    1. The Donnie Darko Dream

      by , 10-24-2011 at 04:36 AM
      10.23.2011
Coming from an earlier dream, I am with a couple very young friends, running through a muddy pond-sized puddle. I avoid some deep spots to make sure I don’t wind up drowning myself, since I can’t swim, and run through shallow waters with the group to join a group of unfamiliar older adults on a lawn on the other side. I suspect they are of some relation to me, but I don’t actually know any of them.

Lead by a tall man among them, they are reciting some long historic quote which I recognize but haven’t memorized. When they’ve finished I walk around a bit and overhear someone asking another how to install Linux on their computer – they ask, “do you have to use a CD?” I can answer their question, but I feel like I need to drive somewhere. After thinking about it a moment, I choose not to interject into his conversation, and hop in a silver mini-SUV and drive off the lawn, down a driveway that has appeared where the pond was earlier.

I stop at the road (also replacing the aforementioned pond), still able to hear the would-be Linuxer’s questions. I think about driving off like I’d planned to, then I throw the car in reverse, hop out, and push the car by its hood backward to the group of people, intent on helping out. (Somehow I’m able to drive the car without operating the steering wheel, but I think nothing of it.)

When I arrive back at the group, I push the car away and find that they’ve all gone silent. One elderly man, an ex-sailor possibly a veteran of military service, stands from his lawn chair and approaches me, and begins reading a script. It reads like a funeral speech, or something you’d hear on Memorial Day. The man’s son was killed/died early in his young life, and the group gathered every year to remember him. However, the man began directing the speech at me, going off the script to tell everyone that I am dishonouring his memory, “standing there looking all cool, wearing the shoes he could have worn.”

His words were painful for both of us, but the sadness and guilt I was feeling was quickly replaced with anger. I became thoroughly pissed and pulled off my sunglasses, disgusted that he was publicly blaming me for his son’s death. He continued to rant, both of us standing there face-to-face with no more than three feet between us, and I could feel the situation about to escalate. He pulled out an oversized handgun, loading it with a single shotgun shell. Someone came up from behind me and tried to talk him down, as did I, but to no avail. I tried to get closer to him with a kind of diagonal sidestep in the hopes of disarming him, while making it difficult for him to aim at me, but I wound up twirling as I moved. Obviously, I start to freak out because I’m moving much more slowly than I’d intended to, and am expecting to feel a bullet break my skin. However, the ex-sailor appears to have turned into a short dark-skinned boy and is having trouble figuring out how to operate the gun. Since I can’t run, I twirl a couple more times, and someone manages to stop him – I don’t see how exactly.

I find myself on the road in the silver mini-SUV, and I’m barreling down the road. I am on the phone with the boy that saved my life, and I excitedly laugh that the scene I’d just witnessed reminded me of the movie Donnie Darko. I ask the boy on the phone if he’s seen Donnie Darko, and explain the comparison: if I hadn’t started down the driveway in the SUV, then returned to try answering the Linux guy’s question, I might not have survived – it made sense in the dream. He agrees with a laugh, and the dream ends.

      Earlier dream fragments:
I am with Chelsea listening to an old woman talking. She is switching between French and English, with a heavy Mexican accent to all her words. I interpret the French words for Chelsea where I recognize them.

I’m on a train which is driving on the freeway, high above a big city, and the door next to me is open to allow me a clear line of sight to the people driving cars next to us. One person is driving what appears to be a blue-coloured variation of the Dalek suit from Doctor Who, and I call it a TARDIS (without realizing my mistake). I’m incredibly entertained by seeing this as a functioning vehicle.

    2. Ultimate Muscle and Doctor Who

      by , 10-09-2011 at 12:30 PM
      Dream 1

First I was in my house, where my bedroom was a Yu Gi Oh arena and I was facing Asajj Ventress. I went down stairs after defeating her and talked to David Tennant as Doctor Who.

I tried to call him back upstairs because I wasn't sure she was dead but he was distracted by some aliens.

      Dream 2

Then I'm having a car race with the guys from Ultimate Muscle. I'm in the lead after taking over Dik Dik. I'm driving through a park last lap I cut through a kind of fountain and then I get stuck, thinking I could've jumped over the gate, I crashed.

Then Dik Dik won after that he turned into a bad guy. Basically because he's the worst wrestler out of me, Kid,Wally and Terry. His ego went on a massive trip.

I opened my fridge door and there was a Kinnikuman manga in which Dik Dik was telling Kid Muscle that he was done being his friend and he was leaving. He might've joind the dMp I don't know.

    3. Yet another Doctor Who Dream 25/09/11

by , 09-28-2011 at 10:19 PM (My Wapped Dreamscape)
I was viewing all this through the eyes of the 7th Doctor.

I remember being on a platform overlooking the window of a building. There was a lady in her sixties beside me asking if I knew about such and such to which I answered with a smile "No", she then asked if I knew other things and to each I smiled and shook my head. Finally she asked me what I was good for to which I smugly spouted a lot of technobabble. The next thin I remember was being in the building I had been overlooking, there were several people on the floor unconcious. I used the sonic screwdriver to check on teir health at which point I wake up.

    4. Multi Doctor Who

by , 08-14-2011 at 08:35 PM (My Wapped Dreamscape)
I put this dream down to the fact that I've been listening to the Doctor Who Big Finish audio plays. It was more like watching an episode as the action was taking place arround me with my taking no active role.
It started with the 7th Doctor having to sort out something, this he managed but there were further complications, at this point the 3rd Doctor cam in to help and I was awaire that he was not being played Jon Pertwee but a lookalike, though I thought it didn't matter as people would only be hearing him. He stated the he'd need more help and from outside I saw Tom Baker walking towards us all with Elizabeth Slayden, as he walked he kept shifting from how he looks now to how he looked when he played the 4th Doctor. At this point I woke up.
    5. The Dream of the Doctor, the War, the Flying Policemen and the Pink Pebbles

      by , 03-07-2011 at 11:54 PM (Folqueraine's Oniric List)
In this dream I was a man, who took part in the Cold War, except the Cold War was more like the Blitz, seeing as I was fighting an air battle over London. The Doctor was in my plane with me and I asked him to change history so as to stop the war. He went back in time, did something, came back and voilà, the storm clouds had disappeared, the birds were singing and my plane was the only one in London's sky.
      Perfect.
Then three flying bobbies came towards us to check what we were doing up there. Flying as in, standing straight in the air and hover.
I realized that policemen don't fly, and in turn it made me realize... [the Unreveal] that the Doctor had fudged something up when he went back in time. He himself confessed to making an error, recognizing that these flying policemen were actually aliens who were supposed to invade and subdue Earth a century from now. Something he'd done in the past to stop the war had made them come earlier.
      Time Lapse.
We're down to earth, in a town that looks a bit like my home town. We walk to the river, sit on a quay. The Doctor explains that those aliens have (/would have) mentally subdued humans. The key to freeing them is finding what the aliens have done to us. We then have to look in the river. We dived and check the wall of the quay. There's a small pipe in which we find two pink granite pebbles. The Doctor rambles about how they mean that the aliens have changed the human anatomy. Yeah, sure.

non dream - lucid - non lucid

I'm in my room, playing with my budgie who is out of his cage.
(This is actually the guest room of my old house, but in the dream I believe it's where I currently live.)
My budgie is sitting on my index finger when I notice there's another budgie in his cage.
Weird... I take a closer look. My budgie takes off and joins the other one in the cage.
I guess he found a friend
? (Felt like a reasonable explanation)

I suddenly realize that I'm late for 'the party' and open the door to leave my room.
It leads directly to some sort of party, in an absolutely huge place.
It looks a bit like a casino, but with all the machines and tables removed.
      There are cocktail bars everywhere.
Everyone is dressed very nicely. Men are wearing a costume or even smokings, and Women are wearing fancy cocktail dresses.
I'm here because my company celebrates the release of a super successful game which I've worked on.

(I don't work yet, still studying)

A lot of people greet me, and I have no idea who they are.
This makes me feel a bit uncomfortable, and I decide that I need a drink.
I approach the center bar and order a brandy, because it's my drink of choice.
(I don't usually drink strong stuff, and I've never had a brandy)
It's strong, but tastes good, I get a warm fuzzy feeling all over my body.
I turn around and look at the crowd. A little too many people for me to feel comfortable.
I feel a bit out of place, but at the same time I know exactly how to act and I'm quite confident.

I notice a women next to me at the bar. She's wearing an all red silky dress. She's hot, really hot!
I take another sip from my drink and say hi.
She recognizes me as the lead game designer for the game "Teraluna".
      Sounds about right?
(I knew Teraluna meant something more, but I couldn't think clearly and ignored it)
No wonder everyone knows who I am.
She starts flirting with me which I enjoy. She's moving really fast, after a minute she's practically throwing herself at me.
I'm pretty horny at that point and decide to leave the party with her for half an hour, nobody is going to notice.

I leave through the same door I entered and I'm back in my room. There are a lot more parrots now, 7 maybe 8.
The girl doesn't seem to find this surprising at all, so I assume the parrots appearing out of nowhere is a normal thing.
I realize I don't know her name, and I feel a bit bad, but once she takes her dress off I have other thoughts on my mind.
      We have sex...

... I get dressed, she says she'll wait a few more minutes before rejoining the party. Makes sense.
I leave my room and I'm in a corridor between my room and the party.
(It wasn't there before but I don't notice)
A man storms through the corridor and stops abruptly next to me, sliding a few more centimeters over the floor.
I recognize him, he's the doctor
(Matt Smith) wearing his usual outfit.

"Parrots everywhere! Hi! I'm the doctor! You're wearing a bow-tie! Bow-ties are awesome!"

I get the urge to ask him "Doctor who?" but I think it's stupid.
But then he looks at me curiously. He's moving around me quickly, looking at me from different angles.

"Aha! Everything makes sense! So it is you!"
      "Me?"
      "Yes!"

      Confusing as always huh?
He takes out his sonic screwdriver, it's clearly broken and makes a pathetic noise.
I'm starting to think at this point. The doctor? does he exist? Well, he's right there isn't he?

"Yes, yes, you're getting there, think think think!"

What? What is it he knows and I don't?
      He points at my head:

      "We're all in there"

I finally get it... mostly. I realize that I'm dreaming, but I'm not 'fully lucid'.
I understand that this is a dream, but I do not understand that the doctor is a fictional character, I believe he's really there, I believe that he's in my mind.
He explains that something went horribly wrong with the Tardis, and they ended up in my dreams somehow.
He opens a door, and sure enough, the Tardis is hidden behind it.
The doctor explains that he broke his sonic screwdriver, and now he can't fix the Tardis and they're trapped.

      I suddenly get an idea.
      "Check this out!"
He looks at me with a confused face.
I reach into the left pocket in my jacket, searching for a sonic screwdriver, and sure enough, there it is.
I take it out and hand it to the doctor.

      "You're a genius!"
He runs into the Tardis and starts fiddling about with the screwdriver.
I enter as well out of curiosity. I find it funny that the only thing I can think of is "it's bigger on the inside".
He says that he's lucky to have ended up in the mind of a lucid dreamer.

      "It's working!"
He says he has to leave immediately because Amy may be in trouble.
My sense of adventure kicks in.

      "Can I tag along?"
"God no! Don't you realize? That would be ONE HELL of a paradox! You'd be leaving your time... from within your mind, without your physical body!"
      "Right."

I step out of the Tardis. As he closes the door behind me he says:

"The mistery of the parrots. It still needs to be solved! Good luck!"
The Tardis vanishes in it's usual fashion.

I decide to go back into my room to check out what's up with the parrots.
The girl from before is gone. I understand that she vanished because I forgot about her.
However the room is full of all kinds of parrots. There are hundreds, in all kinds of colors.
There are some types of parrots I'm sure don't exist in waking life.
Oddly enough, I know what to do. I scan the auras of the parrots, and I immediately sense one that is far stronger than anyone else's.
And not just by a bit, it's stronger a thousandfold at least.

I search for the parrot in question and end up finding it in front of the window.
It's absolutely tiny, maybe half the size of a budgie, with blue feathers.

      "Hello little bird."
He looks at me for a bit, then back at the window. He spreads his wings and the feathers on his body start changing colors.
It's beautiful! He glows in all colors at the same time, I've seen this pattern before!
It's the same one I have on the wings on my arm when I teleport.
I summon my own wings, and feel how the bird starts moving through the fabric of space.
      I follow him...

(Pretty sure I shortly lost consciousness here)

... I'm flying though the skies, following this little blue bird as it travels the world.
My mind is blank. I do not think, I just follow.
After some time the bird lands in a sand desert. There's nothing else there, the place is dead.
I land next to the bird. He looks at me for some time, then he starts walking towards the sun.
With every step that he takes, plants grow out of the sand exactly where he just stood.
Grass and beautiful flowers grow right out of the desert.
I think that "he creates life", I conclude that he must be a phoenix.

I follow him for a bit, by now he has not only created grass and flowers but also small rivers.
So small, yet so powerful, what an interesting and wonderful being...
    7. #133. Chasing Amy

by , 08-29-2010 at 04:03 AM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
      08/15/10

I stand on a narrow walkway, facing off against the creature I've been hunting. It's been hiding among the humans, wearing the face of a beautiful redhead. Right now, she's snarling, defensive, and her fangs are in full view. The Doctor, meanwhile, is hovering over my shoulder, looking like he might intervene.

I'm distracted for just a moment, and the vampire turns her back and jumps off the landing.

I glance back at him. Wordlessly, we agree on a course of action. The Doctor moves away from the edge, goes back into the main building to save the day.

I survey the area, quickly. It's a six-story drop, at least. It dimly registers that I'm dreaming, and before I can change my mind, I'm jumping after her.

The ground rushes up to meet me. I hit the tile floor, narrowly missing a set of wooden pews. I look around, noting that I'm in the sanctuary of a large church.

      End recall.

    8. Fragments that make no sense

by , 07-30-2010 at 10:38 AM (Purple Trees and Zombies: Trippy Dreams of an Artist/Writer)
I think I was angry at myself for moving every time I woke up last night. I have cats and it's second nature to throw them off me (one likes to lay on my head) when I wake. I have to get more disciplined with this. *sigh*

Anyway, for what I can remember, I was dressed in a nightgown more suited for winter than summer, pale pink and up to my neck like a granny nightgown. I was trying to sleep in the bathroom, my bed somehow fitting where the toilet should be and the wall. I do remember combing my hair with one of those simple black combs that hair stylists use - which is impossible to do in reality as my hair is naturally curly. My hair color was odd, bright electric blue streaks with white blond and my normal color. It was raining outside, and the rest is fuzzy but it had something to do with unplugging a lamp? Not sure.

There was a noise downstairs and when I opened my apartment door, the downstairs was actually more than one door leading into the laundry room: it was an entire downstairs, wooden railings and flights of stairs. There was a door to the left of my apartment, one that's not there in RL. I open it and the room is a mess, with a bunch of men messing around with each other (yes, like that) I giggle and close it. Someone is standing on the stairs and asks what they were doing. I make innuendos and the DC nods in understanding.

Then...I woke up, went back to sleep and remember a jungle, I'm climbing trees and am disgusted by all the bugs I keep touching as I'm climbing. I don't want to fall because there is a tribe of nasty natives on the ground. They have a giant crocodile. I do end up getting caught, but as I run, I go into this mall-type place and see the Doctor from a show called Doctor Who (LOL). I'm happy to see him because he can help me. However, the natives end up killing him and I wind up sitting next to my dad on a couch in what used to be my best friend's house. We are watching what I experienced on TV.

      So weird.
    9. Bodyswap, Alton Towers and a SPACESHIP :D

by , 06-18-2010 at 02:26 PM (My Own Personal Inspiration Bank)
      [Dream in blue.]
      [Lucid in red.]
      [Nightmare in pink.]
      [Non-dream in normal.]

      Dream #1: Bodyswap.

I don’t remember much, because it was my first dream of the night and I had a fraught morning, but, what I do remember, is that Jen (who lives 300~ miles away) and I bodyswapped. I’m not sure why, exactly, though, because we bodyswapped into dolls, but continued to be human-like.

      I do, however, remember this:

I’m on MSN with her, with a bodyswap device in my hand, ready to swap back into my body (which she’s sporting) and give her hers back (which I’m sporting). I tell her I’m just setting it up to go and she asks why. I say because we were meant to be sleeping together tonight and I was hoping to have sex with her [but even if she’s down there in my body, and I’m up here in hers... it doesn’t really count.]

She says she’s happy in my body for the night and we should swap back and my parents should come fetch her tomorrow. I say but I really wanted to sleep with her and I say I’m going to do it. So I turn to my dad and I say that I’m going to swap back now and he needs to go fetch me in a minute. He says I can’t do that tonight and to stick with the body I’ve got.

I’m about to start having a go at him
      , when I wake up.

      Dream #2: Alton Towers

I’m at Alton Towers for some really strange reason. I think I’m there with college. And then, because I’m not enjoying myself anymore, I get on the coach to go home, even though it about five hours too early. The coach driver says he’ll go around in circles because he can’t stay at Alton Towers. I say okay.

Next thing I know, Luke’s on the coach with me, on the seat next to me. The ventilation is open overhead and there’s a nice breeze coming in. I ask what he’s doing here and he says he was bored. I say okay. He asks where the coach is going and I tell him it’s going round in circles. He says he wants to go back to Alton Towers and I say I don’t know whether it’ll go back there, but it doesn’t matter, because we live next door to each other [we do] and if the coach takes us home, he’ll get home too.

I get a response much like, “Fair dues.” and we carry on sitting next to each other in comfortable silence. Then I wake up.

      Dream #3: Spaceship.

This was the best dream I’ve had in a while.

I’m on a spaceship, with a pregnant Amy Pond [from Doctor Who] and two other men [who we’ll call Man #1 and Man #2 to avoid utter confusion on my part]. I’m in the ventilation shafts [like Jeffrey’s Tubes from Star Trek], which are shining blue and are a little bit too small.

The floor is gridded, but it doesn’t hurt to be sat on or crawl across and it’s pretty light, so I can see where I am.

I’m on a pillow, so I think I’ve been sleeping here, and Amy is near me. We talk about something, but I’m not sure what, and I notice there’s a book or two nearby, but I don’t take note of the titles. I’ve been there a while, but I’m not sure why. I’m part of the crew, though.

I crawl through the tunnels until I reach the main area, where I find out from Man #1 that the transport pod, used to navigate through the tunnels, has been ejected, leaving us with a gaping hole with no air.

I decide to test this, so I grab a remote, crawl through the tunnels and emerge into an enormous glass area. I can see space through the glass, but I can’t see how high the glass is. I point the remote upwards and press the button, knowing I’m going to die if it goes wrong.

This object illuminates high up; it’s shaped like a bauble
but made of golden lights. I grin and shout to the others that it’s safe to come out.

Question! I have not seen this on any of the threads!-homebase-bauble.jpg

They shout at me, because I was an idiot. I shrug because I don’t care.

Next thing I know, I’m at the top of this pillar thing in the middle of the gigantic room, about 60ft or so in the air. It’s tall and thin, branching out four ways at the top and I’m sat on one of the four, straddling it and pulling plastic covers off the main spike in front of me, revealing information inside. I find out that the captain (deceased) didn’t like books, excluding about five. Because of his fondness for these five books, he allowed them on board. They were listed, and I thought they were boring.

The next plastic cover reveals, in the captain’s voice, that he had taken the bauble pod thing to get away. I don’t know why.

Suddenly, the spoke I’m sat on gives way and I start to fall, but I grab on to the main bit and shout for help. Man #2 reaches out and helps me clamber onto the second spoke. Man #1, far below, is flicking through some manuals and commenting on them. He’s boring me, so I start looking through the plastic things again, while Man #1 talks to me. I don’t remember the conversation.

After I’ve been through the second plastic things, that spoke gives way, but I manage to clutch on to the top of the colemn and stop myself from falling, but my legs are dangling and I start screaming for help, but the two men ignore me.

I reckon they would have caught me eventually, but I’ll never know because I woke up.

All in all, I missed a bunch of dream signs; bodyswapping, Alton Towers, spaceships, Jen, Amy Pond, Doctor Who, Star Trek, claustrophobia... But oh whatever. I'll do better next time. Although that spaceship dream would have been EPIC lucid.
