4-18-12, Lucid, twice, but too early in the night to be much.

I didn't nap yesterday, and I took Benedryl before bed to ensure I slept. I also tried a couple of new things. I told myself several times during the day, "I am the dreamer, I have control of my dreams." as DreamProfesser had suggested. I also added a new line to my "nightly plan" that I'm working on. The first line read "I will be lucid tonight. When I am lucid I will..." and then went on to my plans to try to meet up with K this time and ask him some of the questions I've been wanting to ask. It all sort of worked, I was lucid twice! But, they were the short early dreams that never last more than a moment anyways. By the time the longer dreams came around, I was already exhausted from being lucid during the early ones, and I had no success, lol.

Dream One: I'm floating in the air above some Victorian style houses. It's night time, and snowing. I am repeating to myself, "I am the dreamer, I have control of my dreams. I will be lucid tonight." then I realize, wait a minute... is this a dream?! And it was I have enough time to right myself as I was floating on my back, and look around to really admire the scenery. I notice the houses have elongated windows that are glowing yellow, but the light is steady like a light bulb not flickering like a candle which is what I'd have expected in a Victorian house. Then I wake up because my daughter's having a nightmare and crying out in her sleep.

Dream Two (Fragment): I'm not sure about much with this one. all I can remember of it was stopping in the dream and saying, "This is a dream!" then I woke up instantly. First time getting lucid has actually woken me up, lol. I was so sleepy I rolled over to try and DEILD and ended up forgetting pretty much everything about the dream :/ lol

Dream Three: This one makes absolutely no sense, even to me and I dreamed it! It starts out I'm getting out of a broken down suv, I'm in a snowy area. There are zombies coming up this snowy hill, and I panic because my ride is broken. Then I turn to my right and see a giant door in the mountain, like Moria(?) in Lord of the Rings. There's a woman signaling me to come inside and hurry, before the zombies can get me! I make it inside. I find out this room is some sort of zombie survival test. We have to do something to prepare ourselves to move onto the next level. I don't remember what we do, but I remember this room looks like a living room. The zombies are busting down the door, so we move on to the next level. The next level looks like a kitchen! I'm about to close the door between levels when the "zombies" break through and they're not zombies at all! They're little kids, like preschool/kindergarten sized kids. I decide we can't run from them, we have to take care of them. The girl tells me that I can't take care of them, it's a test. I have to act like they're zombies, and ignore them while we fortify ourselves. I ignore her and try to tell the kids to do something. It soon becomes apparent that the kids are little hellions! They bite me and bad mouth me, and I finally give up. I move on to the next level shutting the door behind me. This kitchen level has candy sitting on the shelf, and I'm hungry, so I grab a piece. My brother is suddenly there, and he steals the bag of candy from me. That's cool, I got a piece so I don't need the whole bag. I ask him about his girl friend, and he tells me he doesn't know, he doesn't love her anymore. I'm in complete shock because they make such a great couple and I would love to have her as a sister, ha ha. Then I walk to the table and there's a baby basket on the table. The kind like they show moses floating down the river in on the history channel when they do those bible history shows. It's light brown, and lines with a white liner, but it's filled with blood! Gross! My brother morphs into his girlfriend (hows that not make me lucid? lol) and she/he sniffs the basket of blood and tell me to smell it! I'm like, "no thanks!" But it ends up getting bumped and some of the blood spills on the table and we have to clean it up. Then we notice there's a window between the kitchen level and living room level, and the "zombies" (kids) are crawling through it! We run to the next level. But instead of ending up in the next level, I'm in a commercial for some gold colored minivan. There are windows all around with leafy golden vines etched in them, and this gold minivan is sitting on one of those spinning car platforms. There's a beautiful middle aged woman talking about the car. She's down dark skin, and she's standing in front of this golden light that makes it look like she is glowing gold. The light makes her black hair look like it's made of gold on the tips. She looked like someone had softly dusted her outline with gold. I'm not sure how to describe how awesome she looked, just that I was standing there in a awe for a bit just admiring this effect the light was creating. Then this portly white man walks up with all this ugly gaudy jewelry and purple robes like he was some sort of rich guy. He starts saying he hates the mini van, but he wants this glass and the doors. He severely annoys me, so I leave and find myself in a cubicle sort of area. That's weird, and boring. I leave that room, and I'm back in the Zombie Kitchen. Or rather in a hallway that didn't exist before, looking INTO the kitchen. There's also a small room to the side where the "zombie" children are in a class now, learning like normal preschool/kindergarteners would be. The teachers holding up a book, it all looks so normal now. Then everything flashes, and it's like I'm watching tv. The screen zooms out, and there are creepily life like Skylanders on top of a water fall with some humans. The narrator is saying they're the last hope against the zombie invasion. Then the dream cuts to a parking lot. My mom, Grandma, son and I are all about to get in the car.. only instead of a car it's my mom's tiny truck. There's only 3 seats. Someone has to ride in the back, and it's going to be me because Grandma's too old to climb up there, my son's too young, and my mom has to drive because I can't drive a stick shift. I'm scared mom will wreck and I'll get crushed. I wake up, thankfully, lol.

Dream Four: This one still has me feeling a creeper, lol. It starts off with my mom and grandma and I looking for a hotel. We end up going on a toll road, but the toll booths are closed. I feel like I'm going to get a ticket because I didn't stop, but the booths were closed so I don't. We find the hotel, and it's green, but there is a prettier rainbow colored one I'd almost rather go to, but our reservations are for the green one. Inside the hotel though, it's my husband, my two kids and me, as well as some other random little boy. Then my uncle and his wife and their two sons are there too. I'm watching the little kids play in the hall way, but then they start jumping and running and screaming and I tell them that if they don't quiet down they will kick us out of the hotel. The kids whine about this, but stop. Then I get a phone call in our room. I answer it, and it's the front desk man telling me that he has to report on all guests who stay in his hotel. I'm like, "Ok? it's just us and our kids, and we've done nothing wrong?" Then he tells me that one of my four kids is wanted by the government and they are on their way to pick him up because of his report. I hang up and I'm flipping out, apparently I don't realize I only have 2 kids, ha ha. It turns out, my fourth kid is a teenager?! and we've taken him in because he had no where else to go, but he's wanted on hacking charges. I walk out into the hallway where my husband is talking to a man in military uniform and our "son" is standing there with him. I ask the military man if we can't just pay for the damages he caused, and the military man says no, that he will have to work off his debt. I try pulling the, "but he's just a minor!" card, but then the kid tells me he turned 18 the month before. I'm mad, and I stomp my foot and tell the man he is not taking one of my kids away! Then I hug my "son" and tell him I am so, so, so sorry that we choose this hotel to stay at. That if I had known this would happen I would have never come there. He seems really apathetic, and it feels pretty awkward because my "son" is taller than me, so I just walk out of the hall and leave it to my husband to handle. I'm a mess, blubbering like a baby, lol. I walk outside, but feel like I'm doing no good and restless. I walk back inside and fuss at the desk man (who funny enough looks like George Lopez). "My son's getting taken away because of you! By a man in the military no less! What if they send him to war? What if he dies because you turned him in?! I am never staying in your crappy hotel again!" I walk back inside, and my aunt is talking loudly to someone about how she "didn't know we'd taken in a criminal, and if she had she'd have never come on this trip with us! How dangerous! Her kids could have been killed!" I snap and tell her that he isn't a murdered, he just got mixed up in some hacking crap a few years back and he didn't realize he was doing any wrong until the wrong was done. Then I equate it to downloading illegally or something. Then a cousin from a different side of the family starts telling me that no one is buying my sad mother act, that everyone knows I'm secretly in love with that guy and that's the reason we took him in and acted like he was our kid. Then I'm still bawling and go outside again, but this time so does our "son". I try to get my space by walking away behind the building but he follows me. He tells me quickly behind the building that he knows I didn't mean to get him caught and that everything's going to be ok, to just not worry, but I'm really upset. I realize I'm mostly feeling guilty because if I had chosen to stay at the rainbow hotel this would have never happened. I walk back around to the front of the building remembering what my cousin had just accused me of, and not wanting to be in a position that might make that look true. My husband pulls up in a white car and tells us we need to go home to get the kids things so he can take them with him to the military. Then my husband starts telling me in the car that the military has found several of the "kids" teeth, and they were dated and he's a lot older than he's trying to play off. He says the kid is almost 26, making him older than me, and that they've also found some of his bones as well as bones of missing persons (basically, dream logic translated this to implying that when he'd break a bone or something he'd cut someone else's limb off and replaces his own with it because it'd heal faster that way?) I tell my husband there's no way he'd do that, he may have gotten mixed in with a bad crowd, but he wasn't a bad person. My husband accuses me of being too gullible. I turn and look back at the "son" who tells me not to worry about it, everything will work out but doesn't say anything about those accusations. We get out of the car, and we're at a house with a pool! We have to climb through the pool to get into the house though (weird! lol) and I turn to the guy who's been deceiving us this whole time, and I tell him to make sure he survives, and not to forget he was supposed to go to college, get a good job, and build a mcmansion (yes, I called it McMansion, lmao) for the whole family to live in. He smiles and says Yeah. Then my real kids wake me up! I look back at the dream and feel pretty gross, lol.

Congratulations on becoming lucid Mydera! Very good. I like that you repeated the, "I am the dreamer, I have control over my dreams." You see, it is a very powerful way to train your subconscious. And don't worry, you will find that your lucidity time will increase the more you begin to become lucid. Stability in lucid dreams are a must, as you want to increase your lucid time longer. So sorry to hear about your daughter having a nightmare. Once you become lucid more, you will learn the art of navigating to your daughters dreams and keeping watch for potential monsters who try and invade her dreams.

Your 3rd and 4th dreams were quite intense! Zombies in dreams can be quite a nightmare, But i am certain that you will become lucid more often, and gain more control over your dreams.

Thank you Dreamprofessor for suggesting that mantra! I seriously don't do mantras because they never work for me, but I tried that one and it worked the first night I used it. Definitely going to keep it up ^_^ As for Zombies in dreams, they really don't freak me out that much. Obviously in dreams I try to stay away from them, but they're not really intensely scary for me. Usually they turn out to be something else, like in this dream they were little kids! ha ha

No problem Mydera, glad i can be of great hope for you. That is so good to hear, i always try and experiment with different tools every other day. Like take today for instance, i simply just rubbed my siver hawk coin totem the entire day, and build my awareness on each and every little thing around me. Wow, your one tough cookie! Zombies don't freak me out much as well, (seeing as how i rarely dream of them) as they move super slow, and they are completely oblivious morons, when you think about it. Hahahaha and yea, kid Zombies are a spookfest for sure.
