happened by restarting the dream, but I woke up instead.

      Sunday Night:

      DILD #1

I was in a fancy restaurant with Dreamer. We were lying down on a secret upper platform that was covered in a silky, pink blanket and plush pillows.
      Spoiler for Slightly Sexy Scene:
She said to me, "We have the best seat in the house."
I nodded my head in agreement, then she clumsily fell off the side of our platform and onto a table where a nice elderly couple were eating their dinner. I looked down and saw two Dreamers.
I looked back and forth between them with my mouth agape in shock and excitement. I then did a noseplug RC and air went through. I grabbed the hand of the real Dreamer and we took off flying. I woke up, DEILD'd back in.
I was still flying with her except we were outside of an epic sized shopping mall. She remarked to me that my dreams were quite short compared to hers. I sadly agreed that they had been very short lately. We landed and I used my super leg muscles to jump super long distances, all over the top of the cementlike shopping centre structure. I was like a human grasshopper.
Woke up into a false awakening.

      DILD #2

I had been talking with dreamer for a while about, I don't know what.
But eventually I remembered that I needed to do an RC after waking up to make sure it was real. I did a nose plug RC and air went through again. I then took her hand and we went flying again and I moved some stuff around with my mind powers for fun before waking up.

      WILD

I had been trying to WILD for what felt like ages when I finally got into a dream, I did a closed mouth RC to make sure and air went through. I got really excited then woke up immediately.

      DILD #3

I had become lucid while talking to Joffrey, he was telling me that he was a master at dream control and I challenged him to show me something. He refused though and then I woke up pretty quickly.

      DILD #4

I was talking to an old friend from high school when I realized that I was in a dream again. Dreamer was with me. I took her hand and we went flying towards these ancient ruins of an industrial city. Woke up before we got there.

      DILD #5

I was in another dream with Joffrey. He was the same character except we were in another room that was brightly lit with warm light pouring through a few windows. I remember how pretty it was to see the light illuminating the red wood floor. I was watching some show with Joffrey when I decided that I wanted to change the channel. I tried to change it with telekinesis but it wouldn't work, I became frustrated and realized that I was being ridiculous and I should do some cool dream control stuff for fun and to farm points. I looked at these playing cards that were scattered across the floor and made them all fly up into the air. I made the cards fly in a circular pattern above me before making them fly off in all different directions. I then looked at B-Dog, who was lying on a bed, and tried to make time slow down for him. Wasn't working. I then tried to make time speed up. B-Dog began to lick himself and move very quickly. I returned time to the normal speed and I could hear the ticking of a clock slowing down while I was doing it.

I then walked over to Joffrey, turned off the TV from his keyboard by pressing the space bar, and then told him to stab me with a pen because I was invincible!! He did it and I laughed at him. I then told him to give me some of the chocolate and raspberries that he was eating. He refused. I tried to make him with mind control, but it didn't work. I got frustrated and then grabbed the chocolate and raspberries and shoved them in my mouth, YUMMMMm. His drone/slave DC walked in and started talking to him. I could feel the dream starting to end so I made fireballs appear in my hands and I juggled them in the air then threw them at the walls.

Note: Before this night I had tried something different from my usual mantra. Instead of trying to feel as though I was in a dream while repeating words, I instead repeated the phrase, "I am dreaming" about 30 times while trying very hard to remember it. I felt like I was trying to memorize something, I was trying really hard not to forget. I also combined that with Dreamer's awesome daytime method for having super long lucid dreams, but I didn't do it right.

    2. Annoying Lab Member, Some Naughty Giants, and a Troublesome Lawnmower

      by , 01-31-2015 at 02:54 PM
Night 5: A couple NL Dreams & WBTB

      Night 6: DILD
I became lucid after an old lab group member tried to kick me. I caught his foot and lifted him up in the air by his ankles, then his torso turned into a pair of legs. So his body was composed of 4 legs that were whimsically dangling about. I thought that was strange, so I did a RC and realized I was dreaming. I dropped the legs and then excitedly ran to the door to get outside. I started to float upwards and tried to phase through the wall, but it was solid as fuck. I tried 4 times before I woke up.

      Night 7: WILD/DEILD:

~Dreamer~ whispered in my ear when I woke up that I should try to DEILD and I thought that was a great idea! The dream started with me talking to a giant that was about 30-50 feet tall. He said that he wanted to crush me but I was trying to convince him that we could be friends. He didn't want any of my friendship and he summoned a flaming boulder at his feet which he then proceeded to hurl at me. I ran away to try and avoid conflict. He threw several flaming boulders at me, they exploded into piles of ember and lava upon hitting the ground. I deftly dodged them while running away.

I thought about running into a house to hide, but then I realized that I was powerful enough in dreams that I could totally kick this guy's ass. I noticed another giant that was standing outside of the house I was going to run into. I summoned a flaming boulder at his feet, lifted it into the air then made it explode into several smaller boulders. I then made all of the smaller boulders fly in the air and smash into his face simultaneously. I then turned around and saw the other giant still chasing at me. I lifted a flaming boulder that he was about to throw at me up into the air and made all of the fire get sucked out of it, then I made it form a fiery fist. I made the flame fist fly around in the air and then punch the giant square in the face. He recoiled a little bit.

I tried to think about what else I wanted to do in the dream and I remembered that I love to eat stuff in dreams. I summoned a watermelon in the giant's hands which he then threw at me. It smashed on the ground into perfect slices. I got down on my hands and knees and started to eat the yummy red deliciousness with my face hole.

I noticed that the dream was starting to end so I made time slow down until it was completely frozen. I imagined that I was pausing the dream scene so that I could return to it later to mess around with those naughty giants a little bit more.
      Woke up.

      DILD:

I had been trying to WILD for awhile when I realized that I might just be dreaming of trying to WILD. I did a reality check and air went through my closed mouth.
Still not entirely sure that I was really dreaming, I carefully got out of bed. Dreamer was clinging to my body really tightly and so I had trouble moving. She kind of fell out of bed with me, onto the ground. I decided that I would carry her with me while I go on adventures! I heard this strange lawnmower sound outside and tried to stay in the dream but I woke up.

      WILD#2:

After trying to WILD again for a while, I felt my dream hands and legs start to move separately from my waking life hands and legs. I moved them around while focusing on them to bring myself more into the dream. I did an epiglottis block RC just to be sure and then I got out of bed when I no longer felt my waking life body. I then started to bring Dreamer's DC with me on a lucid adventure, when I heard that damn lawnmower sound outside again. Woke up once more

    3. Dreamer's Box

      by , 01-28-2015 at 05:47 AM
I was driving an orange sports car from the passenger seat, while the owner of the car was chasing after me. She was quite a strange looking creature with her frizzy red hair, her leathery tan skin, and her layer of makeup that was plastered across her face like a blue and pink mask. She was my friend. We were off to search for the culprit of a murder we had just witnessed. I tried to make the car swerve in circles so that she could catch up to me, since I couldn't reach the brakes and stop the car. The car lost control and went into a deep pond that was on a golf course. I sunk like a stone and accidentally breathed in the water. I noticed that I could breathe and I realized that it was a dream. The world and my vision started to fade.

I relaxed and told myself that I didn't have to wake up yet. The dream stabilized. I tried to swim up to the surface but I fell back down as though I was on the moon and the gravity was just weird. An electric eel swam by me and shocked my hand, Ow!

I flew out of the water and then landed on the grass. It was night time and the moon was out. I asked out loud, "Where are you Dreamer?"
She manifested in front of me from pink and white light, then immediately started to walk away as though she had somewhere else that she really needed to be. I told her, "Wait, I have something that I want to show you."
She turned around and we locked eyes for a second. Then I made fireworks of all different colors explode across the sky, it was beautiful. Then I focused on making a soundtrack play in the dream to what we were doing. Beautiful music started playing from the heavens. I asked her, "Do you remember?"
She smiled at me and then we decided to lie on the grass together. We stared into each other's eyes for a minute. We were about to kiss when I remembered that I needed to find and open Pandora's box. I asked Dreamer if she had it. She pointed to her belly and said, "I have it right here."
I lifted up her shirt and prepared myself for the gruesome task of reaching into her tummy to find Pandora's box. She stopped me right as I touched her skin, laughed, and pulled the box out of a pocket that was in her shirt. I was QUITE relieved.

The box was very tiny, maybe the size of my thumb. I hesitantly opened it, wincing, half expecting some evil and dark shit to fly out of it. Nothing flew out, the box was already empty. I guess that someone else got to it first. All that was left in it was a mostly eaten apple. I noticed that half of the core had been eaten as well. I thought to myself, how biblical. The box was huge on the inside, despite its tiny appearance on the outside. I noticed there were some white mushrooms and an orange and purple flower in there as well. I got really excited and wanted to write all of this down so I woke up.
I could still hear the music that had been playing after I woke up.
    4. WILD and The Chocolate Cake Man!

      by , 01-27-2015 at 06:07 AM
      Dream #1: WILD

I was laying in bed, focusing on feeling my dream hands as I was falling asleep. I started moving them to focus on the sensation, then I started to move my feet as well. I rolled my body out of bed with telekinesis because I was afraid that if I rolled out with my muscles then I might be using my actual body.

I shuffled over to the door and slowly opened my eyes, while feeling the dream world around me by feeling the texture of the walls and the ground. There was a latina maid that greeted me outside of the room, she gave me a butterscotch candy which I gladly ate, yum! Then I remembered that I wanted to go to D.R. island, so I drew a portal on the ground, touched it with my hand to activate it, then jumped in. I ended up in this beautiful field of the most vivid, green grass that I have ever seen. There was a forest off in the distance. I decided that this wasn't D.R. and so I started to teleport in another way. I pushed my hand against the ground and it made a crater-like indentation which then started to charge up. These white rings flew above me and I felt like I was about to soar through them at ridiculous speed! Right as the teleportation was going to happen, Dreamer moved in bed and I woke up.

      Dream #2: DILD

I was in the middle of an abandoned road with Dreamer, she was laying down on a lounge chair. I remembered that I wanted to summon The Chocolate Cake Man, so I made a fissure erupt in the earth. Then I made The Chocolate Cake Man rise up and out of the crack in the earth. He was standing on a rock. This Chocolate Cake Man DC was a mushroomlike humanoid, very lifelike and beautiful. I was astounded by the details in his skin, the subtle wrinkles and colourations. Just as I was about to talk with him, Dreamer exclaimed, "There's no way that's my Chocolate Cake Man, you better try again, don't even insult me with such a thing!"

I thought for a second and decided that she must be right, so I thought about changing his image to something else, but I thought that might be cheating somehow. I then started to re-summon him but I woke up before I could.
Aw well, I have another chance tomorrow night!
    5. A Short WILD and Grandpa Pete

      by , 01-26-2015 at 01:41 PM
      Lucid

      WILD (after WBTB):

The dream started with me feeling my body in bed and my dream body simultaneously. I focused on moving my dream body hands and feet until I no longer noticed my body in bed. I then moved to the edge of the bed and stood up. The room was dark, I couldn't see. I shuffled over to the door and started touching the walls and the floor. I then gradually started to open my dream eyes and the room was brightly lit. I suddenly noticed this strong itching sensation in my ear and I thought to myself, "noooooooooo".
Then I woke up and itched it. I started to go back into the dream but B-dog and H-dog jumped up on the bed and started licking my arm like it was the most delicious thing that they had ever tasted.

      DILD:

This was an attempted WILD that failed but I became lucid later in the dream.

It was dusk and the landscape was lit up with a warm, orange glow. I was laying down in the back of a jeep with Dreamer and looking out across the countryside. We had been cuddling for awhile when the jeep started to move, someone was driving it. I think it was supposed to be Dreamer's aunt or something in the dream. The car started to move very fast and I felt like we were going to get thrown out the back so I tried to brace myself, but I still worried that the force would be too much and my arm would snap.

I looked around and saw that they were driving after an old man, someone's grandpa. They called him grandpa Pete. He snow white hair and he wore blue jeans with a blue shirt. He was running around the city, trying to run away from something. They kept driving after him while calling out that he should stop running and just get over it. Whoever was driving the jeep started swerving in and out of oncoming traffic.
I became lucid and asked them to stop the car. I ran across this huge interstate with 8 lanes of traffic coming at me at 70+mph. I deftly dodged the cars and jumped past a huge truck that barely missed me, then ran up to grandpa Pete. He picked up a tire iron and told me to stay back while wildly swinging it in front of him. I wasn't worried about it. He threw the tire iron at me and I asked him what was wrong. He told me that he was afraid of dying, he said that he was 88 years old and he was probably going to die soon and that he didn't want to. I told him something about life being a circle and that maybe being close to death just meant that he was going to be young again. He liked the idea of that and then he turned into a sand creature as his body melted into the ground. He laid there with his flat, sand body and a huge, peaceful grin on his face. I then decided to go eat some dream food before I woke up because I was right outside of a gas station. Woke up as I walked inside.

    6. A Scary Spider Bite and PercyLucid's Awesome Dream Control

      by , 01-25-2015 at 11:51 AM
      Non-Lucid Dreams

      NL Dream#1:

I had a False Awakening where I started to look at dreamviews. I saw someone post about how PercyLucid uses the heat from his hands to control his dreams. I heard Dreamer's disembodied voice explain it to me further while I saw Percy acting it out in a dream. She said that his life energy would flow from his hands and he could expand his conscious awareness to embody more of the dream. I saw this golden light come from his hands to occupy space and whatever was within that space, he could manipulate as he desired. Dreamer said that it was a very powerful technique for dream control and that I should try it. I'm totally going to try it.

      NL Dream#2 (fragment):

I was going to some secret club in a back alley with Dreamer. The ground was overgrown with weeds and the club looked like a cement bunker. She had bought only one ticket and I wondered how I was going to get in because I didn't have one. The bouncer guy at the entrance looked like a real creep but Dreamer wanted to be friends with him, she is very nice to everyone. She ran into the club without me and I tried to chase after her but couldn't keep up.

      NL Dream#3 (fragment):

I had a False Awakening where I was writing in the dream journal for the study. I noticed that I had marked the year wrong for all of the dates (I put 2016 instead of 2015). I started to worry a little bit that I was doing something wrong and that I would mess up the study.

NL Dream#4 (should have been lucid ):

I was in a parking garage with a few people that I knew really well in the dream. They were my dream family I guess. My grandpa was Clint Eastwood, my dad was some random actor that starred in action films, and I also had a younger brother that was pretty much just a little kid DC. Grandpa Clint Eastwood was driving around the town, he was supposed to be an ex-cop. There were ambulances and police cars that drove past us, he said not to worry about it. Grandpa Clint Eastwood then began to drive very fast and very fancy-like. I knew that I had nothing to worry about because he was a pro, but my little brother was still worried. He drove us off a ramp that went over a giant river (probably about 300 feet across). The car started spinning as it went through the air and ran through this floating oil that was supposed to clean the car somehow. I remember thinking that such a thing was ridiculous and there was no way it would clean the car. The vehicle landed in the water and I jumped out before it could sink, but when I got in the water the vehicle started to float like a boat and took off towards the land. I swam after it by pushing the water behind me like it was solid.

I swam SUPER fast at mega speed and remarked to myself that there was no way that I could do that in the regular world but I never acknowledged it was a dream. Dreamer was at the shore, she began to take off her clothes to get ready for a swim. I noticed that she had a giant outie belly button and remembered that it was normally an innie. I looked away and back again and it was super long now, like an elephant trunk coming out of her tummy. She could move it around and it had a patch of fur at the bottom that resembled some nice, bushy pubes. A guy from my old lab group appeared and took off her belly button. She took it back and started trying to put it back in this now empty, black hole that was in her tummy. The guy said that he was surprised she could do that and that his belly button stuck to him like glass.

      Lucid Dreams

      Lucid Dream#1:

This happened really early in the night so I only remember part of it. I was lucid and hanging out with Francine Smith from American Dad. I thought that she was boring and I wanted to find Hayley Smith so that I could have dream sex with her (my usual auto-pilot lucid dreaming activity ). I tried to find her and get to her but I woke up before I could.

      Lucid Dream#2:

This was another short one. I was in the backyard with Dreamer and one of her friends. She was doing something on her phone and I didn't want to bother her. I noticed that I had a huge bite on my arm and it looked super swollen. Her friend saw it and he said that it was probably a bite from a water creature. I did a reality check to make sure that it was really happening and air went through my closed mouth hole. I stood up and started to walk around while trying to think of what to do. I was really bothered by the spider bite so I popped it and white goo came out.

The dream started to fade so I stayed calm and tried to rebuild it by imagining details and engaging my senses. The dream came back and I remembered that I wanted to create a portal so that I could teleport to D.R., but I was worried about the stability of the dream. So I recited a mantra about being stable and calm but the dream ended super quickly and I woke up.
    7. Purple Smoke in a Crystal Ball

      by , 01-20-2015 at 09:07 AM
I had a F.A. where I woke up next to Dreamer, I did an epiglottis check to see if I was actually still dreaming and some air got through. I remembered that Dreamer had told me before that if the RC even partially works then it's probably a dream. I made my body roll out of bed with telekinesis just to be sure. I rolled straight through a glass wall, into a factory world. There were giant, white machines everywhere with tubes stretching out in all directions. I flew around while saying excitedly, "I am lucid! I am powerful!" and then I changed it to, "I am lucid, I am calm, I am stable", so that I didn't have to worry about the dream ending. I then thought about what tasks I wanted to do. I remembered the crystal ball task and tried to manifest one in my hands, didn't work. I then saw one laying on the ground so I picked it up and asked what was going to happen in 2015. I saw purple smoke begin to swirl around inside the ball. Unsatisfied, I asked again. Purple smoke began to swirl around again but this time it turned into purple electricity. Arcs of purple light streaked across the interior of the ball. Yellow words began to slowly appear in fancy cursive writing. The words said, "Love over one self" Then a page appeared in the ball afterwards that said, "Wiktionary, By: Hopedoc", followed by the copyright symbol.

I was pretty satisfied with that so I began to fly around and explore some more while I tried to think of another task to do. I remembered the Freddy's at night one but woke up before I could.

    8. Night of a Few Short Lucids

      by , 01-10-2015 at 12:27 PM
Dream 1: The Great White Shark and Dreamer the Judo Master

I was on a deck that sitting on the ocean with Dreamer. She was showing me the Australian ocean and I went swimming in it for a minute. When I got out, a great white shark followed me up onto the deck and started to chomp at my little toes. Dreamer calmly walked over and pushed some pressure points while leaning onto the side of this shark that was wildly biting at the air. She then used a masterful JUDO move to redirect the shark's force and push it back into the ocean. I looked around and saw some young kids playing a game where they threw a bunch of golden coins into the water and then dove in after them. I thought about diving into the water to join in the fun but thought twice, considering the recent great white shark incident was still on my mind a bit.

The dream suddenly changed drastically. The kids swam to the surface and began to swim away with coins in their mouths (they were chocolate I guess). They were fleeing from old 17th century frigates that had appeared on the horizon, sporting the insignia of the knights templar on their sails. The ships quickly came to the shore and I became semi-lucid. Ninjas, ogres, and pirates came flooding out of the ships in waves. I mounted a machine gun turret and started firing away at the waves of advancing enemy hordes. I felt pretty bad about it, but I just reminded myself that it was a dream and that I could pretend it was like a video game. The dream started to get bloodier. This one two-headed ogre got really torn to shreds by my bullets and blood went everywhere.
My line of men started to get overrun by a wave of nodachi samurai. I woke up soon after that.

      Dream 2: Rec Center Battle

I was in a recreation center that was set up like an obstacle course. There was a pool of water below and there were these narrow walkways for maneuvering around while above the water. A battle quickly ensued. I was running on walls and shooting down the other people playing, knocking them out of the competition. I started shooting at one guy that was invincible, a hacker. He laughed at me as I shot at him and the bullets did nothing to him, then he pulled out a giant gun and I dove into the water to hide. I swam around looking for a gun to use that might be able to get around his invincibility hacks, nothing.

After looking for awhile, there were only 3 people left in the competition: me, the hacker, and some random dude. I swam to the surface and started to run on the walls again. The hacker guy started to chase after me, laughing because he knew that I couldn't fight back. I swam into the water and found a grenade launcher that looked like an old nerf gun that I might have used when I was a little kid. I noticed that I could breathe underwater and thought that was strange. I quickly loaded the nerf gun grenade launcher and I noticed that it wasn't working very well. The hacker was running towards me so I shot it at his feet and he got launched into the air and into some machine that crushed his body. Both me and the random guy were happy that the hacker guy lost, but I was pretty sure I was in a dream at this point. I dove into the water and saw all these pills bottles with lucid dreaming pills in them. One was prescribed to OpheliaBlue, the drugs were called Dream Cosmos. There were three others but that was the only one that I remembered

I started to pick up money on the floor of the pool and thought about why I was doing it, considering it was only a dream, but I decided that I was having fun so it didn't even matter if I wouldn't get to keep it when I woke up. I left the rec center, arms full of loot and with a big smile on my face. I woke up.

Dream 3: Forgot it :'( Was lucid though

Did a small WBTB and told Dreamer that I would have a dream with her.

Dream 4: Element Bending in a Forest

I was walking down a path with some random Dream character that had some kind of bending powers that I can't remember. I remember that I had power over water though. I lost the other DC somewhere along the way and Dreamer appeared next to me. I was lucid at this point and it is really the point where I started to remember the most clearly.

We were walking down a forest path together, next to a river. Trees were above us, giving us some shade, and the sun was shining down on the river, illuminating it. There were obstacles that we had to get past and I was letting dreamer use her earth bending skills to do all the work, I was feeling lazy.

We eventually reached a crevasse. I decided that I wanted to practice some dream control powers for fun. I made the river water rise up in giant waves and flood the crevasse so that we could cross it. We were completely submerged in water though. I tried to hold Dreamer up above the water, she was having difficulty swimming. I changed the salinity of the water to be extremely high super saturated so that we would both float with no problem. We floated along in the river until we reached a giant, golden gate. I made the water level rise even higher so that we could just float right over it. On the other side was a colossal hydra which we then proceeded to battle together with our bending powers until I woke up.

      Dream 5: School Stress Dream

I was in one of my old classrooms in high school, but it was a cooking class. My old teacher that taught in that room was there as well. I was making cookies with a couple of other people at the table when I looked to my right and saw someone being awkward and anti-social. I wanted to make them feel like they were part of the group so I started to talk to them and make them feel included. I noticed they were making meat cookies with ground beef that they had brought to the class. I guess they would just be called hamburger patties but they were meat cookies in the dream. I think that I told him that they looked pretty gross and that what he was doing made me feel a bit sick but I wanted to let him know that I didn't judge him for it, but he got kind of awkward and moved away from me. I realized I was dreaming and stopped interacting with the DCs, then looked around for something yummy to eat. I then had the instant reaction of sex that I usually have in low level lucid dreams but I remembered that I wanted to change that and so I stopped it from happening and I was really happy about that. I continued searching for food and I went up to the teacher DC to ask her to show her secret stash of candy to me. I looked around on her shelves and there was nothing but super healthy food there. She said that she was going to lead me to her secret stash of delicious cookies and I began following her when I woke up.
    9. Backlog, 12/24: "Dezz Asks a Question," "Making Kitten T (not) Fly"

      by , 12-25-2014 at 11:09 PM (Threecat's Dreamtime)
6:30 AM: SinisterDezz has a question about LDing. He posts in the forum, and uses a box of black tiles with his question written on it as an accompanying picture. The forum warns him that this picture is creepy, and not to post it, but he does anyway. NyxCC answers his question. Dreamer shows up as well, but can't remember much else.

In this same dream sequence, there is a machine that can cause a person to both LD and AP. I reason in the dream that the machine really does not need to send a soul anywhere to WILD (odd meta moment). During the AP, the soul bounces around in a triangular part of the machine (I drew a cryptic picture in my DJ, posting it would really not help much). Seth Rogan also shows up in this dream as the Green Hornet (a movie I have never seen). I
wake up, feeling close to an LD. I MILD and then return to sleep.

I am in bed. I pretty blonde girl is asking me all sorts of questions about how she looks. As she asks these questions, she is showing more and more skin--pulling up her shirt, putting a foot on the bed so I can see her legs, and finally spreading her legs above me. I suddenly begin to wonder if this is a dream. I close my eyes and nose pinch. Hmm. I lie here breathing, and thinking of goals. Ah yes, wanted to play with kitten T. Now I am in darkness., even after opening my eyes. I sweep the "hair" out of my eyes and the scenery returns. The blonde girl is gone now, and I head downstairs.

I find kitten by the sliding glass doors, watching outside. I scoop her up and try phasing through the wall. I am going through easily but kitten is getting stuck. I duck down, see the opening in the wall, and tunnel out.

Outside, I want kitten to fly so I throw her into the air. She definitely falls on the pavement, and pretty hard (her legs splay out from the impact). I have a twinge of discomfort, as I would not want to hurt my real life cat this way, but reason that this is just a dream, and throw her into the air again. Same result, except this time, after standing up, she turns into a tiny black beetle and flies away. I decide to do some flying myself. I try a couple of times (no success) and
      wake up.

Lucid #261: Have a Badass Day

I’m standing in a store that looks like a cross between a barber shop and a clothing store. There’s a mirror on every wall and as I catch sight of my own reflection, I see that Dreamer is standing just behind me and to the right. She acknowledges me with a casual nod, like it’s totally normal that we’re both here.

Dreamer goes back to shopping and as I think about how she might have gotten here, I realize that
this has to be a dream.

“[Dreamer], I’m having a lucid dream!” I say.

She gives me a skeptical look and says something like, “Right now? You’re sure?” Dreamer looks about ten years older than in waking life, and I notice that her hair is short, very light blonde but shot through with streaks of purple.

At first I think about working to convince her, but decide that no, once things get rolling, she’ll believe it too. I grab her hand and we run toward the store’s exit. There’s no door, just an open air exit that leads out to a street made of interlocking stones.

There’s a high stone wall ahead, and we have to turn left to make it around. There’s a shaft of yellow sunlight covering the road where we need to go, and for a moment I wonder whether it’ll block us. As I think this it shimmers like a glass barrier. We have some quick discussion about this as we approach it, and I say something about this “will be easy to phase through.” There’s a moment of pressure as we cross this threshold and then we’ve phased through.

We emerge on a dusty street that has a Mad Max vibe to it, like we’re in a post-apocalyptic desert. It looks a bit like something out of screenshots I’ve seen from Rage.

There’s an enclosed tunnel of metal and glass that stretches across the dusty road, and I become curious what’s inside. Still gripping Dreamer’s hand, I try to fly up there. There’s a little sticking point, though, and as I narrate my intent, for some reason I get the urge to sing. I start belting out whatever comes to mind, and an electric guitar immediately starts playing along in the background. (Yes, these are the actual lyrics... I "performed" them into my phone upon waking. )

I want you to know that I’m happy to be here,
Let’s fly up in the sky,
      And have a badass day!

I really belt out the last part. I try to keep going, but I’m too busy laughing about the very silly lyrics that I’ve already sung. We manage to fly up just a bit above the tunnel, and as I’m trying to get a view of the rest of the town,
      the dream ends.

Lucid #259: Flurries on the 58th Floor

I’m an operative infiltrating an office building. My enemies have seen me before and know my face, so I have to enter as stealthily as I can. I enter through some side entrance high up on a section of rooftop, and I have a vague memory of arriving by helicopter. There’s a huge “59” written on the wall -- this is the 59th floor.

I run up, but it’s a dead end that leads back out to another roof. Okay, down instead. As I arrive at the 58th floor, I hear a door open nearby and a security guard steps into view. He looks like an easygoing family man, black, mid-40s, naturally cheerful face. But I can’t let myself get found out. “I’m sorry,” I say, and I rush forward, punching him in the face and then kicking him in the chest.

He somehow bounces away down the hall and I lose track of him. I run down the hall after him, and it twists and turns confusingly as I go. This all seems so strange and I remember that I must be
having a lucid dream. In preparation for this dream, I used Dreamer’s goal-chaining technique, and as I become lucid, the excitement of lucidity is followed by the sense of cold, and I remember my intent to summon snow for Dreamer. (She’s never seen snow in waking life!)

I walk through the hall, spending a little time examining my surroundings and narrating out loud that “this is a lucid dream.” Once I feel settled, I tell Dreamer that she’s here in this office building too. She doesn’t appear right away, though, so for now I focus on summoning some snow. I imagine myself smushing up snow in my hand to form a snowball, and as I do that, snow begins gently falling around me as well. The snowball is a little too small and rock-like to be fun, so I discard it.

I walk into an office enclosed by glass walls, and a group of 4 or 5 women follow closely behind me. One of them is Dreamer! She’s pushing a stroller! She looks like herself but older, maybe ten years older than she is now, and she’s wearing a purple head scarf like she came prepared for the cold.

The other women are close friends or relatives, and they’re all here on some kind of important business to do with the baby in the stroller. Amazingly, I don’t look to see who or what is inside the stroller! I say to Dreamer “You’re here!” and do a little ta-daaaa with my hands. “I’m having a lucid dream!”

She laughs like I’m joking and says no, she’s got to focus. This meeting is really important to her. I insist that this is a dream, saying something like: “I was infiltrating this place and then bam! Lucidity! I used your goal-chaining technique, just like the last lucid!”

“Ah,” she says, “like when I had the [???] series!” The other women nod and smile at the apparent memory. “We had some fun with that one!”

“Yeah!” I tell her. “I wanted to show you this!” And the snowfall begins again.

Dreamer looks up and smiles. “Is that snow?” She looks excited and torn between enjoying the snow and following through with the story behind the dream plot. She looks like she's toying with the idea of opening her mouth toward the ceiling and letting snowflakes fall onto her tongue.

I see a handful of people dressed in suits waiting at a desk for the meeting with Dreamer and her posse. I ignore the suits, focusing my energy on the snow, and hoping they’ll fade into the background. There’s a bit more quiet snowfall before
      the dream ends.

A little background: earlier today, Dreamer and I were having a conversation where she explained that since her LD rate has dipped a little in the last couple of months, she feels hesitant and less confident about giving advice to others than she once did. This inspired me to remind her how excellent her techniques are!

A few minutes before falling asleep for an afternoon nap today, I quickly used the goal memory and lucidity induction technique Dreamer employed for amazing lucid dreams like this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, and this. (Seriously, if you haven’t read these dreams of hers, they’re literally some of the best LD work I've ever seen!) Please don’t compare my very modest goals to these.

      Lucid #258: Exemplar

I’m walking past a bus circle at night, and as I’m passing under an awning, I feel this strong desire to have a lucid dream, and lucidity begins immediately.

The doorway is either open air or nearly-transparent glass and now I’m standing in a high-ceilinged entranceway to a fancy house. A pair of staircases frame the room, one on the left and one on the right. A pair of women in their late 20s are standing in the middle of the room talking, each of them wearing these sort of Christmas-y looking sweaters.

“This is a lucid dream!” I announce both to them and to myself. They turn toward me, curious and interested.

I remember using Dreamer’s technique to tie the excitement of lucidity to another feeling: gratitude. (Gratitude because I know that if I’m lucid, it means that the technique worked!) Now I remember what my next step was. I turn behind me, addressing Dreamer. I don’t see her right away, but get this sense that she’s nearby. It doesn’t really matter whether she’s physically present in the dream, so I continue.

I say something along the lines of “[Dreamer], the fact that I’m here proves that you’re awesome.” I start to say something about how I’m here in a lucid dream thanks to her technique, but I’m losing the dream just a bit. I catch sight of a darkened room up ahead lit by a pair of tall, flickering candlesticks before
      the dream ends.

I got out the main point of what I was trying to say, but I’d intended to add something like: “Always remember how good you are at helping people. This lucid dream only exists thanks to your advice!”

Lucid #255: Narcissus at the Symphony

I’m standing in the kitchen with Wife and my two boys E and R. I feel incredibly tired, like I can barely keep my eyes open or even stand. The exhaustion gets the better of me and I collapse, falling flat on my face. “Oh my God! Are you okay?” asks Wife, rushing to my side to help me up. I feel embarrassed that I’ve worried everybody when I’m only tired… surely I could have stopped myself from falling like that!

I stagger over to the sink, noticing that I’m wearing glasses (extremely rare in waking life.) I lean against the sink, noticing odd patterns and spots in my vision. Something’s definitely wrong with me, but I feel like it’ll all be better if I can just fall asleep. It occurs to me to look for the dream and when I hit the nose pinch reality check,
      I become lucid.

I’m shocked that this is all a dream, and I say out loud, “That countertop right there -- that looks exactly like waking life.” I run my hands over it. It’s in a different configuration from waking life, but the texture, the look, it’s all perfect. Amazing. I catch my reflection in the mirror. I look like me, but my movements are just a bit delayed from my dream body’s movements. I wave my arms above my head and watch in amusement.

I remember Jenkees’ dare to play an orchestral soundtrack. I raise my arms in the air, willing one to arise. I hear something! But it’s very faint, sounding like nothing more than an orchestra tuning up before a concert. Yes, that makes sense, cool soundtrack will come from doing cool stuff.

I walk toward my den but now I’m somehow in the hall of a building, walking past a big mirror. Hey look, I’m shirtless! I look just like myself but with just that little added bit of dream buffness. I flex for a little while, shamelessly indulging in vanity. This goes on for much longer than it should and then I continue along the hall out into a balcony where well-dressed DCs go wandering by. Hey, I bet that I’m at a concert hall! I decide that I should attend a symphony concert to complete Jenkees dare.

I find another mirror and think to summon Dreamer. I don’t want to get too fixated on immediate success, so I say, “Hey, [Dreamer], you can join me if you feel like it!” And in the mirror, Dreamer appears next to me! She sports the usual purple hair, but a heavier build than waking life. I look to my right to catch a direct view of her, but instead of Dreamer, I see my friend “Topspin”! He bears not the slightest resemblance to Dreamer in appearance or personality, being a dude of a completely different height, race, face shape, and demeanor from her. I look back and forth from Dreamer to Topspin. Both of them are smiling at me in amusement and I laugh, saying something like, “Okay, follow along with me if you like!” (Nobody does.)

I walk further along the balcony and see a brown-haired woman in her mid-20s pretending to take pictures by forming her hand into a camera shape. She points her “camera” at me and I’m caught by surprise when it flashes and making a picture-taking noise! I laugh at this and say “Nice one!” She springs up and does these amusing, highly exaggerated photographer poses while taking a few more pictures.

I think she’s hilarious and attractive, and I kiss her. Things turn sexual, but as we head this direction I notice that her reactions are almost precise mirrors of my own. The experience is fun but feels artificial somehow, and I decide to let the dream go in another direction. We’re on a crowded street at daytime now. I give the photographer a hug and afterward she turns around and wanders away. I start down the road, but after a little bit,
      the dream ends.

      Lucid #250: Open Your Eyes

There’s a long sequence where I help set up a first date between a male friend and the twin sister of a female friend. Proud of having helped, I wander off to a hallway adjacent to where they’re having their date. There’s an old lady here staring at a set of wall hooks and commenting about how she’s a lucid dreamer and always checks wall hooks “just in case she’s dreaming.”

Interesting idea, I say, and notice that the shape of the hooks keeps changing. I spot a wadded up piece of paper and decide to make it float, just to see. It takes some effort, but float it does, and
now I’m lucid. I walk through a nearby door into a warehouse stacked with boxes, intending to encounter Dreamer here.

As soon as I enter the room, I see Dreamer carrying some huge, heavy-looking cardboard box. She seems to be doing grunt work for some kind of retail job and there’s a disagreeable-looking young woman behind her shouting at her to hurry up her work. Dreamer sees me and gives me an apologetic look as this supervisor hustles her along. I approach the pair of them and tell the supervisor, “She’s all done with her work now, isn’t she?” The supervisor seems to accept this and wanders away.

I grab Dreamer’s hand and we run as I babble to her about how this is all a lucid dream. We leave the way I came in, but now it’s a marble entrance hall. Then we’re out on a crowded street, people walking in either direction down the sidewalk and cars rolling up and down the street. I shout something bold to the dream world about how this is my dream and nobody’s going to cause me any trouble. A lot of the DCs stop and turn to me at this, and one of the cars veers off of the street and comes rolling toward us.

Dreamer and I leap onto the hood of the car, run along the top of it, and jump into the air as we reach the trunk. She hangs on as we take flight, wrapping her arms around my neck and left shoulder. I comment on how silly it was of me to start thinking about dreamworld hostility when everything had been absolutely fine. Fortunately, none of it feels like a big deal, and we say something about how it should sort itself out.

The flight’s a lot of fun but at some point I lose my sight. Dreamer says, “The dream is still here. Open your eyes.” I’m nervous about this, but I try it. For a second they feel like they’re glued shut and I think this has to be my real eyes opening. But a little more effort and they’re open! We’re high above the clouds now, and I do a hard dive back to earth, determined that this time everything will be easy and peaceful. I somehow hit the ground sooner than expected and faceplant in some grass. Dreamer seems to be gone now.

I feel the grass a bit with my hands, and it feels phony, like mini-golf grass. A couple of DCs I know from another dream pass by, greet me, and I follow them into a building, through halls into a glass-walled office on the 2nd story. Somehow it’s night outside. An easy-going guy named Gary (black dude, friendly, on the tall side) joins us and I incorrectly remember that the Task of the Month is to pull a prank on a DC! (Oops, this is one from a previous month! )

As a prank, I decide to pretend that the window is sucking me out into the night. I act scared and start shouting as I phase through, landing on the corner of a nearby section of roof. I complete the prank by humping the corner of the roof. The guys inside start laughing uncontrollably and I float down to an outdoor restaurant patio that’s just below.

I think about whether I’ve got a chance to encounter Dreamer again and think about doing either another task or whatever the heck I feel like. As I think this, a woman seated at one of the patio tables turns to face me, and it’s Dreamer! She’s wearing a dress and has long blond hair, but otherwise looks and seems like herself. I talk a bit about tasks, but again lose my vision.

In response to this, she starts singing a strange Australian song about “marching around” and tells me to try marching around myself. As I’m flailing about, I feel myself kick over a table or two and I hear some people shout in surprise. “See how silly that is?” she says. “Just open your eyes!” I have some trouble at first, but after a little encouragement, my eyes come open just fine and I’m still in the same scene. Dreamer runs up and gives me a big hug before we walk off together, talking again about what we should do next. We never get around to anything before
      the dream ends.

      Lucid #249: Long Shot

I’m hanging out with Dreamer in a sparsely-decorated apartment. She’s wearing a dark jumper with the hood pulled up over her head. We’re joking around and coming up with silly games and dares. Dreamer comes up with a really really crazy one that gets us laughing. Warning: It is pretty gross!

Spoiler for Very gross dare -- not for the squeamish!:

... I become lucid. I feel sleepy and out if it, and I tell Dreamer that I’m really happy to have become lucid so soon after going to sleep, but that I feel really groggy. We both stand up and Dreamer is super tall, easily 7 feet. We talk for a bit, my brain moving slowly during the conversation. Her accent is entirely American during the conversation, which strikes me as one of those strange details that I figure will work itself out.

I finally remember my intent to do the “play a musical instrument that doesn’t exist in waking life” task and ask Dreamer if she has an instrument for me. She says, “Well, I have this violin!” She produces a violin from out of nowhere and somehow plays a few notes with no bow. Now she plucks 3 notes pizzicato.

I tell her that this is cool but that we need to have an instrument that doesn’t exist in waking life. I know that I should be able to flow into the task from here but I feel really slow-witted. I get a little confused what to do next, and Dreamer walks up to me (still enormously tall) and wraps me in a hug. Since I don’t know what to do anyway, I just stay still for a moment and enjoy this. After a bit, I get the sensation of falling asleep, and …

… I emerge in a false awakening in the same room. Dreamer isn’t here, but I have a vision of her sitting on the edge of a table with a model train set on it. In this mental image she’s wearing the same trackies and dark jumper from the previous part of the dream, but now she seems to be her normal height. I wander around the apartment, eventually finding the table, but Dreamer isn’t there. The
dream ends fairly quickly after that.
