    Martial Arts with the Major

Was at P's house with him and his family. The house is not like it is in RL but much larger and very high up from the ground. We were in the top room, a good 4-5 stories up in a forest; who's trees rose way further up than we were.
As time had gotten on, my mum dropped by and I drove the two of us to the shops to grab something for dinner. We ended up buying lots of Chinese food. For just the two of us we have about 5 large bags of different dishes.
With the packages still warm in my hands and smelling quite tasty we started to leave. On the way out, P's dad said hello and commented that what we had looked pretty good. I gave him the cold shoulder jokingly telling him he wouldn't be getting any from us, and with that we left and the dream changed.

I was with a group of people (adult) by the pool. All nice and casual; people slowly drifted off and we eventually had myself, two other guys and Major Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell - watched recently). It seemed we had planned on stay around together as the Major was going to teach me how to fight in a particular martial arts style.
Mainly I learned the stance which was: open bodied, shifting the weight from left to right lightly side-to-side, arms up for standard kickboxing punches. When I tried to put my leg forward to punch she told me I was doing it wrong. I needed to take a small step and then bring up my other leg low and deep to put more power into the enemy. Every now and then the Major would say punch or kick and I would have to shadow fight the moves out. My kicks were fine as she didn't say anything about them; they were knee-high blade kicks which looked more badass than in RL.
Once I had the basics down, which didn't take long, the Major left and us three guys started talking. One of them used to practice the style a while ago but didn't use it anymore. The other guy was a seasoned fighter having done it for years. He seemed to respect the Major considerably since she was the best according to him. He also spoke to us about the philosophy behind the style and what it aims for in the strokes and movements.
    ___________
I can still remember the moves and the fluid rolling stance is quite natural. I'm quite impressed with my subconscious for teaching me the basics of a martial arts style - Anyone know of a style that is similar to what I described?
