    Don't sublet to the insane

Had this dream August 8, 2012. Woke up very overheated. I only remember the last dream portion.

For some reason, M and I needed to sublet our house because we were going to be moving. We were having an 'open house' of sorts. There was a family of 6 that came by to take a look. M was showing them around while I was making sure things were looking nice. I heard voices getting louder, so I wandered in to the back porch area and I heard the mother (an older, plump woman) saying she didn't appreciate my husband's tone. I walked in and tried to smooth things out, introducing myself. The older woman smiled and made a comment about how that's how people are supposed to be treated and then started asking me questions. She asked if the rent was $X per person, or total. I said that was total. She asked how many people had to live there for that rate. I said as long as the total rent was paid, it didn't matter. She turned to one of her family members and said "SEE!" Then, one of the sons (maybe in his 30's) walked up to me and held his hand out. I went to shake it, but he grabbed my hand and started mentioning how we'd AGREED to a reduced rent for his family. I tried to pull my hand away and said "No I never spoke with you about reduced rent" and he said "Its a hand shake! ITS A DEAL!" and his family started getting excited. I repeated that the rent was not reduced and that they misunderstood.

Then, one of the older brothers (late 30's, skinny, wearing a faded rock band shirt) said "Oh well then can we sell off the trailers to make up the difference?"

He was referring to some trailers we had on the property.

"No, those are our trailers. They'll be coming with us when we move."

The older brother scowled and said, "Not if I sell them. If I sell them, I get the money."

About that time, the landlord and M came back my way. The family was getting rowdy and I could tell this wasn't going to be a real deal, so I said I think it was time for them to leave. The landlord rushed in and shook her head.

"No no no! Why would we send these people away?"

I looked at the landlord and repeated "No, I REALLY think that its time for them to go."

We were walking them toward the exit, but then we were for some reason walking along a motel like setting. We were climbing down some steps and the older brother suddenly sawed away the steps. The landlord plummeted about 5 stories. M was next and he turned to look at me as the stairway fell from beneath him and I reached out to grab him, but he just looked in to my eyes and fell. I leapt back on to the landing and was trying to find a way down when I noticed one of the other family members (a younger boy, I assumed a younger cousin or nephew) was looking at me and grinning. I could tell he was going to push me. There was a ladder setup beside me (for painting the walls) so I grabbed it and put it between myself and the younger man. He started walking toward me, big strides, and I began to panic, looking for a way down without dropping 5 stories. As he got closer, I started to scream for help. He just kept walking and the metal hit his chest. He started pushing against me. I started to push the ladder and thrash and got one of the metal pieces to slip and it stabbed in to his eye. He just kept smiling and walking toward me as the metal beam sunk deeper in to his head.

I woke up. My brain felt like it was swollen and it was very hot.
