    Work on Recall! I Mean It!

    Long fun adventure. I guess. Woke up part way through and thought I should grab the voice recorder, but decided "no, this stuff is so vivid, I will remember it." Damn it. This is all I got to keep. Playing in the canal on Rose Hill with DC mom and John. The bottom is all soft and spongy. DC of Dom dog is getting tired and swims to me. She needs help staying above water. Blurry stuff. We are at the mall. Ex from 15 years ago is coming up to us. She has a black eye. God I don't want her in my dream. She probably hit herself in the face and is going to make people think I did it. What is the theme I am sensing. We had a kid. No suppress that. Not going to have that stupid theme in my dream. Blurry stuff. Lots of adventure. Well hell! While I love a good long lucid adventure, if I do not build my recall back up it seems like a night out drinking where you half black out. Fun at the time, but you do not get to keep the memories.

      I never rely on "it's vivid enough to remember later", it works sometimes... but not always. Like you say, fun at the time but not getting to keep the memories sucks, especially if there was something really cool or very interesting in a dream.

      Today I had some fairly vivid dreams that I was wanting to write down, I lost all recall because as I woke up I spilled a drink I'd left on my bedside table before sleep; there's a plug just there so I got on alert pretty quickly, waking myself and my partner quite fully and abruptly too, completely forgetting all my recall in the process.

      On the other hand, I did get to remember to question reality while this was happening and while cleaning it all up!
