    In-dream Dream Diary

This one comes from a few nights ago as well. You'll see that something bizarre happens; if it's happened to anybody else, please share your experience!

This is one of many dream fragments I recall from this particular night. I was at a nice restaurant with white tablecloths and elegant dishware and crystal with my mom. She seemed older than she is now, which made me assume that I, too, had aged to a degree. We were discussing something that I can't remember, when I suddenly realized I was dreaming... Perhaps the dream sign was the age difference - it seemed like a relatively unprovoked awareness of dreaming.
This is where it gets weird. In the middle of our conversation, I take from my lap beneath the tablecloth a dream diary that greatly resembled the one I use in the waking world, and began to write everything down. When my mother questioned me, I stated "I'm writing everything down so I'll remember it when I wake up!"

More events occurred after, and I did document what I could recall, but this is really the most interesting point in my dream. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Notes:
    - I was unsure whether I had actually written anything down upon waking up. I thought I had at first, but checked my diary and found nothing. I then proceeded to scribble down what I could.
    - My distinction between waking-reality and dream-reality was blurred upon waking. I read a text message from my friend on my phone, and I didn't know if it was real; it turns out that it was. My response was a little funny; in it, I told my friend I wasn't sure if I was dreaming.
