    1. Still Dreaming

by , 05-17-2011 at 04:41 AM (Alone With my Mind)
      "Lucid dreaming, huh?" he says.

"Yep. Been doin it for a while. I kinda haven't been trying recently."

      "No shit."

      "Yeah. It's really great."

"Hah." The guy next to him laughs.

      "What?" I ask.

"You've been talkin about lucidity for a while and you haven't noticed?"
      "Noticed what?"

      "You're dreaming."

He whirls his fist into my side.

    2. 4/15: Shadows of Grief

by , 04-16-2011 at 05:21 AM (Alone With my Mind)
      non-dream non-lucid lucid

Tipping over, a box full of cubes empty their contents onto the store floors. "Damn," I said as I ran out of the exit, an expensive item gleaming in my hand. Theft. I had realized what I had done, now lucid, as turned around and walked back into the store. I was forced to pay a fine for theft and destruction of property, and I read the bill. $70. Not bad.

The dream skips, and I am walking around my school campus. I greet a teacher as I walk by a classroom, noting her apparent friendiness in what seems to be a rather sore day. The new vice principal is peering into a classroom, observing the teacher and his students. Down by a table, little boy is enjoying his lunch. I turn into the next empty hallway to make another circle around the school. It's suddenly almost pitch-black, and trying to find my way around the darkness. Some slow, depressing rock music is playing, the only words I hear are "Written in the Storms". I walk back around, and I see the old vice principal, full of rage, screaming into a classroom full of threatened students and their teacher. I reluctantly say "Evening," to a few teachers walking by. I got a depressed and shy, "E..evenin'." What's going on?- I thought. A chubby boy, much like the one I saw before, is shoveling food down his throat with both hands.

I turn to the final hallway, and I see someone. She turns walks with me, and the very little light in the dream is flashing faintly on her face, much like how cars' headlights quickly and repeatedly strike a street lamp is it turns a corner. I say, "No one really knows the true faces behind the good people in this horrible world. My true face shows the sadness and stress that my family seems to pass onto me. My true faith is only for me to know. My current, let's say compulsion, is also buried deeply in that face, and that, weh-, -oo b-"
The dream ends. I fall back asleep as I try to continue the dream, but I seem to only get in choppy results. "-t-gth- -th- y-" I manage to get out. The dream relocates, and I find myself saying "Writing in the storms," to my confused mother and brother. I hear the music of the same song I heard coming from my bedroom. I try to find the source of the music as it fades away. The dream skips to the previous scene, as I turn to this girl and say "you."

      Up Starts from Down (lucid)
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
      [False Awakening]
I toss and turn and cant seem to fall back asleep, so I get up and turn on the computer. A quick look outside tells me that it is about 4:00PM. I click a few of my favorite websites browsing my favorite sites and check my email, and my computer screen starts bugging out. It won't let me type or click on anything, rendering it as useful as a brick. An idea snaps in my mind that I'm may be dreaming, and I do a reality check. Yep, it passed, and I became lucid. The computer screen went back to normal, and I thought about the tasks I should do. I look up and an Enterprise-like starship is at a low altitude in the sky. Maybe I should check up there... I thought, so I walked away from the computer to open a portal. Might as well kill two birds with one stone, so I fell backward to stabilize the dream and transport to the ship. I felt myself rising upward into the sky, but quickly lost altitude. I woke up in my bed, ticked that I failed. I couldn't really fall back asleep.

    4. Passive Parkour

by , 01-20-2011 at 01:53 AM (Alone With my Mind)
      Big Man, Small Town (lucid)
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
I had exited a building, finding myself on a concrete field of nothing. I turned around, and the building is gone. I did a reality check and became lucid, but then the dream suddenly destabilizes. I rub my hands and try to observe the details of the nothing around me, and I see a city in the distance. I realize I have several tasks to do before the month is done. I decided to ignore the LPTC tasks and the DreamCatcher tasks, because they seemed to challenging for me right now. I settled on trying to do TOTM, but I couldn't seem to get a thunderstorm to come by, so I decided to do the Advanced task. I filled in the space in front of me with obstacles and ledges to free run on, as parkour could get me more focused. I swing around the bars and fly across the large gaps that my mind had auto-created, and I came across a busy city. It brought back nostalgic memories of when I lived in the city up in LA. I couldn't bring myself to grow 10 times larger for some reason, so another thought popped into my head.

I walked away back to the concrete nothingness and simply spun around. When I focused again, the city was about the size of a sheet of paper. I trampled on it, leaving only a small area which looked like water behind. I dived into the city and it became normal sized again, and I landed in a pool.
I seemed to lose most of my lucidity, as I realized all my friends were staring at me underneath some shading. Jenny and my brother had pistols and were running into my house, but they were caught and arrested. I climbed out of the pool too, and a pistol fell out of my back pocket, and I got caught too, but all I had to do was go inside my house. I checked the kitchen counter and noticed my brother's work was on there, with scribbles of "I shouldn't ever point a gun anywhere again." I wrote something on that paper and walked into my bedroom to go to sleep.

I wake up, and realize, 'I'm still dreaming!' I run into the kitchen and my brother and my mom were discussing some sort of research topic. "Wanna hear what I'm researching, Mike?" "I already know, whatever, I gotta go!" I burst out the garage door and sprint down the street, trying to tear open a portal to get to somewhere. I dodge the cars and start yelling out location names while trying to rip open the air with my hands. "Apocalypse ship for 2012! Uh... Halo 3's Last Mission! No... Pyramids! A-" My mom stops me, "Hey! You're not dreaming anymore! You're wide awake!" "No, I'm-" "AWAKE!" she interrupts. "Really... Oh." I walk into one of the alleys in the street and I notice the moon is freakin huge on the horizon. I turn around and a man with a pigeon resting on his shoulder is muttering to himself. "It is pretty beautiful... It'll be even more amazing when the two moons combine... heh..." "Wha..?" I ask. "Look behind you." I turn around and there is a second smaller moon rising in front of the first one.

    5. Roll Rumble, Ping Polo, Shiny Shirts, and Deja Vu

by , 01-17-2011 at 10:38 PM (Alone With my Mind)
I just finished burning down the house, so I guess I should record my dreams.

      Torotot Wars (lucid)
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
I wielded my pair of torotots (Tagalog for paper towel rolls XD) and ran around smashing people over the head with them. They were attacking me inside my house, so the paper towels rolls are all I could find. I ran into my bedroom to catch my breath and do a reality check. 'Looks like I'm dreaming', I thought as air passed through my closed mouth. I walked into my hallway, and I slashed the throat of an enemy. What the hell? I thought, the short torotot had turned into my purple dagger. Sweet. I tried to turn the long one into a long sword, but someone knocked it out of my hand and tackled me. Before I could run outside to get to the apocalypse ship in China for the LPTC, he took my dagger and plunged it through my chest.

      Water Pong
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
I opened the door and sat down on the edge of the chair. Naomi and Nick were in bathing suits, playing a game in a small pool, kinda like ping pong and water polo. They were trying to score by getting the ball past a blue line behind their opponent. Naomi kicked Nick's ass, and I was asked if I wanted to play. I got up and waited a bit to think about it, and said, "Sure." I took off my shirt and got in the pool. I cracked my knuckles and the judge threw the ball into the middle of the water. I lunged for the ball, colliding with Naomi.

      For a Good Cause
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
I visited someone's house as my parent's talked with other parents about some sort of cause that had to do with school. I walked around the house and visited a room with high ceilings and an opening to an upstairs. I heard my brother and some of his friends up there. I yelled, "Get down here!" and all three of the jumped maybe fifteen feet downwards. They were all wearing ugly, shiny, gold clothes and flashy jewelry. "What are you wearing?!" I questioned. My bro said, "We are wearing this stuff for a reason," and one of his friends started doing some dirty dance.

      Not Again
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
Rachel, Bowen, and I walked outside to the parking lot to check something for our bio class with a few other students. We walked back into the classroom and it was fenced out by the construction workers. The sign on the class read, "Go to room 6311 for your backpacks, check room 3211 for Ms. D." "Oh well," I said, "let's just go home." Alex walked up to us looking rather sickly. "You want these peanut butter marshmallow sandwich? I'm to sick to eat." Rachel and I said, "No, thanks." Alex set it down on a tray by one of the pillars. Bowen ran back to grab it and took a few bites. "You're actually eating that?" I asked. "Mhm," he nodded. "Gross..." I watched some asshole driver in a tan Toyota speed onto the sidewalk. 'I know that car...' I thought.

This ending to the dream and the car I saw is exactly the same as the one I remember dreaming about three years ago.

The dream skips and my mom is taking my brother and I to the parking lot. It suddenly become dusk, and the street light ominously lit up a small section of the lot. The car was racing down the lanes of the parking lot trying to run us over. "Run!" I screamed. We all scrambled through shortcuts trying to outwit the driver, which worked almost flawlessly. We slipped between cars and the driver lost us for a second. My mom and my brother ignorantly ran towards our car; they didn't see the man driving towards them. "Wait!" I called out to them with no response. The man stopped and got out of his car. My brother saw him pull out a pistol and ran back toward me, but the man shot him in the back of the knee, and he crumpled to the ground. He pointed the gun toward my mom, and she whipped out a pistol from her pocket. I ducked down and heard two quick shots and a body falling. I don't know whose it was.
    6. Nightmare...ish

by , 01-14-2011 at 05:24 PM (Alone With my Mind)
Weird dreams, kinda nightmare-ish. All of the same location, appearing to be different dreams at different times.

      Dark Nights
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
I sat up from my bedroom. I got up to get a drink of water, but then the Christmas tree flashed alive for a second. I turned around and looked at it. It flashed again, brighter than ever, and I stumbled back into the wall. A man in the hallway said, "Go. To. Sleep!" He rushed me and I tried to scream, but I couldn't. I must have woken up, I'm not sure. I 'woke up'. I remembered the last dream I had where I had woke up in my bed and, instinctively did a reality check. I did atkins54 new reality check, and it passed, so I became lucid. I sat up again, and looked at the tree. There were presents under it which was unusual, all of them had been given out. I turned back to turn on a light, but I was electrocuted by the switch. Did I wake up again...? I was checking under the tree, and the presents were gone. I did a reality check to solidify the fact that I was (still?) dreaming. I walked into the hallway, and someone started to laugh and cackle, so I flew towards the garage exit. I was then suspended in air, unable to move. I tried to scream, "Light!" to increase the brightness of the dream so I could see who was laughing. But whoever it could manipulate my voice too. So I screamed, "L...AUGH!" He continued to laugh as I forced myself awake.
    7. 1/11: Shirt, Shat, and a Stare

by , 01-12-2011 at 02:50 AM (Alone With my Mind)
      Recolored (frag)
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
My mom set down the folded clothes on my bed. My new T-shirt, which had originally had faded out logos, had been un-faded out and are now white. I ignored it and just put it away.

      Gross Garage (frag)
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
I walked into the garage to get a soda and as I pulled it out of the fridge, I realized my dog, who had spent the night in the garage, had shat on the floor. I called my parents so they could clean it up.

      Look (lucid)
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
After her lecture, my science teacher handed the class an indecipherable worksheet to do for homework. I asked my friend sitting next to me, "Hey, do you get this?" "Yeah." "Well, why can't I read it?" He shrugged. I walked out the class, but realized I just walked out of my MATH class, not my science class. And the worksheet wasn't legible because, well, it was a dream. I became lucid, and the worksheet became readable. It read on how to triangulate a location somewhere west of the school. I put it away in my backpack and walked toward that direction, maybe something was there. I noticed Justin, Rachel, and Nick were walking separately in the halls. They were all common characters in my dreams, so I decided to check to see if they were actually dreamers. I sent out a thought to Justin. 'Look at me. Now.' He suddenly turned and locked a hypnotized stare on me as I walked past him. I stopped looked around and he was gone. Rachel was in front of me, and I sent the same thought to her. Another creepy stare. I walked past her, and saw Nick resting by one of the classrooms. Yet another thought, but surprisingly no response.

Just a thought back. 'Why? I'm gonna listen to my iPod.' He pulls out his headphones whiched looked a helluva a lot like mine. He didn't have an iPod, so I dismissed him as a DC too. I ran up one of the walls, dropped my backpack, and ejected my wings. I stood on the end of the building, ready to jump, when I noticed my science classmates arguing about where to go as directed by the worksheet. "Hey!" I yelled. Many turned to my direction, dumbfounded. I pointed somewhere to the west. "It's over there!" They all looked, and I jumped off and took flight toward that direction. I was now flying above a grassy hill. Below me I saw a mansion that had occured in a dream I previously had about three months ago. It was the EXACT same thing. I flew down to it and pulled in my wings, but I couldn't control my landing as well as I thought. I flew to fast and undershot the location of the ground, and I fell face first into the dirt, knocking me out.

      Non-Dream Non-Lucid Lucid False Awakening

I am doing this straight from my memory, with no assistance from my physical DJ. I am hoping this can improve my recall. My dream also fades out at one point because not much action is occurring. I would also like to warn you that anywhere dark as or darker than a shadow in a dream gets me nervous in the dream, usually causing a nightmare, which almost got out of control today.

The dream started out slow. I was in a dark computer lab trying to solve a brain-buster on an unfamiliar website with my PE teacher. When I FINALLY figured it out, I got to leave. When I exited the lab I was outside my home at night. Very creepy. I got in the van that was parked on the street next to my house to find my mom, dad, and brother in the vehicle. I got in the passenger seat, and we drove onto the road. There were no buildings at all, and it was nearly impossible to see anything out the van. There was no starlight or moonlight. Finally, we passed by an odd building, with only a flickering green light to mark it's presence. There was another odd and almost invisible building, where we promptly parked our car. As we entered the building, Laser light shows were creating odd patterns, like the ones created in the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch App, Uzu.

As we walked in the first door we could find, there wasn't much action happening except walking at the moment so the dream faded out. I remember entering and observing various rooms with my family, and seeing our tenant, W. As soon as the dream got clearer, I was walking into a bathroom. I saw a human-like figure hunched over in a towel. I got nervous, since this house has no inhabitants at the time, and he could be... dead. I took a tool (possibly a stick or pole) and whacked the towel off, only to reveal two large dolls put an an odd position. I threw them aside in disgust, and as I left the bathroom, I found myself in my parents' master bedroom. My brother was by the cabinet by the exit door. I said "Hey!", and he promptly fell over and started seizing. He morphed into this zombie-like thing and picked my up by the legs. At that point, I went into third-person view and started thinking, 'This must be a dream...'
Now lucid, I kicked my brother away and ran out the bedroom. I walked into the hallway with my mom. As we were walking out, I tried to summon a sword, but I wasn't loud enough, so a half-sword was summoned instead. I was like, oh well (I wanted to teleport somewhere to practice my fighting). I walked into the library, where my mom was showing me something that I can't exactly remember. It was some kind of can or something. I woke up because the dream was too boring.

      EDIT:Whoops, forgot notes.

    9. 9-17-10: Wing and a Mystery

by , 09-18-2010 at 12:27 AM (Alone With my Mind)
      Non-Dream Non-Lucid Lucid False Awakening

      ---------------------------
      ||Dream Fragment||
      ---------------------------

My dream seemed to switch between two people. Myself, and a woman holding an iPhone/iPod Touch. At points in the dream, the woman (I'll call her A), would look at her device reading about another woman named L. She read several letters to L's childhood friends, and other information.

Up until now, my dream was in a haze. I remember looking for someone. I was throwing water balloons at people at my current school, and was lucid since I could remember. After exiting my school, I switched to A's point of view, and noticed a few letters and info from L. I was in a park next to a gray cement wall. I decided to try out flying, and leaped in the air, and imagined myself sprouting wings. So I did. The wings appeared to be moving automatically, and I was cruising at the same speed and altitude. No matter how much I tried to move my body, I couldn't. I could only move my head and arms. So, I 'swam' through the air, and gained a burst in height and speed. I looked to the side and saw the stars and the Earth, along with my autonomous wings flapping. I observed the almost perfect field below me, with green grass stretching as far an eye can see. I also passed over a couple of disproportional towns, almost cartoon-like in appearance, similar to Twilight Town in KH. They were very small for the altitude I was cruising in, and distance between the towns was off too. They were far apart, with no roads connecting them. I got bored of flying, so I was going to try free-running. I imagined a nearby city, but it was also oddly sized. (I didn't know that flying lower could make it much bigger, which I found out later) I just passed over the misshapen city with disappointment.

I was dropping altitude fast, and decided to land on a small hill. As I moved toward the hill, it SUPER-SIZED into a golf course. I landed at the end of the golf course. I thought 'Oh crap, I can't get seen, I have wings!' Sure enough, two golfers were on the course. I thought, 'Well, at least there isn't a meeting or something here.' Of course, a mayor-looking guy brought a huge audience near where I was standing. And they saw my wings. The crowd has gone into a frenzy. I lost my focus and awareness and the dream started to fade. The mayor yelled, "Get security!" I promptly responded "Brass fist!" and punched him out of the way with my metal fist. As I ran, I kept on switching to the A's point-of-view, to observe L's progress. Finally, as I climbed over a hedge, it switched to A's point of view again, and as I read one last letter, and the dream faded out completely.

I woke up. I went to the bathroom, put away some clothes, and tried to do WBTB. And I failed.

      Notes:
Vividness: 8/10 (Went as low as 1/10 in the beginning and the end)
Lucidity Peak: 6/10 (I could fly and summoned a brass fist.)

    10. 9-15-10: The Report

by , 09-16-2010 at 12:42 AM (Alone With my Mind)
      Non-Dream Non-Lucid Lucid False Awakening

I find myself in my ASB (student body) classroom. with the old student body class and counselors. I thought I didn't run for student body, this year, but I simply dismissed it as insignificant (whoops). As usual, at the beginning of the week, we were assigned reports to carry out to our classroom. My friend Z and I exited the room and found ourselves in an unfamiliar school with white and green walls. This same school was the school I went to to help my neighbor set up her classroom. I realized my friend Z wasn't in ASB as we gave the report, but again I dismissed it as not a big deal (another whoops). We finished and left the classroom, and I found myself as K of the Penguins of Madagascar (WTF?). We were trying to break open a brick wall off a school to get inside, as the school was in lock-down(?) or something. After several attempts of trying to total the wall, R simply ran the Hummer we were in through the wall, and I found myself closing my eyes, and opening them to appear my bedroom. This was a false awakening, I thought, because something was just off, and I became lucid. A long haired man walked into my room, and he appeared hideously warped. He had no visible face, his arms were dropped, his clothes were tattered, and his legs were limp. As I said, "R. P., is that you?", (I have no idea whose name I called out, I just remember the name) and he walked faster than the speed of light, and slurped near my left ear. My last thought was 'WTF!' as I woke up.

      Notes:
      Vividness: 7/10 (Pretty vivid.)
Lucidity Peak: 4/10 (Wasn't lucid for long, and had no control)
