    First Attempt

So December 5th, 2010 after watching inception, again, I have found www.dreamviews.com. Me being interested I obsees and read the site for hours. eventually convincing a friend to start a DJ with me. My girlfriend to me get the hell off and get to bed at about 2 o clock. My goal is to first just get to the moon.

I was confused on what to think as I went to sleep. Some how a chant that I was going tot he moon was stuck in my head, but then I kept forcing my self to have clear thoughts. I eventually fall asleep 2-3 hours later. Needles to say my first attempt was a failure, but i do remember a few chuncks of my dreams clearly. It had to do with boxing gloves and some friends boxing. I know I knocked my brother out who's bigger then me. So I know it was a dream.

Welcome to Dream Views! It's great that you're really motivated and all, but you have to realise that this is something which takes time (for most people). If you get too excited and expect great results right away, you might get very disappointed (unless you're not most people). I suggest you start focusing on your dream recall, and the intention of becoming lucid. Realitycheck alot, and set up a nice and easy starter goal. Like flying.

There are different techniques to try out aswell, I guess you wanted to try out the WILD technique. I would suggest you take a look at the DILD or MILD technique, and perhaps try a WBTB. Good luck!

I have an idea of what those words mean but not completely, mind explaining them.

And I'm not most people, I've always wanted to do this for years. I honestly think that once I become good at it that I will be fine. I just had to give it a try the first night to see if I am one of those few that it comes easy for. Though I'm still very lost to it all. I am willing to commit the time to it, but it's a little hard when I have no idea where to start. I have amazing vizualization skills and I daydream all of the things I wish I could do. And I feel that this will help me with my ultimate goal, to right a book or movie or show.

I appreciate the hints though, but I'm the kind of person that learns best from others showing me, then it's easy, it's just that the hardest part is acctually becoming lucid.

Ah okay Yeah you should definitely try WILD out to see if you can do it. If you have great visualization skills then I recommend you try out meditating. It will make you more aware of your body, and make you used to changes in your body which you might feel as you're entering sleep paralysis.
There are alot of tutorials you can read here: DV Tutorials - Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource

A short list about all the techniques I said in my previous post:
MILD: Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dream, basicly you set your mind on lucid dreaming, and you have a mantra which you repeat just before bed, works great with meditation. "I am dreaming" or "I will lucid dream". Try to repeat until you fall asleep, or a long time.

DILD: Dream Induced Lucid Dream, is when you become lucid in the dream, just like that. This is basicly like MILD just without the work before bed. This is the most common type of Lucid Dream. Doing realitychecks during the day will make you likely to have a DILD.

WBTB: Wake Back To Bed, when you wake up after a few hours of sleep (often 4½ or 6 hours is common) and you stay awake for a period of time. While awake you think as much about lucid dreaming as possible. Imagine becoming lucid, KNOW you will have one when you go back to bed 30-40 minutes later. This works great for me, and is very effective with MILD.

I hope that helps, and if you have any more questions at all, please feel free to PM me, or any of the other Dream Guides.

      Keep on dreaming!

Welcome! I also recommend starting with a small, simple goal, such as learning to stabilize a lucid dream once you know you're in one, or learning to fly.
