      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This dream took place on a vacation in Thailand with my friends and I remember two days of it.
      Day 1:
At first we just walked around in a city and looked around in different stores. In some places we just went in and tasted some food, laughed and went out.
When we came home my friend ate 1,5 blotter of LSD and fell in love with a kiwi and slept with it.

      Day 2:
When we woke up the next day my friend with the kiwi ate 2,5 blotters of LSD. Then he asked me nicely to hit his kiwi with a baseballbat. I did it and I got a good hit and it flew long long away.
PS. It was the fruit called kiwi, not the bird .

      The end.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This night I had several different dreams.

      Part 1:
I just remember jumping down from a high cliff and I landed in different ways all the time. All the jumps were written down for an unknown reason.

      Part 2:
I was driving a car into a garage. It was not my car, I had borrowed it from a friend. The garage was very big, more like a big barn and it had maybe three floors. I drove the car into the garage and then i got out of the car and looked around in the barn.
When I was going to leave and go home my friends mother came in. She wondered what I was doing there and I just said that I was borrowing the car. She looked very skeptic and she looked a little bit annoyed. Then I said "it is ok, your son told me that i could borrow it". Then she just said "oh, okay! Well, see you" and she looked kind of satisfied.

      Part 3:
I was going home from school with an old female classmate. I was maybe 50 meters in front of her with my bicycle and she was driving a moped. She yelled "Wait!" and I stopped. I took off almost all of my clothes and put them on the rack of my bicycle. When she had came along I started riding my bike and some of my clothes fell of. I picked up some of them and she picked up some. After that we said goodbye and got home.
When I got home nothing looked like it normally does. Everything was renovated. There was only a hot-tub in the bathroom and all the rooms hade switched places and looked very unfamiliar. My mother stood in the kitchen not bothered at all.
I looked on my cell-phone and I had five new textmessages. One of them was from an older male friend and it said "I'm looking for a job again ". I just laughed. Another one was from my classmate (the on i got home from school with). She wrote "I forgot to give you some of your clothes, I can meet you up and give them to you." and i just answered "Okay".
I went out to the hall and got dressed and I saw a black jacket lying on the ground. I picked it up and there was a hand reaching out of it. When I put it down the hand got back into the jacket.
I think the dream stopped here because i do not remember anything else.

      Part 4:
I was at a party in a big hotel. I was also the host. The party started out good and people were having a good time. Slowly the party became more boring. A friend of mine (who currently is a little bit upset with me) sat in a sofa and refused to answer everything I said to him.
After a while I started calling more people so that the party would get alive again. When I got off the phone, many of the old guests where in a cinema theater in the hotel playing some stupid game, just throwing stuff at eachother and running around laughing.

      I am out!

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      Part 1:
I just remember getting back a test from my teacher.

      Part 2:
I was some kind of flying dinosaur, like a Pterosaur or something. Then there were a couple of other dinosaurs. We were chased by a large T. Rex made of rocks in a rocky arena that later changed form to look more lika a library.
The T. Rex stood no chance of catching any of us so later he transformed to a girl and tried to seduce some of us with that schoolgirl-look. He did not have any success with that either and he just got mad and all of us other dinosaurs were laughing at him.
After that the dream just ended.

      Peace!

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I dreamt that I had been on a picnic with some of my old classmates and I was the one who was going to drive us home. I had borrowed a car from a friend (This friend does not have this kind of car in reality). The car was big and looked similar to a Hyundai Veracruz.
Even though i was the one who was going to drive the car started automatically when i was sitting down in the passenger seat looking for something. I told my friend in the back (who is very short) to try and hit the brakes. In some mystical way she bended her leg so that she could reach the pedal but the brakes didnt work! After that I tried the handbrakes and this would not work either.
In the next moment i was in the drivers seat steering the car so that we would not hit some cars or something on the way downhill.
I steered the car out on the sidewalk and i remember thinking "And now the cops will come, I know it!". And there they were. Two copcars coming right at me. They pulled me over and i stopped the car simply by putting my foot out on the ground.
The cops were very mad at me for driving on the sidewalk. I was trying to tell them that the brakes did not work but they kept ignoring me and they just kept on shouting. After a couple of minutes i had the oppurtunity to explain myself and i told them that the only reason that I drove on the sidewalk was because my brakes were broken and I did not want to hit any cars.
When I had explained everything the policeman (who had a big moustache) looked exhausted and just laid down on the hood of his car.
      The end.

My old class was out in the forest. We were going to do a couple of runningcompetitions. I remember that it was pretty cold and the lanes was really slippery, because of the ice. Me and a friend was in friendly wrestle at the end.

Wow I had a dream about the World Cup instead of watching it.
It was hilarious though, I tuned in at around the 60 minute mark and Australia was winning 2-0. I was pretty happy. And then Cahill got up there and scored another. And then almost scored another. But we won, lol.
Whatever hours later, I wake up and we've lost 4-0 to Germany xD

I also dreamed that I'd dreamed that my brother did something funny. Oh yes, something to do with categorising, he did quite terribly. There were two words with two parts. But he did not split the words correctly.
Well I told him about this as he'd gotten back from Outward Bound, surprisingly, as it finishes next Friday
We were at some shop getting something and there was a concert on and then Lisa Mitchell came on and played her songs (it is very surprising how clearly music plays in dreams). My brother went and looked and he said he'd never seen her before and I told him who it was and how some people don't really like her voice but I think it's nice. And we said how she looked a lot like x (don't remember who), but then we decided that she looked more like a girl from The Veronicas.

I was with mum and we went to some wedding. Maybe it was in Philippines. I was taking a couuple of photos from the back, and asked her if I could go and grab my camera from ther other place (can't remember where) and get right in/up there to take photos. She thought that this was a ridiculous idea, like why the hell would anyone do that? And the camera isn't even built for that (or something). I told her that is what I did at AK's wedding shoot. The idea was turned down a second time.
Funnily enough, it was just a compact digital camera. Also, I peeled some sticker off it and it said it ran on Windows 7 (or Vista!?) 64-bit. And either it also said on the camera, or someone was there that said it, that it couldn't be trusted because of it xD

TW was there chatting to me over msn and telling me about programming and stuff. There was a guy that e-mailed me asking for something, I cannot remember what, but TW looked him up and said "Well his background is in computing, so -somethingIcan'tremember-". It was as opposed to biology though, as if he'd learnt computing before biology.

There was some nursery rhyme thing for children in English about counting and there was a Swedish version too so I went and did that and I didn't even get all the numbers right

    9. 06/12/10 Fly Away

by , 06-14-2010 at 10:22 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Note: My plans tonight included having a DDO dream with Tigress, meeting up with Walms so he could play games with L, and meeting up with MoSh to talk to his guide. I have actually been losing motivation to keep trying for a WILD… I decided to take a break and just go to sleep. So I didn't try for or get a WILD.

I was in my house. I was sitting and watching television with my mother. I looked at the show on the screen. It was about these people who had learned the secret to flight. Flight just through the power of their minds. It looked very simple to learn, too. I wondered if I could learn it… I decided I had nothing to lose by trying. I told my mom I was going outside for a bit. She asked me to bring the mail in. I grabbed the remote for our gate and went out. I tested the technique a bit. (No, I don't really remember the technique any more… ) I found I was being able to fly a bit. It could really work! I found that idea amazing! I quickly grabbed the mail… a lot of junk and bills… and took it to my mother. She wasn't impressed by the mail. I told her I was taking a flig… er… walk. She said fine. I went back outside and flew more. I managed to get into the air completely. It worked! I was flying! Yay! (Um… possibly a good time for a RC here? )

I started flying over the desert down below. It was beautiful. Flying felt wonderful. Just as good as it ever had been in dreams. (RC here? ) I was gliding along and I decided to go faster. I flew faster and faster, it was way fun! I finally slowed down. I looked down at the desert below. I saw something strange. There were a lot of cactuses together. It looked really weird. Like the cactuses were forming a building of some kind. I flew down to take a closer look. I had found something interesting… I was looking around the cactus building, looking for some sign of what it was. I found an entrance and looked inside. I then jumped about ten feet in the air as someone behind me spoke.

"You do know you're dreaming," Spike said, "don't you, luv?"

"No! I can fly in my waking life now!" I was so excited to be telling Spike this… so excited to see Spike IWL… Wait a minute… Spike was in the sun! Vampires can't be in the sun! "Spike! You're in the sun! Get into this weird structure of cactuses, into the shade!"

"Come on, luv," Spike said, "You know the sun doesn't affect me any more. It's been forever since that would work. What you need to be understanding is that this is a dream. Go on, do a reality check."

I looked at Spike for a bit more. A reality check? But if this was a dream that would mean I can't really fly… which would suck. But then again it would be a fully lucid dream. Ok. I did a RC and found out I was dreaming.

I looked at Spike for a bit longer. I said the fact it was a dream certainly explained a lot. I had goals to accomplish since this was a dream. First I was going to find Walms. I focused on trying to locate Walms. It felt like he was close. I turned to look into the structure of cactuses. I saw someone in there. I couldn't see him very well… was it Walms? I moved a bit into the cactus structure. The man I saw in there looked at me, fell on his ass, and then disappeared.

"Wait!" I called out too late, the man was already gone. I looked at the spot the man had vanished from, wondering if he might come back. I didn't see any sign of him. Ok… try again… locate Walms. I opened a portal this time and went through it. On the other side I was in someone's bedroom… I could hardly see anything. I felt so disoriented… so dizzy because of my strange lack of sight… and it was so disorienting that I lost the dream and woke.

    10. 06/11/10 Game Design, Navigation

by , 06-14-2010 at 09:50 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Note: And the rest of this night was taken up with a couple of fragment dreams, both of which were unfortunately non-lucid. I really need to improve on my RCs!

      *Outer Realms Software*
I was sitting at a computer. Tigress was sitting beside me, both of us were talking about a video game we were working on. The part of the game we were working on would have a town located near a dungeon. The strange thing about the dungeon was that it wasn't stable… it was constantly changing and rearranging itself. Passages would adjust themselves, dead ends would open up, passages would close off… so each time the player entered the caves it would be a completely different layout. This would be cool, because each trip down there would be new. I was figuring this could be easily done with a random maze generator. I was looking at the screen trying to think if UDK (Unreal Development Kit) could be used to generate a random maze. I would have to Google that.

The next idea we had was to have some characters in the maze that weren't evil. While there would be merchants in the town, the maze we were planning would be big and the player could easily run low on supplies. Then it would be a pain in the ass to have to leave and come back since the entire maze would've changed again. So to fix that there would be random goblin merchants wandering the maze. These merchants would sell the same items as the town merchants, just at an inflated price. Their excuse for the inflated prices would be that the dungeons are dangerous, thus it is dangerous for them to be down there selling stuff. In fact they most likely sell to both the player characters and the enemies alike, and are probably in very little danger, it is most likely the fact these goblins are just greedy that makes them charge so much. Tigress and I talked about the rules involving the goblins for a few minutes.

After Tigress and I were done talking about the goblins, it was time to start doing something. I was looking at a blank screen. It was ready for me to start coding. But what to code? Would UDK handle a random maze? I would need custom models… maybe I should start there first? But making really good models just takes so long… maybe I should just make place holder models and use them for the initial build. Yes, that would be good enough. Before I could even launch the 3D modeling program I woke.

      *Watch the Way I Navigate*
I was in a car with Tigress. We were driving down the street rather fast. That didn't bother me since I have a tendency to speed myself. I had the feeling we had just left the Pima Community College, West Campus, and now we were driving down Speedway. Tigress was taking the street name very literally as we flew past other vehicles that were barely moving compared to us. I also noticed that she was beginning to drive erratically. She was swerving all over the road. I looked over and noticed for the first time what Tigress was doing while she drove. She had her laptop opened on a make-shift stand to her right, a cell phone pinned between her shoulder and her head as she talked on it, a piece of paper on the center of the steering wheel where she was drawing a rough map, and she was steering with her left knee. Talk about distracted driving. We were rapidly coming up behind a pickup.

"TRUCK!" was all I managed to say as I saw the impending wreck. Tigress looked up and swerved around the truck. She asked if I could grab something for her, it was in her backpack. I said I was too busy watching the way she was navigating… That brought to mind the lyrics of a song called Feel Good Inc. by the Gorillaz, "Yo, watch the way I navigate
Hahahahahhaa!" And I was watching as Tigress was navigating directly towards a stopped bus…

"BUS!" I cried out. She swerved around the bus. She said I was getting way too worked up over those little things. She said she really needed that hard drive from her backpack, so could I please get it. I was just happy to be able to put my head down for a bit so I wouldn't see the impending doom…
    11. #75. Seven Minutes in Heaven

by , 06-14-2010 at 07:57 AM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
Okay, guys. I'm done spamming the Recent Entries section, I promise.

Also, romance with a fictional character? Very lame. Thankfully, this can only end badly.
What greater weapon is there than to turn an enemy to your cause—to use their own knowledge against them?

I'm browsing through the sale aisle at Bootlegger when I feel the temperature drop. Slowly, I place the t-shirt I was holding back on the rack, and reach out with my senses, feeling at the presence that appeared directly behind me. I can feel a stare burning into the back of my head, and I turn around, keeping my hands visible and obviously empty.

Standing there is a dark-haired man in a trench coat, staring at me without blinking. Aside from the creepiness factor, he doesn't appear to be a threat, but I can see beyond the physical. Cold light bleeds from his form, barely contained within his vessel, and I check my initial impulse to attack.

"Is there something I can help you with?" I ask, gesturing with my hands.

His expression doesn't change, though I notice a slight twitch of annoyance. "My name is Castiel. I'm an angel of the Lord." He says this tiredly, as if it's something he's had to recite a lot lately.

Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I've heard those words before. I'm still caught up in the feeling of deja vu when he says, "Luc, heaven has work for you."

The words jolt me back into the present. "Wait, what?" I say. "My name's ---."

"Of course it is." says Castiel.

I calculate my chances of being able to control the holy fire I'm about to summon. Blue flames start to dance across my fingertips and my claws lengthen in response to my irritation.

A ball of pure kinetic force slams into my side, sending me flying through the glass store-window. I pick myself up from the ground and spin to face my attacker, a man I barely get a glance at before I'm dodging another kinetic missile.

The force slams through the back wall of the shop, sending people screaming for cover. I roll into a crouching position and pull all the glass around me into the air. I throw the broken glass and the shards fly like bullets toward the attacker. Before they've even hit, I'm sending a wave of holy fire at him.

The incompatible energy burns ice-cold, sucking the heat from my bones. I collapse, shaking, fighting for breath. I manage to raise my head to look at the wall of fire that's burning on its own, and decide that it'll probably hold off the angels long enough for me to escape.

A hand grips the back of my shirt and hauls me to my feet. I look up at Castiel and groan.

"Bit of a trigger-happy bodyguard?" I complain, leaning on the angel for support. "Was that Lucifer? It looked like Lucifer." I mutter.

Castiel actually rolls his eyes. "We should depart. It would be best to avoid him for now."

"Oh no." I say, stepping back from Castiel on still-wobbly legs. "I can't take any more of your light-based heavenly magics right now. I say we walk."

Castiel just looks around our flaming surroundings. The building will probably fall down on us any second now.

"Fine." I say, closing my eyes and bracing for more hypothermia. I feel Castiel touch my shoulder, and a sudden lurch, and I open my eyes. We're standing in a three-car garage; concrete floors, white walls. The weirdest thing? I feel completely fine.

"Guess I've found an angel I'm not allergic to." I say, "Where are we?"

      "Heaven."

      "What?"

Castiel doesn't have time to answer. Flames are appearing from nowhere, licking up through the concrete floor and burning it away. The flames explode outward in a spiral and I shield as best as I can, but I can feel them lick at me, burning cold.

I'm running toward the door to the house, stepping onto the tile floor and slamming the door shut behind me. There's an inch of space left, and the door won't stay shut.

Last time, it actually closed the whole way, a little voice reminds me, but Lucifer is on the other side of the door, twisting the doorknob and I pull against the door, holding it shut from the inside. Lucifer is pounding on the door, causing it to rattle in its frame. I'm worried he might actually knock it down.

Of course, the fact that he hasn't is a little insulting.

"You know, I am way better at being you." I mutter.

I look around for something to brace the door with. The garage opens directly into the kitchen. Metatron is walking through on the far side, behind the island.

"Hey, Metatron! A little help here?" I say hopefully, still holding the door shut. It shudders against the onslaught.

Metatron looks down his nose at me. "Honestly, Luc, the lot of you are acting like children," he sneers, and continues on his way.

"My name is ---!" I shout at his retreating back.

The feeling of ice water is creeping back into my veins. I shiver and lean against the doorframe for support, gripping the doorknob with my right hand. I hear shouting from the other side of the door and the noise is lessening. Lucifer's not trying to get in.

When Castiel appears beside me, the room seems to get a little warmer. I'm clutching at the lapels of his trench coat before I even realize what I'm doing. The cold is fading away, though, and I decide that it's worth the awkwardness.

"Is he gonna back off?" I grumble into Castiel's shoulder.

Castiel tentatively places his arms around me. "Raphael understands that we need your help. So long as you don't burn down any more buildings, I think you'll be fine." He pauses, considering. "If he finds out that you mistook him for Lucifer, though, he might try to kill you again."

"Raphael." I blink, pulling away. "That makes more sense."

"I also recommend that you remain close to me," Castiel says, "Heaven's defenses seem to have an adverse affect on you as you are now."

I shiver. "Fair point. Now what the hell is it you want me to do?"

      ---

It turns out, the bright blue energy I've been playing with for the last few weeks has been wreaking havoc on Heaven's delicate ecosystem. For some strange, probably sinister reason, I'm the only one who can fix it.

Part of the living room has been torn away to reveal a crack in the dream-fabric. Blue electricity is spitting from the black chasm, and the angels in the room shy away from it every time it crackles. Castiel and I walk into the room without much fanfare, though the two angels hurry out as soon as we get there.

"Is there something I'm missing?" I wonder aloud.

"You need to absorb the Lux. We'll be able to repair the tears," says Castiel, pointedly not answering my question.

"So there is something I'm missing." I say, turning around to look at Castiel. "What happens to me if I do this?"

Castiel's face is deliberately expressionless. "You'll be able to withstand our defenses on your own for a time. Once we've repaired the tear, I'll return you to Earth and the Lux will fade away on its own."

I turn back to the tear, staring into the terrifying void, alive with crackling blue. It's breathtaking, in a way.

"---," he says, catching my elbow. I look back at him. "Please do this."

I smile and say, "I never could say no to you, Cas." It feels like I've said the words before.

Castiel pulls back like he's been burned, and I turn to the void, holding out a hand and bracing myself. I focus on the blue energy and pull -

It's like crashing headfirst into a star. The whole world is alive - burning - and I can see. I can see everything. I can see blue, blue, bright, light blue, and it's trailing after every living thing in the universe. I don't know. I don't know what it is, but it's not light, not like Heaven, not like the power Readers have. It's deeper, more primal, and it wants nothing more than to be free -

My world explodes with blue light, and my bits and pieces of awareness are interrupted by the intense humming of the Lux in my veins. I'm vaguely aware of strong arms pulling me away from the hungry black tears in the dream-fabric, of clutching at the rough fabric of a coat, trying to hold on to something tangible, before I'm torn away from him and left to calm down.

The next thing I know, I'm in the kitchen. I'm sitting on a stool at the island, propping my elbows up on the granite countertop, resting my chin on my hands. Most of my attention is on the movie being projected on the wall across the room. I have a vague recollection of choosing Dogma just to be obstinate.

Castiel walks in from the living room, looking neither more or less rumpled than he usually does.

      "How'd it go?" I ask.

"We were successful, thanks to you," he says. "How are you feeling?"

"Fine." I say, "Better than fine." I can still feel the Lux thrumming through my veins, offering me power beyond my wildest dreams.

As much as I might like Cas, he doesn't need to know that.

"We've done this before, haven't we?" I ask quietly.

Castiel looks away, and I catch his hand in mine. He meets my gaze, looking sad.

I let go of the breath I was holding. "Wish I could remember."

Our hands are still threaded together, and he squeezes my hand, says, "Let me take you home."

And we're standing at the center of an empty city square, bathed in orange under the afternoon sun. The cobblestones are warm beneath my feet, and the air is dry and still. Castiel and I are holding hands, and when I look up at him, my breath catches in my throat.

"We'll just do the same thing, Cas, over and over again. You know that."

"It has to be this way."

"It doesn't." I insist, but Castiel is already letting go of my hands.

"I'm sorry, ---." He raises two fingers to my forehead, preparing to erase my memories.

My force push sends him flying through a brick wall. Dust and mortar fly everywhere and the angel collapses in a heap. The rest of the wall falls in on him.

I'm standing with my palms outstretched, panting. I let my hands fall to my sides, and watch silver-white light leak from the pile of stones. I don't have much time.

I flee the square, running over the cobblestones and heading toward the cliff overlooking the rest of the city. I don't slow down; I leap from the cliff and focus on the rooftops hurtling toward me.

As I land, I blanket this section of the city with my black and red aura, sending my awareness out in all directions until only the blue-white energy is left. I can feel the pull to a place only I can find, and I close my eyes and let myself drift toward Lux.

I'm at a track for horse-races, in the back. There are trailers around, and stalls as well. The place is deserted.

I don't know what clued me in to the fact that this was a dream. I think on that for a second, then shrug it off. I've been meaning to try flying. I jump into the air and swoop around for a bit. I remember to try to contain my excitement, but -

New dream. I'm probably ten years old, fighting a friend who has decided to be a witch. It's all in fun, and I trace sigils into the windows and tell her she can't get inside. In retaliation, she sets a bulletin board on fire. All of my photographs go up in flames, and I smother the fire with blue energies that aren't a tiny bit wet.

Two girls hide in a closet behind the bathtub. The dream has been third person for a while now, focusing on the girls, who are part of a super-secret experiment involving clones or superpowers or whatever.

The Matron is walking into the room, and the pre-teen girls - Rae and Johanna - are hiding from her. Rae is about to leave the room and face her, hoping that she can still save Johanna from a horrible fate. Rae takes a deep breath and steps out into full view of the office -

Only to be blocked from sight by an adult stepping in front of the door. It's me. The Matron is coming in behind me, and I'm distracting her from Rae.

"It's always an... experience, hosting a representative of Cypher Industries." The Matron says, ushering me toward one of the chairs facing her desk.

"I've no doubt," I say, sending a wink at the girls hovering at the bathroom door. No doubt the Matron knows they're there, but she's ignoring them so far.

"If I may ask," she says, sitting down, "What brings you here? Our corporations have not been on the best of terms, as of late. Your safety is not assured."

"I'm supposed to give you this." I throw a sheaf of papers onto the desk in front of her.

She doesn't touch it. "And this is?"

"Oh," I say, rolling my eyes, "Roundabout legaleze that doesn't mean much. It's basically demanding access to what we consider to be our property."

"Really?" says the Matron icily, "And what property would this be?"

"You are in possession of two very special little girls. We want them; I'm taking them."

"Why shouldn't I kill you right now?" Her hands are folded on the table, her head tilted to the side.

"Oh, that's easy," I say, leaning back in my chair. "The term is 'Tactical Nuclear Missile Strike'."

      "Excuse me?"

"My team is currently flying directly overhead," I say, leaning forward, "If I flatline, then they will immediately make the entire island -" I wave my hands, "Explode."

There is a beat of silence.

      "Get out."

"I'll be taking the brats, then." I jump from my seat, smiling widely, and make for the door. "Pleasure doing business with you!"

Rae and Johanna are right behind me. The three of us run down the glass staircase, laughing, as the world unravels around us.

I'm Dean Winchester. We're on a hunt, and I'm running from the thing we're trying to kill. I jump over the piles of wood at our job site, aiming for the window of the just-framed basement.

I'm lucid out of nowhere. I'm still running and jumping, and nothing is chasing me. I shapeshift to default, frame slimming and I'm moving faster. I vault through the window, over a chain link fence and take down the guard on the other side. He gets up and I shoot force-lightening at him, blue electricity arcing from my fingers.

I'm running up an underground staircase. I had the route planned out ahead of time, parkour sequences that he won't be able to duplicate. I've run through the attic of a school and into this place, a spiralling staircase with nothing but a thirty-story fall down the center.

I get to level ground, and something feels off. I look at my hand. It's clawed, and pale-white, and moving on its own. I watch with sick fascination as the fingers move in impossible patterns, until I tear my gaze deliberately away, trying not to get more freaked out.

When I look behind me, nothing is following. I look down the staircase and wonder what would happen if I -

      I jump.

I feel the sick thrill of falling for a few seconds, before I reach out and catch myself in a web of orange and yellow, meters from the stone floor. I float in mid-air, close my eyes in contentment, and
      wake up.
