    1. Worlds Collide

It's been quite some time since my last DJ post.
I'll try to be more active on DV again, and I'll probably post some of the dreams I had during my absence.

Random music for no good reason:

The day before this dream I had surgery on my foot.
Nothing serious, but I still needed a massive bandage and pain meds for the healing process.
This made it rather uncomfortable to sleep, and sure enough, after just ~6 hours of sleep I woke up.

The pain wasn't bad as long as I didn't move... however that's exactly what I wanted to do.
I must have slept in an awkward position because my left leg (where I've gotten surgery on) was very tired.
I didn't want to move though, because I knew it would hurt.
The pain meds were on my desk where I left them, out of reach without getting up.

I just wanted to go back to sleep, but it just didn't seem to work.
The strain on my left leg kept me awake, just barely... I kept drifting in and out of consciousness.
This was coupled with random thoughts that didn't make much sense.

I kept trying though, and after some time, in a brief moment of clarity, I noticed that I was feeling vibrations all over my body.
I knew this feeling all too well, because it happens quite often when I attempt to WILD.
I haven't done that in a while, but for some reason I thought that because of this I could now transition into a dream.
      (I wasn't really thinking clearly)

I try to levitate out of bed as a means to separate my dream body from my physical body.
At this point I can clearly feel the existence of both.
It seems like the stronger the vibrations, the less I feel my physical body.
Attempting to levitate seems safer to do, because I don't run the risk of moving my physical body.

I slowly start to drift upwards.
There is no more gravity and the blanket is gone.
I land on my bed and start rubbing my hands in fear of loosing the dream.
It is only then that I realize that I've just cheated my way into sleeping... sort of... well not really, but I'm asleep, that's all that counts.
I check my foot and it's all normal. No bandages, nothing.

It's rather dark. I was hoping rubbing my hands would fix this, but it didn't.
I flick the light switch in my room, but nothing happens.
Meh, would have been too easy.
Afraid to see myself in bed I leave by jumping out of the window.
(Seeing myself makes me uncomfortable and has woken me up in the past.)

I land softly and walk into the street in the hopes of the dream being lit up by the streetlights.
      But it doesn't help.
I don't want to wake up, I want to stay asleep as long as possible.
This is why I'm afraid to try spinning, or use other techniques to change the scene... if I fail I could wake up.

      I rub my hands again.
      "Oh come-on, work already!"
      It doesn't.

I try to make it rain with my mind, thinking it won't work because the dream is unstable. (dark)
But for some reason it does.
I feel the rain drops on my skin, and as the feeling becomes more intense, the dream finally becomes properly lit.

(Rain has been an amazing tool to keep my dreams stable in the past. The constant feeling of raindrops keeps my senses focused in the dream)

I decide to slowly walk through the street and see if I find something interesting.
I'm too afraid to attempt to teleport somewhere else. If I mess it up and wake up there's no way I'll be able to fall back asleep.

Suddenly, I realize that I have changed location.
I am now in Germany, in front of a friends house.
      How did that happen?

My friend C. comes out of the house.
      "Can't sleep either huh?"

It's weird hearing him speak perfect English. We talk German with each-other in waking life.

"What are you talking about? You're not making any sense, this is a dream."

He looks confused but shrugs it off.

"I have to show you something, follow me."

I follow him into his room where he points at his tv.
There's a newscast... something about another dimension merging with our's.
It's rather confusing. It quickly becomes apparent that it's about the dream plane though.
It is merging with the waking world.

This confuses the hell out of me, I'm fully aware I'm dreaming, but the whole situation is built around being awake.
Then I spot Faye on the couch. She makes me a sign to stay quiet, not to tell that I know about the dream plane.

"Can you believe this? This is so weird! Do you have any idea what this is?"
"Ehhh, haha, yeah... it is weird, isn't it?"

Probably the most unconvincing thing I've said in my entire life.
I wonder why Faye wants me to stay quiet about this...

... I am now at the location where the tv broadcast is occurring.
It's in some sort of park, I don't think I know this place.
There's some sort of spatial disturbance in the air, and I can see spirits from the dream plane trying to cross over.
It's a rather surreal experience. (at this point I actually believe that this is really happening.)
I try to spot Yuya on the other side in the hopes that she can cross over but I can't find her.

My friend is there again, rambling a bunch of nonsense... that we're all going to die among other things.

Spirits are now crossing over and materialize on our side. Some politicians have appeared and are greeting them,
and welcoming them into our world.
Other people are protesting the situation, waving signs with the word "Spirit" crossed out.

      "HEY!"
      "Faye!... What?"
      "Snap out of it!"

The scene freezes, except for Faye and myself.
She grabs my hand and drags me away.

I realize that I drifted out of lucidity.

"I thought you were trying to stay asleep, what the hell are you doing?"
"Err... yeah. I nearly lost it there."
      " "nearly" huh? "

We arrive at some sort of cafe and we stop at a table.
Faye looks like she's about to scold me.

"I know, I know... constant awareness."
      "That's right."
"But it's difficult right now, I have an injury in the other life."
      "Excuses!"
      "Maybe..."

A waiter brings us a coffee and Faye hands it to me.

      "Drink! This will help."

I drink the coffee and it feels like the caffeine rushes directly into my head.
I am now thinking clearly and my vision is perfectly fine even though it's still night.

I walk down the street with Faye and we talk about a few things.
She's trying to keep me asleep.
After some time I realize a minor oddity.

"So... technically I'm talking to myself right now eh?"
"I've told you before, it's quite a bit more complicated than that."
"That's quite an understatement. I know you've tried to explain it before, but I still don't really get it."
"You have a good idea, that's enough."
"But I want to know more."
"You don't understand every detail of the universe either, yet it doesn't prevent you from living in it just fine."
"It doesn't prevent me from trying to understand every last detail of it either."

      She smiles.

The street abruptly ends. There's nothing but darkness behind it.
I turn around. Darkness is catching up with us, there's maybe another 10 meters of street left.

      "End of the line Hyu."
"Aww, I don't want to wake up."
"It's alright, you've been asleep for a long time, it's nearly time to get up anyways."

That makes me feel a lot better.

      "Bye bye, Hyunkell-san"
I reply in a funny way:
      "Goodbye, dreamguide-o-saaan"

She sticks her tongue out in a cute way and laughs.

I wake up. It's been over 7 hours since I went to bed, so I decide to get up.
To my surprise, moving my foot doesn't hurt nearly as a bad as I thought it would.

      Dream.
I am in my school hall, there are lots of tables and I am sat on one, we don’t eat food in the hall so this is odd, we are eating breakfast. I look over to the left, my sister is eating breakfast with some friends. She gets up sniggering, I wonder why.

She picks up a pot full of coffee, and digs a large straw into it, and beings snorting it up through her nose, this disturbs me alot and she starts coughing.
      Fade.

      Dream.
Above me is a large marque, I look around to my left to see a tank, it is made out of Cardboard. My friend karl jumps into it and begins to take aim, I back off and a tank behind me returns fire, the tank behind me is faster than karl and gets a few good hits, I run off into the distance.

There is nowhere decent to hide, there are other friends trying to hide, but I can’t remember who they are, maybe matty wood? There is a fence in front of me with some foliage for cover, I hide behind it hearing the rumble of the engine, eger to find out who won the fight.
Popping my head around the fence I see karl emerge, as it begins to near the fence, I hide, karl is weary of my presence and turns around the fence. I move around the opposite side so he does not see me.
      Fade.

      Dream.
On the highway on top of the tank, I am scared that people will see me, so I jump into the tank, it feels like damp cardboard, and it is massive inside.
I go in and meet Ryan, Karl, Alex.
      Fade.

    3. Coffee Shop

      by , 09-20-2011 at 01:42 AM
I was outside a small coffee shop. I was at one of the outside tables that were put out for the customers. A few of my friends were there at the table with me. I went up to the counter-window to get sugar for my coffee. The lady at the counter said she'd have to go out to the back (or her car?) to get some. At the counter were little pots of colourful items. Probably where the sugar should have been kept.

      Aqua's Dream

I am at a cafe with my mom in the Denver International Airport. Everything is white. The tables, chairs, floors, walls. My aunt and cousin come walking in. "What are you guys doing here?" My mom asked. My aunt said something about how they couldn't wait to see us so they flew here. My mom orders a coffee and the waitress comes and brings it to her. The waitress had pale white skin and was wearing a white dress. The coffee cup was white and guess what color the coffee was? White. My aunt orders a salad that is also completely white. I look around and do the nose plug RC. It fails and the dream ends.

I was so angry when I woke up. xD

    5. Why does my new coffeemaker have so many buttons???

      by , 07-25-2011 at 03:58 AM
      6-27-11
Midday nap. As usual for one, it's weird.

I was talking to my mom and dad about the coffee maker that a friend of mine had given me for a graduation gift, and how it was way more advanced than I could care to use.
This is, in reality, true. I had been given a coffee maker, and, indeed, it had more than and on/off switch, so I knew right away that it had more functions than I needed.
After this dream, I went and did exactly the same thing as in the dream. Weird, huh?
    6. old acquaintence reappears......how about some coffee?!?!!

      by , 07-20-2011 at 11:38 PM
I was walking across the living room towards the front door, as soon as i reached the front porch an acquaintence i havent seen in some 3 or 4 years walks up into my enclosed front porch and i said hey! he said hey! and we went over to the clouch on the front porch and sat down and i opened a small cabinet in the wall above the couch, thats not there in real life..the entire inside walls of my porch were covered floor to ceiling wall to wall small cabinets, anyway, i opened a small cabinet and said to him..do i have a surprise for you! i pulled out a ziplock baggie full of joints and we started smoking, instantly the baggie was empty, allof a sudden my mom walked out onto the porch and layed dwon on the couch and started watchnig TV, the tv was no longer in the living room, it was embedded in the wall where the door to the outside should of been....strange...and my frien and i were sitting in recliners instead of the couch allof a sudden...i decide to go get more coffee, even tho i didnt have a cup to begin with, and i tried to get my friend to follow me so as to not disturb mom, and he said in a really loud obnoxious voice, 'WELL, WHERES MY COFFEE!?!?!?!?! YOU DIDNT OFFER ME ANY COFFEE!!!! WHY DONT YOU GO GET ME SOME F***iNG COFFEE!!!!!!!!" he is normally pretty loud when he talks but never obnoxious....so i got towards the kitchen, and i say over my shoulder "why dont i throw in some ice cream while i'm at it!!!" he didnt say a word, all of a sudden i'm in an ancient officve building, not a computer to be seen, rotarey phones everywhere, and rolodexes etc.....and this acquaintence of mine was sitting in a raised booth that was about 10 feet off the ground in the middle of all the offices and he kept yelling if i had found the coffee yet, and to hurry up cause his ice cream was melting...every time i tried to go elsewhere int he building i would end up infront of his booth and he was yelling louder and louder...i would go thrught a door and appear infront of him......i finally ran into a woman ive seen in my dreams from time to time over the years, and she said to me "i hope you dont tell him we're out of creamer!" THEN I WOKE UP....

    7. Coca-Cola factory

by , 06-29-2011 at 08:12 PM (Brainy Vapours)
I am working in a warehouse. I stock the coke shelves. The shelves are equipt with rolling cylinders on an angle. The boxes that I put into the shelves roll to the other side for customers to take. There must be a store on the other side of the shelves. The stock seems to constantly deplete, so I am busy filling it up as fast as I can. As I am stocking I wonder if we get free coke, and If i will get muscles from lifting boxes.

Finally it's the end of the day, and all the other workers are done and it's closing time. I finish my work a bit late, at 21:15, then leave. I am in an unfamiliar place, just walking the streets trying to figure out where home is. Well, it's not completely unfamiliar. There is a sense that I used to know this area but it must have been a long time ago. I walk for quite awhile in what I hope is the right direction. I run into a co worker and he asks me why I am "Down here" (in this area of town). I guess that means I went the wrong way. He asks if i would like to go for coffee. I agree and feel somewhat chuffed as we wander into a shop, getting in line. His girlfriend is there, they hold hands. I feel awkward, like a third wheel. She's yammering on about something, nervous. I guess I've made her uncomfortable.
    8. Kicked Out of A Family Coffee Shop

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I just received a letter in the mail that I was banned from this coffee shop because of the fact I stole from them. I was shocked that they sent me this letter, because I never remember stealing from them. I wanted to see if I was really banned, so I invited some friends to the coffee shop to get a bite to eat. I somehow teleported there, along with my friends. The friends were Katie and Drew, along with two other people I have never seen before.

As we started to look around, no one really did anything about the fact that I was in there. I decided to buy some food with the $10 I had in my pocket. I remember I bought some cookies and a roast beef sandwich on a sesame seed bun. I went back to the table to set down the food, and I asked Drew and Katie if they wanted anything. I don't remember what they said, but I walked back to the food area to buy more.

As I was buying more sandwiches, the cashier said "Rich bastard!" and started to laugh at the fact I had so much money for sandwiches, I laughed at it too. As I went to sit down and eat, the manager came over and asked from my name. The manager was pretty fat, bearded, and had on a sweater-vest. I told him my name, and he asked me to leave the store. I protested, and Drew started to laugh at the fact I was getting kicked out. I smiled and said, well you're coming, too. The manager said that we all had to leave, and to never come back. Drew stopped laughing and the dream ended.

I don't think I've ever eaten in a dream, I was really hoping I was going to...

She pours cream in her coffee, and I know she's the spy.

The woman sips at the drink as she turns and pushes into the crowd of people in the mall. I pull away from a conversation, follow at a distance. I can make out her long black coat, her long curtain of blonde hair. She breaks into a run, and I'm speeding after her. I'm falling behind, reaching out and (force pull) she's flying back into my arms. Hair falls away from her face - the wrong face. A body double. (I'm letting go of the woman, blending into the crowd.) Good.

She's going to make it fun.

"I'd like a triple Venti half-sweet white mocha, please," says the woman. Her curly brown hair is pulled back into a ponytail, and she digs through her purse for change.

I nod absently, pick up my sharpie and mark the drink, putting it on the bar next to the other three drinks that have already been ordered. My hand scrapes against the white fabric and I pause, glancing at the alarm clock on my nightstand. Two AM. Wait...

"What the fuck are you people doing in my house?" I mutter, shaking off the last fragments of the dream. Still half-asleep, I imagine that the customers are waiting impatiently in my living room. Irritated and disoriented, I curl up and try to go back to sleep.

    12. #168. Exploding Bridges

by , 11-19-2010 at 08:55 AM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
      ★★★☆☆

...because burning them just isn't dramatic enough.

      11/18/10

A sleek metal bridge extends over the choppy sea. I stand near the center, unable to see the shores on either side, obscured as they are by mist. Rain lashes out in sheets and the wind impedes my movement - block, parry, slash - as I slice through an imperial guard with my lightsaber.

Something is speeding towards me, about to impact. I catch the missile with Force Grip, send it spinning into an enemy tank. There's a bridge running parallel to this one, and stormtroopers are setting up missile launchers on the edge. They fire -

A wave of my hand sends them careening back into the shooters.

A spider-like droid, twice my height, uses the distraction to scuttle towards me, using its legs as blades. I dodge, jump over the droid and land a glancing blow to its head. Its head swivels towards me as it prepares for another run.

A purge trooper takes a swipe at me. It misses, barely, and I go on the offensive with a flurry of lightsaber strikes. Seconds later, it collapses to the ground, spent.

I keep a wary eye on the spider droid, but it's smarter to take out the smaller enemies first.

...and I'm skating down a barely frozen river. I'm on skis, I'm on a toboggan, I'm holding on to some sort of ski lift as it takes me up, no, down the river.

And I'm stealing some sort of precious coffee grounds. Or beans. One big pile, holding together only because it doesn't occur to me that they shouldn't.

And I'm running through a house, up stairs and through hallways and secret passages.

This room, says a voice, my voice, Was created by my father as a haven for me. No one else can enter it. And I'm laying down behind the couch so that no one can see me through the window in the door.

And then I'm me, for just a moment. I look at the door and I smirk, knowing that the family that's following me will find me, only because that's what I'm expecting. I don't care. It's a dream, and not a particularly awful one. I just want to rest and not think and play through whatever game my subconscious is dreaming up...

I wake up to the family pounding on the door, yelling. I pick myself up from the ugly, floral brown couch and pad across the room. I open a closet door methodically, pull a gun from the rack.

I'm standing in front of the door, holding a crossbow at the ready, pointing through the window. The banging has stopped, and the father asks me if I'm really going to shoot his son.

Everything's all right. The gun's not even loaded.

      Exploding Bridges. Scare Factor: 2/10

As an interesting aside, I have not played the game that the picture is from. Before today, I have not seen any pictures or previews, so you can imagine my surprise when I come across an actual spider-like droid from Force Unleashed II, which the dream was based on.

      Granted, mine had more legs.

Last night I remember waking up only once, at four in the morning, and i was on and off sleeping until I had to get up at five for work.

And I only remember a fragment of a dream.

I go downstairs to get ready for work and my dad is making me coffee, just like he said he would. I grab a mug out of the cupboard and take the karaf out of the machine. Water immediately begins spewing out of the machine and I try to plug it up with the karaf (yea, i don't see how that would work....) and my dad rushes over to help me as well. I'm all wet.

    14. Post-apocalyptic future grocery store

by , 04-29-2010 at 05:00 AM (Visions in the Dark)
This is the first of two dreams that I had on April 29th, 2010.

It starts off with me in the dream as I appear in real life trying to renovate a section of a strip mall into a grocery store. It's like the future or something because resources are scarce and everyone lives in abject poverty. I want to say it almost like a post-apocalyptic world just with extreme poverty rather than world wide devastation. In this world there are no major services available and trying to open a grocery store is considered ludicris because of the scarcity of resources.

The building I want to work in is old and because of the abstract layout of the building, the floorplan of my grocery store is triangular in shape, with the front doors being at one of the triangle's tips (making it very narrow). I am ordered by the building's landlord to complete my renovations without removing or altering a set of public bathrooms right at the entrance. I am told that no one will want to shop at my grocery store because of the akward narrow entrance in which customers will have to pass public bathroom on the way in.

After renovations are finally complete I then have trouble trying to stock the store with foodstuffs because food is scarce. Yet somehow I am not only able to fill my shelves with food, I even have a refrigerated section where I can stock thinks like milk and butter - which the populace hasn't had available to them since the major catastrophy that led to the world resource shortage. I am also able to install a coffee kiosk to help attract customers and offer a free cup of to any customer making a purchase. There is a small part here about a conflict with an emplyee who keeps leaving stock carts full of foodstuff in the middle of the store without putting them on the shelves.

Despite many criticms of my project the opening of the grocery store is a success and my next problem is keeping foodstuffs in stock for customers since so many people keep coming everyday to buy food. I am quickly becoming rich and I am able to hire other people to do all the work for me while I revel in the success of my business. I now spend my time greeting and socializing with customers rather than working the till or stocking. I am soon wealthy enough to expand the store so that it includes a section selling clothing and housewares and stuff.

I am standing in one of the new aisles inspecting its setup. The shelf is full of pencils and notpads and other stationary. An employee nearby is stocking tall and narrow opalescent coloured vases and fake plants. I go over to inspect his work when he is done and find myself attracted to one of the vases. They are stacked inside one another and when I pull the top one out, its outer lip expands and becomes wider by itself - reminisent of a flower suddenly blooming - like the plastic it is made of automatically collapses when stacked so as to save storage space. I was unaware that such technology existed and I am entralled with stacking and unstacking the vases, content to watch them bloom and collapse in size for hours on end.
