    1. Two Shorter Runescape Dreams, Penguin Hunting and Farming

      by , 12-30-2012 at 03:21 AM
11-26-2012 -- Hunting penguins in Runescape, but oddly, every one of them seems to be a crate. But for some reason, many of them are peaking out the sides of the crates, instead of out the top, as usual. I start in the one way passage section I frequently dream about (that seems to be half Al Kharid, half Morytania), but I soon find myself chasing one of the pests running free in the area right below ice mountain, where the dwarves have their mines.

Foraging through some high grass, I manage to find two or three penguins here (kind of like the one kind of grass patch I used to level up characters in Adventures of Link), and oddly I manage to get two or three sets of rocks at the same time, which doesn't make sense, since you don't get rocks for hunting penguins.

I don't know how, but I am soon watching an area several screens above me, keeping an eye on what is going on, even though I am nowhere near it. It is like I am watching the Barbarian Outpost from the Fishing Guild ... that kind of distance. I click on a guy with a penguin following him, so my character goes running across several screens of space without my having to do anything. So I just keep running, following this guy until I reach the gate to the Polynesian area that I keep dreaming about, recently.

I open the gate, and go through, but I fear I have lost the penguin. Thankfully, though it made it through the gate earlier, it is still hanging out in the immediate area, so I manage to score another penguin! Dale is looking for the same penguin, and passes me as I head back out into the rest of Runescape, and we meet up a few minutes later, though it is now live action instead of a video game.

Dale and I are wandering around in the lobby of this very tall Polynesian-themed hotel, looking at and playing either a bunch of video games, or perhaps a bunch of slot machines. Kevin just wants to eat, even though we just had lunch an hour or so ago!

      ---

11-27-2012 -- I've been dealing with several different sorts of jobs throughout this dream, including security work, courier stuff and mystery shopping, all kind of mixed together. Hey it all involves some driving around. I soon find myself in the office being told off by somebody who is either Laurie or perhaps Sheila S., and they are yelling me up one side and down the other, blaming me for late deliveries and the like, threatening to fire me if delivery speeds don't pick up.

The problem is, the delays that are making things late are all their fault, and I soon find myself on the edge of just screaming back at them. But I know if I do, I'll be fired on the spot, so I am trying desperately to hold my temper. I fear if I open my mouth, I may quit before they have a chance to fire me!

So finally, I just grab a list of 'deliveries' (which are in fact a bunch of seeds to be planted) and head for the door. John (Courier Express) tries to stop me on the way out, and tells me I'm not doing so bad, the others are just over-reacting, and tells me to just get out there and plant these as quickly as I can. AAUUGGHH!!

I need to get 11 seeds planted, or maybe it is 15, as fast as I can. I am wearing my balloon apron, but instead of balloons, it is stocked with seeds. The first plot I come to is a square, right outside the office, not an allotment patch. I think I plant some kind of tree. Just a few steps away is the ectovial farm patch, and I think I plant watermelons there. (This is a spot that has been in several dreams recently.)

I sort through the other seeds, and I've got seeds for maple and willow trees, flowers, all kinds. I'm walking along the side of a road that seems familiar from other dreams, and it is almost more like Farmville than Runescape. Several of the patches that I am walking by have been pulled up by the city, because it has been so long since the last time I dealt with these. One of the patches, near the entrance of a park, is hard and rocky. It has really dried out, and might need some real work to get it back in shape. Another seems to have been entirely paved over. I'm avoiding cars and motorcycles entering the park as I clear weeds from other patches and start to replant them.

    2. Dream Characters Lucid False Awakening Becomes Mine

      by , 12-25-2012 at 05:40 AM
      11/08/2012
      11:30pm

The first part was like watching a tv show. A teenage girl (from the Disney channel I think) was having a bad dream. I think people and things were disappearing. Soon enough she realizes that she is dreaming. She starts yelling at the top of her lungs "Wake up, wake up, wake up!!!!" The way she shouted reminds me of Dawn's tantrums from the show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

She sits up in bed and realizes that she just had a false awakening. We do a reality check and I become lucid. I feel extremely tired and sit up in bed. Not thinking to anchor my dream I try to change the lighting by waving my hands around. Faint, glowy, swirls appear in my bedroom but nothing more as would be expected.

Still very tired I feel myself start to wake up. I see a blue dot appear on my wall and I think it might be my real life clock. I closed my eyes tight and count..."one one thousand, two one thousand....." The dream stabilizes and and despite my exhaustion I get up and walk toward the door that leads outside my home. I was hoping for the scene to change into a beautiful landscape.

The room is very different now. Instead of a queen size bed in the middle of one wall, I get off of a twin size bed in the corner. I see my girlfriend sleeping on a futon mattress near the door but I keep walking..slowly because I am still so tired.

I finally reach the door but as I reach for the knob a creature runs along the wall across the door and of down the other wall. It scared me at first but I knew that I was dreaming and caught a glimpse of it as it passed. It was only a dream tabby cat running on the wall. After that there were big puppies everywhere around my feet and on the ceiling. They curled up against my legs and I grabbed an adorable pup off the wall. I brought it in to let it lick my face but it was dark and I couldn't see its face... perhaps I was holding it backwards..........Wake up.
    3. Death Prediction, X-men, W.I.T.C.H.

      by , 11-05-2012 at 01:11 PM
      //No LDs//

      #1 - W.I.T.C.H.

I was reading some kind of W.I.T.C.H. magazine. I searched for character that I "might become" (whatever it means...). I found two of them with descriptions. One looked like Hay Lin. Can't remember the other one. It could be Cornelia, though. Anyway, I wasn't sure which one I should choose. I was near 'Cornelia', but my cousin said [with a big smile - he wasn't serious] 'Hay Lin' is perfect to play. Then he showed keywords that described her. It was "happy, melicious, bitchy". So I decided it will be 'Hay Lin'.
Don't remember rest of the dream.

      #2 - Prediction of Death.

I was in some room with man and woman who were around 50. I knew their two sons. And I somehow knew they're going to die. So I told parents it. Mother started crying. Didn't see father's reaction. I knew that one of the sons will be shot in the chest.
Later this one was in some empty building. There were bunch of people who were trying to shoot him. I'm not sure if they weren't halfdead or even fulldead (zombies?). And building was really old. I took guy's hand and started running away with him. I was trying to protect him. I got two shots - one around the chest and another one in the stomach. But I didn't stop running, though I was tired. Felt like I was going to fall. I knew I can't stop, so I kept running, ignoring everything.
      Finally, we left the building.
And then... All I remember is that I couldn't save him.

      #3 - X-men.

I've become one of the X-men. It was very, veryyy exciting. We were already supposed to sleep, but I and Scott wanted to find something. I don't know what was that, but we were very careful about it. We were jumping instead walking, because we thought steps are too loud.
Then someone woke up and started searching... for us? Not sure. But he was really near and there light turned on. I turned it off, but there was still on!
It turned out that 'he' was Wolverine. He wasn't mad, rather amused and let us continue it all.

    4. Tormenting a Disney Employee, Fighting an Invasion with Star Trek, and Superheroes

      by , 10-28-2012 at 06:14 PM
10-28-2012 -- [Darn it! Some dreams with great possibilities from last night, but I can remember almost nothing of them! Guess I have to post them as fragments again, and lump two or three together, rather than do them separately. Meanwhile, I have been having dreams to write down for the last week, but haven't had the time to post them, and won't for a couple more days. Will eventually be able to catch up again.]

Fragment 1 -- I'm kind of in a sort of nature area, and I am kind of being forced to do something, but I have no idea what. I get the feeling it was all sort of Harry Potter related, and also had something to do with cats, which makes me suspect it also had to do with Mcgonagall, but I can't remember almost anything, which is very annoying.

Anyway, I soon find myself in a ride queue at Disney, and one of the people who works on the ride turns out to be the person who was forcing me to do something I didn't want to do in the last bit, and I get my revenge by coming through their line and doing something every week to annoy them. These are long, detailed things, but I can remember almost nothing of them.

I think one time through, I was talking spoilers about the ride, telling everybody what was coming, which had them mad at the staff for not stopping me. In another trip through, I was somehow firing stickers out of a sort of air cannon and onto peoples foreheads, often blocking their eyes and/or glasses and making it much harder for them to see. I took the end of a long strip of stickers on a roll from the souvenir stand, pulled it out into the line of people, and told them they were getting free stickers, which led to them wanting those stickers on their foreheads.

The whole thing was driving the female cast member nuts as she tried to catch me and throw me out, while fighting with all these people. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I came walking in with a leather belt tied around my head, the tail of the belt stuck down my throat, which somehow caused me to projectile vomit non-stop. I vomited on everybody and everything else in line, but when I tried to vomit on the cast member, she tried to duck into a sort of stairwell, and found herself trapped there. I vomited a huge amount down on top of her, and somehow it caused an explosion and vomit suddenly spewed back out of the stairwell, flying everywhere, even hitting me. Yuck. But it drove the cast member nuts.

Somehow this led to me kind of getting together romantically with another cast member, an attractive blonde. There was a ton more detail than I can remember, and instead of being gross the whole thing was actually quite funny, but I just can't remember it well enough to do it justice.

      ---

Fragment 2 (right before waking for the day) First bit I can remember is walking back on forth on Crescent past the nursery, kicking a little sand, worrying about red ants, and a vague memory of somebody stuck up, snotty, demanding, and perhaps alien arguing with me.

I'm pretty sure I kind of tell them off, and start walking toward Buena Park. There's detail here, but nothing I can remember. The tiniest hint of kicking something metal as I walk along. By the time I am ready to turn on Hickory, I glance across at Tom's house, and somehow I can see a reflection from the pool of an attractive blond swimming in a white, semi-transparent suit. [Think Leslie Easterbrook in the swimming pool scene in the Police Academy movies] I think it is Tom's mom, even though I seem to remember her being a brunette.

Somehow I suddenly find myself in a sort of meeting in a room that I kind of feel is at Fullerton College. It still has something to do with aliens, and in fact as we are discussing them, Hawkeye Pierce (from MASH) starts saying what he thinks, and a hanging red light bulb starts to swing toward him, somehow drawn to him. Its hard to explain, except it is some sort of alien tech that is drawn to the aliens almost magnetically, and in what we've been dealing with, we're worried he is somehow becoming alien. So the light that is kind of pulsing hypnotically also keeps swinging toward him when he speaks, but not toward anyone else.

Soon we're all walking across the campus, spreading out and heading in different directions, spreading information or something, then I find myself in another group meeting, though this time more out in the open. Oddly enough, we're now Starfleet personnel, and I am not sure, but I may be Riker. We're trying to figure out what we're going to do in regards to the aliens, and reactions have been spread in two directions, either for or against the aliens. The 'against' group, my group, has won, so we get to decide the response.

There is a lot of argument along the lines that we should take command of them or something, but Picard is here, and reminds us that would be against our oaths to the Federation, so if we went that route we would be forced out of our commissions. I start on an impassioned speech about how we won't go that route, as I, for one, am not willing to give up my position over this. But my voice is very limited, and nobody seems to hear me.

One of the opposition is starting to argue about my position and our decision, and he is overly tall, thin, and bald. I think he is probably from Mr. Homn's race. He is making an objection to what I am saying, until Picard starts walking toward him, poking him in the chest, and saying something about how actors are wonderful people, but since he is just acting, and not being honest about what he thinks, he should shut up.

      ---

A short one from yesterday: Somehow I am Spider-Man, and I find I have to tear my way through a sort of a strong, thick plastic wall surrounding a ball pit in a play area. There is a little kid watching me, and hoping I can fix everything. Problem is, the flexible plastic shield is very strong, and I have to really exert myself to finally manage to tear it, and find myself falling face first into the ball pit.

Soon I find myself staring up through the colorful balls, catching glimpses of my surroundings in the gaps between balls. Somehow I seem to be fighting my way through a corridor to reach a sort of female ogre who I have to fight. As we're fighting, she is slowly kind of turning into Wonder Woman. And I am slowly turning from Spider-Man into Harry Potter.

Wonder Woman has an equally attractive teen age daughter who is kind of rebelling against her (teens, go figure) and since as Harry Potter, I am also a teen, we are kind of close. Somehow it seems Wonder Woman has kind of adopted me, at least unofficially. As things heat up between WW and her daughter, she somehow starts singing something about how it is only because she loves her, and "that's the way it should be." Its nice, but kind of dorky. Then everybody goes to take a nap or something.

Soon it seems that my Godfather, Sirius, decides he wants to check on me. He has somehow broken into the house, and is trying to sneak around silently without being seen. I am watching him silently from around a corner. He doesn't know the layout, and he ends up outside Wonder Woman's bedroom door, and her boyfriend (who may be Batman) comes out the door, and is upset to find him there.

Sirius tries to pull his wand, and the boyfriend kicks it out of his hand, then gives him a big kick and sends him flying. He turns around, and finds himself picked up and tossed to the ground by Wonder Woman before they realize who it is they are fighting, and let him go.

Sirius is on the ground, looking up at Wonder Woman. She is not wearing her hero garb, but street clothes, and seems to be in a gray skirt down nearly to her knees. He grabs on to her to try and pull himself up, not meaning anything by it, but what looks like a gray skirt turns out to be made of dozens of thin strips that part under his hands, leaving him pulling himself up by more or less grasping her (admittedly very attractive) butt, in a pair of semi-small (but not quite thong) pair of panties.

Sirius falls back to the ground in shock, turning crimson from embarrassment, while I just stand there laughing my head off at the whole situation!
    5. No Brakes in a Non-Existent Car

      by , 08-02-2012 at 05:47 AM
07-24-2012 -- I'm in my room in a house where I am renting a room, and it seems like Randy (one of the roommates where I currently live) and I are sharing a room. There is very thick dust everywhere, and it is obvious nothing has been dusted in years. There is a third roommate here, as well, and he has a slim black girlfriend. I'm thinking about asking the others for some help in maybe dusting a little, but figure I am not going to ask until the girl friend leaves. But Randy already has a can of Pledge, and is starting to work.

He's dusting a table, and to help him out, I start picking up the stuff sitting on the table. He asks me where I am going to put it, and I admit, right back where I picked it up from, but in the meantime, he'll be able to dust more of the table. Mom is there, as well, though she doesn't seem to actually do anything.

Soon things shift, and I am driving in the city centre of either Cambridge or London, and am thinking about the recent visit I made to the museum in another dream. Strangely, though I could have sworn I posted that dream, I cannot currently find it. In the car with me are mom, Randy, and the black girl friend. I'm turning a corner, and suddenly the brakes don't work, and I find myself jumping a curb onto a lawn, and hit a couple of wooden posts that help me to stop.

I'm right next to a broken down car, and suddenly a police car pulls up next to both of us. I'm worried the cop is going to give me a ticket, but he seems to be ignoring me. I can't go forward, and I have cars to the left and the right, so all I can do is start to slowly back out, but the brakes are still not working, and I am worried about them. I'm being very slow and careful, but as I approach the curb, I am afraid I'll shoot right back out into the intersection, so I open the door and stick out my foot, using it to brake.

I'm still on the grass, right at the edge of the curb, and now the cop is watching me, so I want to be very sure I keep control of the car. I decide I better carry it to the street. But when I turn around, it suddenly isn't there. So I bend over and pick up a large nothing, and very carefully set it down in the street. I'm still worried about the brakes in my, now non-existent, car, but the black girlfriend tells me to just add some brake fluid and I ought to be fine. I seem to remember an Auto Zone about a half-mile down the road, so I figure I can get some fluid there.

The car still isn't there, so I very carefully climb into nothing and mime taking a seat. None of the passengers have any problem doing the same thing. As we're just sitting there in thin air and about to start driving, a young kid comes up to us and fastens a Pleasure Island wrist band around my wrist. He starts nattering on about saving seats for me and collectibles and stuff. As he runs off, I tell the others he is a great kid, but I don't know why he is saving seats for me at a Disneyland stage show when I am currently closest to Euro Disneyland.

We start driving, and I realize I am on the wrong side of the road, but so are most of the other cars. In my dreams, most people in England seem to be tourists who can't remember which side of the road to drive on. We keep kind of drifting from one side of the road to the other. Meanwhile, this road in England seems to be Euclid Avenue, and the shop I seem to remember is just a couple of doors down from Euclid and Malvern / Chapman in Fullerton. But it is in England.

I'm nearly to the building I am looking for, but it is no longer an Auto Zone, but a photography store being run from an old house. We step inside, and I really need to buy some of the flat round batteries for my camera, but I don't have any money. But I remember that I don't have a car, either, and that hasn't stopped me, so I just reach into my pocket and pull out nothing, which I figure I'll use to pay for the batteries. That was I don't have to borrow money from mom.

All the people who work in the shop are females, and somehow I know they are all werewolves and vampires, though it doesn't seem to be affecting them right now. I've been here before, and the woman who owns the place remembers me, even though it has been 15 or 20 years. Somehow zombies are mentioned, and one of the women snaps out "We aren't dead, yet!" I see Amy Pond walk down a hall, but only half-register it in my mind. The whole thing is very surreal. A few moments later, she wanders back through and starts up the staircase. I turn to Chris Hires next to me, and in tandem we both shout "We've got Amy Pond" kind of like the Weasley Twins shouted out "We got Potter!" at the Hogwarts sorting.
    6. Day 1: Hyperdimensional Tentacled Alien Reality Factory, New Phantasy Star Dungeons, Karaoke Game

      by , 07-24-2012 at 03:40 PM
Supplement Dose: 10 mg Melatonin, 50 mg Zinc, 250 mg Choline, 100 mg Vitamin B6

#1 - Hyperdimensional Tentacled Alien Reality Factory [Non-Lucid]

This dream was fairly long if I remember correctly, but as it was early in the night and has a significant ending I've forgotten much of the beginning. My old friend D and I were back at our middle school, though we were still our same ages as now and didn't seem to think much of it. We got in my car, which was parked right in front of the school (in the parking lot), and we drove probably less than 100 feet, parked in a different spot, and got out and started walking back to my house instead. The park in between the school and my house seemed odd; the layouts of everything were arranged incorrectly and there was a ridiculous amount of very confusing construction going on. It seemed that in every direction there were lines of constantly moving shapes and out-of-place colors and textures (which is kind of hard to describe). The trees in the forest also took a very different path than they actually do. Of course none of this tipped me off to anything, I just turned to D and said something along the lines of "Wait, why are we walking? We could just go back to the car and drive there." We went back and got in and slowly got on the road in line with the other constantly-moving vehicles, though we had to drive on the sidewalk over lots of construction to do it, and we became part of the Escheresque conveyer belt just like everything else. As we approached the area where there was normally a bridge that crosses through the foresty part of the park, instead we were carried (because the road dropped, so we were more like floating now but it was more of a telekinetic pulling sensation) through what I can really only describe as some kind of yellowish-beige hyperdimensional caverns that also appeared to be some sort of fantasy town filled with enormous (like, their heads were bigger than my car) tentacled but vaguely humanoid alien monsters that emitted an aura of being some kind of hyperspatial entities with various astral powers. As we were pulled further into this it became clear that all of this was actually just part of a gigantic plane of perception that existed as a singular object which was simply modifying its own structure but was still just one thing.... And then my recall fades out and soon I woke up. X)

      #2 - New Phantasy Star Dungeons [Non-Lucid]

I was hanging out with N, R, and J, and R and J had been playing Phantasy Star Universe apparently and N was showing me how we could use our PSPs to connect our Phantasy Star Online (which is not even a PSP game) files to their Universe files and together we could all play on brand new maps, including an insanely detailed forest where we fought a boss that I can't remember now, and sort of a Star Ocean-like medieval town that was in a circular shape and caved in to a sewage drain in the middle where we battled some kind huge red robot monster that was designed to have these really curvy claws and body structures.... Also hard to describe, but I thought it looked cool. >w< However, R and J had passed out for most of it, and N was slipping in and out of consciousness, so for the most part it was either him and I or just me playing. Near the end, N commented about how we need to "slow down on the rum" for some reason, but then I woke up.

Dream Fragment - I don't think this dream ever fully formed, it really was a legitimate framgent. What I do remember is that I'm pretty sure Linkzelda was there and we were talking about schizophrenia, and I vaguely recall either putting on or already wearing a two-piece bathing suit that releases dopamine, which sounds insanely awesome. XD

      #3 - Karaoke Game [Non-Lucid]

My cousin K and some friend of hers had left a karaoke game at my house and I played it with her friend since K had already left I suppose, but I didn't really know any of the few songs they had already unlocked so I wasn't doing very well. Later the girl just kind of vanished and I went to turn off the game, originally thinking it was in my GameCube but then realizing that it actually had its own system set up next to it. I looked through the menus a bit more and noticed that it was a Disney game and the characters were all kids and moms. I specifically remember seeing a little boy based on Mickey and a tall, completely black-and-shiny-skinned voluptuous woman based on Minnie. o.o I turned the game off and wandered into the kitchen and started getting really nauseous for some reason. I looked at the clock and noticed that it was almost 11:30 AM, and I thought to myself that it must be because of all the dream aids I took. () I went to grab a cookie to eat to try to make the nausea pass, but then I woke up, thankfully not nauseous for real.

      Spoiler for Reflections:

    7. Flying, Clouds, Dream Control, and Being Mistaken for a Deity

by , 12-22-2011 at 09:51 PM (The Lab Notebook)
Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

[Last night, I had a long, vivid, elaborate lucid dream that felt like it lasted between 10 and 20 minutes. This journal entry only reflects the most significant and memorable moments of that dream, which are all I remember now. There were other stretches of experience connecting the moments below that aren’t written down in detail, because I don’t remember them that well. They mostly consisted of me flying around and observing the scenery.]

I’m at my university, at some sort of outdoor expo, standing in a booth made up of some folding tables and an EZ-UP shade structure. It’s a sunny day. I’m supposed to be there to represent one of the organizations I’m in, and I’m supposed to be wearing that organization’s T-shirt, but I can’t find it. The only T-shirt I can find in our booth is one I got from [a client company that my company has done work for in real life]. The logo on the front of the T-shirt I have is the same shape as the logo of the organization I’m representing (an oval), and the overall T-shirt design is very similar, but the letters in the oval are different, and the T-shirt I actually have says “[the client company's name]” across the back. I change into this T-shirt anyway. I do it while standing behind the open back of some hatchback vehicle, hoping that nobody will see me, because [for some inexplicable reason], I’m not wearing a bra.

When I find myself looking at a very vivid, colorful cityscape from the viewpoint of flying over it, it only takes me a moment to realize that I’m dreaming. I slow myself down, controlling the speed of my flight, just observing the landscape around me.

I’m standing on the ground in that city. I look across the street and see the gates of ‘the Asian Disneyland.’ There are solid-colored, blue and pink, cartoony humanoid figures walking around on the other side of the metal gates.
[They look just like the figures in this cartoon (WARNING: Ads on that page are likely NSFW).] I think, Heck yes, then fly over and enter the “Asian Disneyland.”

When I get inside, I am on the second story of what looks like an indoor mall, looking down onto the floor of the first story. When I see what’s down there, I realize, Of course, that’s what would be in the Asian Disneyland: casino table games. The entire first floor is full of them. I have absolutely no interest in this at all
[true in real life, too], so I turn right around and go back out the entrance to the mall. [I am very, very sorry for the stereotype evident in the content of this dream.]

Once outside again, I go, “Oh, yeah!” when I recall the current Task of the Month: fly up into the sky and find out where all the snow comes from. I start flying up into the sky. There is a puffy cloud there, and I fly toward it, aiming to get on top of it. As I approach it, it turns from white to dark gray. Lightning flashes across it, and it reaches out to threaten me with a pseudopod made of dark-gray cloud. I think, Uh-oh. This dream is going to turn into a nightmare if I don’t take control of it. Just by thinking about it, I make the pseudopod stop threatening me and retreat back into the cloud, the lightning stop, and the cloud turn white again. The threat nullified, I continue flying toward the cloud. It turns dark gray again only a moment later, but I realize that that’s because I know that precipitation only falls from heavy, dark-gray clouds. [When I first read the Task of the Month for this month, my first reaction was, “I’m probably not going to find anything but clouds up there; I’m a little too rational-minded for that.” This dream experience proves that I was right.]

[Sure enough,] When I get on top of the cloud, there is nothing there – just cloud. I sit down cross-legged on top of the cloud and decide to fly around on it, using it as a mode of transportation, just like Goku does in “Dragonball Z.” While flying on the cloud, I find myself flying down a corridor that turns lots of corners at crazy angles, lined with doors on either side. [I don’t know what it was, but] Something about this situation makes me go, “Of course,” and then start singing: “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine,” etc. I continue singing as I fly through the corridor.

As I fly around some more, I think excitedly and proudly about how I’ll get to have my username in orange on DreamViews tomorrow or the next day.
[Although now I don’t think I really deserve it, since I fulfilled the letter of the challenge but not its spirit. I really didn’t find out anything; all I found when I flew into the sky was the source of snow that I already expected to be to be there, namely, a cloud. I am so boring!]

I need to get out of a building very quickly. [It may or may not have been the mall-like building mentioned earlier. I think it was a different one, though.] The building has a glass wall right next to the entrance. I decide to go out through the glass wall. I run toward it. A second before I reach it, I focus my mind on activating my intangibility, an ability I have used in several dreams before. It works perfectly; I run right through the glass wall without breaking it, just like a ghost.

I’m in a circular meeting room with several levels of steps leading down to a central circle of floor. There are no chairs. There are a lot of people standing around in the room. I know that they’re all just DCs. They have gathered here to conduct a sort of tribunal to determine whether or not I am a goddess. Some of them have found out about the superhuman abilities I exhibit when I’m in the dream world, and have concluded that I am one, but others disagree. I think, I’m not a goddess. I’m just a human who knows how to lucid dream. I don’t say anything during the meeting, though.
      [I don’t know why not.]

Wow. I really feel like I took a step forward in my dream control skills last night.
    8. Bizarre Shows at DCA, Getting Lost, and Flying

by , 09-11-2011 at 05:31 PM (The Lab Notebook)
Non-lucid, Possibly lucid?, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm trying to drive to a destination, and I go through an intersection and end up on a winding road that leads down the side of a mountain to a lake. I recheck my directions and realize that I was supposed to turn right at that last intersection. I start retracing my route and going back up the hill.

I'm at an outdoor amphitheater in Disney California Adventure. I'm way in the back of the amphitheater area, on some bleachers, watching a stage show. There is a bizarre structure on the horizon as you're looking at the stage; it looks like a pyramid with the points sticking out in a bunch of different directions, like what you would see if you put a normal pyramid in the center of a spherical structure with mirrors on all the inside surfaces. The show starts out with red fireworks that shoot out from the vicinity of this structure. The first round explodes in the sky above and to the right of the audience, the second arcs down to and explodes on the round, concrete slab of a second amphitheater behind and to the right of the audience, and the third explodes just above the audience's heads. I'm afraid that I'm going to catch on fire, but I don't.

On stage, there's some sort of announcement from a villainous character in the show that we need to prepare to be tortured. He also says that all the women should stay in the main viewing area, while all the men should move to the building at the back of the theater with the indoor concession and souvenir stands. They all do so. Then, large snakes appear throughout the viewing area. One is close enough to me to touch me with the end of its tail, which I know is poisonous
[um, what?]. It's very long and all coiled around on top of itself. I visually pick out its head and tail from among the mass, and try to avoid them as I pick it up and attempt to toss it away from me. This doesn't work. It wraps itself around my waist and legs, binding me in place. I'm scared, but I resign myself to it when I realize that I can't get it off and that it's just a part of the show anyway.

After the show, which felt like it had lasted about 50 minutes, I make my way down to the stage. One of my college girlfriends is getting married here at Disney California Adventure. Several of the other girls from our group are bridesmaids, and they're all wearing long, grayish-white dresses with Disney vacation scenes on them. Two of them are pregnant, including EB. I'm here to attend the wedding, too, but I don't talk to any of them. When the wedding party starts taking pictures, I walk back to the concession and souvenir building at the back of the amphitheater.

My walk there takes me along a gently-curving grass path marked with steppingstones with the shapes of different Disney character heads on them. This path marks the edge of the amphitheater seating area. When I get into the concession and souvenir building, I talk to one of the men who was watching the show. He says the boys had their own torture: during the entire time the show was going on, they were all held in one area and none of them were allowed to pee. I tell him that the free T-shirts can be picked up at the Great American Icee stand, over there.

The dream I've been having fades to black
[it may have been the one above, or a different one, I'm not quite sure]. When it does, I realize exactly what's going on, close my eyes, and think, When I open my eyes, I will be back in another dream. I open them, and I'm back at the same amphitheater, but the scenario is different.

[I'm not 100% sure I was lucid for this next part, though.] This time, there are a whole bunch of patriotic greeting cards in boxes at the back. Everyone there has been making them to send to the families of military members and people who died in the 9/11 attacks. Some people are still making them. I see that one lady in the back row has a plate full of lasagna, and take a bite with a fork. She tells me not to eat the lasagna, that it's for the people being honored.

Another show starts in the amphitheater. As it starts, people in front of me stand up, which forces me to stand up, too. I talk with the family to my left. They ask me about a “magic wand” that can be used to uncover secrets and extra content in the park. I point out one that a Cast Member down on a walkway that we can see from our seats is using. It looks a lot like a big, black metal detector, with a bunch of black tubes on top that form a Mickey head shape in the center. It detects sensors embedded in the ground and plays a sound when it finds them. The family climbs up onto the roof of the pagoda structure covering the back of the stands to get a better view of the stage, which is easy to do. I say, “Hey! That's rude!” but follow them up there anyway.

[Later, I had another dream in which I was definitely lucid, but I don't remember how it started or very many of the details. Here's what I do remember:]

I'm in an indoor environment, just walking around and admiring the scenery. I know none of this is real and acknowledge that fact in my mind, but I deeply appreciate how the scenery and the daylight illuminating it look completely real.

When I get to the top floor of the building I'm in, I attempt to fly through the ceiling, but it doesn't work. I just bump into the ceiling, which is completely solid to me. It's a stucco ceiling.

I'm flying around above a city, observing it from the air. Another female dream character
[no one I know in real life] is flying with me. I take it slow, finding that I have full control over my speed and direction, but not wanting to do any more than relax and take it all in. I increase my altitude, and the other girl follows. We talk while flying. [I don't remember about what.]
    9. Death and Theme Park Rides (Night of June 12-15)

by , 07-09-2011 at 05:59 AM (The Lab Notebook)
[This is a catch-up post. These dreams are from the nights of June 12-13 and 14-15, 2011.]

      Night of June 12-13

There is a murder investigation taking place in a house that looks a lot like my grandparents' house. I am directly involved, and the investigation is highly elaborate and has a detailed plot, with lots of dialog. [Of course, I can't remember any of the specifics now.] Partway through, the dream morphs from live-action into a Tim Burton stop-motion movie featuring the Grim Reaper, who “kills” me. I somehow know I'm not really dead, though. I fall over backwards from the force of the scythe-blow and land in a sling, suspended from a moving, overhead track; it's part of a theme park ride. The ride takes me through “heaven” and ends with me exchanging salutes with Weird Al, who is standing in for Jesus on the ride.

      Night of June 14-15

[Bizarre, Disneyland-related dreams FTW! This time,] I'm with a vivacious traveling companion, and we have time-traveled to the year 2011. [Whether backward or forward, I do not know.] We wonder how we know what year it is, until we come up with the obvious answer: “Because that's the year we set the time machine for?”

The entrance to the new version of Star Tours is in a rotating building with revolving doors.
[This dream was in anticipation of the upcoming weekend; I was planning to go to Disneyland to ride the new Star Tours the following Sunday, June 19th, and I did.] Inside, there is a loading/staging area for the ride with circular staging zones.

“Abilene!” I say to a 1-year-old girl who is in the staging area with me. “You know you can't be on the end
[of the row of seats]!” I take her spot in the staging area, making her and the other little kids move over along the row, toward the outside of the circle.
    10. Fragments for June 23 2011

by , 06-24-2011 at 09:23 PM (Sailing the Noosphere)
      1. I place a mail order for two large grey discs of "questionable literary material." They arrive in my backyard at a bad time, as I'm playing something with my brother and my mom is on the patio talking. I keep my cool and wait until night to bring them in, but both parents are still puttering around. My dad goes outside to get a radio; I perceive him like guard from Metal Gear Solid. I make a mad dash past him with the discs under my arm, then run up the stairs, stash them under my bed and get ready to go back out. My brother then enters, dressed in a little green man alien costume.

      2. I'm playing some sort of Disney/Halo crossover game. Its first level is a straightforward run and gun with an HMG, but the second is sniper mission that my dad and I can't beat. I scan a crowd of faces with my scope, but don't see the character I'm supposed to kill. I shrug and give up, and the sniper nest turns into a hotel room.

      3. I'm biking at a local college, where I see my friend C.W. I invite him to have lunch with me.
    11. MGM Kissing Booth and Fragments for June 12-13 2011

by , 06-14-2011 at 04:02 PM (Sailing the Noosphere)
      1. My family visits MGM studios at Disney World. One of the main attractions seems to be a large kissing booth with "famous people," but all one can see of these people is a pair of lips. There are text descriptions of each person under their lips, from Einstein to Disney himself and more. I explore for a bit, then head to the exit area, where a friendly Disney employee offers Purell hand sanitizer and a station for making PB&J sandwiches. As I exit into a garden, I look up at the sky and see two missiles streaking down towards the ground. I remark to myself how much the missiles look like breasts, then run to the impact site. My dad is nearby, pissed off, because the missiles were aimed at his bicycle as punishment for trying to enter an attraction through a forbidden doorway. He mentions he might not have been on best terms with Disney, as they caught him littering before.

      2. Some sort of four-color version of the webcomic Cyanide and Happiness. The characters are attacked by a shark while on an ocean raft, and they hold it off. The dream ends when the characters start to peel layers off of themselves, revealing different shirts.

      3. Vague account of bounding like a dog through a streetlight night...
    12. Disney world camping trip

      by , 06-05-2011 at 05:35 PM
Most of the beginning of the dream is a blur, but the parts that I do remember completely, we'll start at. this dream was set in kind of a camping area, but to the far north west end of it, was a huge castle that led to Disney world :S. anyways, I'm walking down a road in the far east side of the place, I turn my head and I can see the castle from where I'm at. I somehow got separated from the rest of my family, and 'm trying to get back to our condo house thingy in front of the castle... I don't even know what to call it... anyways. I ask this girl who was jogging past if she knew how to get over there. she said "sure come on" and then she was suddenly on a bike. a few other girls were following her on bikes too. I began to jog and kept up with them pretty good. after a few twists and turns, we stop at a house and I walk in. I walk to the left and theres a small bedroom with a big shelf about... 5 feet out. beside it, theres a toilet. I look in and say "I always wanted a room like this!" then the girl from before that was jogging, comes in and says this is the mohamad house

      STOP!

this is the weird thing, I know a guy named Mohamad.

      COUNTINUE!

anyways, we leave and keep on going, the jogging girl rides slower than before and I get ahead of her, then another girl gets ahead of me. she had brown long hair, and was tall and thin like me. the road the we we're on wen't through a house and made a sharp left turn, then kept going. after a few more turns, my legs start feeling weird, like when you run on a treadmill for a few minutes, then when you get of and walk around, you feel like your going super fast? that kinda feeling. anyways, I start screwing around wih it, and I keep looking at my feet like "dooood, I feeeel hiiiigh!" ha ha. but then I look up, and theres a super sharp turn to the left again and its on a cliff, no house this time. before I can even scream, I go flying off the edge and fall to the trees below.

      STOP! again...

here's is the freaky part. whenever I get too high up somewhere, or a catch myself from falling, or use my reflexes, my feet tingle for about 3 seconds after. and sometimes, when I have a morning dream, and something happens like I fall I'll jump out of my bed, and look around, onl to fall back and calm down.

      countinue

as I'm falling, I think about what they do in the movies, and I curl up to protect my vitals. as I'm falling, I close my eyes, then get that freaky feeling that I mentioned above. but this time, it goes up to my thighs. I can feel the difference in the wind as I pass the tops of trees. I think about whether those girls knew that I was falling, and if I would be able to get back to my house thingy after this and the dream ends just before I hit the ground but as soon as I closed my eyes, everything went black in the dream, and I could still hear the wind pass my ears.

this is a pretty weird dream by my standards.

but this isn't a dream in the middle of the night, I only remember dreams I have in the early mornings. its like I'm consciously awake in them, but my body is still asleep and I don't know I'm dreaming till I wake up. everybody's theory's and opinions are welcome on this one!
    13. Beautiful Dreams (Catchup Post for May 23-25)

by , 05-31-2011 at 06:36 AM (The Lab Notebook)
      Night of May 23-24, 2011

I'm at Disneyland. I'm visiting with some guy who [apparently] designs and develops roller coasters. I watch a video of a roller coaster in action. The video freeze-frames at various moments.

At Disneyland, there is a new building under construction, and it is visible from the hub.
[I think] It's in that space that they can never quite decide what to do with, the space that used to be home to the House of the Future and is currently a character meet-and-greet. The new building fits in well in its location; it's built in the same architectural style as the rest of Main Street. [It made sense in the dream.]

It is dusk, and the sky is clear and incredibly beautiful. I walk slowly down a completely deserted Main Street, carrying in both hands a lit candle in a clear glass cup. I take the time to deeply appreciate the deep beauty, calm, and peace of the scene around me. As I walk, the following thought crosses my mind: No matter who you are or where you go, you'll always find your way back home.

The goal toward which I'm walking toward is a single lightbulb, mounted in a light fixture in the teal-colored, wooden wall that forms the main entrance to the park. This light fixture is right next to one of the doors by which people enter and exit the park. I set my candle down on the steps leading up to the door, then go out through it.

On the other side of the door, there is a wide, concrete-paved entrance plaza. Out here, it's still earlier evening; the sky is on fire with the golden light of a sun that hasn't set yet, but will soon. There's still nothing but a vast expanse of parking lot beyond the perimeter of the entrance plaza. I see F.J.
[a real-life friend] crossing the plaza, approaching me. He's been looking for me, because he's there to pick me up and take me home.

[The dream shifts.] I'm in a fancy restaurant, [possibly] in Downtown Disney or at the Disneyland Hotel. I'm with someone who I know is actually Eames, even though he looks exactly like Leonardo DiCaprio. [:-) Plot bunny?] He picks up a drinking glass from a nearby table and shows it to me, showing me that this restaurant is where one can find the kind of glass that my candle was in. He then tosses that glass onto the floor, breaking it. I'm horribly embarrassed by him.

      ----------------------------------------
      Side notes:
This was a particularly clear, vivid, and beautiful non-lucid. Not only was the scenery beautiful, but so was the sense of happiness, peace, and well-being I experienced while in the dream. I still felt wonderful when I woke up from it.

Night of May 24-25, 2011 [I think; or it might have been any day between the 25th and the 28th. That's what I get for not bothering to write them down immediately.]

I'm in my current bedroom with J. [a real-life student of mine]. I'm hugging her and pouring out love and affection, as if she were my own child, even though I know she's my student. She returns the love and affection, hugging me back.
    14. Exploring Three Dream Abilities

by , 05-10-2011 at 04:22 AM (The Lab Notebook)
Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm traveling to Epcot on a highway. The highway is elevated relative to the park, which is long and narrow, and lush and green. There is a giant, inflated jack-o’-lantern in the center of the park. I’m dismayed to realize that the jack-o’-lantern has become the park’s de facto icon; it was never meant to be.

[Different dream.] I'm at a summer camp somewhere. [The day before I had this dream, I'd suddenly, randomly come to the nostalgic realization that it had been a very long time since I'd been to a camp of any kind. Thanks, brain! :-) ] I arrive at a wooden pickup station (sort of like a bus stop) at 8:15 A.M. [I think], in time to get picked up by a horse-drawn, wheeled wagon. I climb up into it and sit down on one of several benches. The wagon takes me and several other campers to an Old Western town where a reenactment activity will take place.

When I get there, I'm really glad I got up in time to catch the wagon, because the town is pretty cool. There are a bunch of animatronic figures that re-enact the shootout at the OK Corral. They have guns that fire styrofoam bullets, which stick to designated, smooth, flat target areas on the other animatronic figures. I move out of the way and take cover while the shootout is going on, not wanting to get hit by the bullets.

When the shootout is over, a large bunch of balloons comes floating toward me. I understand that it’s to transport me back to the point where I entered the town. I take hold of the ribbons on the balloons and allow them to pick me up and float me over some buildings to another part of the town.

I touch down in front of some town official, possibly the mayor or the sheriff. He asks me, “What do you think of the town?”

“I think I’ll stay,” I answer. When I say this, what I mean by it is that I want to get a souvenir picture taken in period costume. There is a kiosk nearby where you can do this. I’m about to do it, but when I look at the signs on the kiosk, I see that the pictures cost $5.00 each. I don’t want to pay $5.00 for a photo, so I change my mind and turn away.

[Dreamskip.] I’m floating with my bunch of balloons again [I think], heading toward a theme park with a roller coaster. I’m thinking about how theme parks are architectural works of art, and should be appreciated as such.

[I waited too long to start writing this, so I don't really remember what happened between the end of that scene and the beginning of the next one, nor do I remember how or why I became lucid.]

I'm in the entrance corridor of a big, fancy office building with a beautifully decorated interior. In front of me is a long wall with a door in it, and a sign next to the door indicating that these are the offices of a financial company. I know that it's a subsidiary of another company, and that it's in charge of the other company's finances.

I think, Okay. I'm going to try to walk through a wall again. I start walking forward, thinking about that goal. I begin to pass through the wall, and the room on the other side becomes visible. I continue moving forward. Even when I've gone far enough that I should be all the way through, I can still see parts of the ornately-decorated wall; they linger in my vision, semi-transparent and seeming to stick with me, like the strands of a spiderweb stick to you when you walk through it. I think, Just keep going forward. They'll go away, and you'll get through. You can do it. I keep moving forward, and the last strands of the afterimage of the wall finally fall away behind me, leaving me standing in the financial offices. There's no tactile sensation this time, though, unlike in my previous lucid dream when I went through the car door; this time, I don't feel anything at all from the wall. I'm happy and proud that I've finally walked through a wall without leaving a hole in it.

I wander through the financial offices a bit. There are employees of the company there, walking around, going about their everyday work. I think, I'm invisible and inaudible to them. Or, if I am visible, I just look like another employee. Somehow, I just know intuitively that one or the other of these things is true.

Eventually, I end up in front of another long wall, this one made of mirrors.
[I don't remember now how I got from one scene to the next.] When I find myself in front of this wall of mirrors, I think, Now that I've figured out how to walk through walls, I'd like to try out another dream ability. I wonder if I can create a portal. Remembering what I read in somebody’s DJ here on DreamViews, I use my right index finger to trace a circle on the mirror-wall. [I don't know what exactly made me pick this destination, but] In my thoughts, I pick “heaven” as the destination that I want to be on the other side of the portal. When I'm finished drawing the circle, the area inside it doesn't transform into a portal; instead, it swings inward, like a door on a hinge. I go through the doorway.

The doorway is on one of the short sides of a rectangular room. The floor, walls, and ceiling of the room are all the same dark, metallic slate-gray color. At the opposite end of the room is a raised stage, also that same color, and on the stage is a smaller-than-life-size, cartoon lion. He's very definitely alive, though, and I know who he is immediately. I kneel down on the floor where I am and exclaim, “My Lord Aslan!”
      [Hmm. Well. That's reassuring.]

[I don't really remember how I got to the next scene. I remember attempting to create another portal and finding only darkness on the other side of the circular door because I hadn't been thinking of any particular destination, but I don't remember whether that was before or after the above scene. In any case, here's the next scene that I do remember.]

I'm now outside the building I was in before, walking across a grassy field. I happen to glance down at my feet and notice that I'm barefoot, and that I appear to have an unusually large number of toes, sticking out at odd angles and overlapping each other in unnatural ways, just like my fingers sometimes do when I look at them in dreams. I look down again, and this time I see that I have eight toes in a neat row on my left foot. It makes me smile to discover that toes can exhibit the same odd behavior as fingers in dreams.

I'm very pleased with my achievements so far tonight, but no other ideas for new abilities to try out come to mind, and the sky and the grass are so inviting, so I decide to fly. I kick off the ground with my right foot and take off. I find myself being forced backward by some unseen, unidentified force, just as I have many times before when I've started flying. I move my fists into the position I learned from my dream dad in my previous lucid, with my left fist close to my chest and my right one further away from my body, and move them back and forth relative to each other, trying to use that new technique I'd just learned to gain control over my flying. It works. I stop feeling the unseen force, and begin flying forward.

[That’s the last I remember of my dream.]

I woke up and found myself still in sleep paralysis. I didn’t feel any vibrations this time, though; it just felt like my arms and legs were really heavy, and like I couldn’t move them even if I tried. I waited a few seconds before moving my arms from their position up over my head. I didn’t even remember putting them there before falling asleep. A few minutes later, the feeling goes away.

      -----------
      Side notes:

I get to check another goal off my list of lucid-dreaming goals! Yay! I really look forward to continuing to improve my intangibility skills. Now that I've more or less gotten the hang of going through things, my new big goal is to get good at defining, creating, and getting into dream environments of my choice.
    15. Awesome Dream Sign Recognition and Further Attempts to Walk Through Stuff

by , 03-13-2011 at 04:58 PM (The Lab Notebook)
Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm on a dark ride at Disneyland. When I concentrate on the images that are moving vertically in front of me, I can accept and maintain the optical illusion that traditional animation is taking place right there in the space in front of me on the ride.

Later, I'm in a dream version of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion. This version is two-story and walk-through, with a large, rectangular open space in the center of the house where you can see the walkway that runs in front of the entrances to the second-floor rooms. I think,
They've redone this entire place again? It's actually this realization that makes me aware that I'm dreaming. I've dreamed about this attraction many, many times before, and it's different every single time, so if I'm on yet another new version, I must be dreaming. I continue to make my way through the house, being scared [in the good way] by some of the ghosts that jump out at me.

I somehow end up in the landscaped outdoor area around what appears to be a shopping mall. I look at my hands and see that they look normal
[I've been doing this a lot in reality lately], but don't lose lucidity. I'm pleased to find that the dream is stable, my dream self feels real and normal, and that I'm not aware of my real body at all. I then remember my current personal dream goal and decide to start trying to walk through a wall. I see the orange-tan-colored outer wall of some restaurant and think, Maybe it'll be easier to go through if I don't know in advance what's supposed to be on the other side. [I don't even know.] I don't end up going through it, though. [If I attempted to, I don't remember it now.]

While walking around the outdoor area, I touch a metal hand rail and find that it feels real. I also try to walk through a low, rectangular concrete wall intended for seating, but it's just as real and solid to me as it would be in reality. [I think I just haven't fully convinced myself that I can walk through things like a ghost yet.]

I continue walking and find a small, amphitheater-like concrete area where there are big concert speakers set up, playing hip-hop or rap music. Facing the speakers is a picnic table with a bunch of teenagers sitting on it, all of whom are really into the music. One girl, however, is sitting on a bench off to the side by herself, reading a book. On the opposite side of the table from the speakers is a grassy lawn. Fifty or so yards away at the other end of the lawn, a live rock band is playing on another stage. I think it's kind of sad that the poorly-designed setup of the area, with the big speakers so nearby, means that no one is paying the band any attention. [What is it with me and rock concerts in my dreams lately? I don't have any plans to go to one in reality.] I think about talking to one of the teenagers there, but [for some unknown reason] decide not to.

The back of my left thigh started to itch, which made me aware of my real body again, which caused the dream to dissolve. I scratched it, now awake and disappointed at the interruption.
