Only one dream I can remember from last night. I'm driving with my step-dad and mom. Apparently, we're going to go visit one of my step-dad's sisters. I thought we were driving to the airport to take a plane to go see them, but we're driving up into the snowy mountains instead, so I know we couldn't be going to the airport. I complain that I wish they had told me we were going to the snow beforehand, so that I could have brought warmer clothes (All I had in terms of jackets was a hoodie and a windbreaker. They had full winter gear.) My mom acts like I'm being a little bitch, and proceeds to tell me to STFU. We drive into the area where my step-dad's sister is. Apparently, they live in a trailer, but it's much bigger, thankfully, than my mom's sister's trailer. The area we're driving through isn't actually AT the snowline, just under it, so I should be okay with my clothes. I zip up my jacket just in case. The trailer is the brightest green I've ever seen, and it really isn't all that big. At all. Like, it's the size of one of those trailers you see at construction sites that works for an "office". I wonder vaguely where we're going to sleep. We get out, and my mom immediately heads for the ladder leading up to the top of the trailer, rather than saying hi to the family. I follow her. Climbing the ladder is hard, and I can see inside the trailer through a tall door. It looks like a warehouse inside, all gray with barrack-like living conditions. I reach the top of the ladder and ask my mom how long we're going to be here. She starts off with "a whole 2" and I automatically think weeks, and almost start raging. Then she finishes "A whole 2 hours". While the absurdity of it doesn't make me lucid, I certainly laugh to myself in the dream. ------------------- Heeeey, guess what. I remembered another dream. I think it started out vaguely having something to do with GTA. I remember being chased by the cops, so I ran into a really reach neighborhood. I was running around these really gigantic mansion houses, avoiding the owners who were in there, wondering what all the running sounds were, just trying to get the cops to stop looking for me. The second house I ran into, though, I actually got caught by the owners. Instead of being hostile/afraid like I thought they would be, they were actually very friendly, and invited me to have lunch with them, despite the fact that, you know, I was intruding in their house. Oh well. Pretty cool DCs, either way. ------------------------------- And that's all for now.
Non-dreamnon-lucidlucid Kit had described to me a nightmare she had in which there was a family who lived in a home in the middle of the woods. She described that the family overall behaved normally, but that something seemed Very Very Wrong about them. I asked her if, upon waking, she had pinpointed any of the subtleties that might explain the undercurrent of malaise. She mentions that there was melted snow on the lawn, and in the distance the forest is covered in snow, even though it's autumn. They also keep the fire roaring constantly even though the house is sweltering, and the mother is constantly swaddled in down comforters. The bright young daughter repeatedly reminds everyone to 'keep your shoes by the door, just in case!' It's implied that 'something' will come into the house if the place isn't kept very hot. I ask her if she's ever considered revisiting the dream to find out what It is. She says no. I joke about finding out for myself. My father and I are driving down a long road. As it progresses, we begin weaving through trees. It becomes snowier and snowier, until the veil of white is so encompassing that we can't see where we're going. He stops the car, and we're barely able to see a house off in the distance. He says he's going to go and ask them for help, possibly use their phone, stay right here. When he opens the door to get out, he zones staring into the snowstorm. I ask him 'What's up?' and he says, 'I just... Got a really bad feeling. Bah, nevermind... Hey. Just. Keep the heat running in here, okay? I'll be right back.' I agree and turn the heat on high. He vanishes into the snow. Inside the car, the heat begins to die. My breath steams up inside. It grows darker, I notice the snow looks less like snow, and more like a blizzard of frozen ash. I hear something moving; the sound of footsteps echoing like stones thrown to the bottom of a deep dry well. They begin circling the vehicle, getting closer. I squint out the window and notice that all around the house, up on the hill, the snow is melted. I realize I'm in Kit's dream. I pull out my father's business laptop and log on to AIM and start freaking out and asking her what I'm supposed to do to fend off the creature. 'DUDE. I'M IN THE FUCKING ICE PLACE. WHAT DO I DO?' 'wut' 'GOD DAMNIT IT'S COMING FUCK' I hear a strong wind blowing at the door, reaching out for the handle to open it. I slam the lock down. Realize there are three other doors, all still unlocked. It goes for the one behind me, I lock it- but as I'm pushing the lock down, it's already circling around the front and going for the front left. I push that one down, it's already going for the far rear. I hurl my body across the backseat to reach the lock, push it down, landing with my face inches from the window. What the fuck ARE YOU? A face SLAMS against the window and smears across it. It looks like Ambi(girl who has been behaving like a stalker toward me), but it's more like her corpse, inhabited and puppeted by the ice, partially frozen, blue and wet with rot. Her eye contorts as it smears across the window. I begin to sob. 'There you go, Kit. There you fucking go, it's a SHAPE SHIFTER. It manifests in the form of whatever you're most afraid of, whatever you're most paranoid of, in the moment you see it.' Now that I know what it is, I'm scared thoroughly shitless. Realizing I'm scared has a snowball effect because it means I'm going to lose lucidity, and my ability to steer the dream before I go under. I have to get out and face the blizzard, and 'fix it' so I stop having this nightmare before my chance is up and I go under. I'm getting rapidly distracted by fear. I open the car door and step out into it, and in a split second I feel my will being whisked away by the blizzard. 'ohfuck ohfuck I have to turn it into something else... Turn into a... a... shit! TURN INTO A BAR OF SOAP!' I lose control right as the transformation happens. And for a moment actually can't remember why or how the monster turned into a bar of soap, or even that it was a monster. For a few moments I'm terribly confused and start to cry, because 'Oh my god, something is turning people into bars of soap... What the fuck is going on?!!' (note: my non-lucid dream self is usually a blithering idiot) I then remember that 'I'm the one who did this, I turned Ambi into a bar of soap!' despaaairrr, whiiiine! I start beating myself up over how stupid I am, how could I do such a thing- also, I am 'an idiot for choosing a bar of soap, because when the snow melts it will activate the soap, creating liquid soap and suds, the melt will carry it into the gutters and it will travel out to sea and HURT THE ECOSYSTEM OMG'. I bawl on my hands and knees in the snow like a moron. The dream ends.
Dream starts off with Link from the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time entering a dark dungeon with grey stone walls. A narrow hall leads to a large square shaped room that has a platform in the center with bridges leading to doors in the southern and eastern walls. The platform is surrounded by dead bodies, hanging from chains, suspended over flaming pits of lava. Instead of a creature from the Ocarina of Time the first enemy encountered there is a cacodemon from the Doom videogame series. Link cannot kill it because it floats just out of range of his Master Sword, above his head, near the ceiling. Link escapes through the door in the south and finds himself in a small maze of long halls with many identical looking doors. Most of the doors are fake and the halls dead ends but Link stumbles upon a fake wall in the eastern part of the maze that leads to a room with a treasure chest that contains the Eye of Truth. The new treasure reveals which doors are real and which are false and also shows entrances to hallways that were hidden behind fake walls. Down one such hidden halls in the weatern part of the maze Link encounters more cacodemons but is able to kill them this time because the hallways has a very low ceiling and the demons cannot float out of reach of his sword. Beyond them is a short "t" shaped hall extension that Link quickly discovers is booby trapped. When he tries to reach the treasure chest at the far end of the hallway, rockets come flying out of a hidden alcove in the opposite end of the hall. Link's shield is unable to effectively protect him from the exploding rockets so he is forced to retreat to the entrance of the "t" shaped hall to figure out what to do next. Just then a cacodemon comes wandering down the hall and Link lures it into the "t" shaped hall. The rockets start firing at the new target, which becomes confused and tries to attack the wall hiding the rocket launcher, and while he has a chance, Link runs to the treasure chest and claims the prize which turns out to be the Biggoron's Sword. He runs out of the hall mazy and back to the central room where there is now one of those brain demons. Despite it being twice the size and strength of a cacodemon, Link makes short work of it with the Biggoron's sword and moves goes through the door in the eastern wall. The next room is similar to the hallway maze but instead of walls and fake doors the maze is made up of public bathroom stalls that are all painted light blue. Some stalls are the entrance to new hallways of stalls but because all of the stalls have doors that are closed, Link has to check them all one at a time. For some reason the Eye of Truth will not work here and some stalls contain hidden cacodemons and other monsters, making searching for the exit tedious and frustrating. The dream becomes fuzzy but Link ends up in another large room facing more of the brain demons after finding his way out of the bathroom stall maze. There is a door that leads outside and onto the tarmac of a parking lot where a 1979 brown chevy Nova sits. The landscape of the surrounding area is an arid desert like you would find in Arizona. A man behind the wheel of the car, who looks like Bob Hoskins, and a woman with brown wavy hair, urge Link to get in the car. The exit of the dungeon smashes open and one of those huge cyberdemons with a rocket launcher for an arm comes stomping out. Link tries cutting it's leg with the Biggoron's sword but it has no effect so he dives into the backseat and the car burns rubber to get out of there and onto a deserted highway. It doesn't go very though because it the blast from an exploding rocket causes it to spin out of control and into a dirt patch on the other side of the highway. The three occupants of the car lay low and very still because they believe that if they they do not move the demon will not be able to see them. Apparently it works as the demon seems to have lost sight of the car despite the fact that it is a mere 50 feet away. I cannot remember any more of the dream.

Awake Dreaming So, I attempted another WILD last night, again at 4:00 A.M. I was a little unsure when I woke up and felt pretty wide awake, which usually seems to occur when I'm waking after an REM phase, not before or during. I decided to try anyways, and laid there for a good while, but eventually lost motivation and decided to just get some sleep. I do remember a couple of dreams, though: one fragment I think happened just before I awoke at 4:00, and one more full dream sometime between 4:00 and 6:00. First, the fragment: I'm trying to hide something, I'm not exactly sure what, behind my dresser, after I wake up and see it sitting in plain sight. I guess you could call this a false awakening, but it really didn't have that feel - I never really thought about the fact that I had just been asleep, and the dream was pretty short with a small focus. Anyways, I take this object, and start to try and hide it, nervous that someone will come into my room and see me with it. However, I realize that behind my dresser doesn't seem to be the best idea, because there's shampoo, lotion, make-up, soap, basically extra supplies for the bathroom already there! The second dream was quite a bit longer, but not really much more interesting. My mind was kind of being boring last night. Here goes, though: I am inside a mall with several of my relatives from my dad's side: my grandparents, aunt and uncle, and most of my cousins. When I first become aware, we are in line to eat at one of those oriental style places- the types where you choose one or two meats and rice or lo mein, and they dish it all out on a plate. I remember getting chicken teriaki, which happens to be one of my favorites. After I got my food, most of the rest of my family was still in line, so I decided to explore some. Walking up the mall, I don't really recgonize it, but it seems to be a compilation of a lot of malls I've been to, but smaller. There is a food court, there is at least one department store, there are several other stores that I didn't notice, but all of these seem to be within a hundred or so feet of each other. As I walk past an empty store, I remark that someone should go ahead and start a hat store there. A little after this, right after I enter a department store, one of my cousins runs up, saying that they've all been looking for me because they want to stick together while they walk around. As I walk back, I notice that my grandfather is seeming older than normal, having difficulty walking and going up stairs. When we arrive with the main group, everybody begins to mill around and look at various items, while staying pretty close together. Besides us and the shopkeepers, the mall is empty. Somehow, I'm at the mall again the next day. A hat shop has sprung up where I said it would be a good idea, but there's no one actually there selling anything. There are a bunch of different types of hats: baseball caps, dress hats, derby hats, etc. A store clerk holds up one fancy hat and says, "I'm not sure where the shopkeeper here went. He was really good, he sold a couple of the most expensive hats here!" Somehow, I know that I'm supposed to be selling hats there, even though I don't want to, because it was my idea to open the shop in the first place. I inconspicuously walk away, which is when I wake up. Tonight I think I'm going to try to wake myself up closer to 3:30, see if I can hit my REM period a little better.
22.07.2010Lucidity? (Non-lucid) NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID Here are some fragments of dreams. I couldn't remember any dreams really, I do not know why, but here is some fragments. 1. I remember something about band practice. I wanted to practice somewhere else but we were told we had to practice at my house. 2. I was in the car with my mom. I did the nose pinch reality check, and I could breathe! I knew I was in a dream. I forgot everything that happened. 3. I was telling my sister and her friend about how I finally had a lucid dream, although it was short.
i remembered one dream i had i was at my high school and it looked normal until people who ive never ever ever seen at my school were there thats when i started thinking him this is a bit weird then people started appering from no were thats when i fighured out this is a dream. thats when i thought one of my mates i was hanging out with had loads of pot so i asked and incredibly i was right so we rolled up a joint that was bigger then me and smoked it. (the whole thing) all of a sudden i started floating then i floated all around my school showing everyone and they were laughing because i couldnt put my feet on the ground lol aw and in another dream i was at my house and this massive frikin spider was trying to eat me so i closed my eyes tightly shut then suddenly my dream teleported me to my room everything looked extremely normal i got out of bed put my uniform on for school then my brother in law woke me up in real life and i was in my room i got out of bed and put my uniform on then realised "hay i just did this" lol so i thort i had deja vu hahaha but i realised later on in the day that it was a dream
Recollections of two dreams from last night: - In the first dream I found myself in Virginia, at some type of campus. I had flown there to visit my friend Ryan. I remember that once I got there I realized Ryan was still working in China. Around the campus I see a lot of people who I went to high school with. - In the second dream I found myself outside of some sort of guesthouse/hostel/etc., hanging out with a group of people. We were drinking beer and smoking pot when a group of authority figures, none of whom I recognized, asked us if we were sober. I pay little attention to the them because I'm nervously searching for a plane ticket, for I have forgotten when my flight home leaves. I realize that my friends Ann and Alex are among the group of people I'm with. A few yards away I hear a group of people having a rather animated conversation. They are chastising Clancie, a girl I went to high school with, for introducing herself to a guy with a fake name in hopes of hooking up with him later.
I went to sleep last night before midnight. I didn't wake up until 2:30. I remember a dream about my missing cat, Rogue. He was very scruffy and somewhat feral, but he remembered me I had another dream about flying and navigating through the power lines. And another dream about zombies. They were breaking into a building I was hiding in. It was opening up the door and I had the knob and was pulling the door shut. I kept looking for something to help and saw a bungie strap on the floor, but I couldn't reach it. Then there was a peep hole in the wall and a zombie was looking in on me. Before I knew it, the zombie at the door busted through and started attacking me. >>The peephole came from watching "Cover Me".
awake dreaming lucid Unfortunately by the time I remembered this dream I had forgotten most of it, but I will try my best to recollect. I was with my friend Josh and for whatever reason, he needed me to drive him. Me being the lazy prick I am, I have not gotten my license yet so I should have immediately recognized this as weird. I was nervous, as I don't drive very often and was worried about my driving skills. I remember that it was late enough that there were few cars on the road and I was driving terribly. Overly wide turns and poor steering, etc. I crashed into the curb (I think), reversed out and continued my sloppy driving. I remember going to a store that sells children's products like colouring books and little mind puzzles. This is the last of the dream that I can remember.
This is one of my most vivid and one of my longest dreams. A whole bunch of people were in a giant competition and it was supposed to be the biggest event ever. I joined later on although i don't know when. People were talking to me saying how big it was or they were worried about their first match and some people were telling me they were signing up including some sexy blond. *skip* A few people showed me this awesome place that hanged up and was made of some woven plant. It was a greenhouse filled with exotic and rare plants, although i was scared of hanging up so high but some guy told me it couldn't break. He then showed me this section that had some plants that looked like little white cactus and had healing properties and said the main two properties were zen and gin(cool guy). The plants were over 2K each! We looked around some more. *skip* I was Lightning from FF XIII(this was in 3rd person) and i was hurt from the competition because it was towards the end and they spiced it up by putting monsters everywhere. So I was trying to get somewhere safe 2 rest but they kept coming until and i ran into this demon who said, "finally i found u, Lightning from the House of Souls and i will destroy u."(random) i was too badly hurt so i ran and fought some monsters while trying to get away and woke up.
21.07.2010Overpriced hotel. (Non-lucid) NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID One of my lowest nights, but I am glad. It's one of those nights were I have to wake up at 05:30 am to drive my wife work. So I am happy that my recall is always with me. Two dreams, fragments. Second: - I was outdoors. - I was looking for a hotel. - I found two hotels that were supposed to be the least expensive ones. One of them was $800 a night. It was night and I was in downtown looking for these. - I was worried how I would pay for the hotel, as it was a lot of cash. I could not go to my place for the following two nights. - I was planning to spend the whole evening at the hotel meditating for later in the night, Astral Project. - Dogs. - Cats. - A female DC complaining about how it hurt when a bird lays on your shoulder and starts to eat on it. - A green exotic parrot flew towards me. - The bird stopped on my shoulder. It did not bother me. I felt excited about it. - Pata Negra store. - I woke up very happy from this one. This dream was longer, but the 05:30 clock woke me up, and I always wake up naturally, so the clock hurt badly my recall, I lost everything. But I was able to recover all of these. Missed dream signs: - The ridiculous price of the hotel. What I would have done if lucid: - Head for a ToTY.
may type these later. - family, elevator, corey, brother, gould - talking to my brother about dream control with archetypes. - bruce is an asshole - washing the dog
21.07.2010I guess, Olive Oil. (Non-lucid) NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID One of my lowest nights, but I am glad. It's one of those nights were I have to wake up at 05:30 am to drive my wife work. So I am happy that my recall is always with me. Two dreams, fragments. First: - Olive Oil store. - Day. - Customers. - Tasting bar. - Waited different olives. - I woke up happy. I find it odd I woke happy from what looks like a work-related dream only, so I might ended some issues at my store. Missed dream signs: - The Olive Oil store (although is a waking place were I am most of my days, it's also a Dream Sign due all the dreams I have there) What I would have done if lucid: - Blast the dancers if present. - Leave the store and head for a ToTY.
There was some house and it seemed to be haunted somehow. I remember specifically this one character in my dream. He was some sort of indiekid/artfag/hipster type, wearing black skinny-leg jeans, scarf, jacket, long shirt, arty hat, shoulder bag, sunglasses, etc., as one of those types would do. Anyway, he would visit a room in this house and that indicated whether or not there were lollies in the fridge, or something like that. It didn't make any real logical sense so it is hard to explain it in my dream. My vision would always zoom into this room and see whether it was vacant or not. We were kind of in a graveyard and digging some food out of somewhere. But at the same time, we were cooking or something... haha idk. Hmm. I think that at first there was some food and lollies and we were cooking. But then the aforementioned hipster guy went into that room/fridge and got some chips out but didn't put them back properly. My aunties and I had to spend ages digging up all these chips because they all fell out as we opened the fridge door and putting them back into the crisper part of the fridge (wtf). Then my aunty heard some weird noises and saw some lights or something and it was the spirit of my grandfather or grandmother. She told my uncle and he heard them too, and also saw the spirits. After that part, I was talking to my aunty, but at this point she didn't seem to be my aunty anymore, but rather some random person. Although she still kinda had half the vibe of my aunty. I was talking to her about my philosophy on life, and how I believed that all we really needed in life was love, and all else would follow. After discussing it a bit, my conclusion came down to not just love, but love and food, lol. I think I said love and ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate, the molecule that provides energy in the human body, hahaha biology nerd). But this isn't true, because you need more than just ATP in cells . But anyway... There was a tennis match on and I was watching when suddenly the ball hit a pothole in the court and so it bounced back the other way and the referee called it wrong so the players were getting really angry and worked up and then a plane fell out of the sky and split into four pieces, with one piece landing in the sea (the main bit) and a smaller bit landing on the tennis court. The tail, wings and cockpit landed somewhere else. Mr T (the guy off the A-Team) was in the crowd, pretending to hit back all the balls somehow. He got onto the big screen that is broadcasted on TV.
07/21/10 I try to figure out this teleporting thing. Hazel helps out. The scene drifts into focus. I'm sitting on the cool, freshly trimmed grass outside the Ixburg Inn. My surroundings are hazy, and I feel half-asleep. It's one of those late-morning, about to wake up dreams. I dig my fingers into the soft grass and soil. I'm dreaming, I tell myself. I'm lucid. I stare at the yellow metal siding of the warehouse beyond the fence, trying to remember my lucid goals. I can't remember the first one, so I go down the list until something pops out at me. #2. Find Hazel. I feel for my phone in the front left-hand pocket of my jeans. The colours around me start to grey out, and I slowly lower my hand to the ground. I grab fistfuls of grass and breathe deep, watching the sky get brighter and bluer as I calm down. Sunlight beams down from the sky. I'm facing the other direction, toward the back of the motel rooms. There are apple trees beyond the fence. I slip my hand into my pocket (left-hand, right-hand, there isn't any difference) and pull out my phone. I think I should try this method one more time before I give up on it. Leaning against the red fence, I mash seven random digits into the keypad (one of them is an "8") and hold the phone to my ear. It rings twice. "Hello?" says a female voice on the other end. "Hazel?" I ask. "Are you asleep?" "Obviously." She seems amused. I shake my head. I'm still not sure this is really Hazel. "Want to try to meet up?" "Can you teleport?" I hesitate. An impatient noise from her end of the phone, and Hazel is standing in front of me. The chin-length black hair is her dream-avatar's most distinctive feature, and I doubt it's what her hair looks like in real life. We're standing on the other side of the fence, drifting slowly westward without my knowing. A DC lurks at the periphery of my awareness, and I think it's a childhood friend. We discuss the best way to get back to her dream. I explain an idea I've been putting together, that instead of opening a portal or a door, I just need to imagine the new setting and drift slowly into it. The danger is in how easily this could trigger a false awakening. Hazel says she wants to try something. She touches my forehead with two fingers. I fall back onto the tall grass, frozen in place. I can't move, and the scene is fading into black. I'm not worried, though. She starts talking, describing the setting of her dream. I pop back into existence between one second and the next. I can still hear the words, but they sound like nonsense. I'm surrounded by orange wooden cabinetry, and I think I'm in a basement. The narration starts to describe the exact kind of cupboard exists across from me, and I snap, "Okay! I get it! I'm here!" I'm sitting down on a bunk bed when Hazel appears again. The dream destabilizes. I "wake up". I'm in the basement of a church, or maybe my late grandma's house (she was a minister). I'm trying to find a bible, because the narrator has apparently been quoting bible verses at me. I'm flipping through the book, but I don't remember the order. "Where was Ecclesiastes, again? "Near the end," says Grandma. I mutter something about having had these memorized at one point. The dream ends. I'm the commander of a fleet of ships, taking shelter in an empty harbour. A woman with long, blonde curly hair stands beside me, asking about the clouds on the horizon. "Those are pure ozone," I tell her. "They're poisonous, but they won't come up onto the coast." "I wish we could go out to them," she says wistfully. Looking at the swirling mass of dark clouds, I almost agree with her. Hazel. Scare Factor: 3. Haaaazel, you're being all mysterious and otherworldly. Stop it. Also: Facebook, guys? Really?
